Hello everyone! And … well… this will be fun! Because I'm attempting to do a different kind of Yu-Gi-Oh story then what I've done before!

For context, this is a story kinda similar to CaioCoia's "Why am I Syrus?" but I will explain more in the author's note below.

Additionally, I have a request to all readers in the author's notes so check that out if you can!

But for now? Enjoy!

Yu-Gi-Oh GX – Joker's Wild

Chapter 1

Throw in the Wild Card

To say he was worried would be an understatement. Professor Satyr watched as everyone left the duel arena… except for the young man who was laying on the ground.

Satyr truly believed that out of all the dorms, his was the most consistent to what the goal was. The Ra Yellows were built of individuals who had the potential to rise like the Winged Dragon of Ra if they put their mind to it. However, usually they are seen as the 'Rejects'. Damn Crowler for not keeping his Blues in check.

Walking up to the arena, Satyr would look and see that his student's eyes were cloudy… almost like they were dissociating or stuck in a memory. Trapped in their own head as Satyr would hurry to move closer. After reaching him, Satyr would try to shake the boy awake. "Mr. Kagurazaka… Mr. Kagurazaka! …Dimitri!"

The boy would gasp awake for a moment as he looked at his hand for a moment and then turned to the Professor. "…Professor Satyr?" He would have a look of uncertainty as he looked around. "I lost, didn't I?"

"…You did. But that's not important." Satyr focused on his student who seemed to be out of it. "Are you okay?"

"…I'm fine. I think…" Dimitri would be sitting there silently for a moment before he would speak up. "Professor… what am I missing?" Satyr would be stunned by the question as Dimitri continued. "I tried to play just like the winners I looked up to. I styled my hair like Yugi Moto… made decks based on the Battle City duelists… and I even tried to get in character. But I can never win like they did. So why?"

Satyr would smile kindly at Dimitri as he placed a hand on the boy's shoulder. "Because they were themselves." Dimitri would look up at Professor Satyr as the man continued. "You don't need to be someone else. To truly excel in dueling, you need to be Dimitri. Not Yugi Moto… not Joey Wheeler… not Seto Kaiba… but Dimitri Kagurazaka."

Dimitri would take those words for a moment before he slowly picked himself off the ground. "…I need to think about this."

After saying that, the boy would slowly start to leave the arena as Satyr would sigh. "…He'll figure it out. I know it."

In truth, the boy needed to leave for a completely different reason. Entering the Ra Yellow dorm, he would slowly look at the doors before entering his dorm room and flopped onto his bed. After a bit of silence, Dimitri would blink and take a deep breath. "What happened? How am I in the world of Yu-Gi-Oh?"

Yes, the reason why Dimitri was out of it earlier was that he was being hit with the traditional Isekai story aspect of remembering a different life? Past life? It was confusing and it left Dimitri so befuddled.

He didn't remember anything about who he was or what the world was like. Instead, he remembered all the Yu-Gi-Oh stuff… the cards, the anime, the manga, etc. And somehow, he was sent into the world of GX as a one-off character in the first season.

Dimitri Kagurazaka- wait. His last name is what his Japanese name is… … questions for later. Anyways, Dimitri was a character who never really had a niche in the show or games except copying other duelists. And due to the obligatory heart of the cards and "You must believe in your own deck" spiel, Dimitri would lose against Jaden after stealing the deck of Yugi Moto.

…Okay, now he's starting to realize why Dimitri disappeared. He was probably expelled for theft. That or Dimitri couldn't remember every part of how the anime worked… Still, it's kind of ironic how the modern day meta usually has people running the same decks for victory but in the world of Duel Monsters, that ain't the case.

Still, Dimitri would look at his deck and groan. It was a poor attempt to copy Joey Wheeler's deck and it showed. A lot of the cards were just the low-level cards and no real synergy. "At least the dice cards are there… hmmmm…"

Dimitri stopped as his mind started to think about the cards he had. He had no real way to make a 'super serious deck'… but then again, did he even want to? Sure, he could try and join the main characters and their adventures but that would leave him being a character like Syrus… a sidekick to the main protagonist.

"…Fuck that." Dimitri would walk up to his room's mirror and look at himself. He had his appearance which he had in the show with Yugi Moto's deck. He would think to all the characters from the different anime seasons and land on an energy green-haired boy. One who would smile to the crowd and shout "The fun has just begun!". "…Yeah. I'm gonna take a page out of your book Yuya." Arc-V was a weird show with dimensional wars and shit… made Dimitri laugh but still, Yuya was a cool character. Wanting to duel for the entertainment.

