Crowd: RAH! RAH! HORRAY FOR NAUGUS,OUR HERO!

We all watched in horror as almost everyMobian in New Mobotropolis & Knoteholecheered for Naugus as their hero, although we wasn't looking topleased with it*

Ixis Naugus*fake laughing*Do you see New Mobotropolis andKnotehole? I can protect you from Dr. Eggman. Tell me . . . Who should be your hero?

Crowd: YOU!

Geoffreyturned to King Nigel, who was standing in the crowd with Alicia, Elias, Megan, & Alexis as Naugus jumped down*

Geoffrey St. John: It seems the people have spoken, Your Majesty. My Master would like to reclaim his original position as Royal Wizard to the Kingdomof Acorn. As you recall, he served you loyally until you both, along with your wife, were banished to the Void.

King Nigel Acorn: Then what was all that talk about him becoming King?

Geoffrey St. John: Merely a jest, Your Highness. After all, the place of the Royal Wizard is at the King's side, not the throne.

Suddenly, Sonic got in between both of them*

Sonic: No, no, no! Have you all lost your minds!? Naugus is the bad guy!

Geoffrey St. John: We can choose the should choose our heroes.

The crowd agreed with him*

Sonic: You want to shake things up when the Death Egg is flying around!? You really want to do this when a real hero is standing right in front of us!

I started to get embarrassed when I realized what he was about to do*

Abigail: Sonic . . . Please. Don't do this now.

Sonic: No, Abby! Everyone needs to know what you did to save everyone!

My face turned even more red when I realized there was no stopping him now. Sally & Bunnie saw my embarrassment & went over to comfort me*

Sally: Just let him get this out of his system.

Bunnie: Don't worry, Abby-Girl.

I smiled at them, glad I had two good friends by my side. Sonic then told everyone about the World Roboticizor & how I nearly sacrificed myself to save everyone*

Citizen #1: A Roboticizor that can Roboticize the entire world?

Citizen #2: How terrifying.

Citizen #3: Abigail went up against that and is still a Mobian?

Citizen #4: Well, of course. That technology doesn't work anymore, remember?

Citizen #5: Then that means . . .

Citizen #6: Sonic is right! Abigail is the real hero!

Citizen #7: She saved us all!

Citizen #8: Three cheers for Abigail!

Everyone started to gather around me, cheering & calling me a hero. Bunnie, Antoine, Rotor, & Amy made a wall in front of me so wouldn't get swamped. Sonic smirked at Naugus & Geoffrey*

Sonic: So much for Naugus being the "Hero of the day."

They both just glared at him. All the praise was starting to get a little overwhelming for me. Soon, Sally got in front of us*

Sally: Okay, okay! Enough! *the crowd got quiet* I'm sure you all have questions for Abigail and want to give her your thanks, but right now, she and the rest of the team are tired & need to rest from today. Once she's fully recovered, you can thank her.

The crowd immediately understood & backed off. I smiled at Sally in thanks. Then I turned back to see that Sonic & Naugus had gotten into a fight about who is the rightful hero of the Kingdom of Acorn. Just then, the King stepped in*

King Nigel Acorn: Alright, enough. What's done is done. Let's focus on one problem at a time. Abigail, I would like to see you after we get this whole "Royal Wizard" mess sorted out. Naugus. Geoffrey. Let us discuss this further with the Council*

Ixis Naugus: Yes, Your Majesty.

Abigail: Y - Yes, Your Majesty.

The Royal Family, along with Sally, went back to the castle,Naugus & Geoffrey right behind them, & the crowd dispersed, leaving me & Freedom Fighters alone*

Amy: Sonic! What do we do now?

Tails: We need a plan to stop Eggman before we fixes the World Roboticizor!

Sonic: Yeah . . . I think I've got something. You guys fill in the Council and everyone else about the Death Egg.*he then scooped me up in his arms, bridal style* Abby andI'll go check on Nicole.

Tails: But, Sonic . . .*Sonic zoomed away, me holding on to him tightly* You, Sally, and Abby were the only ones on the Death Egg.

Amy: We don't know the details . . .

(Third-Person POV)

As soon as they were alone, waiting outside the Council room at Acorn Castle, Naugusturned to Geoffrey*

Ixis Naugus: What on Mobiuswas that!? I thought the plan was to put meon the throne as King!

Geoffrey St. John: Yes, that was the plan. But unfortunately, because the fear among the citizens has weakened since the concert, your spell didn't deliver the results we had hoped forand since everything in this city is decided by the public's opinion, I'm afraidwe don't really have a choice but to go along with this arrangement.

Ixis Naugus: So all that grandeurwas for nothing!

Geoffrey St. John: Not necessarily.

Geoffrey looked confused*

Ixis Naugus: What do you mean?

Geoffrey St. John: With your status as Royal Wizard restored, youcan get close to the King.

