Chapter 10: Cindy:

Story:

The Grinch went to the first house of the night. "Our first stop, what a delight!" The Grinch then climbs down the chimney, got stuck, but continued with one shimmy.

...

The Grinch sees it all and got to work. "I just love being a jerk!"

Grinch: You're a foul one, Mr. Grinch
You're a nasty wasty skunk
Your heart is full of unwashed socks
Your soul is full of gunk
Mr. Grinch

The three best words that best describe you
Are as follows, and I quote
Stink
Stank
Stunk!

"And now for the tree!"

"Santa," asks Cindy, "why are you stealing our tree?"

"Uh... there's a light that won't light," the fake Santa lied, "so, I'm... taking it back to my workshop to fix it!"

"I didn't know you did that," says Cindy.

"Yeah... well... there's a first time for everything," says Grinch.

"Santa, there's something I want to ask of you..."

"I know, you want presents," says Grinch.

"That's not wha-"

"Every child wants presents," says Grinch.

"I just want you to remember the Grinch," says Cindy.

"What," asks Grinch.

"I know he's mean and smelly and his hands are cold and clammy, but I think he's actually sweet," says Cindy.

"Sweet," asks Grinch.

"I wish you could join us when we gather around the tree," says Cindy, "if you close your eyes, you could feel a warmth inside!"

Then the Grinch patted Cindy's head and sent her off to bed.

"What a strange little girl," says Grinch, "and a real bad judge of character!" Grinch then took the tree and continued his holiday crime spree.