Why couldn't he do that? If he didn't have a specific deck, why not make the most bizarre and crazy decks around? If Jaden was going to be the ace in the hole for Duel Academy, then Dimitri was going to be the Joker! The wild card who no one can predict!

He can't remember his old name nor is he the old Dimitri! He's a brand-new Dimitri ready to face the world! Grabbing his duel disk and his PDA as he looked at what he had. He was off to the duel shop after all!

DIMITRI KAGURAZAKA- RA YELLOW

CURRENT DP: 53

…Yeesh. Way to take the wind from under his sails…

From what he could remember, most booster packs costed a hundred and fifty DP. Plus the need for food means that Dimitri didn't have a way to gather cards. There wasn't any way to-

The boy would gasp as he remembered one location. "The Reject Well!" Truthfully, Dimitri doesn't know why it was called that or why people threw out cards there. But it was perfect!

Throwing on his greenish scarf (because he thought it was cool), he would leave his dorm room with his duel disk and his cards. On the way out, he would pass by Professor Satyr. As he did, he wouldn't notice the small smile Satyr had for Dimitri. Once Dimitri had left the Ra Yellow dorm, Satyr would chuckle a bit as he thought about the burning flame within the boy's eyes. "Well that was quicker then I expected, but it seems everything is going to be alright…"

As Dimitri was walking around the campus to find the well, he was glancing through the cards he already owned and gave a bit of a whistle. "Okay… there's some things I can work with." Grabbing another card, he would blink in confusion. "Lindbloom- That's a Wyrm Type card… They didn't appear until 2014…" Scanning his cards again, he would blink. "There's more cards that shouldn't be around." That… was a mystery he was going to have to deal with later.

Returning back to scanning through his cards, he then stopped as he looked at one card. "…THE FUCK!?" In his hands was a copy of a powerful card as he blinked. "This card is pretty much a screen nuke- Oooooo… this is giving me ideas."

However, he then stopped as he caught something in the corner of his eye. "There it is!" He would walk closer and glance down the well, seeing the ladder, he would take a sigh of relief. "At least I'm not going to break my ankles…" Placing his cards away, he would start to descend down the well until he reached the bottom. But once he did, he would turn around and see a large tiger spirit growling at him.

"WHOA!" Dimitri would fall to his ground as he looked at the tiger in shock and confusion. "…Soul Tiger?" The tiger would continue to glare and growl as more spirits started to appear. Dimitri stared in shock and slight worry. "…Duel Spirits are real. Cool. …Uhhhh hi?"

"Oh knock it off you all." Dimitri would see a green-skinned fairy with blue hair, a yellow dress, and angel like wings. Spirit of the Breeze. She would turn to Dimitri with a sigh. "Sorry… they get aggressive when someone comes by to leave behind cards. So… please hurry up." The way she spoke was with disappointment as she shook her head.

Dimitri would blink for a moment. "Wait what? No. I didn't come to leave cards behind. I came to possibly get some new cards for my decks."

Once he said that, all the spirits gained a look of shock and confusion as Spirit of the Breeze crossed her arms and raised a brow with her closed eyes. "You do know people call this the Reject Well, right?"

"Don't call it that." Dimitri would pick himself up and dust himself off as he looked at the spirits with a determined. "I know more than anyone how it feels to be a reject… and I accept that title with honour! Because reject doesn't mean failure! It means following your own path different from the rest! Every card has it's use… it's just finding the right combination!" Taking a deep breath, Dimitri would look at the cards proudly. "My name is Dimitri Kagurazaka! And my dream is to become the world's first real Dueltainer! An entertainer who duels for pure enjoyment and spectacle! With the craziest decks anyone has ever seen! And I am asking if you are willing to join me!"

"R-Really? And you'll accept all of us?" A small weird yellow looking spirit with red undies appeared next to a black and green spirit with similar appearance.

"Yeah!" Suddenly, a red and blue spirit of similar appearance appeared out of nowhere as the red one pointed at Dimitri. "Most of you duelist goons take once glance at us and call us ugly and useless! Would you even use us in a deck?"

Dimitri would blink in shock as he looked at the spirits. He knew Ojama Black and Green were down here… but Yellow was supposed to be in the mountains of North Academy… and Ojama Red and Blue weren't even supposed to exist yet.

