Chapter 4: Cheermeister:

Story:

As the Grinch plays his pipe organ, he hears a knock on the door. He goes to see and it's the girl from the store. "I guess I should've known you'd escape from that trash can," says Grinch.

"Mr. Grinch, my name is Cindy."

"Don't care!" The Grinch was about to close the door, not wanting to see her anymore.

"Wait, I have come to invite you to be this year's Holiday Cheermeister," says Cindy.

"Holiday Whoey-Whatey," asks Grinch. Cindy thought this would make it better as she hands him the letter. The Grinch takes a look. Cindy thought this would be fun, but the Grinch can only say, "That's a good one!"

"I know you hate Christmas," says Cindy, "but maybe this will help with that! You have to have some good traits! Mr. Bricklebaum says you're his best friend!"

"He's an idiot," says Grinch.

"But you have to accept the award," says Cindy.

"Wait, did you say award," asks Grinch.

"Yes, with trophies and everything," says Cindy.

"And I won?"

"You won," says Cindy.

"Were there any losers," asks Grinch.

"Well... the Mayor wasn't too happy," says Cindy.

"As much as I don't like him, that isn't enough," says Grinch.

"Mr. Bricklebaum tells me you like Martha and she'll be there," says Cindy.

"That was years ago... but it would be nice for me to turn her down for a change," says Grinch.

"So, will you come," asks Cindy.

"Alright," says Grinch, "I don't know what it is, but something about you reminds me of a younger, less hairy me! Who knows, maybe this will change my whole outlook on life!"

"Really," asks Cindy.

"No," says Grinch as he pulls a switch that causes Cindy to fall down a trapdoor.

...

Cindy's back in town where her friends find her. "So, how'd it go," asks Groopert.

"Well... I don't think he's coming," I said.

"Big surprise," says Ozzy.

"Yep," says Axl.

"Everyone tried to warn you," says Izzy.

"Hey, Cindy." It was the Mayor's nephew. Burke was his name and seeing him, sets Cindy's heart in flame. "Sorry it didn't work out with the Grinch, but my uncle told me..." Unfortunately, when Burke speaks, Cindy doesn't understand at all, but all she could hear was blah. "Anyway, Merry Christmas." Burke walks away.

"Wait," says Cindy, "what did he say?"
