Kuri was gathering herbs when she heard cracking and went to investigate.
"Finally! I'm free!" Senku exclaimed.
Senku woke from the petrification at last!
As he gazed around him he surmised that all of humanity remained petrified. However a girl stood in front of him blinking at his nudity.
Kuri dropped her herbs, seeing Senku completely naked.
Senku, not seeing her, grinned and stepped out of the cave.
Kuri stared in shock. Senku finally saw her and stared back, blinking.
"Cover yourself!" Kuri demanded and threw a pile of leaves on his business, then walked away.
Who is she? Senku wondered. An inhabitant of this stone world born from awakened statues? Or a statue herself?
And why did she seem to recognize him?
Senku stood and made himself makeshift clothes, and then went to investigate!
Kuri sat down at her camp, panting. My first naked man…wow…
"Sorry about that, girlie." Senku said. "Just broke free, didn't mean to show you somethin' you weren't ready for."
Kuri huffed. "No need to be all polite. I'm Kuri."
"I'm Senku."
"You scared the crap outta me," Kuri admitted. "I thought I was alone…perhaps forever…"
"You won't be alone ever again," Senku said firmly.
Kuri blusheed. "Bold aren't you."
Kuri had recognized him right away. He seems like he remembers me…subconsciously. That look on his face…
"Ain't gonna shy away that's for sure! Not one millimeter!"
"I see," Kuri smiled fondly. Same old Senku. "Well I have a nice warm fire; and with a little work we can get you properly clothed with animal skins and not leaves. After that…we can build a life here I suppose." Kuri wasn't worried about reviving people.
"Oh? Thanks! You can help me revive people though!
"How are you going to do that?" Kuri rubbed her fingers together by the fire.
Senku grinned. "Just watch me!"
"You wanna save them then. All 7 billion?"
"Yes I do! Ten billion percent!"
"Um…o-ok." Kuri said shyly. "How can I help? It seems that cave is where we both woke up. I was in a corner…"
"It's the nitric acid!"
Kuri looked up at the bats. "Gross. But that's can't be all…I sense we're missing something…"
"Possibly." Senku smirked at the challenge.
"You want to experiment huh? You stay here and make a hypothesis. I'll get together a workplace for ya. This is gonna be exciting, science boy!" Kuri ran off to prepare.
Senku grinned and began working. "This is exhilerating."
Kur headed back to her camp and built a treehouse and lab using magic.
After a while, Senku got hungry and went to find her. Kuri was still working, using spells on the architecture.
Blocked memories flooded Senku's mind. "What the…this is…"
Kuri breathed out slowly. "Magic."
