Hello Everyone. Here is chapter 2. I hope that you will enjoy it. :)
While all of them are exiting the stage tent after Judy's play had ended, Josh Hopps busy smiling at his young niece skipping with joy. He understands it well, knowing he felt the same way all the way back when he was just her age after he revealed his dream to his sister and their parents. While he was happy for Judy however, Bonnie and Stu remain all the more concerned at the prospect of their daughter choosing to be a Police Officer as a career choice.
The two Rabbits are very aware of the dangers of that particular job, especially considering no bunny has ever officially become one. They want talk to Judy, though they know it is going to risk breaking Judy's cheerful good mood because her parents don't like the idea of a Rabbit Police Officer. Despite this particular worry though, both parents choose to take the gamble as they decide to talk to their daughter about her decision of her choice of a future job.
Josh Hopps can only watch the following conversation unfold before him, due to wanting to observe until he finds time to pitch in too. He watches on quietly, while understanding both Bonnie's and Stu's concerns about Judy taking on a job knowing to be filled with unlimited amounts of danger. He knows he has a similar job to it, though he chooses to not go direct public about it as his job is a very serious one with most animals preferring to call him indirectly.
"Judy, you ever wonder how your mom and me got to be so darn happy?" Stu said, while his daughter is skipping with joy.
"Nope" Judy said, keeping her focus on what's in front of her with a joyful facial expression.
"Well, we gave up on our dreams and we settled, right Bon?" Stu said, he looks to Bonnie for support.
"Oh yes, that's right Stu, we settled pretty hard" Bonnie said, briefly unsure of what to say.
"See? That's beauty of complacency, Jude. If you don't try anything new, you'll never fail" Stu said, hoping for his daughter to see the point he's trying to make.
"I like trying, actually" Judy said, letting go of her parent's paws as she jumps on a line of hay and continues to skip.
"What your father means, hun, is that it's gonna be difficult, impossible even, for you to become a Police Officer" Bonnie said, her face increasing with worry.
"Right! There's never been a bunny cop" Stu said, he quickly agrees with his wife.
"No" Bonnie said, reaffirming her position on the matter.
"Bunnies don't do that" Stu said, still agreeing with Bonnie.
"Never!" Bonnie said, taking another step further in her affirmations.
"Never" Stu said, trying to get Judy to understand his and Bonnie's view on the subject.
"Oh..." Judy said, briefly becomes disappointed until her enthusiastic expression reappears. "Then I guess I will have to be the first one! Because I am gonna make the world a better place!."
Josh continues to admire his niece's continuing optimism as she skips, before she runs to a hay stand, flips it, lands in a pose to finish it. It is during this part, Judy's uncle takes the time to voice his opinion on the matter as he hopes to keep both sides relatively satisfied in their respective viewpoints. He knows it's a tough position, especially when both the parents and Judy are correct in what they're saying to each other with this only making his opinion more difficult.
"Your parents are right, Judy, being a Police Officer can be very dangerous" Josh said, voicing his opinion. "But the good side of it, you get to help others."
"Exactly Uncle Josh! That's why I really want to get the job all the more" Judy said, she holds her uncle's paw. "Besides, you're like a cop in a way, uncle Josh."
"Well, I'm not sure about being a cop in every sense of the word itself" Josh said, he looks at Judy's hopeful eyes. "But I do still investigate, that's still important."
"But people often come to you for help, which is a job I want to do too" Judy said, looking at her uncle in hope. "Also, what kind of investigator are you, uncle Josh?"
"Honestly, Judy, I'm a Undercover Private Investigator at the H.P.I.A" Josh said, until he sees Judy's confusion. "It stands for Hopps Private Investigations Agency, kid."
"So you're like the boss of your own work department? It's amazing" Judy said, becoming even more excited. "You know, Uncle Josh, one day, we'll both be partners."
Her uncle smiles at his hopeful niece as they continue walking together, he can definitely see his niece becoming a Police Officer in future. He has faith in Judy, though he also understands why her parents are still hesitate about the idea of her becoming the first bunny to have a job in law enforcement related. He looks at his niece, who looks at him to see the wink being aimed at her with the act causing her to smile brightly at her uncle's continued support of her Police dream.
