Chapter 6
Return To Danville Part 4
After getting captured by the Pistachions, Molly and the others were led to various cages before getting locked in. As the Pistachions led Molly to her cage, she was relieved to find out that Libby was in the cage as well.
"Libby!" Molly rushed over towards Libby before embracing her girlfriend in a tight hug. "I'm so glad that you are okay!"
In response, Libby hugged Molly back, happy that she was safe. "How about you? They didn't hurt you, did they?"
Molly shook her head. "Don't worry, Libby! I'm okay! How about you, Milo? Are you fine too?" Molly asked Milo, who was locked in the cage with them as well.
"Yeah, I've been through worse!" Milo assured before taking notice of a familiar face.
It was at that moment when Derek approached the cage that Molly, Libby, and Milo were in. The Pistachion leader didn't seem to pay any attention to Molly or Libby, but Milo instead. After all the trouble that Milo had caused him, Derek was ready to finally have his revenge.
"Milo Murphy! How wonderful it is to see you again!" Derek retorted.
"Really? Thanks for saying so! I didn't think you would be glad to see me after I helped defeat you! Oh, wait a minute. That was sarcasm, wasn't it?" Milo realized.
"So, you are Derek?" Molly stepped forward. "Do you know how many people you are hurting? Why are you siding with the Heartless?"
"Why am I siding with the Heartless?" Derek repeated. "I think a better question would be why wouldn't I side with them? Now that we have powerful allies like the Heartless, the Pistachions will take over, and I will finally fulfill my father's legacy!"
This time, Libby stepped forward to speak with Derek. "You are not going to get away with this! We are going to stop you!"
"Ooh! I'm so scared! I'm not the one who is locked in a cage!" Derek mocked. "Now pipe now while we get ready to take over Danville!"
With that, Derek left as he and the Pistachions got ready for the invasion. Once they were left alone, Molly and Libby tried to think of a way to break out. They tried striking the cage with their keyblades, but it barely made a dent. They even tried casting fire magic to melt the bars, but it only ended up making the bars feel even hotter.
Exhausted, Molly and Libby sat on the ground as they started to run out of ideas. Just when they were about to think of another idea, they brought their attention to a nearby cage and were both surprised to see a familiar face.
"Xehanort?" Molly and Libby said in unison.
The silver-haired boy soon brought his attention over towards Molly and Libby, surprised that they were here too.
"Molly? Libby? You two are here as well?" Xehanort asked in surprise.
"Yeah. How did you get here?" Molly asked.
"Ever since Brighton got consumed by the darkness, I ended up in this town, where I got captured by these plant entities. What were they called again? Pistachioids?"
"Pistachions." Libby corrected. "If we are all captured by them, things aren't looking so good."
"Well, at least you aren't stuck in here with this guy." Xehanort pointed to Doofenshmirtz, who was locked in the same cage as him.
"Look, all I am saying is that it is a pretty funny coincidence that your name happens to be Xehanort! If I had a nickel for every time I met a Xehanort who has a weird obsession with light and darkness, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it is weird that it happened twice." Doofenshmirtz explained.
At that moment, Xehanort placed a hand over his face in annoyance, already getting sick of listening to Doofenshmirtz. "Ugh! Would you please just shut up already?!"
As Xehanort looked for a way to escape, he took notice of the lock on the door. This gave him an idea as he summoned his keyblade before bringing his attention to Molly and Libby.
"Molly. Libby. Summon your keyblades." Xehanort whispered. "They should be able to unlock the cage."
Once Xehanort unlocked his cage with the keyblade, Molly and Libby did the same with their cage. Now that they were free, Molly and Libby focused on freeing the rest of their friends. One by one, they unlocked the cages without getting the attention of the Pistachions. Before long, everyone was rescued as they started to think of another plan.
"Thanks for saving us!" Zack thanked, happy to be free from the Pistachions.
"Yeah! It's not fun getting captured by those guys." Dakota commented. "So, now what?"
"We might have to think of another way to defeat the Pistachions." Cavendish explained. "With the inators gone, we don't have anymore orange soda to defeat them with."