However, his eyes would widen as he realized the assortment of cards he had and gained a big grin. "THAT'S IT!" The spirits looked at him confusion as Dimitri would smirk. "Sorry, just came to a conclusion that I was looking for. To answer your question… Yes, I would use you in a deck. In fact? You might just the perfect key to the first of many decks!"

The Ojamas would look in shock for a moment as Ojama Green spoke up. "For real!?" As Dimitri nodded, Green would gain a similar smirk to Dimitri's as he shouted out loud. "…Then count me in!"

One after another, the spirits would start to come towards Dimitri. Perhaps it would take time for each one of them to be used, but… this was only the beginning of a brand-new revolution. A revolution of pure excitement and joy.

All the while, Spirit of the Breeze would watch for a moment as she felt the energy within the air. However, once she sensed before her eyes widened. She'd then whisper to herself. "…Two Ba? …Things are going to be rather interesting it seems."

As Dimitri was walking back to his dorm, he wondered if he changed the story too much. After all, Chazz was the one who gave those cards a new home and they helped him with his duel against Slade.

…Then again, he used them once and then went right back to his armoured dragons. It's particularly why he was so annoyed at the moment. These cards had spent forever trapped at the bottom of that well and instead of using them, he stuck to the same shit as before!

Like, who the hell threw out these cards!? With the right combo, they're a danger! There was Relinquished down there! FUCKING RELINQUISHED! One of the aces of Pegasus for Ra's sake!

However, he would be pulled out of his thoughts as he felt a comforting hand on his shoulder. Turning, he would see Spirit of the Breeze looking at him with some worry. "Are… you okay? Are you regretting your choice?"

"Wha- Oh no. That's not why I'm angry." Dimitri would reassure Spirit of the Breeze as he gained a ticked expression. "I'm just angrier at the thought of people just… tossing so many amazing cards away for no reason! Like you for example! You have an awesome life gain effect and people call you trash!? How brain dead are they!?"

Spirit of the Breeze would blink for a moment before she giggled with a slight blush. "My… aren't you a charmer." Dimitri would stop his ranting as he turned to the happy Spirit. "It's nice to know that our new Ba is such a caring soul."

"Well… thanks- wait what? Ba?" Dimitri would scratch his head sheepishly before turning to Spirit of the Breeze. "What's that?"

Spirit of the Breeze only giggled and would move her head in a winking motion… even though she never seemed to open her eyes. She just acted like she winked. "That's a secret for now. We'll tell you later."

Dimitri would just sigh before shaking his head with a fond smile. "I'll keep you to that promise." He would then put his hands in his pockets with the smile staying on his face. He had a duel coming up… and he was going to show this academy the new and improve Dimitri!

The few days later, there was a small crowd forming in the duel arena as Professor Vellian Crowler stood there with a grin. In the stand with him was Professor Midori Hibiki, Chancellor Sheppard, and of course, Professor Satyr.

"Ah, another glorious day to see how well my students progressed! Though, sadly, they won't shine much due to facing… Dimitri." The man withheld himself from bursting into laughter as Professor Midori gave him a stink eye. However, Crowler was then cut off by Professor Satyr chuckling.

"Well you are right Doctor Crowler… Dimitri is unfortunate going to steal the show from your student with his victory." Satyr sat there with a grin. The other professors were confused as they watched the arena… only to see Dimitri wasn't dressed up or anything. "After all, Dimitri's not the same as he was before."

In a part of the arena, there would be an intelligent Ra Yellow who was actually joined by three beautiful Obelisk blue girls. This was none other than Bastion Misawa and the trio of Alexis Rhodes, Mindy Hamaguchi, and Jasmine Makurada.

Out of all of them, Bastion was the one who looked at the duel rather seriously. Next to him, Alexis would raise a brow. "Is something up Bastion?"

"…Dimitri may pull victory here." The three girls turned to the Ra Yellow. In duel academy, people knew Dimitri was not a strong duelist but was still smart. To say he was going to win against an Obelisk Blue? That's confident.

Mindy would tilt her head. "Really?" She would then turn to the field as she blinked. "…Wow! He seems much more confident."

"Huh. You're right. It's like he's completely different." Jasmine said this as she tilted her head in confusion at the change within the boy.

As the three girls looked towards the Ra Yellow copycat, Bastion nodded. "Indeed. After his previous loss, Dimitri seemed to change. When I asked him, he said that he was tired of playing a character and that he would, and I quote, 'be the one to take center stage'."

