Species II - Primeval Humans

A now extinct subspecies of humanity, one purely designed and created by God Himself and formed with his powers and a pinch of angel help. These humans were 'near immortal' (how, why, and when the original Primevals died, or ascended to Heaven, is unknown. It is known that Adam, at least, is still active within Heaven), immune to disease, extremely resistant to pain and barely unable to be harmed by mutations or other genetic defects. Primeval Humans were, most likely, only truly vulnerable to blessed elements or the most powerful demonic armaments and magics, making them, as most angels, almost impervious to pain among other things.

Per the Original Sin, Primevals were cast out of Eden, sent to Earth to mingle with the rest of the 'naturally' evolved humans. There they crossbreed, their blessings and other augmentations given by God, having been at least partially stripped away from them as punishment, being lost over the eras. As such, with inbreeding now a possible problem instead of a non issue, and the constant cross breeding until humanity at large had at least trace amounts of their blood in them, Primeval Humans went from semi divine to above average in many ways.

In time all that remained from the gifts of God and the angels that worked on them were fully gone. In turn they outperformed the natural humans that did not mingle with them, rendering the Homo Neanderthalensis extinct and giving rise to the Homo Sapiens from the Homo Erectus. As such the natural experiment of an 'evolved humanity' came to an end as a much more advanced and capable breed created a much better suited hybrid species that would, in time, diversify all over the planet Earth.

With this hybridization going for all of Earth's human history it is no surprise Primeval Humans are now extinct, but their blood and few surviving gifts are strong within many of humanity's children. These individuals and family lines are known as 'Descendants of Adam'. They are the only ones formally given a place within The Order, and the most common source of Exterminators (From Auxilia to Exterminators proper and the much more close to angelic born Exorcists) and other human turned angels after their death. They more commonly spawn women, but this varies from belief system to belief system as the faith in Heaven has a great effect on their bodies and abilities.

Generally their souls are given slightly (to not say 'An absurd level') more leeway when entering Heaven, but they are judged much more harshly if they fail in the eyes of the Lord. This judgment can sometimes go so far as forcefully bringing their souls back into the cycle instead of allowing a Primeval descendant to go to Hell if they know too much or have been part of The Order. As such apostasy within The Order is judged harshly, and contact with demons, or any fall to vice and sin, is reason to make The Order take up arms and arrange for an 'accident' if it was ever needed. These 'cullings' are extremely rare, but have happened across human history more than enough to have left behind detailed records that can fill a small library in Heaven.

While not necessarily superior to normal humans thanks to their 'decay' through the ages, Primeval humans do not have the same upper limit as natural ones from Earth. In fact, they can easily 'deactivate' the limiters put on their bodies without the same risk a normal human would suffer; meaning that, for example, lifting a car would, if the Primeval could do it, not hurt them as it would another human, if they have the proper training to tap into their heritage. In broader terms: They generally heal faster and have higher levels of mental prowess, not just physical, though not enough to make them stand out. Most Primevals descendants will NEVER reach anywhere near their peak however, so it is generally seen as a non issue that will never be discovered by the population at large.

The most notorious and powerful Primeval blooded humans do work within The Order, and most of them, even in their late age, are capable of breaking even professional fighters in half if so desired, with their minds quick and their health beyond what an ancient body should have. Only the most discrete and experienced reach this point however, and generally only those that take part in the fight against Hell, making their number hardly reach beyond a dozen or two in most countries except the largest and most populated ones.

*While 'Primeval Humans' aren't truly alive at this point, their genetics are still present and well preserved in specific bloodlines closely monitored by The Order. Their numbers, reproduction and specific genetic traits aren't fully replicated however, as such they are, at best, considered recessive genes and not a full fledged race within the human species.

Note*

It is true that Primeval Human blood may be considered Holy in its elements, however, this effect is largely gone, but not missing, and is powerful enough to cause some ill effects on spells and potions created by Fell powers, if not just dispel said enchantments in a less physical (ie: harmful) way. Proper Angel blood, golden in color in most cases, has true Holy elements. Primeval Humans descendants, when imbued with enough Holy power, or in a state of duress, anger or berserker induced zealotry and rage, may bleed white as their dormant and distant abilities flare up to a level close to what they had once been. This 'white' blood, referred to as Ichor (originally coined by the Greek and later given a different meaning), has a faint glow and the same composition as human blood, all the while having strong magical effects. Though in this state, for as long as it lasts, a member of The Order is unable to generate new blood cells, thus making this 'trance' state a very dangerous one for many Primeval blooded humans are incapable of exiting it willingly. Since this 'trance' starts in battle in many cases, the likely wounds sustained, light or heavy, may make the person bleed to death despite being otherwise survivable.
