Disclaimer: Can't have a mid-season story arc without something major impacting the story in some way. And it finally has something involving Sid. About time I gave him some spotlight in this chapter, even if it's for a hostage situation. Either way, let's commence with the chapter!
Also, I don't own Paw Patrol.
Paw Patrol X
Powered Up Pooches arc Episode eleven: Pirate Hostage
Continuing right from where the previous chapter left off, Victoria started holding Sid up by him shirt as Liberty recovered from her kick. When she tried to charge at her, she got ready with her other hand. "Stay back or I'm shocking him!" Liberty stopped in her tracks, unsure of what she could do about Sid's predicament. She wanted to help, but one wrong move, and he would be fried to a crisp. The others saw this as well, and Rocky took advantage of this to take out a flash grenade he prepared for Slash. In the nick of time, he pulled the pick.
After throwing the flash grenade to the ground, he covered his eyes, blinding Slash, as well as Ryder and Rubble. He apologized to the others as he smashed Slash's head with a steel pipe. "Sorry guys!" Slash was knocked to the ground thanks to Rocky's force, and he started using his powers to hold the pipe up to his neck at full force. Slash grabbed the pipe and attempted to push it off, only for Rocky to step on the pipe. This made it that much harder for Slash to pull himself up.
Victoria, who already had Liberty wrapped around her finger with her threat to harm Sid, used the same threat to get Rocky's attention. "I'd recommend stepping back kid." Rocky saw Victoria bringing her electric arm closer to Sid. He looked around for something he could use while trying to be as subtle as possible. He noticed a metal pipe near Victoria, and he moved a finger over to her to try and trip her. He succeeded, but Victoria managed to hold onto Sid. Sid tried to stab Victoria, only for her to grab his sword and throw it to the side.
Rubble tried to use his powers to roll into Slash's head, but Slash stopped it with his right paw. While this made him start choking, he mustered up enough strength to throw Rubble at Rocky, who accidentally knocked him to the ground with both of them tumbling as a result. Slash took a moment to breathe before speaking up. "I must commend you Rocky. That plan was exquisite." Rocky glared at Slash, who started spinning around the steel pipe. "And bringing yourself to execute it took balls of steel."
Ryder aimed a punch at Slash that almost hit, but Slash countered and knocked him back, slamming him to the ground after dodging his follow up kick. He then threw a portal to the side, allowing Victoria to walk over to it as she held Sid. Victoria gave a crazy glare to Liberty, who was unsure of what to do in that moment. She then noticed that the portal led to the highest point in Adventure City: The top floor of Humdinger's old building. She knew exactly what they might be planning to do with Sid after seeing that. "That's Humdinger's building! You aren't..."
"We might be. Anything could happen with my very first hostage!" Victoria said before laughing, and then she stepped into the portal before explaining what she meant. "I never planned on using you or the pirate Dachshund for anything." The mention of Arrby made Sid aim a punch at Victoria, which she grabbed with delight. "Oooh, feisty!"
Slash walked over to the portal, looking back at Rocky for a bit after kicking him back when he charged at him. "Rocky. Has being impulsive ever worked out for you?" Rocky was about to speak before Slash did. "Don't need to answer that." Liberty was watching in horror as Slash complimented Victoria's quick thinking. "Brilliant move holding the pirate human hostage Victoria. Just make sure your torture plan for him is satisfying." Slash gave a sadistic grin, fueling Liberty's desire to rush in. "Some plans are underwhelming. Some plans are just gold."
Liberty gave a determined and angry expression, charging at Slash without hesitation, getting Rocky's attention and making him worry. "Liberty!" The others worried as well when Slash looked at Liberty, who somehow managed to run all the way up to him and tackle him with a fierce grunt. After hitting Slash hard enough to send him through the portal, they landed on the other side with Victoria and Sid right before the portal closed. Wave, Zuma and Everest had surrounded Victoria, being ready to save their friend.
At the same time, Skye was recovering from something, having apparently been dazed after a surprise attack. "What the heck was that? Was that... Humdinger?"
Ryder jumped onto the plane, noticing that Skye was dazed and giving her the next part of her job to do. "Great job Skye. Once you feel good enough to come out here, we need your help against the demons."
