Episode Fifty-Seven: Shadows of the Void

The Sky Patrol is in relative silence after the fierce battle with Metal Sonic. The crew is still processing the shocking return of Eggman's most dangerous weapon. Silver stands by the large observation window, staring into the sky with a grim expression, while Sailor Moon and the other Sailor Senshi, including Mars, are gathered around him, listening intently.

*Silver: (voice low, tense) "He's back. Sally was right."

Sailor Jupiter looks up sharply at his words, her heart sinking as the weight of the situation settles in. She had once believed that with Eggman trapped in the Void, the threat was gone for good. But now, the memory of Sally's desperate plea floods back, ringing in her ears with painful clarity.

*Jupiter: (whispering, disbelieving) "No… but we thought he was trapped. We thought… he couldn't escape…"

Silver turns to face the group, his face darkened with worry.

*Silver: "Eggman was trapped in the Void; Jack left him there. Sally was right — he found a way out. She warned us, but we didn't listen. The fact that Metal Sonic is now here, after all this time, means that he had to have come back. Eggman escaped. Metal was lost in limbo after Operation: Worlds Unite, meaning Eggman had to have gone into limbo to fish him out."

Jupiter's mind flashes back to that fateful moment when Sally had tried to convince them all, especially Sonic, that Eggman's return was inevitable. Her words echo through Jupiter's mind, haunting her.

"Sonic, YOU know better than this. He's come back from far worse. You're going to relent because he's in the Void?! He WILL come back! YOU KNOW IT! AND YOU STILL WON'T HELP ME?!"

Sailor Moon and the other Sailors listen in shock as Silver recounts Sally's warning. Sailor Moon's eyes fill with dread, the weight of the revelation hitting her hard.

*Moon: (softly) "She was right… and now Eggman's back, and we weren't ready."

Jupiter clenches her fists, guilt and regret washing over her. She had been so sure, so convinced that they had seen the last of Eggman, but now it was clear just how wrong she had been. Her naivete feels like a heavy burden on her shoulders.

*Jupiter: (voice trembling) "I… I told her we didn't have to worry anymore. I told her he was gone for good…"

Tails steps forward, his expression somber as he addresses the group, knowing that the explanation of Metal Sonic's origins will only deepen the emotional blow.

*Tails: (quietly) "It's worse than just Eggman coming back. Metal Sonic… he's not just another robot like Jack. He's Sonic… from another reality."

Sailor Moon's eyes widen, and the rest of the Sailors look at Tails in stunned disbelief.

*Tails: (sorrowful) "In another timeline, Sonic lost to Eggman. He was captured, and Eggman turned him into Metal Sonic — a living machine, sent out to destroy everything he ever stood for. That could've been our Sonic if things had gone differently."

Sailor Moon's heart skips a beat, her mind racing with the horrifying image of Sonic being turned into a cold, soulless machine. She takes a step back, trembling at the thought.

*Moon: (whispering, horrified) "Sonic-kun… that could've been you."

Her knees feel weak, and she grips her brooch tightly, trying to steady herself. The room is filled with a heavy, emotional silence as the reality of the situation sinks in for everyone. The heroes stand united in their resolve, but the fear and regret linger heavily in the air.

Cut to the icy expanse of Artika, where the harsh winds howl across the frozen wasteland. Sally is in the thick of battle, her Ring-Blades glowing with the power of the Green and Yellow Chaos Emeralds. She slices through the Artika Egg Soldiers with precision and fury, her movements fluid and lethal. The soldiers — a mix of Walruses, Polar Bears, and Seals — are the toughest opponents Sally has faced in her crusade, but she presses forward, undeterred. Each swing of her blades sends sparks of energy flying as she carves a path toward the heart of the base. Her breath is visible in the cold air, her body tense as she pushes herself to the limit.

*Sally: (gritting her teeth) "You're not stopping me... None of you will."

As she fights her way through the final wave of soldiers, a massive figure steps forward, blocking her path. Tundra the Walrus, the imposing Egg Boss of the Artika Egg Army, stands tall, his arms crossed as he watches Sally with cold, calculating eyes. His cybernetic enhancements glint in the dim light, the frost engine embedded in his chest humming with power.

