CHAPTER 5 – POWER TEAM

THIRD DISTRICT

After fighting their way to the district's plaza, Mele and Nami finally found the person that was wielding the said keyblade.

It turns out that it was Sora, the boy who had been risking his ass to wipe the great number of the heartless he'd encounter everywhere in the town.

"Hey you!" Mele called him.

"Huh?" Sora turned around to see the girls and Murphy. "The dog… Wait a second… It's that…?"

"So you noticed." Nami said showing her weapon. "You are not the only one who wields the keyblade."

Suddenly, the place went through a tremor and the gates closed the exits, leaving the trio trapped inside.

"We're trapped!" Sora said realizing that there was no way out. "What the hell is going on?!"

A large and armored heartless showed up in front of them with terrifying demeanor to put them to sleep forever.

"It's so big!" Nami was alarmed at the monster's length.

"We have to fight him. Kid, I need you to wear this bracelet!" Mele asked the keyblade wielder as she handed the said item.

"What am I supposed to do with this thing?" Sora was confused at her actions.

"We all have to transform and defeat this monster!" Mele explained the plan to put in motion as soon as possible. "All you have to do is to pull the lever you see right here and say "Kingdom Change!""

The armored heartless tried to crash the party with one of his big hands, which they barely dodged and avoided the damage.

Sora quickly put the bracelet in one of his forearms, he needed to defeat this monster soon and look for his friends.

"Hey, you dumbass! You want to smack us?! Try harder!" Sora raised his voice towards the heartless in a challenging tone. He was daring the monster, much to the girls' surprise.

"That guy…" Nami was astonished by his attitude.

"What is this boy?" Mele couldn't believe what she just witnessed; the boy's aura could tell he could be a reliable person of the team. "You have just demonstrated your courage, kiddo. I'm impressed. May I ask what is it that is pushing you to risk your life like this?"

"Because, I have few missing friends I must find." Sora declared his big reason to fight.

"I see, let's save the talk for later. We have to focus on the monster." Mele suggested to focus on the target in an attack stance lifting her forearm, which the others followed the suite. "Ready?"

"Ready!" Sora and Nami replied before putting the fingers on the lever.

"Kingdom Change!" the three exclaimed in unison while pulling the lever and their bodies went brilliant white for a moment.

In a blink of the eye the three transformed into something that Sora noticed, his hands, his body and feet had changed to what left him stunned.

Sora had his clothes switched with a sort of black suit armor-like costume with red colored pauldron and his gloves were on the same color as well.

And lastly, he noticed he was wearing a helmet like most superhero had to.

Same happened with Mele and Nami, who had the same battle costume with skirts in green and blue respectively.

"What…? Don't tell me that…" Sora said realizing what he had turned himself into.

"You've become a ranger, boy." Nami confirmed him what he had become.

"A-A ranger?!" Sora was surprised at his partner's comment. He didn't think he would become a sort of childhood superhero whatsoever, playing the hero was one thing but becoming himself a one was another story.

"Precisely, now we have transformed into rangers, so let's show this guy who's the boss." Mele replied before indicating the group the next move.

It was then when Sora and the others began pulling out their roll call catchphrase…

"I'm an adventurer who won't stop at nothing." He began the roll call. "KingRed!"

"I shall bring smile to the people who need it most." Seconded Nami. "QueenBlue!"

"I won't show mercy at foes who hurt the innocent." Mele followed last. "QueenGreen!"

"No matter what it takes…" KingRed began the first part of the last verse of their speech.

"No matter how tough our enemies may we encounter…" QueenBlue followed.

"We shall prevail!" QueenGreen said the last part of their speech.

"Fantasy sentai…!" KingRed introduced his newly assembled team.

"KingdomRanger!" the trio ended their introduction speech as a huge explosion was made behind their backs.

The trio summoned their respective keyblades, ready to engage the enemy and take him down. "Let's do this!" KingRed lead his team to the brawl.

The three began engaging the Heartless, for the first time, KingRed felt quite faster than he was before he transformed alongside the girls.

QueenGreen threw her keyblade towards one of the heartless's arm and jumped onto its back and slashed across the monster's head before going back to the ground.

QueenBlue casted water magic against the fire coming out of the heartless who attempted to burn the whole place to the ground.

However, the heartless became mad and tried crash her with a brutal stomp from its foot.

"QueenBlue! Watch out!" QueenGreen shouted out of alarm, she was about to see her get killed when…

"Not if I don't allow that!" KingRed exclaimed going faster and slashing off one of the heartless's limbs.

