A lot of preparations had to be made since he was going to be absent. The person who was the most frustrated by this was Kouga. He was so frustrated by it that he was going to attempt to quit if not for Ayame coming in to assist him. Sesshomaru held a large press conference where he addressed the religious persecution. "Many around the world may wonder why this happened so suddenly. The truth is that that god saw fit to come into my castle and attack me. I do not tolerate violence or threats made towards me. None are allowed to live. Thus, any followers of his are traitors to the crown." The crowd was still before erupting into a bit of chaos.

"Our lord fought a god!?"

"No wonder so much was destroyed, and we were called to evacuate."

Inuyasha was to the side and listening to everything. Ever since he explained, the youkai had been relentlessly teasing him. Calling him mate, kissing him here and there just to watch him squirm. At one point he even groped him. It wasn't as if they hadn't already slept together but….it was making things feel weird. He never thought to have a mate. His youkai, however, was all for it. It was so embarrassing.

Sesshomaru then had another conference just for the leaders around the world under him. "I will be gone for at most a year. Should I return and things have fallen into disarray, expect your lineage to be…removed." The youkai was aware that most of them were praying for him not to return. To stay away so they didn't have to fear such a beast any longer.

When all was said and done, he stood staring at the hanyou and waiting. Inuyasha sighed and bit his lip looking at him. "Is there anything we must do?"

"Come here…." Inuyasha waited for him to come closer before reaching up and pulling the man down into a long deep kiss. Allowing his divinity to flow and coat him a bit. He needed it to be intense because moving through dimensions was hard on mortals. Sesshomaru growled as he felt himself harden, wondering what Inuyasha was doing in this moment. He came closer, their bodies pressed tightly together. However soon they were standing in a field and Inuyasha was pulling away from him. His youkai was greatly displeased. "Horny old dog…" Inuyasha murmured as he quickly walked away, expecting him to follow.

Sesshomaru took a moment to look around. It looked like a planet, but the sky was strange colors. He slowly began to follow his brother. He could see people working fields. "Are they human?" He asked as he caught up to Inuyasha.

"Yeah. Slaves." He mumbled. "They need to eat so they farm a few types of food." It made him uncomfortable. He couldn't wait to get the rest of his power back. It would be one of the first things he got rid of.

"Gods don't eat right?"

Inuyasha nodded, "It's not that they don't. They don't have to, and the food is kind of atrocious. Any cravings or desire to eat died when I first tried it. Most have also long since lost their material bodies and are just divinity. There's a god of abundance who does cooking and influences culinary arts, but he died around the same time as the old sun god." The hanyou figured he could also grow better crops because of his power but he wasn't a cook, and neither were the souls in his temple since they didn't need to eat and most had died eons ago.

Sesshomaru nodded as Inuyasha continued to explain things as they walked. "Alright, you looked around enough? I'm gonna transport us directly to my temple." Sesshomaru confirmed, and moments later he was standing on wood. It was warm here, though not unbearably so.

"Master! You've returned! There are so many souls waiting for your very word!" The man exclaimed happily.

Inuyasha groaned. He'd hoped his ego was exaggerating. The hanyou went to the front of his temple and quietly looked through the window out of sight. There were so many people out there, laughing and sharing stories. A few made him freeze. He looked at Sesshomaru nervously before looking back out there. "I just thought about this. If you ever became a god there'd, probably be a lot of souls coming here for vengeance."

Sesshomaru was about to look out as well, but Inuyasha stopped him. "Only look if you can keep it together and won't be offended by seeing actors of the past. I mean it Sesshomaru. I don't want to see your mind break apart."

The youkai stared at him as if to say, 'be serious right now'. Inuyasha was still staring at him, "Even your soul can be hurt Sesshomaru."

The youkai grinned down at him coming closer, "So you're worried then?" The god frowned staring at him. "There's a lot I wanna pay you back for anyway…" The hanyou was caught off guard when kissed again. "You left me high and dry a moment ago, didn't you?"

"Sesshomaru!?" Inuyasha exclaimed.