"I'm on it Ryder. Let's take to the sky!" Skye called out, running out of the plane to help her team. Luckily, Ryder came to her right as she was about to head out anyway.
Meanwhile, Snow and Claw were protecting the citizens of Adventure City from the demons near their area in the mission. They were able to get everyone on their current block protected with barriers, but they knew it was gonna be a lot of work. Claw then thought of something as he looked at Snow. "Hang on. Why don't we just drive our trucks around the city and throw the barriers at people?"
"And risk missing with the barriers or hitting someone? No." Snow answered, continuing onto the next block with Claw as she wiped her forehead. "At least we got the short end of the stick when it came to demons. If we keep this up, we'll be able to help the others back at the Lookout with Slash and Victoria."
"That's assuming they'll still be there by the time we get back." Claw replied, and as soon as he did...
Humdinger came down at them with a strong landing into the ground, one that was strong enough to push Snow and Claw back a bit with the impact. When Snow and Claw looked at Humdinger after recovering, Humdinger laughed before revealing his new suit to them. "Hello Snow; Claw! Fancy my new suit?"
Snow and Claw inspected the armored tech Humdinger was wearing, and Snow had her own opinion about it. "No, not really. It looks like something you'd rip off from Rocky."
"For your information you smart mouthed Malamute, this was made by Victoria from her own original design!"
"I'm a Husky, and I don't care. At least let us see what the suit does before you start bragging about it."
"Very well." Humdinger said, giving a devious grin as he called out for one of the pup's powers, which shocked Snow and Claw when they heard it. "I think I know what I'd like to play with today. Humding-armor! Activate Marshall's meteorite power!"
Humdinger's suit created fire from both of his palms as he held them up. Claw was the first to comment on this with concern. "Oh crap. Um... Marshall burns things, right?"
This earned a deadpan look from Snow. "Gee Claw. I don't know!" Snow and Claw readied themselves to face off against Humdinger, who aimed his fire attack right at them.
Sweetie and Arrby were still protected by the barrier Arrby retrieved down in the sewer with Sweetie fearing for everyone's safety. She was particularly worried about Claw, despite knowing about his shield ability. "Be honest Arrby. Do you think Claw's going to be okay?"
"He should be. His shield is pretty durable." Arrby reminded Sweetie, and then he went to comfort her in regards to her fear. "I know you're scared Sweetie. I am too. And frustrated. It's hard being down here and not helping, knowing that all we can do is hope that the others will be okay."
"And that's part of what worries me." Sweetie admitted, sighing as she opened up a bit about how she felt about the Paw Patrol. "I've always worried about Claw after we became siblings, even when we were struggling to get along during his early knight years. And now, we have friends like Wave, Chase, and Zuma to worry about too. It's scary enough being stuck in the danger, or near it, but having Claw and our friends directly involved in it... it's horrifying."
Arrby scooted over to Sweetie, bringing up something that he felt might help her. "I feel the same way. Especially when I remember Sid's out there."
Sweetie sighed before opening up her bag and pulling out some snacks to calm herself down. "Thanks for trying Arrby, but sharing that you feel the same as someone else doesn't always calm them down."
"Worth a shot." Arrby said with a shrug, seeing that Sweetie was pulling out some coconut cookies. "Can I have some?"
"Sure. Just beware. I'm a messy eater." Sweetie warned Arrby, who laughed a bit before he and Sweetie started eating the cookies. Even with how scared they were about the situation, at least they had cookies and other snacks to help them focus on something else inside the barrier.
Back on the top floor of Humdinger's former building, Wave and the others were trying to figure out how to stop Slash and Victoria before they could hurt Sid. Slash and Victoria were keeping all of the pups in the room at bay with how Victoria held Sid. Even if they got close enough to save Sid in time, Victoria would just shock the one who saved him. Liberty, who'd just entered the room with Slash, yelped upon getting smacked to the side by Slash. She tumbled before landing near Wave, who checked up on her while focusing on Victoria and Sid.
Wave then got an idea after she remembered how Liberty was able to take Victoria's electricity head on as if it were nothing. Wave looked at Liberty and gave a nod to let her know she was about to move. Liberty nodded back, getting herself ready for whatever she had planned. Victoria was walking up to Sid's neck with the fingers of her free hand as Slash noticed what Wave and Liberty were doing. Wave grabbed Liberty and got ready as Slash called to Victoria. "Victoria! Now!"