"Thank you." QueenBlue thanked him.

"You're welcome" KingRed replied with a smile before taunting the dark creature as he pointed his keyblade at him. "Hey, you jackass! How's that?!"

As expected from their foe, the armored heartless rose up again.

"He doesn't want to back down, huh?" QueenGreen acknowledged the monster's tenacity.

"We need a plan to put him down." KingRed said as he thought about figuring out a way to defeat the monster.

Suddenly, their keyblades turned white and a few seconds later, their respective weapons became into one large floating keyblade.

"What is this power?" QueenBlue was curious about it.

"I dunno… but something tells us to defeat the monster once and for all!" KingRed said as he intuited their new power's thoughts.

The monster began running towards the team.

"Here it comes!" QueenGreen called.

"Fantasy Slash!" the rangers shouted in unison moving the combined keyblade and struck the monster down, leading it to make an explosion with the heartless's spirit come out of the dead body.

However, the battle was far from over and the heartless revived and became a giant monster! Leaving KingRed shocked just like other two.

"He became a giant monster!" KingRed was stunned.

"There's only one thing to do in situation like this." QueenGreen said making a call through her bracelet. "Bulk! Skull! We need the zords, now!"

"Alright, Mele. Coming up!" Bulk declared accepting her request.

The help didn't take too long for the said zords to arrive in the battlefield which turned out to be red tiger-like, green chameleon-like and a blue fish-like giant mechas.

"Let's get in! Move!" QueenGreen lead the team inside their respective zords.

As the rangers went inside their respective zords to pilot, these mechas began combining each other until they fused into one big robot ready to fight the giant heartless.

"Combined! Kingdom Megazord!" the trio chanted their combined mecha.

Inside the megazord, KingRed was holding a steering wheel which had button commands to make the mecha move, attack and defend. Not only that, there was a sword button aside, just like the girls who also had the same deck as their partner.

"Let's not slack around. Let's finish this!" KingRed said as they began engaging the enemy.

The Megazord and the giant heartless began brawling around the town making sure that no one was around.

Both of them were moving slower but they both threw brutal punches each other, until one of the heartless's put the Megazord down to the ground.

"Arrrgh! He's a tough foe!" QueenBlue snarled in pain feeling the monster's brutality hit them.

"We can still fight." KingRed said not letting that make them give up easily. "We can be better than that! Kairi and Riku are looking for me… So, we must not falter!"

"That's right. Akared is missing, that's why we must keep going!" QueenGreen agreed with him, they had to finish the monster once and for all.

They summoned the keyblade at its large, giant form and began wielding it to clash with the heartless for a few minutes until they did something that came off their hearts…

"Target in sight!" QueenBlue said as they pointed their weapon and the energy began channeling.

The heartless was severely staggered after taking brutal hits and could not do anything for the time being, which was enough for the rangers to charge the energy at 100 percent.

"Ready!" QueenGreen gave the team the green light to finish the monster.

"Kingdom Blast!" the trio casted the magic to shoot and definitively kill the heartless, which fell and exploded in pieces, which faded away in the dust.

"Yeah!" KingRed yelled in joy alongside the girls.

"We did it!" QueenBlue joined the joy and hugged her partner.

After emerging victorious, Sora, Mele and Nami turned back to normal feeling a big relief of survival.

"I never had experienced a giant battle like this." Nami sighed remembering the fight.

"But we did it, right? We made it out alive." Sora declared showing sense of security.

"I am amazed that you carry nice combat skills." Mele remarked his fighting experience. "I bet it is because you wield the keyblade, I take it?"

"Well… I have been going through many problems that I got used to fighting like this." Sora explained his situation while checking on his keyblade, before getting straight to the point. "Who are you girls? What's going on?"

"My name is Mele."

"Nanami Nono. But you can call me Nami."

"My name is Sora."

"You see… we had been looking for you for a long time since we arrived here." Mele said telling him the situation.

"So, you were looking for me?" Sora was astonished by her straight statement.

"Of course, Sora." Nami answered nodding her head. "We were."

Leon and Yuffie made a surprise appearance in front of the trio. "They, too, have been seeking the wielder of the keyblade." He pointed out while she nodded.

"Leon! We meet again at last." Nami said in a cheerful tone. "How about you join us? We can go to other worlds on our vessel."

"I wonder if I could find Riku and Kairi…" Sora expressed his concern about his friends' whereabouts.

"We'll help." Mele proposed him, leaving her partner and the boy astonished.