While seeing the interaction between Josh and Judy as a positive sight, Bonnie and Stu can't help feeling all the more nervous for the two. They are aware, their daughter has always seen her uncle as her role model with the two often spending a lot of time together in playing games and telling stories too. Despite their worries, Stu still has hopes of convincing their daughter to choose a more safer job rather than go for a job often related to seemingly unrelenting danger.
"Or, uh, heck, you know, if you wanna talk about making the world a better place" Stu said, laughing nervously. "No better way to do it, than becoming a carrot farmer."
"Yes! Your dad, me, your two-hundred seventy-five brothers and sisters" Bonnie said, continuing their efforts to change Judy's mind. "We're changing the world".
"Yeah" Stu said, he quickly agrees with his wife again.
"One Carrot at a time" continues Bonnie, further making her point.
"Amen to that. Carrot farming is a noble profession" Stu said, taking his agreement with Bonnie further.
While her parents continue to try to dissuade her from her dream job, Judy takes the time to look around her to see three of her friends. Josh sees it too, he recognizes all the three friends as Sharla the black sheep, Gareth the white sheep and an unknown young rabbit walking away happily. Unfortunately he sees Gideon Grey, the latter soon starts to follow the three friends with a male Black-Footed Ferret friend of his called Travis as the rabbits share a worry look together.
The look is a brief one because they both start following the two bullies, which they did without Bonnie and Stu realizing they've ran off. Speaking of the latter, they each keep up their respective attempts to prevent Judy from following her dream without realizing she and her Uncle are missing. When they do finally catch up, they are quick to see it as Stu begins to look around him with his wife doing the same in search of the now missing uncle and niece duo.
"Mm-Hm, just putting seeds on the ground" Bonnie said, continuing her point.
"Ahh. And one with the soil, just getting covered in dirt" Stu said as he elaborates on what his wife is saying.
"You get it, honey. Yeah, but it's great to have dreams" assures Bonnie, attempting to assure her daughter.
"Yeah, just as long as you don't believe in them too much"Stu said, only for him and Bonnie to realize Judy is gone. "Where'd the heck she go?"
"Not only that, where did her uncle go too?, that's strange" Bonnie said, searching for Judy and Josh. "Well, as long as she's with your brother, she's ok".
While her parents are looking around in search of her and her uncle, the two Rabbits-in-question are silently peeking from behind a tree. They see a bad sight, which involves Sharla along with her younger brother Gareth and the young Rabbit being intimidated by both Gideon Grey and Travis. Josh and Judy share a look, before they return their full attention as Josh silently gets out his carrot before pressing the record button to get his evidence of the bully's actions.
"Gimme your tickets right now, or I'm gonna kick your meek little sheep butt!" threatens Gideon, forcefully shoving Sharla's head.
"Ow!, cut it out, Gideon!" demands Sharla, while her brother and the young girl rabbit hide behind her.
"Baaa!, Baaa!" mocks Gideon, taking Sharla's and Gareth's and the girl Rabbit's tickets from before tucking them in his overalls. "What are you gonna do? Cry?"
"Hey! You heard her, cut it out" Judy said, making her presence known by stepping forward to stand up to Gideon.
Josh smiles at the sight of his niece standing up to a bully like Gideon, while not being surprised to see Travis choosing to hide behind him. He continues to watch, seeing how events will play out from here as he knows he is getting a lot of evidence in terms of Gideon's bullying actions of the kids. He puts trust in Judy, understanding she is aware of what she's doing as he waits for his chance to make his presence known to both of the two bullies themselves.
"Nice costume, loser!" Gideon said, speaking to Judy in a sarcastic manner. "What crazy world are you living in, where you think a bunny can be a cop?"
"Kindly return my friend's tickets" Judy said, remaining unfazed by Gideon's attempts to intimidate her.
"Come and get them!" challenges Gideon, daring Judy to take the tickets. "But watch out, I'm a fox, and like you said in your dumb little stage play, us predators used to eat prey! And our killer instinct's still in our duh-nuh."
