Chapter 3: Holiday Spectacular:
Story:
The Grinch was on his way home, where he figures he can just be alone, but then he saw someone he wanted to avoid, a man who's as happy as a little boy. "Bricklebaum," says the Grinch, "the happiest man in Newville! He thinks we're friends!" The Grinch then saw avoiding him would be a difficult task, but he has lost his mask! "He'll recognize me for sure!" The Grinch tries to sneak past Bricklebaum. The Grinch did not wish to speak with him. He would rather eat a bomb. Bricklebaum then sets up his decorations, including a snowman, but when it inflates, it hits Grinch. Not according to plan.
"Oh, Mr. Grinch," says Bricklebaum, "I am so sorry! Bad snowman! Let me help you with... Hair dye? Gorgeous Green?"
"How did that get there," asks Grinch.
"I didn't mean to make you uncomfie," says Bricklebaum, "we all gotta fight the greys! I, myself, use chocolate explosion!"
"If you want to apologize, apologize for this whole thing," says Grinch.
"The Mayor wants us to go all out this year," says Bricklebaum, "for the Christmas Spectacular!"
"That's today," asks Grinch.
"Sure is," says Bricklebaum, "everyone will be there... including a certain someone!"
"I don't know what you're talking about," says Grinch.
"You know," says Bricklebaum, "Martha!"
"I couldn't care less about Martha," says Grinch.
"C'mon, Man," says Bricklebaum, "we know you still got your eye on her!"
"Nonsense," says Grinch, "that was years ago!"
"Then how come every time you sabotage the town, not cool, by the way, you always make it a point to avoid her?"
"It's a coincidence," says Grinch, "look, I tried when we were kids, and I was humiliated! It's clear she'd never go for a green hairball like me!"
"Well, maybe if you didn't walk around naked," says Bricklebaum, "what's that about?"
"Shut up," says Grinch. The Grinch then walked away, knowing that he is going to dread this day.
...
Cindy and her dad were home and Donna, Cindy's mom was setting up the lights. And since you can't see it, trust me, it's a sight.
"I think this time, I'm going to outdo that Martha," says Donna.
"Donna, are those your lights," asks Martha.
"I have to keep up with you, Martha," says Donna.
"Well, look what I have!" Martha then reveals a gizmo that sets up the lights faster than you can say 'that doesn't rhyme'!
...
The Christmas Specatacular was here and now was the time to pick the meister of cheer. "So, are there any nominations," asks Mayor Augustus.
"I nominate the Grinch," says Cindy.
Everyone looked in shock. Many of their thoughts were blocked. "I like that idea," says Bricklebaum, "but I have a feeling the Grinch won't!"
