New life as a Villain
Chapter Two: The one wherein a villain learns that he's not the only one of 'his kind'
It had been seven months since Allister Archer had been reborn into the world of his favorite manga and anime series, Boku no Hero Academia. He didn't exactly expect to be reborn as Samidare Asui, the younger brother of Tsuyu, but he'll take things as they come. The fact that he also reborned with a total of fifteen quirks was a nice bonus too, a bonus he figured was granted due to the fact that he had been isekai'd to this world.
He had secretly been watching Izuku's training with All Might on and off ever since the first time he saw them from a far while he was doing recon on them while they were cleaning up Dagoba Beach. Allister had no intention of tripping up Izuku's story; if anything, he planned to puff Izuku up actually. Allister had figured that Izuku deserved a lot better than the deal that he got in the manga back in Allister's previous life.
And Allister planned to make sure Izuku got it by giving him the perfect villain to go after. Granted, Allister still had no plans to lose ultimately in the end, but he still wanted to help along Izuku's pro hero career. And with the goods that he had acquired, Allister was confident that he would be able to cement Izuku's name in the annals of history in this world as one of the greatest pro heroes that had ever worked the profession.
While Allister had his villain subordinates run things for him while he's out, Allister himself will maintain the life of Samidare Asui. In Allister's previous life, he was a studious, top student. That very mindset helped him out at school here in spades, putting him well above the rest of his peers. Allister learned that Samidare had always been a gifted student, but upon learning on his first day of school in this world that even Samidare isn't that gifted, he decided to scale it back for the sake of maintaining appearances.
He was still top of his class, and more than a few kids, just boys, were jealous. One time, one of the boys tried to punch Allister in the face and be an overall bully. It not only failed because Allister used Acceleratle a little bit to sidestep the would be bully, but apparently the would be bully got in trouble. Not just for the attempted bullying, but also because the would be bully had been accused by the school of using his quirk in public.
Allister became a legend at school for having that boy put in his place, despite doing nothing but sidestepping out of the way and doing no fighting whatsoever. "It is not my intention to, as it were, rock the boat," Allister said, "I intend to stick to being good, because pro heroes have to be good in order to be heroes." The teachers took Allister's response at face value, appreciating that a student had no intention of being a troublemaker.
The school also saw Beru Asui, the mom of the Asui siblings, get a bit mad when she visited the school upon hearing a kid attempted to bully her son. The school assured Beru that Samidare was able to avoid being hurt by the other kid, and also didn't even fight back which was a point in favor of the sole Asui brother. After all excitement was settled, the school day was over, so Beru took her two elementary school aged kids home.
...
"If Samidare got into any trouble because of what that little brat tried to do, I'd march right down to the school and tear the principal a new one!" Ganma Asui, the dad of the Asui siblings, said when the Asuis sat down to dinner that night.
"Well the principal assured me that Samidare didn't do anything wrong," Beru remarked, before eating a bite of dinner.
Nodding once in agreement, Tsuyu remarked, "I do have a lot of trouble imagining Samidare doing anything bad."
"Well pro heroes aren't bad, right?" Allister asked, "I figure being and remaining good will help me with becoming a pro hero."
Both Ganma and Beru chuckled in sincere amusement. "Ah, you wanna go down the same path as your big sister, huh my boy?" Ganma said, a kindly and fatherly amused smirk on his face, "Well she is one whose example I want both you and your little sister to both follow."
Tsuyu let out a sincerely amused chuckle of her own. "Yeah, a lot of what I want to do as a pro hero, I'm inspired to do so that I can be someone that Samidare and Satsuki can look up to."
"You'll kick all of the villain butt, Tsuyu!" Satsuki declared, drawing more sincerely amused chuckling out of Ganma, Beru, and Tsuyu. Dinners like this were something that Allister missed back in his previous life; his dad back there died before Allister started middle school, and a few months prior to Allister's run in with Truck-kun, he lost his twin sister to an accident. Allister was left with just his mom, two younger sisters, and an aunt by that point.
