Chapter 22: Just Peachy

Trevor was typing 'Johnny Depp and Kristen Stewart' in the Google search bar twenty minutes later. Lucky sat near him in another chair. He touched his mouse and moved the cursor to search. He clicked on it. A list of headlines concerning the two came up. He went to the first link in which it happened to feature a Deadline article titled 'Johnny Depp Praises Kristen Stewart.' He clicked on it, causing the page to come up. Pictures of the duo from July 2024 could be seen under the title.

"Look at this, Lucky," Trevor said, scrolling down to the first paragraph. "This article states 'Kristen Stewart has no shortage of praise from her peers these days. Johnny Depp can now be added to that list. He calls her an amazing artist who is so focused on her work. He also states she and Robert Pattinson were lucky to break free of the Twilight Saga.' Talk about amazing."

"Kristen is just like Johnny. Almost no one has a bad thing to say about her," Lucky said, warmth showing in her voice.

"Unfortunately, some people still hold that cheating scandal against her. It's been thirteen years. Why can't they let it go?" Trevor grumbled with a roll of his eyes.

"Their hatred for her overrides everything else in their lives. They are obsessed with it. They know it is eating them up from the inside out. They do not care and are determined to hate her for the rest of their lives. Thank God everyone else has let go of their hate. They have chosen not to care about her anymore. That takes real maturity," Lucky explained.

"Some of the nutty robsessed support Amber Heard," Trevor said, shuddering in disgust. "They enjoy harassing and bullying non-abusive women like Kristen. They consider her bad choices to be worse than anything Amber has done."

"Kristen doesn't have a record of driving under the influence and killing a friend with her vehicle on a suspended license," Lucky pointed out truthfully. "Amber does. It happened before she turned eighteen. Of course, those bitches don't care."

"I don't condone Kristen's cheating on Robert, but I refuse to hold it against her for the rest of her life. He did say that shit happened. It is obvious he knows way more about the situation than he is letting on," Trevor said. "He won't talk about it."

"I do like how he said hating Twilight was so 2010 while he was promoting The Batman alongside Zoe Kravitz. He was basically telling people to let go of that hatred as a decade had passed since the release of Breaking Dawn Part 2," Lucky said and chuckled softly.

"Unfortunately, you can't convince some people to stop hating something, no matter how hard you try. You might as well accept it," Trevor replied, giving a shrug.

"Ditto," Lucky agreed.

Trevor scrolled a little further down while whispering inaudible words. He focused on the second paragraph. He cupped his chin in his hand. He clicked his tongue three times.

"'Johnny also states he is so grateful to Robert and Kristen for not abandoning their friendship with Lily-Rose Depp during that difficult time in her life. He mentions he would not have blamed them if they had because the drama was too much for them to deal with. He wants his baby girl to be surrounded by people who are a good influence on her. He feels the Twilight stars are just that.' They really are," Trevor commented, a small smile crossing his lips. "Lily-Rose always looked happy around Robert and Kristen. She always looked unhappy around Amber."

"I don't blame her for hating Amber in the least bit. The same goes for Jack Depp," Lucky said honestly. "I would hate my ex-stepmother if she abused my father. Of course, I don't have one. You get my drift."

"Yep," Trevor said, reaching over and pinching her cheek.

"No pinching my cheek," Lucky said while swatting his hand aside. "I am not a baby."

He let out a fake sniffle. "I can't believe you hurt my feelings."

"Turn off the waterworks," Lucky warned in a stern voice.

"It's my room. I will cry if I want to," Trevor declared and turned his nose upward.

She blew a raspberry. "I would cry too if it happened to me."

He smacked her in the back of her head. She waved her hand in front of his face. She raised it high and jerked it downward rapidly. He gave her a slap to the face. She rushed two fingers forward. He blocked her by putting his hand in between his eyes. He pushed hers downward. They laughed in some delight.

"It is hard to resist doing that Three Stooges routine," Lucky whispered and took a deep breath.

"When Mom showed Phoebe and me The Three Stooges shorts, we were enamored by them. Moe, Larry, and Curly cracked us up so much. Dino hated it when we watched them. He thought we would imitate their dangerous stunts," Trevor grumbled while rolling his eyes. "Phoebe and I aren't stupid. We know we shouldn't imitate what we see on TV."

"No one should," Lucky responded and cleared her throat. She formed a big frown on her face. "Unfortunately, some people do on dares or to be like them. It has resulted in serious injuries and even death."

"All it takes for someone to lose their common sense is being called a coward. Then they have to prove they aren't cowards," Trevor scoffed irritatingly.

Lucky held up a finger. "Like Marty McFly in the Back to the Future series."

