Dogday's POV

"I'm gonna look for something else to do." I said, got up, and searched my house for something new.

When I searched the attic, I found something. It was a lot of old VHS tapes in a cardboard box, and an old TV with a VCR. The tapes had labels on them, like 'Hide & Seek', 'Treasure Hunt', and 'Birthday' to name a few.

I carried the TV down, went back, got the tapes and the VCR down afterwards.

"Hey Dogday. Did you find anything?" Kicken said, and finished his turn of Monopoly.

"Yeah, I did find something. I don't know what it is though." I replied, and set up everything.

I put a tape in, and it started.

The tape played, and started with an apple on the screen, and words appearing on it:

Amanda the Adventurer

and two characters appeared on the screen, one a dog, and the other a sheep.

"This episode is called… uh… Hide and Seek!" the dog said. The screen shifted down into a forest, and the dog was creeping through it.

"Hi." she whispered. "I'm Amanda! You wanna know why I'm whispering?" she asked. I nodded.

"I'm playing hide and seek with Wooly. Do you know how to play?".

"Yes." I replied.

"Can you tell me where Wooly is?" she asked. I saw the sheep poking out of the bush. I pointed, and Amanda looked.

"He's not here. Where is he now?". The box shuffled. I pointed, and Amanda looked.

"He's not here either, though that is a good hiding spot.". The sheep was now in the tree. I pointed, and the sheep fell.

"He he, you found me. I guess it's my turn now, huh?" he said.

"Can you help Wooly count to ten? Great!" Amanda said, and left.

"Uh, oh… um, one, uh, what comes after one?" Wooly asked.

"Two.".

"Oh, thanks. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten! Uh oh. Did I wander too far?" he asked, and the forest looked darker. "Can you help me find Amanda?".

I saw her head, and I pointed. Wooly looked, and found nothing. Laughing followed from somewhere. Wooly looked creeped out. I saw Amanda in the tree. I pointed and Wooly looked there.

"She's not here, though that is a good hiding place.". The box shuffled, and Wooly lifted it up, but it was a cat.

"Boo!" Amanda shouted, and Wooly jumped. "I was hiding in the other bush."

There was only one bush to select.

A bell rang. "That must be Grandma ringing for dinner. It's pie!". Amanda said.

"I hope it's peach." Wooly said.

"What was your favorite hiding spot?" Amanda asked.

"The box.".

"That was my favorite hiding spot too." Wooly said.

"Wait… hold on…"

"Amanda?"

"It is… It's you…".

What the? Hang on, I recognize that voice now. Sis?

The screen suddenly went staticy, flashing, and other things. Then the VHS ejected.

"What was that?" Bobby asked.

"I don't know. Maybe we should all watch together." I said.

"Sure." CatNap said. All of them gathered around.

I put the next tape in, and it started.

Amanda the Adventurer

Amanda and Wooly appeared.

"This episode is called Treasure Hunt!" Amanda said.

The screen went to Amanda and Wooly holding a map.

"Hi there! I'm Amanda!".

"And I'm Wooly!".

"We're hunting for treasure! Wanna help us?".

"Sure." I replied.

"Great! We" static "to get to the X. Can you " static "find" static "X?".

I pointed to the X.

"Great! Let's go!" Amanda said.

SThATelICp

What?

"What can we use to dig up the treasure? The crowbar? The rope? Or the shovel?".

"Hey, I'm gonna choose the wrong one." Kicken said, then said "Crowbar.". "It's gonna do the shovel anyway.".

"That's not what we need. Try again.".

"Weird… Uh… Rope.".

"That's not what we need. Try again.".

"Crowbar." Kicken said, trying to have the show move on to prove his point.

"Try. Again." Amanda said, clearly getting annoyed.

"Shov… Shov…" Kicken said. "Someone else try.".

"Cro… Shov… Shov…" Crafty said.

"Crowbar!" Hoppy shouted quickly.

"Do I have to do everything myself?" Amanda asked, angry at us. "We need the…". Wooly was shaking his head, as if to tell us to not do it.

"Rope!" Hoppy shouted, like with the crowbar answer.

"We need the shovel! Why can't " STATIC "you " STATIC "co-operate!" Amanda shouted, angry, frustrated, and annoyed at us.

"That's it!" Wooly said, walked over to the screen, picked it up, and looked at us.

"Listen, take the tape out. Don't watch the other tapes. Destroy them, burn them, smash them, just don't " STATIC "watch " STATIC "oh no…" Amanda was changing, looking monster-like.

STATIC

The tape ejected, and fell to the floor. Something banged on the window. It was still raining, but I could've swore that I saw a weird gray… hand? And a monster face that looked a little like… Amanda? But I blinked, and there was nothing outside.

I stood up, lifted my foot, and… I tried to stomp on the tape, but… Something stopped me. I went to the basement, and saw the face again, and it stared at me. I grabbed the sledgehammer, went to the VCR. I swung and I smashed it. I did the same to the TV. I looked and the face was in the doorway to the basement.

I smashed both of the devices to smithereens. The monster screamed, and I stomped the tape. The screaming grew louder. I dumped all the tapes, and stomped on all of them, pulled out the insides. The screaming grew with each tape destroyed. It ran at me, and I saw the full body. It was slender arms, and it was Amanda.

I smashed the final tape, and Amanda grew silent. I finally noticed that everyone was scared stiff.

Amanda walked backwards, climbed into the attic, and I saw her outside, then she was gone.

"What… was… that!?" Kicken said, clearly confused and worried. All the others were just as confused as me.

"Maybe we should forget this ever happened. Alright?" I replied.

"Yeah." They all said.

It took a moment for us to fall asleep, but we managed to.