Sure, he regretted leaving his family back in his previous life, but here in his new life, Allister found the warm, comforting family bond that he had steadily lost. He loved this feeling, of being with all of a family that was his. Allister made a mental note to ensure that no-one in the Asui family would die, or be seriously hurt, or otherwise be seriously screwed over. He owed it to Tsuyu and Satsuki and Beru and Ganma because they all had given him something he had been missing, had been craving, for so very long.
The warm, comforting feeling of what a family is supposed to make one feel.
About a month before Izuku and his peers began their first year at U.A., Allister was out of the Asui household. He was handling some business with his organization he had amassed for himself, and it was a day off school; as far as the other Asuis were aware, Samidare was either out with a friend or going to a bookstore for a new book.
Allister was in his dragon form, he was never not transformed around his subordinates without a proper disguise, as he was looking on while Beros, Rappa, and a good few Shie Hassaikai grunts were cornering a few thugs from a small time gang of villains, little more than petty thugs, in an abandoned warehouse. "Hey ya idiots," Rappa said, "This here warehouse is Felgrand's Horde turf. The hell ya think yer doin' messin' around here? You wanna get a taste of the Rappa?!"
"We weren't trying anything! Honest!" said the cornered thug who took to being the spokesman for his group, "We just wanted to hide from Elay's Way!"
Beros perked up at that. Allister did as well, although his dragonic features didn't betray that his interest was piqued. "Elay's Way?" Beros said. She aimed her hand bow at the 'lead' thug, trained an arrow right for his gut. "Explain," Beros demanded coolly.
"It's a rising gang of quirked criminals," said the 'lead' thug, "There's supposedly six elite members and a dozen mooks, and all eighteen of them follow their boss Elay."
"What kinda person is this Elay?" Rappa demanded, letting out a breath.
Beros's nose crinkled up a bit as she caught a whif of Rappa's breath. "You need to stop drinking with Deidoro," Beros said, "No wonder your words and manner or speech are different. You're drunk right now, aren't you?"
"Hey, we wuz jus' celebratin' a major haul iss all," Rappa replied, "What's wrong with-"
"Rappa, Beros, focus on the interrogation," Allister cut in, making the cornered thugs flinch as the dragon in the room spoke up and he didn't sound like he liked the talk getting off course.
Nodding once, Beros said to the thugs, "You heard Felgrand. Continue telling us about Elay's Way and this Elay person."
Gesturing to Beros, the 'lead' thug said, "Supposedly, the boss of Elay's Way, Elay themself, is actually a ten year old girl who killed the previous bosses of her elite subordinates and convinced them to serve her. They're now one of the most profitable criminal gangs of quirk users in Japan."
Allister was going over the information in his head. He knew that the League of Villans was going to be popping up eventually, but where did this Elay's Way group come from? Also, the name of the leader of Elay's Way. Elay. It reminded Allister of something that he hadn't heard since he was still alive back in his previous life.
Allister focused on the 'lead' thug. "What all else do you know about this Elay girl?" Allister asked.
The thugs quaked, frightened by the gravely voice of the dragon. No-one, not even the dragon's own subordinates, had any idea he was actually a ten year old boy. "She... she wears some sort of hooded mask thing that's red and the cloth going over the back of her head looks like red spiky dreadlocks," the 'lead' thug said, "It also has a domino mask like part attached to it that goes over her eyes. And this may sound crazy, but I think she has multiple quirks."
"Ha! I'm not drunk enough right now to believe that!" Rappa laughed, his booming voice carrying on through the warehouse.
Allister would though, and as he thought about it, the more and more things were falling into place for him. He was wondering... did... did he somehow get isekai'd to this world as well? Allister was wanting to be sure. To the cornered thugs, Allister said, "You guys are seeking refuge from Elay's Way. That's what you are trying to say, right?"
"Yessir, Master Dragon-sama," replied a second cornered thug.
"...I have an interest in meeting with Elay," Allister said, "If what I feel is true, then Elay may be inching in on my turf and business interests, and I can't be having that. If I send with you guys one or two of my top followers, can you take them to see Elay's Way so they can arrange a meeting for me and Elay?"
The cornered thugs looked a bit surprised. "You... you want us to go see that crazy girl?" said the second cornered thug, looking like he and the other cornered thugs were all being asked to cut off a pinky finger each.