"Exactly. Chicken was the version of coward in Marty's world. He had a future where he tried to prove he wasn't chicken and ended up in an automobile accident according to Back to the Future Part II. The Rolls-Royce's driver pressed charges against him. He broke his hand and gave up on his music," Trevor explained.

"By Back to the Future Part III, he had learned not to care about what other people thought of him. Needles ended up being the one who challenged him to race after he returned to the present. Marty was able to avoid that accident by acting like he was participated, but he drove backward instead. Jennifer had brought back a note from the future. It erased at that moment after she unfolded it," Lucky added. "Doc revealed it meant no one's future had been written. Their future was whatever they made of it, so they should make it a good one."

"Marty promised he and Jennifer would do just that," Trevor said, a chuckle escaping his lips. "I imagine they did."

"George and Lorraine would be eighty-eight years old this year. Marty and Jennifer would be fifty-seven. Marty Jr and Marlene would be twenty-seven," Lucky said, awe lining her voice.

Trevor exhaled. "Yep."

Lucky stretched her arms above her head. She leaned forward to stretch her back. She returned to her normal sitting position. Trevor placed his hands on his neck.

"I think you and your family should start Twitter and Instagram accounts," she suggested.

"You think so?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Sure. People would love to see what the Ghostbusters have to say," Lucky replied, giggling to herself. "It doesn't have to be just about ghostbusting. You can talk about the weather, who barfed in the zoo bathroom, how many birds you saw, etc. You can share pictures and videos if you want."

"That would be really cool," Trevor said and smiled a bit. "Of course, our fans would be shocked to know Phoebe is pregnant."

"You don't have to share that if you don't want to," Lucky pointed out softly. "That can remain quiet."

"I think we should leave it up to her and Podcast whether they want to let followers know about it or not," Trevor suggested.

"I think so too," Lucky agreed. "Of course, the rest of New York City already knows about Gabrielle. It was announced on the news. Phoebe looked so happy standing in front of the Firehouse in one article."

"She admitted she had no idea when she will return to ghostbusting. Mom and Dad told her to take her time. There was no rush in the least bit," Trevor commented while rubbing his nose. "I predict it will be six months after Gabrielle's birth that she will return to her job."

"I predict it will be a year," Lucky murmured while grabbing a handful of braids. "She and Podcast were wise to choose to be homeschooled." She squeaked in delight. "It will allow them to care for Gabrielle while keeping up with their studies at the same time."

"Imagine the teacher starting a lesson. Gabrielle starts crying on the baby monitor. Phoebe goes upstairs to take care of her. If the baby is hungry, her mother can bring her downstairs and breastfeed her while the lecture is going on," Trevor said, holding up his hands.

"That has a nice to ring to it," Lucky said, blinking twice. She clenched her teeth somewhat tightly. "I have seen mothers being shamed for bottle-feeding their babies instead of breastfeeding them. The babies may not be able to digest breastmilk. They may not be able to latch on a breast properly. Formula is the next best thing for them."

"No one should judge someone unless they have walked a mile in their shoes," Trevor commented in much bluntness. "It is as simple as that."

"Unfortunately, there will always be people judging others for this and that. It sucks, but it is what is. We can't do anything to change it," Lucky said in a bit of sadness.

"Mm-hmm," Trevor agreed. "Life can come at you so fast that you don't have time to blink."

Lucky ran her hand over her boyfriend's hair. He took it into his and kissed the back of it. He gave it such a light pat that it seemed he wasn't even doing that. He released his hold on it.

"It's so hard to believe it's been two years since my family moved here. It feels like only yesterday," Trevor admitted with a light laugh.

"When Winston offered me an internship with the Paranormal Research Center, I couldn't refuse, especially after he said I could live with him. Dad wasn't too thrilled because I would halfway across the country, but he wished me well," Lucky explained.

"You were so brave to take on Garraka right after he escaped," Trevor said, his eyebrows raising.

"I couldn't let him wreak havoc. I had no clue he was so powerful until he froze my proton stream. I was so shocked as that had never happened before. Not even Gozer had such power," Lucky said, swallowing hard.

"The biggest difference between the entities is Gozer being genderless. However, it often took on the form of a woman in slime clothes. You could call it a shapeshifter," Trevor added.

"I wonder if Gozer could shapeshift into any kind of animal," Lucky said very curiously.

"It probably could have," Trevor admitted while propping his head up with his elbow. "It doesn't matter. That creature is trapped where it belongs. It can't get out again."

"Yeah," Lucky agreed with a nod. "Let's hope no other powerful ghosts cause such trouble for a while."

"Mm-hmm," Trevor whispered and turned back to the computer. He proceeded to read more of the article.