"Come now, it's nothing we haven't already done now, is it?" The hanyou wasn't expecting this and was extremely embarrassed. It was different when he was drunk, but somehow someway, he found himself being roughly bounced in the youkai's lap. It'd been a while, and it felt good. Sesshomaru did have an attractive body after all. They were in his large bedroom and Inuyasha was quietly moaning, holding on to the king's shoulder's allowing his body to relax further.

Sesshomaru's grunting and warm breath at his neck as he held him tightly felt good. It was easy for Inuyasha to forget who this was in the heat of the moment but his youki was coiled tightly around his own. It felt really good. He hadn't slept with a youkai since before he'd gone to the god realm before Ren, and hadn't been on the receiving end from one until Sesshomaru. Fuck did it feel good. "Gonna cum again…wanna cum again…" He moaned. Sesshomaru continued to thrust as his body tightened and eventually released on his stomach. He continued thrusting into his own orgasm, before slowing to a sensitive stop.

They continued into the night and Inuyasha found himself waking with the youkai curled around him. It was odd to feel comfortable like this. Uncomfortable even. He sighed and stared at the ceiling, listening to his even breathing. What would being mated to his brother even be like? Surely the man had a soft side for his lovers; the hanyou just couldn't picture it. He thought about his behavior from before they left. If it was like that, he wondered why he hadn't found a mate in all these years. Surely if he had emotions, he would have felt lonely at times.

He sat up silently, his hair a mess. Phasing though everything, he quietly walked away and to his bathing chamber. He sat in the water a lot longer than he intended to before getting dressed. His servants began to fuss, and he let them do what they wanted so they'd stop. They always felt the need to adorn him in gold. He decided to send them to assist Sesshomaru, certain that he wouldn't mind it as much as he did before preparing some rooms for the youkai.

With that out of the way he went to his lands. His temple sat on the edge, where all temples met. Since he was slated to be a powerful god, it came with perks. Taking a deep breath, he blew. Waving his hands a few fields were made, each containing many youkai fruit and vegetables. He couldn't let the man starve after all. He was going to have one of his sun puppies' caregivers make meals when the youkai needed to eat. He looked a ways into the distance, at his partners temple. He wondered what she'd think about all this.

He assigned a few people to take care of the field. He knew Sesshomaru didn't eat often which was helpful. By the time he was heading to the front of the temple to deal with the souls outside, Sesshomaru was up and walking around as some of his servants prattled on about the god realm and sun god. "This incarnation of the sun god is truly fascinating! He's very different but underneath it all he has the same love and appreciation of even the smallest creatures!" Inuyasha rolled his eyes and kept walking, his brother following behind him. "Stay in the temple, Sesshomaru. Don't want someone to try and kidnap you before you get acclimated."

Inuyasha went out on the steps with the lord and servants watching from behind. The youkai clenched his jaw at all that he saw. He was frowning deeply and could understand why Inuyasha had said what he said the previous day. He didn't understand how Inuyasha was remaining so calm. "Go back. Go be reincarnated." He stated coldly.

"Inuyasha we came to help…"

"I do not need your help."

"Yep, same old Inuyasha right?"

Inuyasha tried not to sigh, he was expecting this to eventually happen but not so soon. He thought he'd be ready for it, but he wasn't. From what he understood about the underworld there were several cases where many would simply remain there. His jaw was tight as he looked at all the actors from his past. Some friends, some foes.

"You're souls. Sustaining you takes power away from me. You would be weakening me with your presence. I understand and appreciate you wanting to help me deal with my enemies but I'm alright as I am. They can't even attack me directly. Sesshomaru's a mortal and kicked his ass even. I'm not the same Inuyasha you used to know. I'm a god. Go back and be reincarnated."

"I'm proud to see how you've grown." Sesshomaru even flinched when the man spoke. "One son has conquered the world while the other has found godhood. I couldn't be more pleased if I tried."

Sesshomaru was watching from the doorway, his stomach tight listening the youkai he'd lost so long ago. He wanted to apologize for not helping him that day. He was so power hungry when he was younger that he couldn't appreciate the things he had. Looking at the man like this made him nervous. If his father spoke to him, what would he say, what should he say? He felt someone tug on the back of his clothing, had he been the type, he would've flinched. It was Inuyasha's ego but…it was larger than the last time he saw it. It looked to be about 6 this time.