Wave sped up as soon as he heard Slash's voice and threw Liberty as hard as she could at Victoria. Victoria knew she couldn't zap Liberty, so she tried to grab her. But Liberty started biting down on her finger, making her lose focus. "Ow!" Victoria tried to hold onto Sid while shaking Liberty off, only for Zuma to use this chance to blast the ground with water as Wave held Slash up. After Wave forced Slash to block a power kick, which sent him back, Zuma used the water to slide under Victoria. When she dodged his slide kick, Everest blasted the water.
Once the water turned into ice, Victoria started slipping on it, causing her to fall on her back and let go of Sid and Liberty as a result. Liberty and Sid got back up with Wave being knocked back over to Sid. She regained her balance before giving Sid some advice on how to survive. "Sid, I think you should leave this to us for now!"
Wave dodged Slash's kick and started dodging and blocking his strikes as Sid went for the corner. "Good call. I lost my sword anyway." And with that, Sid made a run for it.
Victoria chased after Sid with Liberty jumping onto her to try and stop her. "Oh no you don't!" Liberty bit down on Victoria's leg, making her stumble for a bit due to the force and falling down in the hallway.
Zuma rushed over to Liberty to help her, but Victoria put up an electric force field while warning him to stay back. "You'd better stay back Ocean Dog! This one's mine, and I have more than electricity for weapons!" She set electricity to the floor as well, meaning Zuma couldn't slip underneath the force field with his water.
Zuma looked back and saw Wave and Everest struggling against Slash. After noticing this, he looked back at Liberty with assurance that he'd be back for her. "We'll help you as soon as we can Libewty. We just need some time." Zuma then rushed into battle, leaving Liberty alone to take on Victoria.
Victoria threw Liberty across the hallway, making her tumble before getting back on her four paws and glaring at Victoria. Even without her power, she refused to let Slash, Victoria, and Humdinger get away with what they were doing. She had to wonder what led Victoria down this path however. And what might've involved her in her downfall. She knew doing it during a mission was crazy, but she just had to know why. "What happened Victoria!? You were always making unauthorized calls when I visited the observatory, but I didn't think you'd ever go this far!"
"As if you'd ever understand!" Victoria snapped, startling Liberty and making her step back. And Sid, who was getting a good hearing of what Victoria was saying from inside a nearby room, was sending a text to Arrby about what might happen to him. "You don't know what it's like to have an entire world ignore your brilliance!" Victoria shook her head as she realized what she was about to do. "What the heck am I doing? I almost vented to my nemesis."
Liberty shook her head after hearing that, wishing she and Victoria didn't have to have this kind of dynamic. "I don't even want to BE your nemesis!" Victoria glared at Liberty, who stood her ground as she struggled to express how much Victoria's hatred hurt her. She knew it was weird, and dumb. Someone as awful as Victoria hating her for personal reasons was enough to hurt her. However, thanks to her friends, Wave, Snow, and Arrby especially, she managed to ask about that after a bit of struggle. "At least tell me why Victoria. Why did you pick me?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Victoria asked, taking a stomp over to Liberty as she finished her answer. "Your constantly lucking your way through life, even though I've worked harder than you, and all of your powered up friends, combined!" Liberty was confused after she heard that. What did Victoria mean by 'lucking her way through life'? Did she really think that was all there was to it?
Snow and Claw were still battling against Humdinger's Humding-Armor, which he was making good use of in terms of Marshall's fire powers. They also did their best to protect the people of Adventure City who were in the same area as them while observing the armor. Luckily for them, all of the people in the area were already covered by barriers, or inside. Snow then got an idea and used her creation powers to make some kind of water jug. She slid it at Humdinger after jump rolling over a blast of fire and shot at it with her gun, causing it to leak.
Humdinger noticed this and questioned what exactly Snow was trying to do. During this, she slid over some kind of small item with a snowflake on it to Claw, who picked it up as Humdinger focused on Snow. "You know I can just kick this away, right?"
"And yet, you wasted time pointing that out instead of doing it." Snow then looked at Claw to set her plan in motion. "Claw, throw it!"