"Tell Elay and her followers that you all are members of Felgrand's Horde," Allister said, "And that any attack on you guys will draw the ire of a dragon upon Elay's Way."
The cornered thugs looked a bit more relieved upon hearing Allister say that; they probably think having a powerful dragon threatening to swear vengeance if they're hurt is good protection for them from this Elay girl. That told Allister that the thugs think that he can take Elay in a fight and win. He made a mental note of that, but still wouldn't go into things here guns ablazin'.
He told the cornered thugs to wait in the abandoned warehouse until Beros came back to them. Allister was still unsure of things here, so he didn't wanna send Beros herself and Rappa with the thugs to arrange a meeting between Felgrand's Horde and Elay's Way. He didn't want to send Beros because she's his number one (also she's surprisingly his ONLY female subordinate, so he found himself surprised to be a bit protective of Beros because of that), and he didn't wanna send Rappa because he's drunk right now.
Beros returned to the cornered thugs roughly forty-five minutes later with Setsuno and the Serpenter twins Ena and Dio. Setsuno would be the main diplomat and the twins would be his bodyguard. The goal, Allister told them, was to arrange a meeting between their two groups to try to peacefully talk things out and hopefully smooth over any feathers that needed smoothing over.
Allister hoped things would be settled well, although he couldn't help but shake the feeling that he was about to get a blast from his past.
...
A few hours after Setsuno and the Serpenter twins were sent with the cornered thugs to seek out Elay's Way to arrange a meeting, the group, led by Setsuno, came back to a different hideout that Allister owned. "Hey boss," the first cornered thug said to Allister, "After we explained ourselves, we told that crazy girl that you wanna talk and she surprisingly agreed to it."
"I gave them the address of our warehouse hideout we were at earlier, and set midnight tonight as a meeting time," Setsuno said, "Will that be a problem?"
Allister gently shook his head. "No, it will be no problem at all," Allister replied. Ganma and Beru were both traveling for work right now and wouldn't be home for a few days. This left Tsuyu to watch over herself, Allister, and Satsuki. Allister can just use New Order to place rules on Tsuyu and Satsuki while they're asleep to keep them asleep until he got back. And thanks to his Stamina quirk, he was certain he'd be able to stay up long enough to cover the meeting.
Looking to Allister, the first cornered thug said, "Umm, do we have to be there, boss?"
Gently shaking his head, Allister replied, "No, there's no need for you guys to go." Allister was a bit amused with how the cornered thugs were all now deferring to him as their boss; obviously they recognize his power, his command. "Setsuno," Allister began, "How many of Elay's followers did she say she was bringing? Or did you not ask?"
"I did ask, sir," Setsuno replied, "I would have been stupid not to since we're two rivaling gangs arranging to meet with one another. Elay said that she'd be bringing two of her elites and four of her rank and file to the meeting."
"Assuming that she keeps her word on that, I shall respond in kind," Allister remarked. Allister said that he would be bringing Rogone and Tengai as his elites, and four of the rank and file thugs from the Shie Hassaikai as the rank and file. He would tell his selected followers to be at the designated meeting spot by ten-thirty PM that night.
Satsuki's bedtime is eight PM, and Tsuyu clocks out about an hour later. Allister can easily wait until Tsuyu is settled down and keep her asleep with a New Order rule, do the same to Satsuki, and leave and get to the warehouse with time to spare. A damn shame he can't bring a book to read; it's very difficult to read a book made for humans if you're transformed into a dragon.
Allister supposed that he can entertain himself by musing about certain things until Elay gets her sorry little butt to the meeting.
At around eleven-forty-five that night, Allister was waiting with Rogone, Tengai, and four rank and file level thugs in the warehouse designated for the meeting between Felgrand's Horde and Elay's Way. "Hey boss," Rogone began, "What if that Elay person don't keep her word and bring more followers of hers than she promised?"
"Assuming that Setsuno told Elay and her followers about me and what I am," Allister replied, "I'm certain that she'll keep her word if she's smart."