Once Cavendish said that, Xehanort's eyes widened in surprise when he realized something. "Orange soda? Are you talking about this device?" Xehanort revealed one of Doofenshmirtz's inators in his hands, much to everyone's shock.
"Whoa! How did you get that?" Melissa asked.
"I found it lying on the ground right before I got captured." Xehanort recalled. "If this is the only way for us to defeat those creatures, we need to make sure we don't lose this."
In response, everyone gazed in Doofenshmirtz's direction to make sure that he understood as well.
"Oh sure! I dropped the very devices that's our only hope to defeating the Pistachions this one time, and suddenly I'm the bad guy here!" Doofenshmirtz complained.
"Let's just be careful this time!" Libby suggested. "Molly and I can handle the Heartless while the rest of you defeat the Pistachions."
Everyone nodded in agreement before putting their plan into action. One by one, everyone sneaked up on the Pistachions and began to blast them with the orange soda. As the Pistachions disintegrated, more of them showed up to capture Molly and the others once more. However, Molly and her friends were ready this time as they passed the inator to one another to throw off the Pistachions.
In the midst of the chaos, Derek took notice of what Molly and the others were planning. He let out a gasp when he noticed more and more of his soldiers getting disintegrated.
"What?! They are ruining everything! Heartless, stop them!" Derek ordered the Heartless.
It was at that moment when the Heartless crawled towards the group of friends. They didn't get to far before Molly, Libby, and Xehanort fended them off with their keyblades. When Heartless Pistachions arrived, they swung their root arms, knocking Molly, Libby, and Xehanort to the ground. Thankfully, Perry took hold of the inator before blasting the hybrids, reverting them back to regular Heartless.
With a growl, Derek stepped off the stage to deal with his enemies. "If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself, I suppose!"
Derek soon raised his arms in the air, causing vines to rise from the ground. The vines wrapped around everyone, but Molly and Libby were able to dodge out of the way.
Upon noticing the keyblades in Molly and Libby's hands, Derek knew exactly who he was up against. "So, you must be the two keyblade wielders Maleficent told me about!"
"Yes, and we will use our keyblades to finally stop you, Derek!" Libby declared.
"We won't let you, the Pistachions, or the Heartless take over Danville!" Molly added, raising her keyblade in the air.
"How cute it is that you think you can defeat me!" Derek retorted. "Oh, but how would you defeat me without your little inator?"
Before anyone could react, Derek, used his root arms to grab the inator and toss it in the air. This caused the inator to land on a nearby rollercoaster track, high above anyone's reach.
"Hey, that's not fair!" Molly complained.
"Don't worry, Molly! I'm sure we can defeat Derek without the orange soda!" Libby assured, followed by a long pause. "Somehow."
As the fight began, Molly and Libby charged at Derek with their keyblades, but he was able to block the strikes by creating a shield made of various roots before countering as he used the roots to knock Molly and Libby to the ground. He then summoned sharp thorns from the ground, to which Molly and Libby barely dodged by an inch.
Before the girls could react, Derek grabbed them with the roots before throwing them. Thankfully, Molly and Libby noticed that they were flying straight for a carousel, so they grabbed the bars of the carousel. This spun them both around before they flew straight back at Derek, given them the opportunity to strike him with their keyblades.
Momentarily dazed from the impact, Derek stood back up with a glare. It was at this point when he was done messing around, so he summoned various roots and thorns, ready to kill Molly and Libby. Since they knew that physical attacks were useless at this point, Molly and Libby decided to attack with magic. They both casted their most powerful fire spells, burning away the various roots, to the point where it was able to free Milo. He rushed over to help Molly and Libby, only to trip over a root and accidentally press a button that activated a nearby rollercoaster ride.
Despite Molly and Libby's best efforts to burn away the plants, more roots and thorns kept showing up until Derek was able to knock the two of them down with his roots. All Molly and Libby could do now was look up in terror as Derek aimed countless thorns at them.
"Molly! Libby!" Milo gasped before standing in Derek's way.
"Here to join them, Milo? Perhaps I can save one more thorn for you!" Derek mocked.
