Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto or Harry Potter.
Naruto yawned as he peeked outside his room door uneasily to make sure the wizard version of police weren't there to try to take him to jail.
He would admit, he hadn't planned out that second encounter at all but it wasn't like he could have ever predicted the angry girl who seemed to have it out for him was some super secret mastermind.
That would be just strange.
And unlike him he didn't even go out to train like he always did early in the morning. He had simply sat in his bed surrounded by his troops as the time passed by. They had nothing to do as he had ordered them to wait so he could see if Lockhart had changed.
He had been able to go to sleep but the Uzumaki had been jittery the entire time.
'Bah! What am I doing?! Let's just go and see.' Tired of being hesitant, Naruto smoothed down his hair and his rumpled robes before stepping out of his dorm room.
The first thing he spotted was the dude he stole those glasses from and the timid looking kid that looked like even his own shadow scared him.
'Oh yeah!' Naruto turned around and ducked back into his room, shooed away the pixies crowding on his bed before he picked up the worn glasses.
Zooming back outside he saw they hadn't moved so he walked over to them all casual and stuff trying his best to look normal.
"Hey, isn't class about to start? Why aren't you two in your robes?" Naruto said, standing in front of Harry Potter, a smirk nearly forming as he noticed the chubby boy squeak. It felt good to be feared.
Harry shuddered, clearly recalling their last encounter. He opened his mouth to respond, but Naruto suddenly shoved a pair of glasses into his chest.
"Here! I found these yesterday but couldn't find you. Hope you weren't too blind without them."
Astonished, Harry hesitated before taking them, muttering a quiet "Thank you" as he pushed them onto his face.
"Well, if you had to know, the professor came by and said classes were dismissed today." Naruto expertly kept down his panic as the green-eyed kid spoke, swinging his hands a bit.
"Really? Did she say why? I don't think there's any holidays right now." He prodded needing to know a bit more.
"No but she did take Ron about an hour ago…family reasons she said…" He trailed off looking behind him, towards the shared dorm room with a frown.
'Ron? Isn't that her brother?! So he definitely found her…I bet he called her family in to give her a therapy session. All that anger isn't good.' Naruto thought to himself, attributing her murder rampage to her anger.
"Oh, well I hope everything's okay…I'll see you guys later." Feeling like he just got a wealth of information and relief, Naruto began walking towards the spiral staircases hoping to observe a bit more before he looked back when he was called out to.
"Hey! I wanted to ask how you got a private room? I've never heard of it before. Everyone's been wondering too." The owner of the voice was hesitant but clearly still unable to control his curiosity.
Naruto paused.
"You want to know how to get a room? That's simple, are you sure you're up for it?"
He could feel the boy nodding quickly and as he glanced back he saw Neville's wide eyes looking at him too.
Naruto smirked.
"I'll tell you if you can last say… 10 more of my lessons? What do you say?"
They both froze, backing away slowly.
"U-uh no I'm good!"
"M-me too!"
Seeing them back into the room, slamming the door shut, locking every single lock, Naruto chuckled, shaking his head as he left to take off his robes.
Too easy.
Naruto had bumped into a certain tiny girl on his way out, one that he would admit with some shame that he had neglected a bit. It was hard to keep in touch with everyone considering their schedules and though he tried his best.
He didn't mind when she waved at him shyly when he called out to her. In fact it made him happy as he hardly got anything close to it back home.
"Hey Astoria! How are you doing? I haven't seen you in a while!" Naruto said genuinely as he stopped in the corridor. He hadn't spotted Luna in the common room so he decided to drop down for some breakfast. Worrying did get him pretty hungry.
"Hello Naruto! I'm fine…how were you?" The brown haired girl began leaning back but stopped herself as Naruto nodded, placing a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm fine shortie. Thanks for asking, what are you doing here alone though? Don't ya have friends?" Naruto casually stepped on a landmine with all the finesse of a nuclear warhead.
The girl deflated.
"I'm not short and I well its-" Naruto blinked when she muttered looking down despondently.
'Hmmm crap.' Naruto coughed internally only realizing after he already said it. Damn he was bad at thinking before talking!
