Still letting out a couple of tears from his eyes, Cody was starting to feel a little better after watching Mufasa's death. Everyone took their turns trying to console him and make him feel better. "Why is life so unfair?" Cody finally said.
Everyone was silent after that response. "That's what i thought to myself most nights when i was being raised by my evil dad." Moxxie replied.
"We know life isn't fair. Hell, it's a bitch at times." Loona nodded her head sideways. "Take a look at me. I used yo live in the worst kind of place a Hellhound can ever live in. The roof over my head didn't mean shit, Cody. The pound was awful."
Looking silent, Cody looked at the window before asking: "why did the TV have to show me Mufasa dying? Was it trying to tell me something? Did it show me that i am a loser?" He let a few more tears escape his eyes.
"Don't ever say that." Said Millie. "You are no loser."
"But why did the TV just show me the scene?"
"we don't know." Blitzo admitted. "It probably was meant to remind you to miss your parents."
"I always my parents, Blitzo."
"Or maybe God played a cruel joke on you." The lizard-like imp
"Preposterous." said a calm and masculine voice. A blinding light appeared in front of the group. As soon as the flashing stopped, there was Jesus and Cody's parents next to him. A big smile came on the boys' face as he hugged his angelic deceased parents. "My father would never play a cruel joke on anyone."
"Are you ok, Cody?" asked Daniel
"I'm fine, dad." The boy replied. "Can't believe i watched that sad part again."
"don't beat yourself up, sweetie." Said Stephanie. "It wasn't anything you can control."
"It almost felt like life was playing a mean joke on me." he then turned his head away in shame. "I wish i can just go back in time and forget about that moment."
"But it was as good memory because I was with you to make you feel better." Daniel said. "It's nothing to be ashamed of."
Cody was silent again before saying: "I'm trying my best to be happy and move on after everything that happened to me, but it just came back to me like... like..."
"A bullet to your heart?" said Blitzo naively
"Blitzo!" his demon cohorts scolded him heavily.
"No, it's ok, guys." Cody assured them. "Yeah, it's exactly like that." he looked at his angel parents again. "I am doing my best to move on and be happy again, but... how can i be perfectly happy?"
Everyone looked at one another with uncertainty, and the female hellhound finally said: "Well, Cody, there is no right or wrong answer to this kind of thing. I'm sorry if you still have some sadness in you." she knelt down on her two knees to have better eye contact with him. "I wish i can tell you a good answer, but there isn't any right or wrong answer for this kind of thing."
"She is right, child." Jesus walked up to him. "It is perfectly alright to be happy when you are happy, and to be sad when you are sad. There most certainly is no right or wrong answer for this situation. You are in control of your own life."
"Well... maybe i should talk to a therapist or a psychiatrist about this." Cody pointed. "They're supposed to help people with mental problems, and i doubt there is one down here in Hell."
"What makes you say that?" said Moxxie
"Blitzo told me that there is no health insurance in Hell."
"It doesn't mean there is no therapy or psychiatry down here." Loona pointed. "And... some therapists or psychiatrists are not very reliable down here in Hell. Many would just want a quick buck from you and that's all."
"A very good point." said Daniel. "Just go to Earth for one of those."
"But i can't just tell him or her about Hell or what happened with Mr. Belmont. Lucifer might have wiped out their memories about it, and Hell is supposed to be kept a secret."
"It's still the worst kept secret." said Millie
"Look, maybe you can just tell them about... the event before Belmont, if you know what I mean." Vortex suggested. "And besides, your big bro and his girlfriend are getting married. You should be happy about that, Cody." everyone else around him agreed, and Cody was definitely excited for the wedding between Tommy and Celeste. This was a big event for him and his own friends indeed, and there were som planning and preparations to make for the upcoming event.
"I would listen to Tex, sweetie." said Stephanie. "You should be happy."
"And remember what me and your mother mentioned before, kiddo." said Daniel "No matter what happens, and wherever you go, me and your mother will always be with you, even if you do not know it." Cody smiled and hugged his parents.
"Thanks mom, dad. I'm glad to have parents like you." Loona felt like crying, but, being a "tough-as-nails bitch", she kept it to herself and took a small breath. If Loona wanted to cry, then she didn't want to show it in front of Blitzo, or anyone else.
"And, i will be there for you too, Cody." Jesus smiled warmly. "Just call upon me, or your parents to guide you for anything."
"OK." Cody let go of his angelic parents.
"We have to go now, see you soon Cody. Stay out of trouble." said Daniel
"And we love you with all our hearts." then his parents slowly vanished as they waved at their second-born son.
"Now, perhaps therapy or psychiatry can be a good idea, but it can be rather... pricey these days."
"Good point." said Blitzo.
"Well I still have some money saved from Cody from that pig race all those months ago." said Loona. "So it shouldn't be a problem. The problem would be finding a good one of those. The better those people are, the more they cost."
