Pan wasn't sure how long she was out for, but it certainly felt like years. Eventually, she was able to open her eyes, and noticed she was lying in a bed… It'd been far too long since she was in such a comfortable bed. The cots on Dondoro's ship were as hard as bricks. This bed definitely felt familiar. This room looked familiar…

It was her old bedroom. Back at home!

She sat up, then grabbed at her gut as it lurched in pain. She suddenly remembered the punch she received from her own father… He had never even so much spanked her, so it came as a shock when he gave her a full-blown gut punch. 'Well, I did tell him not to hold back…'

She then threw the blanket off her and went to climb out when she also noticed the clothes she was wearing… Her armor was gone and replaced with a floor-length bedroom gown. Something her grandmother would wear… 'Now why the hell did they dress me in Nana-Pajamas?! What's wrong with my usual ones?'

She jumped off the bed and searched her room for the armor Yamura had given her. Surely whoever dressed her in these ugly pajamas had to have put her armor to the side somewhere… Nope, not on the floor, not on her chair, not on the bed, no armor anywhere!

She went over to the closest next and threw open the door. Nope, no armor hanging up anywhere…She instead pulled out one of her old favorite outfits, which she happened to own ten pairs of… When in doubt, nothing beats good ol' red shirt and capris.

Except when she tried to put on the capris, they barely made it up her waist before they got wedged. The girl couldn't even button them. 'What the heck? Did I gain weight?'

Putting on her shirt wasn't any easier. She nearly suffocated herself just trying to get her head through the hole. Once it was finally on, she noticed it didn't even make it halfway down her midriff… She took a look in her mirror, noticing just how more ample she was in areas she wasn't ample before. She was taller, more toned, and those were definitely breasts growing… They were small, but they were there…

'I didn't gain weight…' she thought to herself, 'I just grew up…'

Pan finally settled for her old lounge wear, which was a long t-shirt and baggy sweatpants. A long time ago, they would practically swallow her up, but now the shirt fitted snugly, and the fleece came down only to her knees.

Once she stepped outside of her bedroom, she saw her home was decorated for the holidays, and the smell of Chinese food still lingered. Though it felt like forever that she was unconscious, it apparently was only one night…

She looked over the balcony to find her parents and grandparents seated around each other on the couch. Once they noticed she was out of her room, Chichi wasted no time jumping to her feet and making a mad dash up the stairs to her granddaughter. "PANNNN!" she cried as she wrapped her arms tightly around her, "Ohh, my little girl! I missed you so much! I thought you were dead! How could you run away from home like that?! Don't you ever scare me like that again, young lady!" she bawled loudly.

"Um… sorry, Grandma…" was all Pan could think to say. She looked back down at the others. Mr. Satan was just as emotional, but Gohan and Videl looked rather stern. She figured it was time to face the music and walked down the steps with her grandmother to meet them.

"Oh Pan!" Mr. Satan jumped from his seat and embraced his granddaughter tightly, "Welcome home! We're so glad you're back." He then pulled back slightly with a stern look of his own, "But what were you thinking running away like that? And to hang out with that alien woman who nearly killed you. What's the matter with you?"

"I was just trying to get some training," Pan responded simply, then looked over to her parents. "Have you seen my armor?"

"It's gone," Gohan replied bluntly, "I don't want ANYTHING resembling Freeza or his empire in this house!"

"WHAT?!" Pan cried, "But Yamura gave me that armor! It works great!"

"Too bad," said Gohan, "Because I don't want you wearing that, and I don't want you anywhere near that Yamura woman ever again! You had no business being anywhere near her! You could've gotten yourself killed!"

"She was the only person who was willing to actually train me!" cried Pan, "Well, until now anyway…"

"Yeah, about that…" Gohan narrowed his eyes, "Pan, we're going to have to shelf this training thing for a bit until we settle your punishment."

Pan didn't even hear the last part. "What? Shelving it?!" she cried, "But you said you'd train me!"

"Yeah, I know," Gohan sighed, "Look, emotions were high, and I may have said some things without thinking. But we-"

"So you're backing out?!" Pan spat.