"Well that doesn't matter. You're my friend so you're coming with me okay? Let's go get some meat on those bones." Naruto didn't take no for an answer as he grabbed her hand and began dragging her behind him.
"Ah?!" She gasped in surprise and barely kept up but Naruto keenly noticed the lack of struggle from her.
He didn't know what to make of it. It wasn't like he didn't know about having no friends and stuff but he never really had to talk about it.
So he simply did what he had wished someone did for him. It was easier when he knew she liked him already.
"Don't worry shortie, I'll introduce you to Luna cause you're clearly too shy!" He pulled her into a lazy one armed grip as she clenched his arm.
"I'm not shy! And I have friends! It's just hard to talk at times and I don't want to disturb anyone!" She tried defending but Naruto watched as she looked away as if ashamed.
She was a bad liar.
"...so you're shy?" Naruto repeated himself again because that was all he heard. He was sure that was the definition of it or something.
"...no."
"Right~ well let's go then." Smiling not believing her one bit, Naruto began carrying them over to the great hall releasing her from the loose hug not seeing her face fall.
"I don't know why you would want to hang out with me though…"
"What do you mean?" Naruto raised an eyebrow at the statement. Did she think she was a bad friend or something?
She didn't say anything for a minute as they passed by some idling students and Naruto thought that would be the end of it but she finally raised her head though she didn't look him in the eyes.
"Ah I mean I'm just a first year right? It wouldn't look good on you if you're hanging out with me…" She trailed off and Naruto placed a hand on her shoulder again stopping her.
"Shortie."
"Y-yes?"
He bent down a bit to look her in the eyes and she pouted seeing him still making fun of her. She wasn't that short.
"That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard! Who cares if I'm hanging out with you? I like you and if anyone has a problem with it, they can talk to Uzumaki Naruto!" He thumped his chest confidently as the girl stared at him, clearly taken aback by his declaration.
"That was really touching!" Naruto froze at the fake sniffle and quickly snapped his head back feeling his cheeks reddening slightly.
"Katie!"
"Hello blondie. It seems you're having fun. I didn't believe Angelina when she said you looked like one of those playboys but I was wrong!"
"Hah!? Do I look like that bastar- gugkh!"
Katie, who was holding the boy in a headlock, looked at the girl who he was talking to prior.
"Astoria, right? The name is Katie. Don't worry, I won't let this blonde corrupt you!" She said playfully.
Astoria, who had been looking more and more disappointed at the turn of events, took her lingering eyes off the choking, gasping blonde and looked at the Gryffindor chaser.
She smiled though it came out strained.
"Thank you…"
"I'm not some playboy, am I Luna?!" Naruto grumbled rubbing his neck as he periodically glanced at the head table in anxiety seeing a lack of the headmaster and deputy headmistress.
"I don't think you are Naruto but I also don't really know what that means. Do you think you are?" His friend said as she spreaded jam over a slice of toast for the 4th time.
"I'm not!"
"Hmm~ What about you Astoria?" Luna questioned as the girl looked confused for a second but shook her head still able to tell it was a bad thing.
"No, he's just a really nice person!"
"Oh~ I agree. He tries to act tough but-"
Naruto blocked out the conversation as he glanced around quickly. He could see Percy was gone along with those twin redheads and he knew his theory was correct.
Rubbing his leg feeling anxious Naruto glanced over to the Hufflepuff table for Susan and Hannah but he couldn't find them either.
'Damn, I was really hoping we could all go together! Luckily, I have a plan for this, I hope they accept.' Naruto thought. He had been trying to find a way to get all his friends in one place, but it had proven more difficult than he expected.
After some critical thinking, he finally found the answers he needed. It should have been obvious in hindsight, but he refused to let the late hour deter him.
"Hey Luna, do you want to come with me? I'm going to go see Professor Lockhart." Naruto let the smile stretch across his face as they both stopped their conversation and Luna looked at him in curiosity, placing down her toast.
"Whatever for Naruto? I don't think we need to go to the professor to find out what a playboy is. That's silly!"
Naruto blanked out for a second realizing he had missed most of the conversation.