Milo ignored Derek as he brought his attention to Molly and Libby. "Are you two okay?"
"We are now!" Molly smiled.
"We're glad that you came to help us, Milo!" Libby said, much to Derek's confusion.
"Wait, I don't understand. Why are you all smiling?" Derek asked, confused.
"Because, Derek! You seem to know Milo so well!" Molly gave a vague response.
"And we are assuming that you are aware of this little thing called, Murphy's Law!" Libby said.
Upon hearing about Murphy's Law, Derek started to realize what was going on. He looked up to see that he was standing right under the inator. It was at that moment when the rollercoaster that Milo accidentally turned on ran into the inator, causing its container to shatter, spilling orange soda all over Derek.
"Aaaaah!" Derek screamed in pain as he slowly started to fade away. Using the last of his strength, Derek glared at Milo and the others one last time. "This isn't over, Milo Murphy! Someday the Pistachions will return and Danville will be ours!"
With his last words, Derek disappeared completely, along with his roots and thorns, freeing the rest of Milo's friends. Now that the Pistachions and Heartless were finally defeated, everyone cheered in victory now that Danville was safe.
"Alright! We won!" Dakota cheered. "I really wasn't worried at all!"
"Sure you weren't." Cavendish rolled his eyes. "I'm so glad that it is all over! If I never see a Pistachion again, it would be too soon!"
Libby giggled. "You know, we probably wouldn't have defeated the Pistachions if Xehanort hadn't found that last inator!"
Molly nodded in agreement. "You're right! I never thought I'd say this, but thanks for saving us, Xeha-"
Molly paused the moment she realized that Xehanort was nowhere to be found. After the way he helped them, Molly and Libby were kind of disappointed that they never got the chance to thank him.
"Looks like your friend had to leave." Milo noticed. "Don't worry! I'm sure you would see him again soon!"
"Yes, I'm sure we will!" Libby agreed. "Unfortunately, I think it is time for Molly and I to leave as well."
"You're leaving already? That's too bad. We were all really starting to have a fun time with you two." Zack replied.
"Feel free to visit Danville again whenever you have the time!" Melissa waved goodbye.
"We will! Hopefully, this would be the last time you guys see the Heartless and Pistachions." Molly hoped.
"Well, if they do come back, I'm sure I can just build another inator, and yes, Perry the Platypus, that inator will have a self destruct button as well." Doofenshmirtz told Perry, much to the platypus's annoyance.
After saying goodbye to everyone, Molly and Libby started to leave as they returned to Mollibby. Right when Molly and Libby were about to board their gummi ship, Chirithy showed up to speak with their friends.
"Congratulations, you two! Looks like you saved Danville once again!" Chirithy congratulated their friends.
"Thanks, Chirithy!" Molly smiled. "I'm happy that our friends don't have to worry about the Heartless or Pistachions anymore!"
"And to think that we wouldn't have stopped them if Xehanort hadn't found that last inator." Libby realized. "Maybe there is a chance for us to be friends with him, after all!"
Chirithy took a moment to ponder what Libby said before they replied. "I'm still not too certain. I know that Mickey said their is a possibility that you two can be friends with him, but I personally still don't trust Xehanort. Even if he did help us out, there is no guarantee that he doesn't have any sinister plans."
As much as Molly hated to admit it, she knew that Chirithy was right. Technically, she still didn't know much about Xehanort to begin with. Even so, Molly knew that she should at least give this a chance. Molly never gave up when it came to trying to befriend someone, and she was not going to start now!
"Let's just cross that bridge when we get there. For now, what do you say we move on to the next world?" Molly suggested.
Libby nodded in agreement. "Good idea, Molly! Looks like the next world awaits us!"
At that moment, Molly, Libby, and Chirithy entered the gummi ship before taking off. The ship flew higher and higher in the sky until Danville could no longer be seen. As Danville was safe once again, Molly and Libby knew that they shouldn't get too comfortable because their adventure was only beginning!
AN: Well, that is the end of the first part of the story. While Molly and Libby have already visited Danville in the previous story, I can promise that the next world they would visit would be a world they have never visited before!