It was quick to hug him. He could only sigh. "Ugh for fucks sake, none of you are gonna drop it are ya?"

A round of hell no's were heard. "Fucking hell. Come on." He groaned. They began to chat again, but many froze when they saw him and the small bundle of energy that'd climbed to his back.

"….it's…"

"Lord Sesshomaru…"

"Don't ask me questions. He's helping me kill some people. Drop it." Inuyasha growled. They could hear their whispers wondering about who the lord was now.

Sesshomaru was unsure of what to do when he made eye contact with his father. This was stressing him out and making him uneasy. His attention was grabbed when the creature suddenly bit him. He couldn't pry the thing off him and growled lowly. "Inuyasha remove your creature."

"Wow, it's bigger than I thought it'd be." He mumbled. "Hey, let go. Go back to where you're supposed to be." He said grabbing it and forcing it to let go. It frowned, "Don't you dare start crying."

A loud piercing cry rang in the area and Sesshomaru and Inuyasha were dealing with a repeat of what happened before. "Who might this child be? It looks as you do Inuyasha, but I don't remember Moroha mentioning a younger sibling."

Inuyasha sighed. "He's not a person. He's my power. It's me in an energy condensed form with a bit of a will of its own." It continued to cry and even laid on the ground screaming. "Oh, you annoying little fuck, if I could strangle you I would." Inuyasha glared at it, the crying beginning to frustrate him.

"Enough creature." Sesshomaru spoke coldly. "If you do not cease this behavior, I'll return to the material plane." The creature immediately stopped crying and stood. It was staring at him with warm but lifeless eyes. "….it's unnerving….no heartbeat, no breathing, but acts as a child does." Sesshomaru spoke.

"Wow, for the one who conquered the world to be saying so must mean something." Inuyasha chuckled, picking it up and telling the souls to follow him. It was laying its head on his shoulder and staring at Sesshomaru.

Inuyasha brought everyone to a hall and sat a distance away from them. His current servants were going to teach them and get them acclimated to living in the realm of gods. Sesshomaru was seated with him and watching. He felt a tug at his sleeve and looked at the creature once more. "…don't leave aniki…" Inuyasha flinched at its words and looked at it in shock. "Stay with me forever." It said with a frown.

"You can fucking talk!?" Inuyasha exclaimed. He'd never heard it utter a word and none had ever spoke of it doing so. "Yukara has a lot to explain." He growled. None of his servants assigned to keep an eye on it ever reported speech from it. All gods had told him that they didn't talk, aside from to their base.

Sesshomaru was still holding eye contact with the creature. If this was Inuyasha, did that mean Inuyasha wanted him to stay? "I won't be going anywhere so long as you behave and do what Inuyasha tells you." It didn't react to his words and continued to stare at him before blinking slowly and closing its eyes and going limp. "If it isn't alive, why does it sleep?"

"Yukara said it could be because of how I've been treating it. I basically gave it a nanny and treat it like an actual child, so it sleeps a few times each day, even though the sun is always shining somewhere." He explained, trying to calm his rapidly beating heart after hearing his ego speak out loud. Sesshomaru watched the puppy ears on the creature flick as it seemingly experienced a dream.

"Why does it stare at me?"

"I dunno. Trying to figure that out but it just says it's happy aniki is here."

Inuyasha and Sesshomaru finished watching the orientation and Jiha came to get his ego, to take back to his pocket dimension. It snuggled into her as it was carried away. They watched them be separated by the types of duties they were looking to have. Defense, administration, grounds keeping. Many decided quickly and Inuyasha still didn't feel ready for this. They always said this was difficult for new gods, some even broke down seeing those from their past. He was just happy his mother wasn't there.

Eventually he was sitting in a room with Sesshomaru and rubbing his temples. "There's about 13 gods I'm trying to kill. 14 if we include Atsurabi. It helps that you're plummeting his worshippers, and I think I can use that to my advantage. I'm sure they'll try their hardest to avoid offending you. A few of the bold mayor try to eliminate you. Either way, I'm killing them regardless."

"Do you know how to kill them?"

"Yeah, all except Atsurabi. I need the rest of my power to do it. Ugh but I don't understand what I need from you." He groaned. He was tired of this and wanted to kill them already. It was frustrating.