Claw did as instructed, hitting the water just as Humdinger jumped back, which caused it to turn into ice. Humdinger laughed at this, putting the fire out just before noticing that Snow was gone. He smirked, failing to notice Snow or Claw anywhere nearby. "Guess their pathetic display humiliated them enough to-" Just then, Humdinger noticed a gas canister slide right under him and over to the fire. Once it hit the fire, it exploded, causing him to fly back.
Humdinger fell flat on his back, taking a moment to recover as Snow and Claw hi pawed. "Well done Snow! I guess he really HAS underestimated us since the beginning."
"He has. But we're not done yet." Snow pointed out, taking notice to how Humdinger's armor was still intact.
"You're right about that! It'll take a lot more fire power to take ME down!" Humdinger laughed maniacally while shooting fire into the air, leaving Snow and Claw back on the offensive as they thought of another way to take Humdinger down.
Back with Sweetie and Arrby, the latter was just getting Sid's text about what his current predicament was. Sweetie noticed his horrified expression and went to check on him out of concern. "What's wrong Arrby?"
"Sid just texted me." Arrby responded, showing Sweetie the text to help her understand. What Arrby said next started to make her worry. "I should've come back up after helping you hide down here. He's done so much for me, and I can't even help him in battle."
Sweetie handed Arrby his phone back after sharing his concern for Sid, wondering why he stayed down here with her. "Then why did you stay down here with me?"
Arrby put his phone away as he answered Sweetie's question. "Because I didn't want to leave you down here alone. Even with the barrier, you would be down here fearing for everyone's lives. Even if the demons can't get to us, I at least wanted to make sure you at least had SOMEONE to talk to, and help you stay calm."
Sweetie then started thinking about the Lookout, worrying about what would happen to everyone else as well. "If only the comic store was closer to the Lookout. Then we could've made our way back there."
"Maybe. But these demons are really fast from what Sid and I saw in our ship." Arrby informed Sweetie, knowing all too well how powerful these demons were. "Now I'm wondering if we would've been as safe as we hoped in our ship's armor." Arrby noticed Sweetie getting scared again and helped her calm down with his desire to keep her safe. "Don't worry Sweetie. If something happens to the barrier, I'll protect you as well as I can."
That did help a bit. Sweetie hated being alone during chaos. "Thanks Arrby. I just hope the battle ends soon." Arrby nodded in agreement, wishing he could go up there and find Sid. But he knew that if he did that, he'd be endangering himself, and Sweetie in the process.
It was only a few moments after Victoria revealed to Liberty why she despises her. She was still trying to make sense of it. "What do you mean by... lucking my way through life?"
Victoria scoffed, being in complete disbelief about Liberty not understanding what she was talking about. "Oh, I don't know. Everyone in the city loving you, getting to join your favorite rescue team, NOT having people ignore how great you are when you surpass them!?"
"That last one doesn't even make sense!" Liberty shouted, wishing Victoria could see why everyone acted the way they did around her. Liberty then started explaining to Victoria just how wrong she was about her luck. "Victoria. Me joining the Paw Patrol wasn't out of luck." Victoria's electricity started intensifying as Liberty continued trying to explain. "They saw that I was working my butt off for everyone, and that I-"
Victoria stomped on the ground, startling Liberty, as well as causing electricity to shoot in front of her, and behind her. Luckily, Liberty's resistance to electricity prevented her from getting hurt. However, Victoria made it clear stomping wasn't the only thing she was ready to do. "What do you know about working hard!? I've been working hard since I was young!"
"Victoria; I'm STILL young!" Liberty pointed out, and then intense music started playing as Liberty continued to correct Victoria. "I know what it's like to struggle Victoria! Just because people took what I do better doesn't mean I was lucking out."
"You can't fool me street rat." Victoria stated, and then she stepped towards Liberty menacingly as she started to sing Left Unfinished. "You say you know struggle!" The step shot electricity towards Liberty, just as the second one did at the end of her next set of lyrics. "When you say that, I can't help but chuckle." Liberty watched as Victoria's intense look made her fear what she was going to do. "I've had lots of hard things in my past to juggle." Victoria clenched her fists before stepping closer to Liberty. "And don't expect me to be subtle."
