Chapter 20 Not Ready for a Relationship
Fischl's POV
I had just returned home with my parents, who did not seem happy with me.
"Why didn't you tell us that you had a boyfriend, Amy", my father asked.
"You two were off on your adventure that was quite far from here. Sending a message to you would not have been an easy task. Besides, even If I was able to find a way to message you and inform you of my beloved, is that not something that should be told in person?"
After I said this, my father let out a disappointed sigh.
"Amy, can we please talk", he asked.
"Of course, father", I replied, before sitting down. "What is it that you wish to discuss?"
"Amy", my father started. "Being in a romantic relationship is a very grown-up thing to do. And yet, you are still playing make pretend."
"Your father is right, dear", my mother added. "If you are still playing make believe, then I don't think that you are ready to be in a relationship."
When I heard my parents say this, I suddenly became angry at them. However, I calmed my myself down, took a deep breath, and spoke up.
"I appreciate your concern, Mother and Father", I started. "However, like I said; my beloved and I have been together for quite a few moons now, and our relationship is quite fine just the way it is."
"Amy…", my father started.
"I'm sure that you two are quite tired after returning from such a long trip", I stated, before suddenly standing up. "You should go and take some rest. I too shall return to my chambers."
Before my parents could say anything else, I rushed off to my room. Once I got there, I began angrily pacing back and forth.
"Are you alright, Mein Fräulein", Oz asked in concern.
"I am quite alright, Oz. It's just…it upsets me that mother and father do not think I ready to be in a romantic relationship."
After I said this, I thought back to the conversation Mona and I had earlier.
"It's just…one thing that seems to draw my beloved's attention is that I am a powerful being from another world. I can't help but wonder, if I was just an ordinary girl who masqueraded as such a person, would he still have an interest in me?"
"I think Bennet likes you for more reasons than just you being a powerful being from another world. But, if it is really bothering you, then perhaps you should talk to Bennet about it?"
After I thought about this conversation, I fell onto my bed, and held my pillow close to me.
I want to tell Bennet the truth, but…what if he doesn't like me anymore?
The Next Day
Bennet's POV
I walked into the library, and Lisa walked up to me.
"Hello again, Sweetie", she greeted. "Have you finished the Teyvat Travel Guide already?"
"Not yet", I replied. "I actually came here to get another book."
"Which book is it", Lisa asked.
"What was it again", I asked myself. "I think it was called…Flowers for Princess Fischl?"
"Ah, I see", Lisa started. "You want to read it because of your sweetie?"
"That's right", I replied. "I wanna learn more about Fischl!"
...
I was now outside of the library and was making my way home, but as I was walking, a man suddenly approached me.
"Excuse me", he started. "Bennet, was it?"
"Oh, hi Fischl's dad", I greeted enthusiastically. "What can I do for you?"
"I wanted to talk to you", he replied. "Why don't we have a meal together at Good Hunter?"