"Mele, are you sure you want to take him with us?" Nami asked her.

"Yes." Mele assumed her. "I feel like we are going to need his help to find Akared… and so maybe he will find his friends while we are it. Sounds fair, right, Sora?" she turned to the boy asking for his opinion.

It was a difficult decision whether he should or not join the girls and meet the new worlds. If he had to look for Riku and Kairi on his own, he would.

"Sora, go with them." Leon said giving him crystal clear answer. "Especially if you want to find your friends."

"Yeah, I guess…" Sora was not that excited at what he had to do from now on. He was really worried about his most important people.

"Hey…" Nami walked closer to him to cheer him up placing one hand at his cheek. "We will find them somehow. A true leader doesn't back down, Sora. You have to be positive. You know?"

These words made Sora's mood change and express his initiative to start his journey with them, even thou he fought the blush he was feeling cause of Nami's sweet voice.

No, he had to focus on his mission, his number one priority: Find Riku and Kairi and return home.

"Okay, why not? I'll go with you, girls." Sora said with determination.

"All right. Then it's decided." Mele put out her hand and get joined by the others. "All for one! One for all!"

This was the moment when the three joined forces to embark in this trilling, dangerous, and exciting adventure of their lives with many events that were about to be unfolded…

Meanwhile, a group of villains were watching in frustration and anger the way the rangers defeated the monster.

"That little fucker killed that Heartless!" one of the male villains punched the table out of annoyance glaring at Sora and his company. "Who'd have thought it?"

"Such is the power of the keyblade." Seconded another male villain with such elegancy." The kid's strength is not his own."

"Why don't we turn him into a heartess?" a female with such a femme fatale vibe came out with a suggestion. "That'll settle things quick enough."

"And the brat's friends are the Akared's lackeys." Another male villain bashed at rangers as well, having very bad opinions like any antagonist. "Look at them… they are just a bunch of morons playing the hero."

"You are not prize yourself." Said another female villain voice, making fun of the man. "That's why no one would want to hang out with you, jerkass."

"Shut up!" the said man snarled and was about to argue with her when…

"Enough!" One female villain voice, whose figure turned out to be someone with two-pointed hair cones, Madonna-like cone bra and was wielding a scepter. "The keyblade has chosen him. Will be he who conquers the darkness? Or… will the darkness completely swallow him? Either way… he could be quite useful…" She ended her sentence with a creepy evil smile. What kind of plan she had for our heroes? Nobody knows. For now.

TRAVERSE TOWN

Back to the town, Sora was seen warming up for his incoming journey with his new found partners. He had the mission in mind and he could not bring himself to screw it up while he carried out his search on his friends Riku and Kairi.

"Make sure you're prepared for the journey ahead of you." Leon said upon seeing him warm up. "We don't know how far the heartless have spread."

"Check out the shops here." Yuffie suggested the place he and his team should head to sometime. "They've got some pretty neat stuff!"

"This is from all of us." Aerith handed him a sort of cash.

[Sora obtained 500 munny]

"Wait, I cannot accept this." Sora wanted to refuse their money, it wasn't something that he could get gratuitously, he knew very well he had to work and earn money honestly. Not any kind of money that wasn't his.

"You never know when you're gonna need to purchase a first aid kit when you or your friends get hurt." Yuffie persuaded him to accept the money he was being offered.

"Fine, you win." Sora gave in and accepted their money.

"Spend it as you see fit." Aerith advised to invert his cash wisely.

"Good luck, Sora." Yuffie wished him for his safety and the girls'.

"I hope you find your friends." Aerith seconded giving him support for his journey.

"Look out for each other." Leon gave him encouraging farewell words. "Keep your spirits up.

"I will, thanks guys." Sora thanked them before heading where the rangers were waiting for him.

The boy reunited with Mele and Nami, who were waiting for him at the entrance. "What's up, Sora? Are you ready?" Nami greeted him with a gleeful smile.

"Yes, I'm ready to travel." Sora said showing his excitement.

"The Sentai ship is outside that gate." Mele indicated.

"The what?" Sora didn't catch on what she had said. "Care to repeat what'd you say?"

"That's our ship, Sora." Nami clarified him. "Wait until you see it."

"Hold on, Sora…" Mele stopped the party. "I see you were getting warmed up, weren't you?"

"Yes. What about it?" Sora asked curiously.

"I know you can showcase your physical combat skills such mixed martial arts or even swordfight, however, you're gonna need to use magic for very important situations." Mele explained. "In other words, there's a training you should undergo so you will probably master the ninja skills."