"I'm not dealing with that now!" Gohan spat back, "Pan, listen to me! You ran away from home! You were missing for two years! You were legally declared dead! Do you really think we're NOT going to discuss that?"

"I wouldn't have had to run away if you'd only train me!"

"Pan, you can't just up and go wherever you feel at any time!" Gohan shouted, "You need to be held accountable for your actions!"

"Well, so should you!" Pan shouted back, "Making a promise you can't keep!"

"Enough with the training already!" said Gohan, "You're being so selfish that you can't seem to understand what we went through the past two years!"

"Well, I had to get training somewhere!" Pan snapped, "Nobody seemed to want to take me on for whatever reason!"

"Pan, listen!" said Gohan, "We're just looking out for you! We've seen how you fight, and you just aren't up to par! You can't handle our type of training!"

"Yes I can, because I DID!" Pan cried, "Yamura beat the crap out of me practically every day, but I grew from it, and I learned from her!"

"She should never have put you through any of that, especially without consulting me first!"

"She doesn't need to consult you, because it's up to ME what I want!"

"Do you realize how much of a brat you're sounding like right now?"

Videl, Chichi, and Mr. Satan only watched with mixed horror and awkwardness as the two went back and forth with their screaming match.

"What's wrong with giving me a little bit of hardcore training?!"

"I don't want that for you! Trust me when I say you're not up for it!"

"You won't even give me a chance!"

"Pan, I know how hard that training has been! Remember what I told you before? How I was forced into intense training and having the fate of the world on my shoulders? All I wanted was a peaceful life and study hard to become a great scholar. I was forced into something that should never be put on a child! I just don't want you to go through what I did!"

Pan narrowed her eyes fiercely. "You're a dirty hypocrite…"

"Excuse me?!"

"You say you don't want me to go through what you went through… That you just wanted a quiet, peaceful life as some bookworm. You didn't want to train, but you got forced into it… Well, you're putting me through the same thing! You're not letting me do what I want!"

"Because what you want is NOT good for you!" said Gohan, "Trust me when I say you shouldn't have to handle training like a Z fighter. I know you all too well, Pan. I'm just trying to keep you safe!"

"Keep me safe?" Pan seethed, "Lemme ask you something… If I was your son instead of your daughter, would we still be having this conversation?"

Gohan scoffed. "Pan, that has nothing to do with anything."

"The hell it does!" Pan cried, "Everybody's so obsessed with keeping me safe and babying me to the point I can't even be trained properly! I bet if I was a boy, I'd surpass you a long time ago! But because I'm a girl everybody has a problem with me just fighting and keeping me from reaching my full potential!"

"Pan, that's not true!" said Gohan.

"Well, I mean, I think it's a LITTLE true," spoke Mr. Satan.

"YOU JERKS!" Pan shouted, causing her grandfather to shriek in terror, "I knew it! You're all a bunch of sexist jerks! Sorry for invading your little weiner party, but you're so disgusting for even-!"

*SLAP*

It was no gut punch, but somehow, a slap to the face seemed to hurt Pan worse…

"That's enough!" Gohan screamed.

The others looked on, horrified. This was the first time either parent had used physical discipline. "Gohan...!" Chichi whimpered.

Mr. Satan jumped from his seat, rolling up his sleeve. "Why I oughta-!" He was quickly silenced and sat right back down with one glare from his son-in-law. "Oh, uh, never mind, you got this…"

Gohan turned back to his daughter. "I'm getting sick of this attitude of yours, young lady!" he shouted, "This stops right now! I will decide what training is best for you when the time comes. Right now, NO TRAINING. Not until you learn to think about your actions and how they affected everyone around you!"

Pan tightened her fists in response. She wanted to strike her father, but knew too damn well she didn't have what it took to take him on… and he held the future of her training in his hands.

"Grandpa would've trained me…" she muttered.

"Would he, Pan?" Gohan replied, "He had the opportunity, but he chose another and left us for five years. He had several opportunities, but he again chose to leave. Now enough of this! Go to your room! We'll talk when we both have cooler heads."