"Perhaps it'd be best not to dwell. There is a chance your strangely behaving ego may reveal something." Sesshomaru spoke, thinking about the riddle. "With your brother, what you need." He looked at his brother, "Is there a chance that what you need from me is not an item? But perhaps my presence?"

"Whoa what?"

"Perhaps it's meant to mean, with your brother you will find what you need. It would explain your egos behavior, asking me to stay." Inuyasha's eyes widened 3 times.

"Oh, fucking me! You're a genius aniki!" He exclaimed. "It makes so much more sense like that!"

"What shall we do then?"

"I guess the same that we did in the material plane. Just wait and see for a bit. I guess you could treat it like a vacation, it's not like you've taken any breaks the past thousand years." Inuyasha was giddy.

"Fair point."

"Anything in particular you wanna see or do?" Inuyasha asked sitting back down, he was happy as hell.

"I could think of a few things but I'm sure you're still exhausted from yesterday." Inuyasha blushed immediately. "So, I would like to learn more about the beings that reside here. Hopefully I will find a way to eliminate Atsurabi myself."

"Wow, you're really not letting that go huh?"

Sesshomaru studied his features, "Do not act as if you do not know me Inuyasha. You are the only person I've ever forgiven for harming me. All others have perished."

Inuyasha pursed his lips into a thin line. He didn't know how to respond to that. Sesshomaru had been weird the past few weeks, he didn't know how to feel about it. Sure, he didn't feel as awkward about sleeping with him as much anymore, but the teasing and obvious flirting had been uncomfortable. He didn't know his brother anymore. "Okay…" It was the only thing he could think to say.

"The most important thing you must remember, is that no matter how benevolent, kind, or supportive of Master Inuyasha a god will seem. They are conniving and not to be trusted. You should have faith in our master's power. Only his counterpart, the moon goddess can be trusted. It's been that way for eons." The head of the servants announced.

"Are they all truly so untrustworthy?" Sesshomaru asked.

"The goddess of peace is fine. Her counterpart is not. Then, the gods that are under my domain like Adini are fine too, for the most part, but many of them have been reborn and hadn't met my previous incarnation." Inuyasha explained as the souls were beginning to be led away.

"Inuyasha, Sesshomaru. We should speak in time." Lord Touga spoke with a gentle smile before following the others. Sesshomaru simply nodded and watched him walk away. Inuyasha could hear his rapidly beating heart as they watched him go.

Over the next few days, Sesshomaru continuously woke to Inuyasha's ego snuggled up to him in bed. Of course, his youkai couldn't detect it, so he never woke when it was nearing him. He'd become used to his father's presence but many of those close to Inuyasha couldn't become used to him. He stood and moved away before it had the chance to latch onto him like the leech it behaved as.

It followed along happily as the youkai made his way to where he could sense Inuyasha. The creature happily grabbed his hand and walked along side him joyfully. Sesshomaru paused when he saw Inuyasha standing and speaking to their father. "It's been over 2000 years since you died. Why the hell didn't you go be reincarnated?"

"I figured I'd wait for you both." The large youkai said with a small smile. "You've truly grown to resemble your mother."

Inuyasha tried not to sigh as he stared at the man. The hanyou turned to him and his ego. "Ugh, how many times do I have to tell you to stop clinging to him. I'm going to lock you in your pocket dimension if you don't stop." He growled grabbing it and holding it like a sack of potatoes. It flailed at first but calmed. "Everyone around me is giving me a headache…" he grumbled. There was a loud crashing sound at the front of his temple. "For fucks sake!" He growled making his way to the noise after handing his ego to Jiha.

When he arrived, there was a large pool of acid, melting away pillars causing a floor to collapse. "Sun god sama! I'm sorry! I-I didn't know!"

The doors were open and there was obviously some type of explosion. "Atsurabi's fucking leeches." He growled. "Rimari are you alright?"

"Yes, sun god-sama! I do not deserve your concern!" She kept her head on the floor, and he wanted to groan.

He looked back at Sesshomaru. "Aniki. Could you do me another favor?" He said with a grin.