"Uhh- no I want to go and talk to him for a second. It has to do with the super secret project." He whispered, looking around swiftly.
"Professor Lockhart is going to help me find a Crumple-Horned Snorkack?" The girl claimed excitedly as Naruto sweat dropped.
"First of all, if I said it was a secret why are you talking so loudly?! And no, I'm talking about our adventures!" He told her not realizing he too was talking way too loud.
"Oh why didn't you just say so? I don't mind coming with you."
Feeling his eye twitch at her antics Naruto leaned over to the side looking at the other girl who was playing with her food, pretending like she couldn't hear the conversation.
How polite.
"Do you wanna come too Astoria?" Her head shot up as if she had been waiting for him to ask and the beaming curve of her lips sent his way answered his question easily enough.
The professor was conspicuously absent from the head table, so the trio of two blondes and one brown-haired girl made their way to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom.
It should have been a straightforward journey, with Naruto grabbing what he needed and leaving without a hitch. But that was quickly becoming a distant dream.
Clink clink clink
Naruto's paranoid eyes darted to the stout man's long wooden cane as he slowly made his way in front of them. He had caught a look of the man's mangled face and he immediately knew this guy was definitely the real deal!
He was the magic police!
"Are you alright Naruto? You look like you came down with something. I hope it isn't gloomspore, daddy caught it once when I was younger, he was never the same after…" Luna trailed off as she whispered quietly.
Feeling like he had a lifeline from his paranoia, Naruto glanced at Luna intrigued.
"Gloomspore? Is that some magical disease? Do you know about it too Astoria?"
"No…I've never heard mom or dad mention it before and they talk about things like that a lot…" The girl trailed off looking at Luna as well.
"Well it's granted none of you have ever heard of it. I gave it a name myself after all."
"Ah." Astoria made a sound of disbelief but Naruto, who knew his friend didn't speak straightforwardly, asked again.
"Your dad caught it before Luna? How was he?"
"Oh it was just terrible Naruto. Daddy, he didn't laugh like he used to, and his magic stopped working for him, like he couldn't control it. Sometimes he got really angry too and sometimes he cried a lot. Most times he just stopped doing anything." The girl listed the things off clinically as she counted on her fingers and Naruto smacked his lips.
He didn't need to be a genius to get an idea of what she was saying.
"I see…did you catch…gloomspore too Luna?" He glanced at her as she hummed in contemplation.
"I don't think so but maybe I caught something similar? I was only really sad before. I think I'm feeling better now!" She smiled at him and Naruto looked at her seriously.
"I'm glad. I hope your dad is doing well. If you ever need a cure for your errr…whisperwisp you can come find me okay? I don't mind cheering your sad mug up." He held out his hand for a fist bump watching as she looked down at it with blank eyes.
"Whisperwisp…we need to work on how you name things Naruto…." She didn't say anything else but she opened her hand and held his fist bump conveying her acceptance.
"Couldn't ya just have did it normally?!" Naruto grumbled but it came out in good humor as he smirked.
"Normal is good but I like my way better!" She stuck out her tongue, moving her hand and placing it behind her back.
About to tell her that he agreed with her, Naruto was stopped by a rough voice speaking, nearly causing him to flinch.
Nearly.
"All right you lot. You were about to miss your destination, don't you know?" The man in front rumbled as he continued his walk, getting them to look to their left to see he was correct.
They nearly passed the room!
Naruto turned to thank the man but he had long passed them, his cane smacking the ground barely audible now.
"But how did he know we were coming here? We weren't that loud were we?" Astoria's soft voice came and Naruto agreed with her.
Creepy.
"Ah well it doesn't matter, he helped us out so he's okay in my book!" Naruto touched the door about to open it before he froze remembering last night.
"What's wrong? Weren't you supposed to-"
"A-actually I think you guys should stay here for a bit. Wouldn't want him to think we're ambushing him!" Naruto interrupted Astoria, not even looking at Luna who gave him a suspicious look.
"Are you sure?"
"...yeah. I'm sure. Trust me I'll be in and out before you could Lumos!" Naruto give the girl an encouraging smile that got her to relax and nod as he began slipping into the room.
