The sound of laughter echoed down the halls of the Ninja Academy as Naruto Uzumaki bolted through the doors, late as usual. His bright orange jacket was as loud as his voice, which rang out with a mix of frustration and determination.
"Oi! Don't start without me!" Naruto shouted, bursting into the classroom, completely ignoring the disapproving stares from his peers.
Iruka Umino sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Naruto, this is the third time this week. If you want to be a ninja, you can't keep showing up late."
The class erupted into whispers and giggles. Sasuke Uchiha sat in the back, arms crossed, with a smug grin on his face. "Tch, typical dobe."
Naruto's fists clenched as he stomped to his seat. "You think you're so cool, huh, Sasuke?! Just wait, I'll show all of you—I'm gonna be the Hokage someday!"
The class laughed harder, the declaration falling flat, as always. Naruto slumped in his chair, his irritation growing. Despite his bravado, being the center of ridicule stung. It was the same every day: scorn from the other students, side glances from the teachers, and that unshakable loneliness that followed him everywhere.
The First SparkTraining dummies lined the Academy courtyard as the students practiced basic Taijutsu techniques. Iruka observed them carefully, stepping in to correct stances or give feedback.
Naruto gritted his teeth, panting heavily after sparring rounds with Sasuke and Kiba. He had lost every match, his strikes too slow, his reactions too clumsy.
"Focus on your balance, Naruto," Iruka said, trying to sound encouraging. "Taijutsu isn't just about strength—it's about timing and precision."
Naruto didn't respond, his frustration boiling over. His classmates' sneers cut deeper than any lecture. He wanted to be stronger. He needed to be stronger.
As the session ended and the other students went inside, Naruto lingered behind, punching a training dummy over and over. His arms ached, his knuckles were raw, but he didn't stop.
That's when he heard it.
Ding.
A faint sound, like a bell ringing in his head. Naruto froze, blinking in confusion. "What the…?"
Before he could question it further, a glowing blue interface materialized in front of him. It was translucent, like a hologram, and completely surreal. Words and numbers scrolled across it.
SAGS ActivationWelcome, Naruto Uzumaki.
The Stat Amplification and Growth System has been activated.
Current Stats:
You have earned XP for completing Taijutsu training. Progress to next level: 15%.
Naruto stared at the screen, his jaw hanging open. "What… what is this thing?! Is this some kind of Genjutsu?"
The screen didn't answer, but the information remained visible. He waved his hand through it, half-expecting it to vanish, but it stayed. Slowly, realization dawned. "Stats… like a video game?"
His heart raced. A grin spread across his face. "This is awesome!"
He punched the dummy again. Nothing happened. He tried another kick, then a jump, all while glancing at the screen. No changes. Frustration built up again. "How do I make it work?!"
As if responding to his thoughts, a small prompt appeared.
XP is earned through effort, perseverance, and significant achievements.
"Effort, huh?" Naruto muttered. He cracked his knuckles and smirked. "Alright, system or whatever you are. Let's see what you got."
First Signs of GrowthThe next day, Naruto threw himself into every exercise at the Academy. Push-ups, laps, target practice—he did them all with a vigor that surprised even Iruka. Every effort brought a faint, satisfying ding in his head, and the progress bar in his stats screen crept upward.
By the end of the week, his stats had slightly shifted:
Strength (STR): 4 Agility (AGI): 5 Endurance (END): 6 Intelligence (INT): 2 Chakra Control (CHA): 1The changes weren't massive, but Naruto felt them. His punches hit harder. His stamina lasted longer. For the first time, he was keeping up with Kiba in laps, even pushing ahead toward the end.
"I don't know what's going on with you, Naruto," Iruka said one day, watching him spar. "But I've got to admit, you're improving. Keep it up."
Naruto's grin couldn't have been wider.
Unleashing the AvatarOne evening, as Naruto trained alone in the forest, he hit a plateau. Despite hours of practice, his progress bar refused to budge. Exhausted and frustrated, he slammed his fists into the dirt. "C'mon! Move already!"
A sudden surge of energy coursed through him. His body tingled, and a glowing form materialized beside him. It was humanoid, taller than him, with a shimmering, cosmic aura. It had no face, only glowing eyes that stared at him with an intensity that made his heart pound.
Avatar of EXP Activated.
EXP gain increased by 10x. Stat distribution split: 50/50.
Naruto stumbled as he felt his strength drain. The mysterious figure mirrored him, punching a nearby tree. The impact splintered the wood. Naruto's eyes widened. "Whoa…"
Realizing what this meant, he grinned. "Alright, big guy. Let's train together!"
And so began Naruto's journey, not just to become a better ninja, but to master the strange power that had awakened within him.