Pan's fists shook with rage. She gave Gohan one last glare before muttering, "I hate you…" She then twisted around, blasted back to her bedroom and slammed the door shut behind her with enough force that it formed several cracks in the wall.

Pan had said this several times before when she was angry, but this time it struck Gohan hard… The demi-Saiyan stood there silently, staring ahead blankly.

"D… don't worry about it, Gohan," said Mr. Satan comfortingly, "She throws those temper tantrums all the time. You know she didn't mean it!"

Gohan didn't respond but continued staring silently.

Videl stood from her seat. "Gohan...? Dear?" she said quietly as she approached, "Are you all right?"

"I need to go out," he quickly replied and made a beeline for the front door, "Before I say or do anything else that I'll regret."

Once he was outside, he took to the sky and blasted over the horizon.

Pan, for once, played the dutiful daughter and did exactly as told. She stayed in her room and waited for her father to return. Hopefully he would be more willing to bend on the training bit… But she didn't keep her hopes up. Her dad seemed very intent on making sure she wouldn't reach her full potential… but why?

After crying in her pillow for a good while, then storming around her room in anger and frustration, she was finally calm enough to discuss things further… only Gohan had gone out for a fly and Pan couldn't sense him returning anytime soon. So, she sat slumped against her window, gazing out pathetically at the clouds, left wondering why Gohan was so against her training harder… why everyone was, for that matter. Were they afraid of her getting stronger? Or did they really think she didn't have what it took to be one of them?

If it were the latter… then ouch.

She continued gazing out the window, head pressed against the frame as she blankly stared at the different shaped clouds and the mysterious looking ship slowly peaking through and raising higher into the sky…

What, what?

Pan never did get a good look at the ship she was in, but she recognized certain parts of the side… and that definitely reminded her of whose ship it was.

"Yamura?!"

The ship raised higher and higher with no issue. Yamura must have finally found a way to fix and operate the ship herself… But she didn't want her friend to go! She made a promise!

Without even thinking, Pan jumped up from the windowsill and burst forward, smashing through the window glass and shooting as fast as she could towards the rising ship.

Gohan was halfway across the globe, trying to cool down before he could talk with Pan again, when he suddenly felt a spike in her energy.

He froze in his tracks. She was not where she was supposed to be… and she was definitely somewhere she had no business being.

He twisted and shot off again, heading home where he felt the energy spike.

"Yamura!" Pan cried as she flew after the ship. Fortunately it was still slow going. Yamura must not have learned all the controls just yet… "Yamura! It's me! Open up!" Pan called as she finally approached the ship. However, it kept going forward as if she wasn't there. The quarter-Saiyan banged on the side, desperate to get Yamura's attention, but nothing.

She then remembered before what Yamura had said about a secret side entrance, the one on the side of the ship that she had shown her the night before… It was the 10th bolt up, but what side?

She zipped around, pressing random bolts on the ship, each one the 3rd bolt from the bottom up. After twenty tedious tries, she saw the shape of a rectangle light up, and a small door slide open. Her excitement quickly turned into panic as soon as it opened, it immediately began to shut. Thank goodness Yamura taught her Ki Spritz, which allowed her a quick burst of speed using her ki, and she made it inside the ship, narrowly having the door close on her.

'You're not gonna keep me out that easily!'

"Pan!"

The girl barely had a chance to turn around when a hand tightly gripped her throat. "What the hell are you doing here!" Yamura hissed, "I thought I told you to leave me alone!"

"You… you promised… to train me!" Pan gasped.

Irritated, Yamura then threw Pan into the wall of the ship. "Idiot!" she screeched, "What makes you think I want anything to do with you!"

Pan slowly righted herself up. "You took me in before…" she muttered, "And I want to keep training."

"And I want you off my ship before your battle ax of a father comes after me again!"

"Don't let him scare you…" Pan said as she got herself back to her feet, "This is about what I want. He's already backed out of a promise… and so did my uncle." She glared up fiercely at the alien woman, "I'm not about to let YOU do the same!"