Still ignoring the other blonde's look.

Naruto locked the door with a sigh of relief. He hated telling the white lie but that was better than having them here before he confirmed Lockhart was safe.
Naruto turned around to speak to the man before he paused in deep and utter shock.
"What the fu-" Naruto gaped at the massive banner of a certain headmaster's face hanging at the back of the classroom. Disoriented, he glanced at the windows, noticing similar blue and white banners emblazoned with the name "Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore."
"Oh, Naluto my boy! I didn't think anyone would visit so soon!" Lockhart exclaimed, approaching him in a pink apron that read "Dumbledore's Number One Fan," causing disgust to churn in Naruto's stomach.
As the man drew nearer, Naruto felt his wand almost leap into his hand..
(Break)
"Do you think he will be okay? I'm not sure but I feel he was nervous." Luna looked up from the ants she was observing, peering at Astoria strangely.
"Oh didn't you know? Naruto's a ninja so of course-
"STAY BACK, BACK I SAY!"
"-he will be okay." Luna didn't miss a beat finishing her sentence as Astoria looked at the door terrified.
"Didn't you hear-?!"
"He'll be fine. Trust me." Astoria looked at her baffled but Luna didn't mind. She was used to those looks.
What she wasn't used to though was breaking her friend's trust. She wouldn't allow his secrets to get out like that. Not until he came and told her anyway.
But she wouldn't deny she was veeery curious about what she was hearing.
Naruto waved his wand menacingly but the man still walked forward with his smile in place.
"I know this may be strange but have you ever heard of the tale of the great wizard Albus Dumbledore?" Naruto looked at the hand that touched his shoulder like it was the Kyuubi itself.
"Huh?" Naruto was dragged forward, paling as he endured a rundown of the aged wizard's life, from his birth to his siblings, favorite socks, candies, and a ton of other things he couldn't care less about. It felt like the man couldn't stop talking, and Naruto realized it was all his fault!
Was he so terrifying that this guy based his entire life around that old man?!
"Enough!" Naruto pushed the man away, stopping him in his tracks. Lockhart stumbled forward into his desk, as Naruto glared at him.
"Naruto?! I haven't even gotten to the pamphlets yet-!" Lockhart gasped, covered in papers. Before he could get up, Naruto yanked him by his shirt, lifting him off the ground with his legs dangling, before dropping him back down.
"Y-you're a strong one aren't you?!" Naruto glared into the man's eyes wondering if it would be easier to just chuck him out of a window before he sighed.
He shoved a paper inside the man's face, tired of his antics. He just needed to get his permission and be out quickly.
"Sign it."
"But what is it?" The man who came out of his Dumbledore craze for a second took the paper reading over it quickly.
"A club…?" The man read over it quickly, his face changing many times as if remembering something important.
He paled not 2 seconds after.
"Yeah, I want to make one but don't know how it works. Can you sign it for me?"
The man was quiet for a moment before his head jerked up and down.
"O-of course! Let me just find my quill-"
Both Astoria and Luna watched as Naruto emerged from the room, a broad grin plastered across his face as he held up a piece of paper triumphantly.
"So, you did it, Naruto? Can you explain why we had to come here right now?" Luna asked, her excitement palpable. She skipped forward, her eyes sparkling with curiosity as she leaned closer to examine the paper he was eagerly pushing toward her.
As she read the words, her eyes widened in disbelief. "Oh my-"
"Say hello to the Hogwarts' newest club president, Uzumaki Naruto and his new vice deputy!" he declared proudly, his enthusiasm infectious.
"Woooooooow!" Luna exclaimed, staring at the paper in delight.
"Heh, amazing, right?" Naruto replied, his smile growing even wider as he basked in their excitement.
"A-a new club?! You're really bold Naruto! How did you convince him?" Even the shy Astoria showed excitement as Naruto folded the paper.
"I have my ways. Just showed him a couple of tricks back from my village and he was putty in my hands!"
"So what's the name?" Luna asked, still amazed as Astoria wondered what those tricks were.
Naruto paused.
"Name?"
"Well a club has to have a name right?" Astoria offered.
"..."
Naruto did not in fact have a name.