"Or you can try using a hot tub said Vortex. "Verosika has some of the best hot tubs in all of Hell. Nothing soothes the mind like a nice, relaxing jacuzzi."
"Right, like the spa Apple and Coco work at. I can try there again."
"Good idea." said Moxxie.
"Being a Lamb of God, i cannot, of course, force you to make your own decisions, but i can help give you advice on what you should do in your life. You are in control of your own life, Cody." said Jesus. "Like your parents, I am always there fro you if you ever need my help." he placed his hand on his chest. "Never be afraid to talk to me when you want to talk to me. The Lion of Judah slowly began vanishing into nothingness before saying: "farewell, my friends." then he was gone.
"Wanna get a drink from the convenience store down the street?"
"Sure." Cody smiled
Walking down a street with Loona to get something from the nearby convenience store, Crystal, Serena, and Johnny were with them too. "So Loona told us what happened, Cody." said Johnny. "Are you doing ok?"
"I'm doing better. I'm doing the best I can to move on." he looked at the streets as he was thinking. "Some way to just move forward and be happy."
"You'll be fine, sweetie." said Crystal. "You'll be better. We know it."
"yeah, just give it some time." said Serena
"You've been to the sauna before, you can always go there again." the green-haired hellhound reminded him. Suddenly, Cody was greeted by someone.
"Hey there." Said a sultry and seductive voice. Cody and the others looked to see a very beautiful succubus lady with long black hair, and horns shaped like a ram would have, similar to Barbie Wire's horns, and she wore nothing but a cheetah-print unitard that was sleeveless in the arms and even a tail sleeve that made it look like she had a leopard or cheetah tail instead of a usual heart-shaped tip that succubi and incubi would have at the end of their tails.
"You're Cody, right?" Said the succubus.
"Yes." Said the boy.
"oh my Satan!" Loona and her friends recognized. "Katie Mayday!"
"Who?"
"One of the fucking greatest heavy metal singers in all of Hell!" said Crystal
"She sings like an angel."
"it's... it's quite an honor." Loona tried shaking her hand. "I'm a big fan of your music."
"We all are." Johnny remarked
"Thank you, thank you so much." said Katie. "Always happy to see my fans." She even gave a kiss to Loona on the cheek to show her friendliness. Looking back at Cody. "I've heard so much about you, sweetie." She squated down to have better eye contact with the kid. "As your friends said, i'm Katie Mayday."
"I was going to ask how you know about me, but i keep forgetting that i'm famous down here." Cody pointed.
Letting out a cute and sexy laugh, Katie said: "yes, that and my sister told me about you. You know, Verosika?"
Cody's eyes widened with surprise. "She never told me she had a sister."
Katie frowned before saying: "me and her don't see eye-to-eye. She is a pop singer while i am a heavy metal singer. Two different genres that can never mix. But she told me more about you, and saw the TV broadcasts of you at the party at Lord Lucifer's place and others. And... i'm sorry about your parents, Cody. Really." she gently grasped his cheeks and kissed him on the forehead tenderly, leaving black lipstick on it, making him blush.
"OK, OK, back up, people." a large, scary Hellhound with a Greek accent and a black blazer approached the group. He had a goetee and long black hair on his head, and he looked somewhat like a Great Pyrenees kind of hellhound, wearing sunglasses and having a stern look with his arms crossed
"It's perfectly alright, Apollo. They are new friends i have made."
"Oh, sorry.
"And they know Tex." Katie smirked
The pyrenees hellhound looked embarrassed and guilty. "I am very sorry. I didn't know." he turned to his boss. "I wish you would just tell me those things right away."
"You were in the bathroom, Apollo. You said you really had to-"
"Don't describe it!" said the white hellhound bodyguard
"Guys, meet Apollo, a friend of mine, and a good source of protection." Katie introduced
"Hello." said Apollo, "Wait, you're the human boy i've heard about." he also recognized Cody. "I've always wanted to meet you." he gave him a gentle pat on the back.
"Unlike how my sister does with Vortex, i give Apollo a proper amount of money, a fair share."
"Didn't you hear?" said Serena. "Tex doesn't work for Verosika anymore. Not since she kidnapped Cody before."
"What?' Katie looked surprised. "She didn't tell me that."
"Yeah, that bitch kidnapped Cody before for her own selfish purposes." Crystal crossed her arms
"She's a pedophile!?" Katie sounded angry now
"No, no, not like that. Something like a stuffed animal or a pet... not the sexual kind of pet." said Loona. "Well there's not much hatred between us anymore, and she did help us against Mr. Belmont."
Katie looked confused. "I know she was the spoiled one of the family, but she wouldn't do anything like that." she finally pointed. "She usually cares about others well-beings and hosts parties to attack her ex-boyfriend and help those who were screwed over by... Buckzo?"
"Blitzo." said Loona. "The O is silent."
"We're not close friends, but we know each other." Cody pointed.
"I know me and my sister do not always get along, but she's not an evil person."