One of the rank and file level thugs that Allister brought was about to speak up, but stopped short when a door in the warehouse opened up, and Allister plus his followers saw a few persons, clearly villains, file in. Four of them, two each of guys and girls, were clearly the rank and file level thugs. Two of the villains Allister recognized as Hoyo Makihara and Swordkil, villains from the second and first BNHA movies back in Allister's previous life.
However, the last person to walk in was clearly this Elay person that Allister and his followers were expecting. She was indeed a child, no older than ten, just as is was said. She wore a mask slash headdress slash hood thing that resembled... umm... it resembled the head of Ugandan Knuckles for reasons that were making Allister think that he was actually having a meeting with that person.
Elay wore a red cloth poncho, like what you'd see people in Mexico wear, red sweat pants, and white boots. The poncho covered the rest of Elay, so Allister couldn't see what else she wore. "Oh shit, the enemy boss is a dragon," were the first words that Elay spoke upon entering the meeting location and seeing Allister.
Allister, due to his extensive knowledge of the BNHA series, was able to identify the voice of Elay, and thus identify Elay herself. She's Mahoro Shimono, one of the Shimono siblings from the second BNHA movie back in Allister's previous life. Did... did that person actually reincarnate as Mahoro, much like how Allister himself reincarnated as Samidare?
It was clear that Allister held the advantage here, given that the potential other reincarnate had no idea who he was and wasn't expecting to run into a dragon. Allister also saw that the nameless thugs plus Hoyo and Swordkil were all on guard. They may get antsy due to having to deal with a dragon during these negotiations.
"Ma'am, you may wanna take a defensive position behind at least two of the lads," Swordkil was heard by Allister muttering to Elay, "We were NOT expecting a male Ryukyu to be the boss of the other organization."
"And you may wanna watch your language, ma'am," said one of the nameless thugs, "Our boss you may be, you're still a young kid."
Elay dismissed the nameless thug's concerns. "I can handle myself here." Elay strode forward, stood before Allister and his followers but kept her eyes on Allister himself. "So you're Felgrand, eh?" said Elay, "I have to say, you sure know how to be a host that holds all the cards."
Allister arched a wry eyebrow. He wanted to maintain the upper hand here regardless, but he still felt that certain things ought to be pushed here. "Well I do know a thing or two, Elay," replied Allister, "But before we move onto discussions, there's something that I want to ask you." Clearing his throat, Allister took his first serious gamble since being isekai'd to this world.
"Do you know da wae?"
Even with her Ugandan Knuckles headdress thing covering the upper half of Elay's face, Allister was able to tell that she went wide eyed with surprise at Allister's question. It was as if something was starting to click in her mind. "Da wae is a path to enlightenment," Elay remarked, "Do you know the song of my people?"
Allister gave a single nod in the affirmative, right before he proceeded to sing the song of Elay's people. "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Allister would have gone on for longer, but he stopped short as Elay was laughing in elated amusement. "Ah ha ha! You and I are of a kind, Felgrand!" said Elay, "I think that we ought to form a sort of partnership, you and I! Our two groups will be unstoppable if we join forces!"
"Indeed, but we shouldn't talk here," Allister said, "And it's a bit late, we all ought to call it a night. We can talk more in the morning."
"Yeah, I'm a bit tired," Elay admitted, "Where should we meet?" Allister gave Elay the address of a library located across the street from the elementary school that he and Satsuki go to; their school would still be on its short break, so Allister had the freedom to meet with Elay.
"I suggest you come alone," Allister added, "Your subordinates may draw attention, I've seen normal people in the streets who merely look like thugs get harassed by police and pro heroes. Imagine if actual thugs were to be harassed as such."
"How will you manage getting to that library?" Elay asked, "You're a dragon."
"I won't be transformed," Allister replied, "Also I won't have any of my subordinates with me. Anyway, the library opens at ten in the morning. If you don't find me, we can meet back here again this time tomorrow and try to arrange a different public meeting."
Nodding once, Elay replied, "Fair enough." Elay then took her head dress off and showed Allister what she really looked like. She really was Mahoro Shimono, Allister saw the second BNHA movie back in his previous life at least twice. "Now you know who to look for," Elay said upon replacing her head dress, "I obviously won't be in costume."