"Uh, I'm pretty much sure it's pronounced D-N-A."Travis said, taking the chance to correct Gideon's mistake.
"Don't tell me what I know, Travis!" Gideon said, becoming irritated by him and swats him away.
"You don't scare me, Gideon!" Judy said, she continues to stand up to him.
Suddenly he forcefully pushes her to the ground on her back painfully, which horrifies her uncle and her friends while amusing Gideon a lot. Fury grows in Josh, who uses a lot of his will-power to hold himself to the spot as he knows it isn't the end and he forces himself to stay exactly where he is. He watches on worried, hoping the incident will soon come to an end as he sees Judy's friends join him in hiding behind the tree and he spots Judy's fallen police hat on the ground.
"Scared now?" mocks Gideon, he watches Judy's eyes water and her nose twitch in fear.
"Look at her nose twitch!" Travis said, joining Gideon in mocking Judy. "She is scared!"
"Cry, little baby bunny" laughs Gideon, continuing to mock a downed Judy. "Cry! Cr-."
He's interrupted when Judy kicks him hard in the face with her two feet, the impact causes Gideon to briefly stumble backwards in his pain. The sight causes gasps, especially in the three friends with Josh as they are shocked by Judy's action with Josh joining in on the gasps himself. He tries to make his presence known, until Judy spots him as she silently encourages him to stay where he is before silently telling him she's ok and Josh silently nods in response.
"Aww, you don't know when to quit, do you?" Gideon said, he feels his hurt lip before unsheathing his claws.
Judy pulls back in fear as Gideon swings his claws at her with his might, causing a slashing sound to occur and Judy's shriek follows soon after. Josh holds himself still, while he keeps his niece's three friends behind him in case Gideon decides to turn his attention back towards them. A few seconds after Gideon slashed her, Judy reopens her eyes due to closing them in the moments before the slashing as she touches her slashed left cheek before Gideon grabs her.
"I want you to remember this moment" threatens Gideon, forcefully shoves Judy's head to the ground. "The next time you think, you will ever be anything more than just a stupid, carrot-farming dumb bunny!"
It's only after giving Judy's head a final shove that Gideon left with Travis, both bullies high-fiving and laughing with each other at Judy's suffering. When it was clear, Josh as well as his niece's three friends rush from behind the tree towards Judy as Josh stops the recording on his pen. All four of them quickly check on Judy, each making sure she's ok as Josh takes the time to examine the three claw scratch mark on her left cheek while her friends hope she is ok.
"That looks bad!" Gareth said, worry in his voice.
"Are you okay, Judy?" Sharla said, hoping Judy is ok.
"Yeah, Yeah, I'm okay" Judy said, revealing her friend's tickets in her right paw. "Here you go."
"Wow!, you got our tickets!" Sharla said, she happily retakes the tickets.
"You're awesome, Judy" Gareth said, impressed by Judy's actions.
"I'll admit, I was scared" Josh said, he looks at his niece in concern before smiling. "But what you did was very brave, Judy, I'm proud of you."
"Thanks uncle Josh!" Judy said, she happily hugs her uncle. "I'm so sorry for scaring you, I shouldn't have put you through that."
"It's ok, kid, it's ok" Josh said, he gladly returns the hug. "Besides, you did show Gideon that you aren't scared of him".
"Yeah! That Gideon doesn't know what he's talking about!" Sharla said, agreeing with Judy's uncle.
"Well, he was right about one thing"Judy said, she breaks the hug, gets up to her feet, walks over to her fallen police hat, picks it up and places it on her head. " I don't know when to quit".
Josh walks over to his niece before wrapping his right arm around her, while Judy happily leans into him as they share a brief moment together. They stay like this, until it was time for them to return to Bonnie and Stu in order for them to be assured they are both safe and sound. When the four are reunited with each other, Josh takes the time to do Judy's friends a favor by returning them to their parents before he reports Gideon's and Travis's bullying until he along with Judy return to their family.
It's a good thing Judy stood up to Gideon and Travis, those two are definitely very rude.
