I've been meaning to write about these Depths Worms for days now. I can't believe I forgot. Perhaps it's the toll this place takes on my mind, or maybe I was too focused on the endless discoveries in the caves. But these worms—oh, they're one of the worst threats I've encountered down below.

They're unlike anything I've seen on the surface. If you ever spot a glowing blue flower in the caves, don't even think about picking it. It's a trap. The Depths Worms lurk beneath, waiting to strike. And when they do… it's bad. Really bad. These creatures are fast, relentless. They'll chase you for an absurd distance, their twisted bodies writhing through the ground. What's worse is that they never come alone. There's always more than one. And if you try to fight them solo? Good luck. Their health is monstrous, and their bite—oh, their bite—it's devastating. I've been mauled by them more times than I care to count.

I've tried a few things to fight them off, but nothing seems to work for long. Tooth Traps are useless down here, which makes sense, I suppose. The worms don't trigger them until they've already surfaced, and by then, you won't have time to reset the traps. But here's something that does work: Bee Mines. Yes, even down in the caves, the bees come to the rescue. The worms don't seem to handle the bees very well at all, and it gives me a chance to escape or fight back. Dodging the worms is possible if you keep moving—constantly which is tiring... But that only works for so long, and it makes it nearly impossible to do anything down in the caves. They're drawn to anything you try to harvest. Light bulbs, berry bushes, mushrooms—it's like they can sense when I'm trying to collect resources. They even gravitate toward built structures, which means my camp down there is always in danger of being attacked. Every time I return to the entrance, there's a chance they'll be waiting for me.

I've found one solution, though: Bunnymen. It's… strange, but building Rabbit Hutches in areas where the Depths Worms are lurk actually helps. The Bunnymen hate the worms and will attack them on sight. It's a good defense, but… I can't help but feel like I'm relying on these creatures a little too much. What happens when the Bunnymen fall? What happens when the worms grow stronger, more numerous?

For now, I'll keep the Bunnymen close, keep my Bee Mines stocked, and keep running when I hear the telltale rumble of the worms beneath the ground. But I know they're not going to leave me alone. The deeper I go, the worse they'll get. It's only a matter of time.