"Ninja skills… Martial Arts… That sounds like a challenge." Sora knew what he was getting into, if he was to be a ninja assassin, not killing any human being or course, but the monster slayer, so be it.

"So… what do you say?" Mele was waiting for his answer.

"All right, Mele, you're on."

"I see you're in high spirits, I like that. Very well." Mele declared putting herself in attacking stance. "Let's have a sparring match."

Sora and Mele began the sparring training as they showcased their respective martial arts, thou she had slightly more experience in this than Sora, nonetheless, Mele was holding back as not to hurt him badly but help him to improve his fighting skills, and neither Sora was willing to hurt her.

"You're good at that! Every time I am about to land a hit on you, you seem capable to counter each attack I make." Mele pointed his good fighting skills. "Now I shall teach you the chameleon power so pay attention.

Mele channeled her magic through her joined hands and as expected, she became invisible leaving Sora eyebrowed trying to guess where she was and reappeared right aside of him.

"How did you do that?!" Sora was amused by her technique.

"You must focus on your heart joining your hands like any ninja would do, try it." Mele indicated him, even thou it was easy to say than do it.

Sora found it quite hard to believe but he couldn't back down now as he was far more motivated to get this done. Nami and Mele were watching him expectantly, he could not screw this up.

Sora focused on his heart, his keyblade as he joined his arms and tried to channel his magic while calming himself down as to avoid the stress taking over.

Suddenly, his body began getting invisible surprising the duo, and satisfying the chameleon ranger.

"Whoa! My whole body is invisible!" Sora said watching his transparent shape in amusement. He never had thought that he would succeed in the first try, was it because of luck, or maybe because of his keyblade's power.

"Sora… Well done!" Mele became wondered by his remarkable performance, it was a rough training but it was a well pay off. "You learn faster than we thought."

[Sora attained the power of stealth]

[Sora obtained the cloak magic skill]

"Really?" Sora became blushed by her gleeful gaze right after he became visible again.

"Yes! You showed us what are you capable of." Mele reaffirmed her opinion towards his performance. "Anyways, shall we all get going?"

"Let's go." Sora accepted her request and finally went through the door.

As soon as they crossed and shut the door behind, Sora came to meet his gaze at the said ship the girls had told him about. "Wow…! It's big!"

"Bigger enough to make us comfortable traveling everywhere, huh?" Mele said expressing in a sassy voice tone. "Anyway, let's get in."

Once they stepped inside the ship, the boy came to notice Wagon, who was surprised by his presence.

"Wait! Who are you?!" Sora asked in the same feeling.

"She's Wagon, she will be joining us the time we travel." Nami introduced her.

"Nice to meet you." The purple ranger greeted him in a cheerful voice. "You must be Sora, right?"

"Yes, it's me."

"Something told me you were the person we were looking for. And I wasn't wrong at all." Wagon commented feeling she was right. "I will be writing the chronicles of your adventure that we are about to go through.

"I see you're a journalist, huh? That would be cool, Wagon." Sora was excited for her aspirations.

"Why thank you. Anyway, let's head to the Sentai Castle, we may discuss on the move we have to make."

Everyone nodded and they left Traverse Town for the said location which would become their headquarters.

SENTAI CASTLE

After a longtime fly, the team finally arrived in the castle and stepped out of the ship.

"No freakin way…" Sora was amazed by the castle's beautiful aspect, there were clean grass, few fountains and most important thing, the castle had a medieval look with few flags hanging at the rooftops. "Is this the Sentai Castle, Nami?"

"Yes." Nami confirmed his question. "We are here, let's go in."

Sora nodded with his head and everyone headed inside the castle, it was at this moment that the time they crossed the door, would become the starting point of his arc to find his friends and many more.

A/N:

Thank you for reaching the end of the chapter, it has costed me a lot to write this considering the difficulty of writing and adapting the first game's plot with most of the Disney stuff removed and replaced with Super Sentai portion.

I wanna say that I was thinking about the rangers' battle suit and their finishing move, I decided to take some of Kingdom Hearts series' references such as Birth by Sleep's Keyblade Armor design and the combined keyblade moveset respectively.

And finally, I decided to combine few of Power Rangers' elements with its Japanese counterpart such the megazord stuff to make things easier but it doesn't mean there's gonna be an American counterpart's season adaptation, course not. It will be a Kingdom Hearts crossover with the Super Sentai franchise as it's been said earlier.

I shall reveal what seasons I will be willing to adapt at my own pace in the next chapter, see you later.
