Once Ashley and Jay arrived at the prison where Ashley's father was being held, they left Antonio and Ruzek in the car to wait for them to gather information about Xavier. 'Are you certain that David will honor his word?' Jay asked as he followed Ashley through the prison gates, where Millie was waiting.
'I cannot be certain, but if he doesn't, he will not be released,' Ashley replied as she greeted Millie. Millie nodded and guided them into the prison, leading them towards the visitor room where David was waiting.
Ashley and Jay followed Millie, with Ashley adjusting the earpiece in her ear that Mouse had provided so Antonio and Ruzek could hear their conversation with David.
She observed as Jay engaged in conversation with Millie about various matters. After a few minutes, Millie stopped at the door to the meeting room and opened it. 'I will be outside the door if you require any assistance,' Millie stated before closing the door behind Ashley and Jay. 'Thank you, Millie,' Jay expressed his gratitude as the woman shut the door.
"So, may I inquire if you are present here for the proposed agreement?" David inquired, as Ashley and Jay approached the table where he was positioned, with his hands restrained and secured to the surface.
Ashley and Jay were seated across from David, and they exchanged a meaningful look. "We are here for the deal," Ashley stated, leaning towards her father with a stern expression. "But first, tell us where Xavier lives," she added, her eyes fixed on him.
"And we demand the actual address, not a fabricated one," Jay interjected, resting his elbow on the table. "Alright, let's not rush things," David responded, turning his attention to his daughter. "However, I will only share the information if I get to speak with Ashley alone," he proposed.
Meanwhile, Antonio's voice came through Ashley and Jay's earpiece, instructing them not to leave the room. Jay glanced at Ashley and then back at David. He knew he should follow his friend's advice, but he also realized that without obtaining the critical information, the case would remain unresolved. "I'll step out for just five minutes, so you better provide Ash with the details we need," he insisted.
With a smirk on his face, David looked at the young detective. "You have my word, Detective," he assured. Ashley exchanged glances with Jay, who gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder.
Once Jay exited the room, Ashley turned back to David, who met her gaze. "Now that we are alone, may I inquire about your confidence in Voight's reliability?" David questioned.
Ashley glanced at him and heaved a sigh. "Voight has always upheld his word. Now cease your delaying tactics and divulge the information we require if you wish to be freed," she asserted.
"Very well, then." David acquiesced. "However, I will require writing materials and my hands to be uncuffed, in order to jot it down." David made this request while observing his restrained hands.
"Ashley, do not dare!" Antonio's voice came through the earpiece, but Ashley chose to ignore him, recognizing the significance of obtaining the address.
Ashley produced the key for the handcuffs, which had been given to her by Millie, and proceeded to unlock one of David's hands. "Now, write it down!" she commanded, handing him a sheet of paper and a pen.
David accepted the writing materials and diligently recorded the desired information. "Here you go," he conveyed, pushing the paper towards Ashley. "Before you depart, could you kindly inform me of the expected time for my release?" he inquired.
Ashley seized the paper from David's grasp and stood upright, but her father quickly caught hold of her hand and forcibly pulled her back down to his level. 'If you or your companions deceive me and fail to keep your promises, I will not be pleased, and as you are aware, consequences will follow when you defy me,' he warned.
Ashley managed to break free from his grip just as Jay entered the room. Unaware of David's threat towards Ashley, Jay inquired, 'Did you acquire the address?' 'Yes, let us depart this place,' Ashley responded.
They exited the room, Ashley leading the way with Jay closely trailing behind. David, wearing a smirk on his face, glanced at Jay and declared, 'We shall meet again once I am released.' Ashley took a deep breath as she examined the address, and then affirmed, 'Very well, let us proceed to inform the others and make preparations to retrieve Xavier.' With those words, Ashley and Jay departed from the prison.
'Feel free to contact me sometime,' Millie remarked to Jay as they made their way out. Jay couldn't help but smile. 'I certainly will,' he replied with a nod, following Ashley out of the prison.
Upon reaching the car, Ashley couldn't resist teasing Jay. She asked with a grin on her face, particularly after seeing the expression he gave her, 'So, are you going on a hot date?' She asked Jay, as he opened the car door and entered with Antonio and Ruzek already waiting, replied, 'I have no idea what you're referring to.' Ashley, joining them in the car, retorted, 'Oh, I certainly do.'
'I say go for it,' Ashley added with a grin, catching the attention of the other two. Curiously, Ruzek asked, 'What are you two talking about?'
Ashley, still grinning, disclosed, 'Well, Mr. Halstead had a small date with Millie.' Jay, playfully slapping Ashley on the shoulder, clarified, 'Not officially, at least not yet.'
Antonio, clearly not in the mood for small talk, interjected, 'Anyway, do you have what we needed or not?' The raven-haired man gave Ashley a meaningful look, to which she simply nodded. 'Alright then, let's head back to headquarters,' Ashley announced.
Once everyone was comfortably seated, Ruzek began driving them back to the district, while Jay texted Voight to inform him that they had acquired what they needed.