Alexis blinked as she turned her head towards the smiling Ra Yellow on the stage for a moment before she smiled herself. "Well, let's see what he can do then?"

Across from Dimitri, he saw that his first real duel was against one of Chazz's lackeys, Taiyou Torimaki. The Obelisk blue was smirking as he shuffled his deck. "So. Which character am I going to be facing today."

Dimitri wouldn't respond as he shuffled his deck and smiled at it. "…None." He spoke loudly and confidently. "Today, you'll be the first duelist I will face with my new and improved dream. So, you'll be facing me going full force!"

"Tsk. Whatever you Ra Reject." Taiyou would place his deck in his duel disk and stand in position as Dimitri matched him. "Get ready for another beatdown like the reject you are."

"Heh. I accept the title of reject with pride! Because I'm going to duel and win in my own unique way!" Dimitri would place his hand on his deck as he held a grin. "It's SHOW TIME!"

The two boys would draw their cards and look at one another, both determined to win.

"DUEL!" "DUEL!"

Dimitri: 4000
Taiyou: 4000

The large screen in the duel arena would show a wheel that spun between Dimitri and Taiyou. After a moment, it would land on Dimitri who nodded with a grin. "Let's get this show on the road!" Looking at his hand, Dimitri would smile as he nodded.

"Well, I'll begin by setting three cards face-down and I will summon Soul Tiger in defence mode!" On Dimitri's side of the field, three cards appeared on his side of the field while in front of him formed a massive blue tiger made of blazing souls. Appearing on the field, he would let out a mighty roar before getting into a pose like he's about to pounce.

Soul Tiger
Normal Monster – Level 4 – EARTH – Beast
0 Attack / 2100 Defence
The soul of a tiger that is said to devour human souls. He is a famous soul that you wouldn't want to run into in a dark alley.

Dimitri would nod as he looked at his hand. Yeah, he just needed one card and then he's good. But for now, he was protected. "With that, I end my turn."

Taiyou would raise a brow but nodded. "All that talk, and you start with a defensive move? You really are a reject." Looking at cards, he smirked. "Let me show you how to really start a turn! I summon Lord of D. in attack mode!" Appearing face up on the field was a spellcaster in draconic armour. He would grunt as he landed on the field.

Lord Of D.
Effect Monster – Level 4 – DARK – Spellcaster
1200 Attack / 1100 Defence
Neither player can target Dragon monsters on the field with card effects.

"However, we all know the true strength of Lord of D. is with his signature card… The Flute of Summoning Dragon!" A large draconic horn appeared in the spellcaster's hands as he let out a mighty blow. "With it, I can summon up to two dragon type monsters from my hand for free! So come forth… Luster Dragon #2 and Curse of Dragon!"

As the horn blew throughout the arena, two roars could be heard as a massive emerald dragon and an evil yellow dragon appeared from the sky. Two rare dragons ready to rain down havoc onto Dimitri.

The Flute of Summoning Dragon

2000 Attack / 1500 Defence
A wicked dragon that taps into dark forces to execute a powerful attack.

Taiyou was going to say something else when he suddenly placed his hands on his ears due to a massive roar coming from Dimitri's side of the field. One could see a massive beastly aura behind Soul Tiger as Dimitri scratched his ear. "Oh, sorry. Continue."

The Obelisk would give a glare in response. "Okay, what the hell was that!?"

"Oh. That was Threatening Roar." Dimitri showed the trap card he had played. "See, I know that due to Lord of D., I can't target your dragons with effects. So I chose to target you instead. Because this card makes it so my opponent cannot declare an attack this turn."

Threatening Roar
Normal Trap
Your opponent cannot declare an attack this turn.

Taiyou would glare at the Ra Yellow before sighing. "Fine. I'll end my turn. Your turn Ra Reject."

Dimitri would grin and smile as he bowed. "Why thank you!" Looking at his hand, he grinned. "My my! A fan favourite that I won't have to explain… it's Pot of Greed!" Dimitri would play a card as a familiar green pot appeared on the field. Once it disappeared, Dimitri drew two cards.

Pot of Greed
Normal Spell
[WHAT DOES IT DO!?] Draw 2 cards.