Victoria walked right up to Liberty, who attempted to bite at her when she reached to pick her up. She should've expected that. "Ever since I was young. I had a brilliant mind that always sung." Liberty tried to run past Victoria, who stopped her by stepping on her back and keeping her there after she yelped. "For some reason, everyone was always scared of me." Victoria showed a sense of sadness towards part of her past. "Even my parents refused to let my hard work be."
Liberty tried to escape, but Victoria kicked her to the wall as she dismissed how she felt about her youth. "I doubt you understand what it's like to have your hard work ignored!" As Liberty recovered, Victoria continued to sing about her perspective from what people thought about her. "They all think your sanity's more important on every cord!" The others could hear the song, but couldn't do anything about it thanks to the force field. "You don't know what it's like to have your heart and soul diminished!"
Victoria knelt down to Liberty, putting a paw on her head after evading her bite. "And then get locked up, making your work left unfinished." Wave was shown running on some ice trails that Everest was making while Zuma kept Slash busy by blinding him with water. After Slash finished rubbing his eyes from the water getting splashed in them, which didn't take long since it was water, Wave backflipped over the ice and kicked it. This sent the broken ice right at Slash, and he covered his eyes so he didn't get blinded. This allowed Wave to go in for a punch.
Wave landed a powerful punch, sending Slash into the window and cracking it. During this, Victoria pinned Liberty against the wall and continued singing. "From when I was a little girl, I did amazing stuff. But they only saw my insanity, my inventions were just fluff." Liberty could see it clear as day. Victoria really thought people should just ignore her insanity and focus on her 'brilliance'. "Not even Adventure City could see what I can do. So watch as I kill them all, including you!"
The mention of taking down Adventure City got Liberty's blood boiling again. Slash and Victoria's plan to take over the city went without saying. But Liberty still became enraged upon the mention of people dying. "That's not gonna happen you sicko! You're not laying your grubby hands on anyone in my city!"
"Ha! Your city. That's adorable." Victoria said, tossing Liberty behind her and kicking her back, making her tumble before she walked up to her while continuing to sing. "And then, I saw you on TV. You were making better progress than me." Liberty backed up every time Victoria stepped forward, and then realized she was getting closer to the field she set up to stop the others from getting in. "The city's eyes were all on you. Why couldn't they do that with me too?"
Liberty continued backing up in sync with Victoria's footsteps, making sure she didn't realize what her plan was. "At least you had some form of support. This city couldn't give me crap!" Liberty was then right at the end of the trap, getting ready to step right through it as she and Victoria looked to the right. "The only one who saw me, was-" Liberty jumped through the force field, catching Victoria's attention before she stomped in response to it. "Darn it! I should've thrown her towards the window!"
Liberty's mind couldn't stop focusing on that one line in the song. 'At least you had some form of support'. She wasn't wrong, but she also knew what it was like to not have that. "Maybe you'll be glad you didn't." Victoria became confused as Liberty explained what she'd been through. "Victoria. You're right. I do have support now. But I also know what it's like to NOT have it." Liberty took a step closer, offering an empathetic paw to Victoria in the hopes that she'd listen. "I went through... a lot of bad stuff before I made my way to Adventure City."
Liberty's somberness upon recalling her past were clear to anyone. Except for Victoria, who couldn't figure out why Liberty was doing this. "It's hard for me to talk about. And even though I've been getting better, I'm still not good at talking about heavy stuff. But I know what it's like to not have support." Victoria started to tense up, her mind causing her to get the wrong idea. "I used to ask myself... why do I get treated like this? Am I really this much of a problem?"
Victoria started to electrify, which Liberty failed to notice due to her emotions starting to get to her. Wave noticed this after she got knocked into the wall, sliding under Slash to keep him. However, what Liberty said next made Slash stop as he wondered what Liberty was doing. "That's why I'm risking everything to protect my city. Because they're the first support group I ever had." Liberty then started thinking about where she was now. It made her smile as she realized something big. "And after I joined the Paw Patrol... I started to feel like I was doing something right."
Slash grabbed Wave's punch, which thankfully for him, wasn't at full power. After throwing Wave to the side, Victoria started clapping slowly, which confused Liberty at first. The others noticed that Slash stopped fighting, and he simply rolled his eyes at how predictable Liberty was. Victoria started expressing her feelings about this soon after he did. And the start definitely threw Liberty for a loop. "I'll admit Street Rat. You're pretty good at this 'emotional mid battle speech' stuff."
