Team 7 walked down a long dirt road, the sun sinking slowly in the sky. The air was warm, but there was a noticeable shift in the atmosphere. There was something about this mission that felt different to Naruto. He couldn't shake the feeling that this wasn't going to be just another easy task to pass the time.
Their mission was clear: escort a bridge builder named Tazuna from the village to the Land of Waves. A simple job, really. Or so they thought.
As the group made their way forward, Kakashi led the way, his one visible eye scanning the surroundings. Sasuke, as usual, walked in front with a focused expression, while Sakura was beside Naruto, occasionally glancing at him with a concerned look on her face. But Naruto wasn't really paying attention to the others. His mind was elsewhere.
He had spent the last week training alone, pushing himself further than ever before. The progress had been monumental, and he felt stronger, more capable. The Avatar of EXP had been a crucial part of that growth, but the tradeoff was still something he wasn't entirely used to. Having his stats halved every time he activated it made him feel vulnerable, but the boosts it gave were undeniable.
Still, the true test of his abilities had yet to come. This mission… this would be the first real trial for Team 7, and Naruto couldn't afford to hold back.
Naruto's Level Reflection
As they walked, Naruto absentmindedly pulled up the familiar menus in his mind. The Stat Amplification and Growth System (SAGS) had become second nature to him now. Every time he looked at his stats, it was a reminder of how far he had come—and how far he still had to go.
He scrolled through the menus and examined his current level.
Current Stats:
Strength: 35
Agility: 40
Endurance: 30
Intelligence: 25
Chakra Control: 35
Level: 18
EXP: 5,200/10,000
Avatar of EXP: Active (10x EXP Boost; Stat Split: 50/50)
Current Stat Split:
Naruto's Stats:
Strength: 17
Agility: 20
Endurance: 15
Intelligence: 12
Chakra Control: 17
Avatar of EXP Stats:
Strength: 18
Agility: 20
Endurance: 15
Intelligence: 13
Chakra Control: 18
Naruto's gaze lingered on his Avatar of EXP stats for a moment. The split was always there, always a part of him whenever he activated it. The power boost was great, but it came at the cost of making him feel more fragile. He had learned to adapt to this tradeoff, but he still wasn't sure how far he could push it without burning out.
"I've gotten stronger," Naruto thought to himself. "But is it enough?"
There was a part of him that wondered if the progress he had made was enough to overcome whatever dangers lay ahead in the Land of Waves. It wasn't just about his strength or chakra anymore. He had learned that there was so much more to being a ninja. Strategy. Teamwork. Awareness. He had seen how Sasuke seemed to handle situations with ease and how Sakura had steadily improved. He couldn't let himself fall behind anymore.
Still, there was no denying the boost in confidence that came with looking at his level and stats. He had grown. But it wasn't just his raw power he needed now; he had to learn how to use it effectively.
The Mission Takes a Turn
The Land of Waves was just over the horizon when the first sign of trouble appeared.
Out of nowhere, a group of masked mercenaries appeared on the path ahead. Their leader—a tall, broad-shouldered man with an eyepatch—stepped forward, blocking the road. Naruto's heart raced. This wasn't supposed to happen on a low-rank mission. They were supposed to be guarding Tazuna, not facing armed opposition.
Tazuna, the bridge builder, looked visibly worried, but he said nothing. He must have known this wasn't just a simple job. Kakashi stepped forward, his eye narrowing as he assessed the situation.
"Stay alert," Kakashi said calmly. "These men are skilled. Be ready."
Naruto felt a surge of nervous energy. This was the first real threat since his Avatar of EXP had activated. He wasn't sure if he should engage in the fight using his boosted stats or if he should hold back and save his strength for later.
Sasuke stood ready, his Sharingan eye flashing as he prepared to engage. Sakura was looking at Kakashi, awaiting instructions.
The Fight Begins
The mercenaries charged, and the battle began.
Naruto's instincts kicked in. His Agility had improved, and he darted forward, weaving between the attackers with newfound speed. He activated the Avatar of EXP, the familiar sensation of his stats being split rushing through his body. His strength surged, but the price of halving his own stats still lingered in the back of his mind.
With a powerful punch, Naruto struck one of the mercenaries, sending him flying backward. But just as quickly, another enemy lunged at him. The speed of his opponents caught him off guard, and he barely managed to dodge the incoming strike.
"This is different. I need to stay on my toes," Naruto realized, focusing more intently.
Sasuke took down another mercenary with swift, calculated movements, his Sharingan giving him an edge in the fight. Sakura, although still lacking in physical prowess, had grown in her understanding of chakra. She provided support by using precise ninjutsu to create distractions, making it harder for the mercenaries to focus on any one target.
Despite the overwhelming odds, Team 7 worked together. Naruto's chakra control had improved, and he used it to enhance his physical abilities while still relying on his instincts. His Endurance helped him stay in the fight, even as the mercenaries pressed harder.
Victory and Reflection
When the last of the mercenaries had been defeated, the team took a moment to catch their breath. Tazuna was visibly shaken, but he was unharmed. Kakashi nodded, pleased with the outcome.
"Well done, everyone," Kakashi said. "We're not out of danger yet, but this was a good first test. Naruto, you did well out there."
Naruto stood, panting from the exertion, his body throbbing with the aftereffects of the battle. As he looked down at his stats once again, he realized that his progress wasn't just about numbers and boosts anymore. It was about knowing when to act, how to rely on his teammates, and how to control the power within him.
The battle had shown him that even with his growth, there was always more to learn. And as long as he kept growing, kept training, there was no limit to what he could achieve.
