C25: Breakfast.
The family now sat at the table, eating breakfast in silence. Like at dinner last night, everyone had served themselves-each of them with the glass cups now filled with orange juice, with Max over by his dog-bowl, eating cream-of-wheat. Bonnie sat at the head of the table, James sat at the end, Steffy, Finn, Thomas and Hope sat on the right side and Aiden, Gary and Devin sat on the right.
"So...i got a notification on my phone this morning that said there's suppose to be a dinner party tonight, hosted by Ebony and the mayor of Snowville. Everyone gets to dress up like the victorian era." Finn said.
"Sounds like fun." Aiden said before taking a bite of his syrup-covered pancakes.
"Yeah. Fun." James added dryly. This was so typical of his mother. She expected him and the family to attend one of her events...yet she couldn't be bothered to have dinner with them last night because of a text she had gotten from the mayor, requesting her assistance at the mall. Which he doubted--No--he knew it wasn't true. The text had merely been an excuse for her to get out of having dinner with them. He knew he wasn't suppose to know that...but he did.
"So...everyone excited for Christmas? It's only-"
"Eight days away, i know, i can't wait!" Gary said excitedly, cutting Bonnie off.
"Me either." Devin added.
"I can't wait for the Christmas festeval this afternoon. It always made me feel so nostalgic." Steffy said.
"Christmas events fill people with many feelings, Steffy." Thomas said.
"Like joy, love, kindness and the desire to help those who are less fortunate than others." Hope added while smiling.
Loud banging was heard at the front door outside in the living-room, interupting the family's breakfast.
"OPEN UP! THIS IS AN URGENT MESSAGE FROM THE NUTCRACKER PATROL!" Shouted a male voice.
"Wonder what that's about." Finn said.
"I'll answer it." Bonnie said as she got up from the table, followed by exiting the dining-room through the push-open door.