Liberty raised an eyebrow in confusion as she wondered what Victoria thought she was getting at. "What're you babblin' about?"
"I know what you're trying to do." Victoria told Liberty, stating exactly what she thought that was after she did. "You thought we were gonna have a little bonding moment, and then I would get soft, and then I'd have a change of heart, and give up mine and Slash's plans or something. Am I right!?"
"Actually, I was trying to let you know you weren't alone." Liberty corrected, telling Victoria that she was missing the point.
"Oh yeah, I already knew that." Victoria confirmed as she pointed to Slash, who was still left baffled by what Liberty was trying to do. "You can't change someone's mind just by talking to then Street Rat!" Victoria stepped through the trap, kicking Liberty and making her tumble on the ground before expressing her hatred for her. Wave rushed over to her as Victoria shot lightning at Zuma and Everest to keep them at bay. "Ugh! You're so annoyingly nice to everyone! Always optimistic! Even after you apparently went through awful things yourself! I hate you so much!"
Slash kicked Wave to the side to resume the battle, causing her to tumble herself. Victoria kept them separated with her lightning as Slash looked down at Liberty with a condescending smile. "Oh Liberty. You're as predictable as you are simple. Simple minded that is." Wave instantly charged at Slash, who dodged her jumping spin kick before grabbing her paw. He then grabbed her neck as Victoria continued to keep the others from moving. "Allow me to reward you for your blind faith."
Slash handed Wave to Victoria with him free paw, making Liberty horrified at what they'd do to her. "No, please; don't! Just do whatever you're thinking of doing to her, to me! Please, don't do it to Wave, or anyone else!"
Victoria gave a maniacal laugh before clarifying one thing to Liberty about who she was. "Come on street rat. You must've caught on by now." Liberty watched in horror as Victoria walked over to the window, kicking it to break it while keeping Wave paralyzed. "The more you beg..." The sadistic grin she gave before her next act said it all. "The more I want to hurt you." Then, without hesitation, Victoria threw Wave out of the window, leading to Liberty's terrified cry.
"WAVE!"
Liberty started running over to Wave in an instant; and her shout was so loud that everyone on the block could hear it. As she ran to Wave, her crystal started glowing. But she was so focused on saving Wave that she didn't even notice. She jumped out of the window and reached for Wave, failing to notice right away what was happening when her hind paws grabbed onto the edge of the window spot. Luckily, she managed to avoid any glass. When she grabbed Wave, the Dalmatian saw what was happening and found herself in astonishment, and joy for Liberty.
Liberty gave a relieved sigh as she looked at Wave, glad she managed to catch her in time. She then noticed that they were right above the sidewalk, which made her confused about the situation. "Was Humdinger's top floor always this close to the ground?" Wave pointed up, guiding Liberty to her hind legs hanging onto the window from the top floor. She was in complete awe and laughed gleefully at this revelation. "I'm stretchy! That's my power! I'm elastic and fantastic!"
Wave moved up to Liberty's head, holding onto her front paws as she had an idea in mind. "Thanks for the save Libby. I think I know how we can put this new power to good use." Wave started whispering her plan to Liberty, who took a liking to what she heard.
On the top floor, Victoria started losing her temper with her whole body tensing up over Liberty finally getting her power. "Oh, you have got to be kidding me! Is there ANYTHING this street rat WON'T have given to her!?" At that same moment, Wave and Liberty nodded to each other with confident smiles, and Liberty quickly started de-stretching herself. As soon as she did, she used the impact to catapult Wave into the air. As soon as everyone saw the start of the duo's plan, Zuma reacted the fastest, blasting Slash and Victoria in the faces with water.
As Wave continued rising in the air, Everest blasted Slash and Victoria with ice, but they covered their faces just in time. And Slash backflipped out of the way just before Liberty could wrap himself around her. Once Liberty wrapped Victoria into a bind, Slash recovered, sending both Zuma and Everest back as they charged at them. Wave continued to descend, powering up her punch as she did. Just then, Slash took his knife out and charged at Liberty with a-
STAB
Liberty's howl of pain struck Wave in the heart, but she knew she couldn't let that distract her. Instead, she used that to drive herself further towards succeeding in her plan. She continued diving down at Slash, who just freed Victoria as Liberty de-stretched herself again. Zuma and Everest instantly started making an ice pack for her as Slash noticed Wave diving down at him. He readied himself, but Wave's punch overpowered his block, causing him to crash into the floor. Everyone was left astonished when Wave and Slash smashed through the floor.