"And I won't be transformed," Allister replied.
"Here's hoping you won't turn out to be some older dude," Elay said, "It'd strike people as weird if a lone little girl was talking to a lone older dude."
"An easy excuse can be generated if need be," Allister replied, "But don't worry, I'm not as old as you are worried about." The meeting soon broke up, and both groups went their separate ways.
"Sir, are you sure that meeting with the enemy boss alone is a good idea?" Tengai asked, "Even if she's just a kid? No way can a kid be the boss of an organization without having the power to back up such a position."
"We will be simply discussing things civilly in a public setting," Allister replied, "Besides, if push comes to shove, I can easily get myself out of there." Allister's subordinates still weren't sure about letting Allister go alone, but he made it VERY clear that he didn't want anyone else butting in on things here. He'll give them the necessary details later.
...Whatever they turn out to be.
It was morning, around ten AM, when Allister in his true form of Samidare was at the agreed upon library. He was gonna read books until Elay, who will be out of costume and go about as Mahoro, will show up. No-one would suspect a ten year old boy spending his day reading in a library, it was the perfect cover for Allister.
After half an hour, Allister saw Mahoro walk around the library, looking like she was clearly looking for someone. Allister put a bookmark in the book he was reading (he still can't believe he found a copy of that book in Japanese, and in the world of BNHA no less) before getting up and walking on over to the lost looking Mahoro.
Allister got Mahoro's attention when he approached her. "Yo, I'm looking for a friend of mine," said Mahoro to Allister, "I don't exactly have time for you, random boy."
"Apologies, I just wanted to ask you a question," Allister replied. He could tell that Mahoro didn't recognize him outside of his dragon form, that gave him a bit of an advantage in negotiations here. But still, he wanted to be fair. Looking right at Mahoro, Allister took a breath and asked her what he hoped would be the question that got things rolling.
"Do you know da wae?"
Mahoro's eyes lit up, her mouth making a big 'O', as things fell into place for her. "YOU'RE-" Mahoro said loudly, only for Allister to cover her mouth with his hand.
He made the sush gesture with the index finger of his free hand over his closed lips. Lowering his finger from his lips, Allister said quietly to Mahoro, "We're in a library. Quiet is key here."
Mahoro understood, even realizing that she very nearly screwed up. "...Sorry, got a bit excited to see you," Mahoro replied, "So you really aren't an older dude, you look to be around the same age as me."
Allister gave a single nod in understanding. "...We need to go to somewhere that we can talk without risk of being overheard," Allister said, "But first, there's something I wanna ask you." Allister took the second big gamble that he bet that he was going to have to make, but he was hoping that it would be paying off for him.
"Does the name Kenny King mean anything to you?" Allister asked. When Mahoro not only made the same excited face of realization a second time but this time it was a bit more pronounced, Allister knew it beyond a shadow of a doubt; Kenny King, his best friend from his previous life, was isekai'd to the world of BNHA as well, same as Allister himself.
...And Kenny was reborn as Mahoro Shimono. Not... the best luck in the world.
END, CHAPTER TWO
Author's notes;
This chapter sees Allister working on both his villain interests and his double life as Samidare Asui. He also occasionally secretly observes the training between All Might and Izuku, intent on making sure that here Izuku will get to keep his powers that he gets. Allister also had dinner with his new family the Asuis, and it makes him feel good to the point that he decides he'll protect the Asuis as much as he can.
About a month prior to the start of U.A.'s Class 1-A (Izuku and his classmates) beginning their first year at U.A., Allister gets word of a villain group he's not familiar with inching in on his claimed turf, so he arranges a meeting with the boss of that group, who he soon learns is Mahoro Shimono who he has reason for to suspect is a reincarnate same as Allister himself. Allister gets Mahoro to agree to meet him alone the next day.
That meeting occurs, and Allister not only confirms that Mahoro really IS a reincarnate, but she's Kenny King, Allister's best friend from his previous life. The two best friends are now reunited, and both seem set on being villains in BNHA. But what will this mean for the story? That will be seen later. Until then, take care.