"Next, I'll need to get rid of your pesky Lord of D. with Tributed to the Doomed!" A sarcophagus appeared as a mummy opened the casket and wrapped Lord of D. in bandages, pulling him inwards. "By discarding one card, I can target and destroy one monster on the field." However, Dimitri would smirk as he discarded his card.

Once he did and the sarcophagus closed on Lord of D., it would then spin around revealing three baskets on the field. "Oh! I seemed to have forgotten the second part of the act! The classic magic of the one and only…" Dimitri would tap his fingers as a drum roll seemed to appear out of nowhere… until a familiar three beasts, one yellow, one black and one green, appeared. "Ojamas! Whenever Ojamagic is sent from my hand or the field to the graveyard, Ojamas Yellow, Green, and Black are added from the deck to my hand! Dance to your heart's content guys"

The three Ojamas would do a little dance as the crowd chuckled a bit but enjoyed the high energy. Dimitri was smiling and clapping his hands as the three Ojamas continued to dance before they backflipped and disappeared. Once they disappeared, Dimitri would reveal the three cards now being added to his hand.

Tribute to the Doomed

Ojamagic
Normal Spell

"That was fun, wasn't it?" Dimitri would grin as tapped his chin. "Well, time to wrap up this turn with a lovely assistant, shall we? I summon in attack mode… Spirit of the Breeze!"

As he said that, the green skinned fairy appeared as she extended out her angel like wings. Her eyes were still closed as she smiled. "My. What a treat it is to be summoned in attack mode." She then turned to Dimitri with a coy smile. "And… lovely assistant?"

"Hey. I say it as it is." Dimitri would say that with a wink before grinning and turning to Taiyou. "With that, I end my turn."

Spirit of the Breeze
Effect Monster – Level 3 – WIND – Fairy
0 Attack / 1800 Defence
As long as this card remains in face-up Attack Position on your side of the field, increase your Life Points by 1000 points during each of your Standby Phases.

Taiyou would scoff. "Seriously? You're just asking for damage." Looking at his hand, he nodded as he placed down a monster. "I summon Luster Dragon in attack mode." A smaller sapphire blue dragon of Luster Dragon #2 would appear onto the field with a loud roar. …Almost too loud of a roar.

Luster Dragon
Normal Monster – Level 4 – WIND – Dragon
1900 Attack / 1600 Defence
A very beautiful dragon covered with sapphire. It does not like fights but has incredibly high attack power.

In fact, the roar seemed to overtake Luster Dragon's as Dimitri was standing on the other side of the field as Soul Tiger was roaring loudly again… with Dimitri's backrow revealing another Threatening Roar. Dimitri and Spirit of the Breeze were both keeping up innocent smiles that brought another round laughter from the crowd.

Taiyou would gain a twitch in his eye as he spoke with gritted teeth. "…I'll activate two Dragon's Gunfire to deal 1600 damage to you. And then I end my turn." Luster Dragon #2 and Curse of Dragon would open their mouths as two large fireballs were then fired at Dimitri.

Dragon's Gunfire
Normal Spell
If you control a Dragon monster: Activate 1 of these effects;
● Inflict 800 damage to your opponent.
● Target 1 monster with 800 or less DEF; destroy that target.

As the fire hit Dimitri, he would speak in an exaggerated tone as he ran around his platform. "AH! Stop drop and roll! Stop drop and- Oh wait." He would then pat himself down as he turned to Spirit of the Breeze. "Phew. False alarm." This would cause the spirit to giggle.

Dimitri: 4000 – 1600 = 2400

Once Dimitri was done, another round of laughter could be heard from the crowd. Taiyou, however, was not laughing as he would glare at Dimitri. "You think this is a game?"

"…Well… I mean. This is duel monsters." Dimitri would tap his chin as the crowd was struggling to keep in their laughter at this point. "We're literally here at a school learning HOW to play a game. So yes, while not like Yahtzee, I think this is a game." This brought another round of chuckles.

"Oh you think you're so hilarious!" Taiyou would scoff. "Coming into this duel with an abysmal duel record and trash cards!? Are you making fun of me!?"

"…Trash cards? How wrong you are." Dimitri would stop as he looked at Taiyou with a smile. "…What was your first card? Is it in your deck?"

This made the crowd stop and Taiyou look confused as he scoffed. "It was Baby Dragon. And I removed it from my deck because it's weak. What about it?"

"Have you thrown it away?" Dimitri stared directly at Taiyou. "Despite being weak, you didn't throw it out, did you?" The boy would wait a moment before speaking. "You still have Baby Dragon. Just not in your deck."

