2005 December 17

Harry stormed out of the hospital. Kennedy was going to be found and he was going to regret hurting Harry's lover. He paused once he got to his truck. He gripped the wheel and felt his magic pulsing. Taking a few deep breaths, he calmed himself and his magic. He needed to be focused and couldn't afford to make mistakes.

From what he remembered, from Severus telling him a little about the other ranch hands, Kennedy was a halfblood who had been homeschooled as many out in the more remote regions of the county were. Severus had also mentioned where he lived, in a bunkhouse outside town with a few other wizards who worked on the ranch. That worked out well, that way Harry was much less likely to get pulled into the Western DMLE office for Statute violations.

He felt as calm as an ice storm as he drove, sharp as a knife and colder than hell. He wasn't exactly sure how he was going to deal with Kennedy and anyone else who may have been involved but something had to give.

Harry saw three trucks and an SUV in the driveway to the bunkhouse. He parked a ways away and got out, wand sliding into his palm like an old friend.

"Jordan Kennedy! I'm here to have a chat! Come on out!" He yelled, standing a good ten feet in front of the door. He tapped his wand against his leg.

The door creaked open and a pale hand appeared around the frame held up in supplication. A head appeared but Harry didn't think that this man was Kennedy. The man was shaking and stumbled his way out.

"I didn't wanna hurt Prince at all! That was Kennedy and Blake's idea. I don't care if he's a fag or whatever. He does his job same as me." The man rambled, trying to prove innocence.

Finally Harry recognized the man. It was Fitzpatrick who worked in the stables.

"Go on and get out of here Fitzpatrick. I'm after Kennedy."

The skinny man stumbled and got in his truck, almost spinning out in his rush to be anywhere but there. Harry waited a minute and called out to Kennedy again.

He stood, fingering the hilt of his wand, wondering how this would go, when the door opened and an angry red headed man with a beer belly came out hollering.

"You angry 'cause I got your butt buddy? Well I'll do it again! Prince is filth and so are you. I seen you with that boy in town. Is he even yours or did you steal him from his real parents? –" Harry cut off his rambling by drawing his wand and casting a stinging hex at his feet. He jumped and realized he might just need his own wand for this. He pulled it out and cast the most dangerous curse he might have known, a blood boiling curse.

Harry deflected it and cast a tarantallegra jinx making the man flop side to side as his legs moved uncontrollably. He thought about ways to hurt this man who had hurt Severus. He knew the spells. He could torture him, maybe even kill him. But he couldn't go that far. He needed to be there for Teddy, and for Severus when the hospital released him.

He ended the dancing spell and before Kennedy could react, Harry was in front of him throwing a punch. Harry pushed him back against the rough wall of the bunkhouse and punched him again before whispering in his ear, "Get out of town. I'll know if you come back. And if you come back…this brown fag is going to kill you, damned what the DMLE of America thinks."

He flicked his wand and left a burn on the man's collarbone.

"Something to aid your memory. Now get out." He growled, shoving the man to the gravel driveway. Kennedy scrabbled up from the gravel and looked back in the doorway of the bunkhouse, looking for backup Blake and another man who Harry assumed worked on the ranch just held their hands up.

With a scowl thrown over his shoulder, the redhead hopped in his truck and took off. Hopefully to somewhere far away from Harry Potter.

Harry looked at the men in the door. "Blake, you got something to say?"

The black man bowed his head and shook it. "I'm sorry about what I said on Prince. He's a tough fella and I just got scared. I didn't mean we should hurt him though!"

Harry frowned. Having opinions and talking about it wasn't much of a crime.

"Alright, but if Severus comes back,I don't wanna hear that anybody is treating him differently. I'm going to look at you first if I hear otherwise."

Blake nodded rapidly.

"Alright." Then Harry turned and got back in his truck as if nothing had happened. He needed to get back to the hospital anyways.