As soon as she noticed this, Victoria took out a device, ready for the last resort.
Shortly before Wave's epic punch, Snow and Claw were still dealing with Humdinger's Humding-Armor, using Claw's shield to cover themselves from his flamethrower. Snow then thought about how Humdinger was only using a replica of Marshall's fire powers. That got her thinking about how she could send it right back at him. Good thing this was with Claw. "Claw, I have a plan. But I'm gonna need you to trust me."
"I'd rather do that than become a hot dog." Claw quipped, and Snow created a flash grenade and threw it over to Humdinger. It went off, and Snow whispered something to Claw before picking him up. Once the flash vanished, Claw realized the plan as Snow pointed his butt at Humdinger.
Humdinger got ready to fire at Snow and Claw again, leaving Snow to give Claw a quick warning. "Sorry dude. This is gonna hurt."
"Why would it-" Claw started to ask, but as soon as Humdinger shot his fire, Snow kneed Claw in the gut, causing him to blast the fire back with...
PHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHT
...a loud and bassy twenty second fart, making his butt vibrate violently as he blasted Humdinger back with the fire. As much as Claw loved the feeling of his fart, Humdinger was NOT a fan of having his fire blasted back into his face with it. Snow also wasn't particularly fond of the method, but at least they managed to overpower Humdinger's fiery assaults. When the blasting ended, Humdinger's armor was all scorched, and he was so caught off guard by the fart that he couldn't move. After that, Snow took her dagger out and went in. "Now's my chance!"
Snow rushed towards the armor and jumped onto it, pulling Humdinger out of it after cutting his straps. After throwing Humdinger to the ground, Snow gagged from the smell of Claw's noxious fumes. Claw walked over to Snow and Humdinger with a proud smile as Snow commented on the scenario. "Don't worry. I know I have no room to complain. That was a risk I chose to take."
Snow then pointed the dagger at Humdinger, getting rather aggressive as he held him to the ground. This frightened him, and even intrigued Claw when he saw it. "Oh dear! Don't you think this is a bit... much?"
"A 'bit much' would be ramming this into your neck without letting you talk!" Snow told Humdinger, punching him with her free paw before demanding something out of him. "Give me one good reason I shouldn't kill you now. You seemed pretty willing to do so to the citizens of this city."
Humdinger was about to make an excuse, only for the destruction from his building being heard in that moment. Specifically, the impact of Wave's punch on Slash from the top floor. Snow and Claw looked in that direction, and in that moment, Wave could be seen having smashed Slash through the top floor of the building. She landed another punch on him, which sent them through the already cracked second highest floor. Slash did struggle to recover, especially since Wave wasn't letting him. She aimed a stomp on him, which he grabbed just before it landed.
Snow glared back at Humdinger, holding him up by his collar and getting ready to knock him out. "You got lucky!" Snow knocked Humdinger out with a karate chop to the neck, and she then started placing him in handcuffs.
Claw put a paw on Snow's shoulder, knowing that someone had to stay behind and watch Humdinger. "I'll stay here and make sure he doesn't pull a fast one on us."
"Thanks Claw. Just be careful. The fast one might not come from him." Snow advised, rushing off to find Wave, and whoever she was with at that time. Snow couldn't help fearing what could've happened to Wave, or anyone else involved in the mission. 'Wave. If I know your power well enough... just... please be okay.'
To be continued
Suspenseful music started playing as Arrby started talking about what was going to happen with specific moments from the next chapter being shown. "No! They can't have gotten Sid! No! Please, no! No, I can't panic yet! They haven't killed him yet, and I'm not going to let them! Slash, Victoria, Humdinger, you won't get away with this! Darn it! It's times like this I wish I'd gotten a meteorite shard too! If only they never got spread out in the first place. It gave Slash's army that much more power."
Arrby finished the announcement with the words Paw Patrol in all blue with red outlines surrounded with a white border with Wave on the right, and Marshall on the left.