Taiyou would look away as Dimitri continued. "Despite the fact that Baby Dragon is 'A weak card'… you still keep it. Because it's a special card. One that holds a place in your heart. …And that's reason why I'm dueling now."

Standing proudly, Dimitri would smile. "I plan to become the world's first Dueltainer! A duelist who focuses on being as fun and entertaining as possible! For no card is useless! They just need the right combination!"

He would then point to the crowd. "I am here to show that I am not going to become the next 'King of Games'! I have no desire to be the best… I simply want to enjoy each moment and use whatever cards I want! Because duel monsters? Is for everyone and every card!" Dimitri would then draw his card as his eyes widened and he grinned. "And I'll show you… as I win this duel this turn!"

He would toss the card up into the air with a grin. "Ladies and gentlemen! It's SHOW TIME!" Dimitri would then point to Spirit of the Breeze who turned to him with a smile as she would point her hand to him, releasing a refreshing breeze. "To start, whenever it's my standby phase and Spirit of the Breeze is in attack mode, I gain 1000 life points!"

Dimitri: 2400 + 1000 = 3400

"And now, I start to set the stage! I activate Last Will!" A paper will would appear on Dimitri's side of the field. "If a monster on my side of the field is sent to the graveyard this turn, I can special summon a monster with 1500 or less attack points from my deck this turn! And since we need a main star… well…" Dimitri would count between the three cards as he chuckles. "Guess you're our shining star for the will… come on out Ojama Green!"

The drumroll would appear once more as flipping onto the field in a muscle posing form was none other than Ojama Green as he grinned and laughed, his tongue flapping about as he laughed. "TADAAAAAA! Ready for the show boss!"

Last Will
Normal Spell
If a monster on your side of the field was sent to your Graveyard this turn, you can Special Summon 1 monster with an ATK of 1500 points or less from your Deck once during this turn. Then shuffle your Deck.

Ojama Green
Normal Monster – Level 2 – LIGHT – Beast
0 Attack / 1000 Defence
He's one of the Ojama Trio. It's said that he butts in by any means necessary. It's also said that when the three are together, something happens.

Dimitri would then grin. "Now! It's time for some audience participation!" The crowd looked confused as Dimitri grinned. "You've seen my deck so far and it has a main theme about it! And as such, a card like Last Will is absolutely broken for me! Can someone answer why?"

There would be silence for a moment until Bastion's eyes would widen as he spoke softly. "It can't be… Did he really?"

However, Dimitri would see Ojama Green pointing at Bastion as the boy turned to him. "Ah, Bastion! Seems you've figured it out!" The crowd would look towards the top ranked Ra Yellow. "Mind filling them in?"

Bastion would nod as he closed his eyes before gaining a smile. "I must say, I'm impressed. Soul Tiger, Spirit of the Breeze, and the Ojamas… they all have one matching factor." He would turn and look at Dimitri. "…Your deck only has monsters with zero attack points."

"…Right on the money Bastion!" Dimitri would turn to Taiyou with a mighty grin. "Every monster in my deck has an original attack point value of zero! Introducing… the Zero Hesitation deck!" Gasps would echo throughout the arena.

Up in the teacher's stand, Crowler was pulling at his hair. "This can't be! Not only is he making a mockery of my student, but also with a gimmick deck!?"

Meanwhile, Midori stood there with slightly widened eyes. "Well I'll be." She gained a smile as she turned to Satyr. "You must be rather proud of your student, huh?"

"Indeed I am." Satyr had a proud smile on his face as he looked at the smiling boy presenting to the crowd. "He struggled with finding himself… but now that he has? He could potentially take the entire academy by storm." The others turned to him as he smiled with closed eyes. "From what Dimitri told me, he vows to not be another card in the deck… but rather the joker. The wild card willing to use whatever he can."

Counsellor Sheppard would be silent for a moment as he smiled. "Well, then let us see how he takes this duel." The counsellor would keep his eye on the Ra Yellow as the duel was reaching it's climax.

"Now, to bring out our final two performers for this duel! I activate Polymerization!" A large swirling vortex would appear around the copycat duelist as he grinned. "I'll be fusing none other then everyone's favourite trio!" Appearing on Dimitri's shoulders was Ojama Yellow and Ojama Black.

