Daryl stared down at the postive pregnancy test and felt tears well up. They'd been trying for so damn long. Too damn long.
Daryl took a deep breath as he decided on how to tell him. He knew Shane would appreciate being told right away but he wanted to make it special. Needed to after the amount of time they'd been trying. There had been so much disappointment and so many attempts. He was so happy, he was overwhelmed with emotions. He stood up quickly and made his way towards the front door.
Shane was at work and he had a few hours to figure it out. He headed to the front door and climbed on his bike, he knew he wouldn't be able to ride it for much longer. Once Shane knew he was pregnant he wouldn't allow him on his bike without supervision.
He arrived at the local supermarket and picked up a few things for his surprise. He picked up some supplies to make them dinner and a few special things to surprise Shane. He picked up a gift bag as well before heading to the check out. "Afternoon 'mega." The clerk smiled as they checked them out. "Got a little one at home?" The man asked eyeing a few of the purchases.
"No, not yet." Daryl replied as he took his bags.
The man smiled as he nodded Daryl off, the omega made his way back to his bike quickly securing the items into the motorcycle backpack and headed back home. He was quick to begin dinner. He cooked spaghetti and warmed the sauce. He finished up chicken and smiled as he set up the plates. He poured water in their glasses and then finished the gift for Shane. He set it aside and sat by the door waiting for Shane to come home.
"You made dinner honey?"
"I did." Daryl smiled as he gave Shane a welcome home kiss. Their lips met once again before Daryl helped Shane to the table, not that he needed help but Daryl wanted to make sure his Alpha got the best. He was lucky when they met, and he was even luckier that this little pup was going to have an amazing father.
"This is lovely honey," Daryl smiled at the praise.
"Thank you alpha."
"Well honey, what is this all about? Usually you don't make dinner, even when we do it isn't this extravagant."
"I made spaghetti."
"Exactly."
"That isn't exactly fancy alpha." Daryl muttered sipping his water.
"It's still more than what you usually do honey, I know you can cook but it's usually the kind you put in the oven and wait till it's done. You haven't made a home cooked meal in a while."
"Sorry.. alpha."
"Daryl I'm not upset with you, really honey. Thank you for making it."
"Yeah.. uhm alpha I have a gift for you." Daryl smiled handing him the gift box. Shane eyed him for a moment as he adjusted his 22 necklace over his chest.
"You have a gift for for me? Did I forget an anniversary?"
"No alpha." Daryl replied with a laugh. "Just look at it."
Shane smiled as he opened the bag. He froze as he pulled out a teddy bear and rattle. "Daryl are you?" His eye watered thinking hard about their future together. "Daryl oh my god."
Daryl was about ready to cry, he was so excited to bring Shane's puppy into this world. Their puppy. "Alpha there is more in there." Daryl smirked as he watched his alpha. "Go on."
Shane smiled as he pulled out a shirt.
Best Daddy Ever.
Shane started balling like a baby. "Oh honey, I can't believe it. We've been trying for years." Daryl nodded, Shane stood up and held him tightly. "Oh my god Daryl."
"Ours alpha.. we finally did it. We've been trying so hard.. so hard."
"I know pretty thing, I know honey." Shane whispered kissing his forehead. "We are going to care for this little puppy with everything we are. I'll pick up extra shifts at work if I have to."
"You work so much now alpha, I know you're going to be a great dad. I know you will."
"I promise Daryl to love you and our puppy. Forever. I will always protect you, always protect our puppy."
Daryl held him tight as they sobbed into one another so thankful they finally managed to conceive. They'd been trying for years now, Daryl thought he was broken. Honestly thought he couldn't have a pup like all the other omegas. He was so thankful, honestly thankful.
Shane scooped Daryl up in his arms and carried him off to the bathroom. "Now we are going to get my 'mega and little one a nice hot bath." Daryl blushed as Shane gave him a soft kiss. "I love you."
"I love you too." Daryl smiled big as Shane started up the bath. He loved his Daryl and was more than excited to be a father. It was his dream and he couldn't believe it was finally happening.