An evil smile grew on Naugus'sface as he heard this new plan*

Ixis Naugus: Yes . . .And once I'vecompletely earn his trust again, I'll also have the Council under my once their guard is completely down, I'llget rid of them all. And once I amKing, my first act will be to order Abigail Catz to give me her pendant. With it's powers in my grasp no one will ever stand in my way again, not even that Quickster!

(Abigail's POV)

We zoomed all the way to Freedom HQ. As soon as we got to the science lab, he put me down & went to one of the computers*

Sonic: Yo, Nicole! Patch us , y'know?

She didn't answer*

Abigail: Nicole? Are you in there?

Suddenly, Nicole appeared on the screen, looking surprised & then she smiled in relief*

Nicole: Abigail! You're alright! I was so worried! I thought you had been -

Abigail: I'm okay, Nicole. Luckily, *I held up my pendant* I was right. This protected me.

Nicole: Thank goodness.

Sonic: Anyway, like I said we need you to patch us through to Angel Island. We need to see Knuckles. And while you're at it, the city needs to be patched up.

Nicole: Certainly.

Just then, a Warp Ring opened behind us*

Sonic: Thanks.

Nicole: No problem.

We went through the Ring& found ourselves at the Master Emerald Shrine on Angel Island. Knuckles, Charmy, & Julie-Su were waiting for us*

Julie-Su: There they are. Am I done playing operator now?

Knuckles: Sure. Thanks, Su.

Sonic: Just the Echidnas we wanted to see! Dude, we need a Warp Ring!

Knuckles: Mighty and Ray took one . . .

Charmy: . . . And send us letters through it!

Knuckles: . . . And you two just stepped through the spare. What's up?

Abigail: Well, it's like this . . .

Sonic & I took turns explaining what happened*

When we finished, Knuckles was less than happy with me*

Knuckles*to Sonic* YOU ALMOST DID WHAT!?

Sonic & I both covered our ears at his yell*

Sonic: Yeah . . . We figured you'd be mad.

Knuckles: Mad doesn't even begin to cover it! And when were you going to tell us about the Death Egg!?

Sonic: You're on a flying island! You'd see it coming?

Julie-Su: Easy, Knux. . .

Abigail: Sonic, calm down . . .

Sonic: Look, just loan us the Warp Ring so we can hop over, find Eggman, and destroy his Death Egg and Roboticizor once and for all.

Knuckles: No way! That's a bad idea.

Sonic: What do you mean, it's - !?

Knuckles: One - You have to know exactly where you're going to use it! Two - If he hid the whole Death Egg from you, then who knows what else he's got hidden in there? And three - If you bungle this, Eggman could get the Warp Ring and use it against us!

While the boys were fighting, Julie-Su shrugged in& then looked at me. I caught her eye & then she looked away. Neither of us had said a word to each other since the Enerjak fiasco*

Sonic: If this was about finding all your Ancestors, you'd be all for it!

Julie-Su: You think it's so simple!? For one thing, we were told what happened to the Brotherhood! So we tried to use a Warp Ring to rescue them . . . But even though we knew where to go, it wouldn't transport us. Dr. Finitevus invented them, so he must have some special way of getting them to work between Zones. Even if it had worked, we'd have no idea what dangers were on the other side. That was my point then, and it still applies now.

While she was explaining, Knuckles sat down on thesteps of the shrine*

Knuckles: So it look like we both have to be patient until a opportunity arises.

Sonic: Forget it. We'll figure something else out.

The Warp Ring we used reopened & Sonic went through. I turned back to Knuckles, Julie-Su, & Charmy*

Abigail: Sorry, for wasting your time, guys.

When I stepped back through the Ring, I saw Sonic talking to Tails*

Sonic: To see how useless Knuckles is. What's wrong now?

Abigail: Sonic! Knuckles is trying his best!

Tails: Antoine just arrested Geoffrey for treason!

Sonic: Really!?

I was surprised when Iheard this too. I knew Geoffrey had it coming, but I didn't the new "Royal Wizard/Protector of New Mobotropolis & Knotehole"would allow it. Suddenly, Ben Muttski ran into the room*

Ben Muttski: Sonic! Tails! Miss Abigail! Emergency!

As soon as Ben finished telling us what was happening, we ran back to the city & stopped at the half destroyed Stadium. We all looked up & a feeling of dread began to grow in my stomach*

Citizen #1: What now!?

Citizen #2*to her husband* We have to move out of this city!

Citizen #3: Naugus! Naugus will save us!

Sonic: Are you getting a sense of deja vu?

Tails: More than you know. I hoped I wouldn't see these guys again for a long time.

Rotor: I'll get Nicole to raise the city's defenses.

Tails: I better see if I can get the X Tornado up and running!

He ran off*

Sonic: First those Ixis jerks Naugus and St. John stink up the city, then Eggman tries to wipe us out of existence. For everyone's sake, we're gonna take these turkeys down before they torch the town! BRING IT ON BATTLE BIRDS!

Up in the sky, above the city, was an army of Battle Birds*
