Chapter 12: The Grinch Cuts the Roast Beast:

Story:

The Grinch arrives at the house, but he was scared. "They're gonna hate me," the Grinch declared.

Lou opens the door and sees the Grinch. "Don't move an inch! Come on in," says Lou.

...

The Grinch was in the house, and nobody was mad. The Grinch wasn't sure if he should be glad. "Is that Mr. Grumpy Grouchy Grinchy," asks Bricklebaum.

"Bricklebaum, good to see you," says Grinch.

"Come here!" Bricklebaum hugs him. "It doesn't count if you don't hug back!" Grinch then returns the hug.

"I can't believe I was invited," says Grinch.

"I wish I wasn't," says the Mayor.

"No hard feelings, right," asks Grinch.

"As soon as they impeach me, I'm going to get my revenge on you!"

"Something tells me he's going to take your cranky job," says Bricklebaum.

"I know I stole Christmas, but..."

"It's not just that," says Bricklebaum, "there's another reason he's mad!"

"What," asks Grinch.

"Me!" Martha came and gave the Grinch a gift for Christmas. She grabs him and gives him a kiss.

The Grinch stood there frozen with shock, and he could no longer talk.

"They're gonna have weird green kids," says Bricklebaum.

...

It was dinner at last and the Grinch might finally let go of the past. "This is my first Christmas dinner," says Grinch, "what do I do?"

"Would you like to cut the roast beast," asks Donna.

"Mind if I say one thing," asks Grinch, "I've spent years hating Christmas, but I realize what I truly hate was being alone! But I'm not alone! I have all of you and now I finally feel like I'm a part of something, so thank you!" Augustus tried to fight it, but even he had tears in his eyes.

"That's my best friend," says Bricklebaum.

"To love and kindness," says Grinch. And the Grinch cut the roast beast.