*Tundra: (gruffly) "So, you've come all this way just to die, Princess. How noble... and foolish."

Sally's eyes narrow with hatred as she locks eyes with Tundra. Her disdain for him runs deep — not only is he one of Eggman's most trusted commanders, but he is also the father of her friend Rotor, a man who once tried to force his son into a life of violence and cruelty.

*Sally: (coldly) "You don't get to call me foolish, Tundra. Not after everything you did to Rotor. I'm not leaving here until you're gone."

Tundra chuckles darkly, his breath visible in the freezing air as he steps forward, towering over Sally. His frost engine glows as he prepares for the fight, ice beginning to swirl around his hands.

*Tundra: "You've got guts, I'll give you that. But guts won't save you from me."

The two warriors charge at each other, clashing in a brutal battle. Tundra unleashes a blast of freezing breath from his frost engine, forcing Sally to dodge and weave to avoid being frozen solid. His strength and size make him a formidable opponent, and Sally struggles to find an opening as he keeps her at a distance with his blizzard breath. Despite the pain in her muscles and the cold biting at her skin, Sally fights on, her Ring-Blades cutting through the air as she tries to close the distance. But every time she gets close, Tundra's frosty breath pushes her back, and she finds herself on the defensive, barely able to keep up with his relentless attacks.

*Sally: (breathing heavily, frustrated) "He's too strong... I can't get in close!"

Tundra smirks, sensing that he's gaining the upper hand. He steps forward, his massive hand reaching out to grab her, but Sally manages to slip out of his grasp at the last second.

*Tundra: (grinning) "Give up, Princess. You can't win."

Sally's eyes dart around, searching for a way to turn the tide. Then, she glances at her Warp Ring, an idea forming in her mind. She waits for Tundra's next attack, narrowly avoiding a blast of icy wind as he lunges at her. In the split second that follows, she activates the Warp Ring, disappearing in a flash of light and reappearing behind Tundra. Tundra, caught off guard, turns too late as Sally drives her green Ring-Blade into his back, piercing through his armor. The massive Walrus lets out a roar of pain, stumbling forward before collapsing onto the icy ground.

*Tundra: (groaning) "You..."

Sally pulls her blade free, watching as Tundra's body falls still. She stands over him for a moment, breathing heavily, her entire body aching from the fight. But the battle has taken its toll, and she drops to her knees, her breath coming in short, quick gasps. The pain in her chest returns, sharper and more intense than before, and she clutches at her side, wincing in agony.

*Sally: (whispering, pained) "What... is this feeling...?"

The pain lingers longer this time, and Sally finds herself unable to move for several minutes. Eventually, it subsides, but she's left shaken and exhausted, barely able to stand. Slowly, she forces herself to her feet, staggering toward the base to rest. This battle almost took her out, but she refuses to fall now.

Cut to the Egg 'Stache Flyer, where Eggman paces back and forth, his mind racing as he processes the destruction of the Artika Egg Army base. His fingers twitch with frustration, and his face is twisted in anger as he glares at the monitor displaying the ruined base.

*Eggman: (furious) "Another base gone... and that blasted princess is still out there!"

Orbot and Cubot hover nearby, both looking nervously at their increasingly agitated boss. Eggman slams his fist onto the control panel, his teeth clenched as he struggles to maintain control.

*Eggman: "I'm running out of options. There's nowhere left to run... Nowhere to hide!"

He glances at the fuel gauge for the Egg 'Stache Flyer, realizing that it's only a matter of time before he's grounded for good. And with Sally's Warp Ring, she could be at his doorstep in an instant, ready to finish him off. Eggman's mind races, but every potential solution seems futile.

*Eggman: (growling) "I'm cornered..."

He turns his gaze to Metal Sonic, who stands silently nearby, his red eyes glowing in the dim light. Eggman's expression darkens as he stares into the cold, mechanical eyes of his greatest weapon.

*Eggman: (quietly, to himself) "Metal Sonic... You're my last hope. If anyone can stop her, it's you."

Metal Sonic remains still, his gaze fixed on the horizon as he waits for his next command, a silent predator ready to strike.
