"He'll be fine," Sojiro folded his arms. His hair was a fair deal more gray than last Ren had visited. "He's young."
"It was a bad enough idea as a teen," Takemi took a sip of her coffee. "Which he isn't anymore. Get over your empty nest grief and move your daughter's mattress over here."
It sounded like they recognized he was an adult now, but they were still talking in front of him like he was a child.
"It's fine. It's only until I find my own place." Ren stood at the end of the counter, not sure whether he should be sitting by Takemi or grabbing an apron.
"Couldn't you just stay with your rich friend or something?" Takemi tossed her now purple and red locks as she turned to him.
Ren didn't want to be one of those people, taking advantage of a friend for their wealth, especially given he and Haru hadn't really chatted in years. He wasn't sure if she was even in town.