Sesshomaru scowled, "What would you have me do?"

"So, Atsurabi clearly wants to die. You've already plummeted his power, do you wanna go see how long it takes to trap him with me?" Inuyasha examined all the damage. "I think I'll go ahead and destroy his temple too. You said you were interested in the realm, right?"

"I've missed having a challenge." He said with a sinister grin. "My younger brother knows me well."

"Alright let's go. You all know the drill for when I'm absent." Inuyasha mumbled as he grabbed his hand and blinked away. Sesshomaru felt his stomach turn when they stopped outside of a large temple. "Stand back aniki."

The sword in his hands transformed, he was grinning wildly, "Wind Scar!"

Having not seen the attack in many years, Sesshomaru was surprised at its strength. Inuyasha had grown well. The building put up a fight but there was only so much the material could take, and much of it began to collapse. Atsurabi was there quickly attacking him. "I'll make sure your next incarnation behaves." Inuyasha growled as their fight grew. Many lesser gods came to the wind gods aid and Sesshomaru jumped into action. He was happily slicing those gods apart with a grin. He'd needed more of this since his battle with Atsurabi.

It was invigorating as he was unconcerned about the damage and havoc he wreaked so he really let loose his strength to stretch his wings. They were up against about 17 gods. Sesshomaru was happily taking his time cleaving them and waiting for them to potentially regenerate to try and kill them again. As the temple found itself nothing more than rubble, Sesshomaru noticed one thing that was extremely out of place as the souls began to flee. It was a bird. A large bird but a bird, nonetheless. He got that same eerie feeling from it that he did from Inuyasha's creature. It wasn't breathing, making noise, or anything. It didn't even blink.

He caught it quickly and felt freezing winds coat him. His hand was extremely cold to the point where it'd begun to become numb. He just barely dodged Atsurabi's attack. "So, this is it then? Your ego?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Aniki let it go!" Inuyasha shouted furiously as he darted to him. Sesshomaru threw it another direction, but his brother brought his hand down happily and a spear flew from one of the many suns. It pierced the creature.

"No!" Atsurabi panicked, feeling himself losing much of his precious power, his divinity.

Inuyasha grabbed the spear and pulled. The bird had shrunk a great deal but was still alive. The hanyou twirled the spear over its body, practically daring it to move. Eventually, the little creature bowed to him and Atsurabi fell to his knees. The tip of the spear was in his face suddenly. "Do you really want to die? Or will you bow your head as your ego has you filthy traitor."

"Fuck you! You'll never learn to kill me! I am wind itself." He growled angrily.

"Funny. My predecessor killed many of your incarnations." Inuyasha waved a hand and light bent. Sesshomaru could feel the area becoming hotter and hotter. "I have so many records, I just haven't found the records on how they did it yet." He smiled. Inuyasha pulled a small glass jar from his robe and began to chant. Atsurabi's eyes widened as he tried to fade away and escape, but the jar was a powerful tool. It sucked him into it, slowly as he finally let go of his pride and begged Inuyasha not to trap him where wind couldn't reach.

Soon there was a swirling vortex in the jar. Inuyasha grinned. "This'll give me enough time to figure out how to get rid of you permanently." He laughed looking at the others. "I have records on how to kill most of you. Scram if you don't want to face it!" The remaining gods did just that and Inuyasha stretched, "Ah that feels better. A beer would be nice right now."

"What are you going to do with him Inuyasha?"

"Either trap him into a contract or we can figure out exactly how to kill him."

"How clever." Sesshomaru stated, looking at the damage and destruction they'd created. "What about his ego?"

Inuyasha looked at the bird that was staring at them blankly. "Leave it for now. Oh, shit your hand!" Sesshomaru's hand was turning black because of the intense frostbite necrotizing the flesh. The hanyou grabbed his hand and reached towards the sun. Sesshomaru watched in fascination as the damage began to heal.

"Incredible." When he'd seen the damage, he assumed it would have to be cut off, it would've eventually grown back but this was less troublesome. He and Inuyasha walked for a bit talking about the battle, but the youkai found himself feeling regret. Had he not been such of fool they could have always had moments like this. He'd probably regret the way he'd treated his younger brother for the rest of his existence.