Yamura clenched both her teeth and her fist. "And what about you?" she sneered, "You promised I could have the chance to kill you if you ever became annoying." A ball of energy began to form around her tightened fist. "You gonna keep that promise?"

Pan sucked in a deep breath at the sight. But then she closed her eyes, relaxed her body, and straightened up. "I did promise that didn't I?" she said, "Well… I won't be a promise-breaker like the others." She held out her arms in a welcoming gesture. "Go ahead then… Kill me."

Yamura was taken back a bit. Was this kid REALLY being this stupid? "I mean it!" she shouted, "Last chance to leave!"

"I'm not going anywhere!" Pan shouted back, "You wanna kill me! Here I am! Do it already!"

Yamura snarled even more. "Okay, fine… if you want it so badly…"

She barely even thought about shooting the ki ball in her fist at Pan before the alarms went off. "ENEMY ATTACK! ENEMY ATTACK!" a low voice boomed down the corridors.

The energy in her fist quickly fizzled out as Yamura twisted around and sped down the corridors towards the control room. Pan rushed to follow.

Once in the control room, Yamura reached the center panel and furiously tapped at buttons. A hologram screen appeared in the center of the room, showing the side of the ship, and sure enough, "Daddy Battle Ax" as Yamura had earlier called him…

"PAN!" Gohan shouted furiously as he threw punches and kicks left and right at Dondoro's ship, "Get out of that spaceship right now! I know you're in there!"

While he couldn't feel Pan's energy, he knew for sure she was inside. Everything made sense now… This strange spaceship was capable of cloaking ki. That's why nobody felt the first attack by Dondoro and his army before. And if Pan was on this ship for the past two years, that's why she was able to disappear without a trace.

And he had a strong hold on Pan's energy up until he returned home, when it suddenly disappeared in an instant. And now he knew why.

"Pan, don't you DARE go ANYWHERE with that woman!" Gohan shouted as he continued punching, kicking, doing anything he could to force himself inside.

"The hell with this," Yamura grumbled, as she moved to the front of the room and pressed more buttons.

Pan heard the low rumbling of what she assumed were engines firing up. "You're leaving?"

Yamura casted a quick glare back at the girl. "Yes," she replied sternly, "Are you coming? Because once I leave, this ship is never going to see Earth again."

Pan gulped. Yet another on the spot decision.

"Make up your mind, or I'll make it up for you! Either you stay, or you go with Daddy! Either way, I'm not sticking around for another beat down from him."

Pan quickly looked back at the hologram screen at her father, who was resorting to ki attacks now. The ship was resilient, but now it was starting to take punishment, with all the dents getting worse…

"PAN!" Yamura shouted, "Make up your mind! Or else-"

"Go!" Pan cried, "Dad's determined to keep me down… and I won't let him! If I want to get stronger, then staying with you is the only way!"

The ship was battered, but nowhere near down. Gohan pulled back and grit his teeth as he breathed hard. "That does it…" he muttered, "You want to do this the hard way? Fine by me!"

He cupped his hands to his side and formed a large, blue energy ball.

"He wouldn't!" Pan cried as she watched Gohan begin to form a Kamehameha.

"He won't…" Yamura grunted as she grabbed a level on the console and pulled it all the way forward.

The engine roared loudly and inside the turbines glowed brightly as the ship prepared to blast off.

"Kaaa… Me… Ha… Me…" He threw forward his arms, "H-"

His attack was interrupted as the powerful blasts from the engine turbines hit him full force, knocking him backwards and forcing himself to shield his body as the amount of energy hitting him. He was blown back several hundred yards as the ship blasted away full speed into the atmosphere and disappeared in no more than a second.

By the time Gohan lowered his arms, the ship his daughter was on was no bigger than a sparkling speck in the sky.

"N… no…" Gohan muttered, his whole body shaking as he slowly descended back to the ground in despair. "Pan…"

He had lost his daughter… for the second time.

"PAAAAAAN!"