They would run over to Ojama Green as all three of the Ojamas jumped forward into the swirling vortex. "Come forth the one and only! The King of all Ojamas! It's… Ojama King! In attack mode!" From the swilring vortex, a large white monstrous figure would be front flip spinning in the air before landing directly on it's feet with a big grin.

Polymerization
Normal Spell
Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or field as material.

Ojama King
Fusion Effect Monster – Level 6 – LIGHT – Beast
0 Attack / 3000 Defence
"Ojama Green" + "Ojama Yellow" + "Ojama Black"
Choose up to 3 of your opponent's unused Monster Zones. Those zones cannot be used.

"Now, thanks to the king, I can choose up to three unused monster zones on your side of the field that you can't use…" Dimitri would give an exaggerated sigh. "But that's not needed." A smirk would then appear on the boy's face. "Because we have one more performer ready to appear."

Suddenly, the paper will that had appeared on his side of the field started to glow. "Because Ojama Green left the field and went straight to the graveyard, I can bring a monster from my deck! The show is now in full bloom!" A card would jut out from Dimitri's duel disk as he grabbed it and spun it into the with flair. "I special summon Lindbloom in attack mode!"

As the card hit the field, a wave of flowers started to appear as they began to form into one being. Sharp green eyes and a grey underbelly formed under the bright blue flowers before letting out a roar and landing on the field.

Lindbloom
Effect Monster – Level 4 – EARTH – Wyrm
0 Attack / 1800 Defence
If a monster you control battles an opponent's monster, during damage calculation: The ATK of each monster in that battle becomes equal to their current DEF, until the end of the Damage Step.

Dimitri would look at his card with a mighty grin as he nodded. "Now that our main performer has blossomed onto the field… I switch Soul Tiger into attack mode and begin battle phase!" These words would cause the tiger to roar and get into a fierce position as the crowd grew confused. On Dimitri's side of the field was four monsters with zero attack points. Why battle phase?

The Ra Yellow boy would just grin as he pointed forwards. "Soul Tiger! Attack Taiyou's Curse of Dragon!" The tiger would let out a roar as it rushed towards the wicked dragon and jumped towards it. However, everyone would watch as Lindbloom let out a mighty roar. Once it did, a blue flower would grow on Curse of Dragon's wing and Soul Tiger's paw.

Then, the flowers would glow as Soul Tiger slashed through the wicked dragon, destroying it as the damage wind hit an absolutely befuddled Taiyou. "…WHAT!?"

Taiyou: 4000 – 600 = 3400

Dimitri would burst out in laughter as he grinned. "Like I said, the final performer has blossomed onto the stage! While Lindbloom is on the field, during the damage step of battle phase between one of my monsters and one of your monsters? Uses our Defence Points!"

The crowd would gasp and go wild. "That means instead of zero versus your two thousand… it was my two thousand and one hundred versus your fifteen hundred!"

Soul Tiger: 0 Attack / 2100 Defence

Curse of Dragon: 2000 Attack / 1500 Defence

He then snapped his fingers. "Why don't we continue this, shall we? Ojama King! Destroy his Luster Dragon!" The king would nod with a grin as it rushed towards the sapphire dragon.

And once more, Lindbloom would let out a mighty roar as flowers grew on the king and the sapphire dragon before glowing once more. The king would then start to do a front-flip somersault as he flew in the air before landing on the dragon with a large butt slam onto the ground with an earthquake.

Ojama King: 0 Attack / 3000 Defence

Luster Dragon: 1900 Attack / 1600 Defence

...

Taiyou: 3400 – 1400 = 2000

Dimitri would be grinning as he then dramatically posed and pointed at Spirit of the Breeze. "Now… it is time for my lovely assistant take the stage! With the one and only Luster Dragon #2 as her target!" He would then smile at her. "If you may?"

"Why thank you~" The spirit would smile coyly. "You know, when you said we would get to prove everyone wrong, I didn't expect it would be me taking out a massive dragon on my own."

"Well… go big or go home, right? Spirit of the Breeze! Attack Luster Dragon #2!" The spirit would slowly float up into the air as she held her hands together, slowly collecting the air around her into a swirling balling of wind.

And on cue, Lindbloom would roar once more as a flower grew on Luster Dragon #2's wing and on Spirit of the Breeze's hand. The flowers would glow once more as the wind started to pick up more and more before Spirit of the Breeze launched it Luster Dragon #2. Upon impact, a massive tornado would appear, destroying the emerald dragon.

Spirit of the Breeze: 0 Attack / 1800 Defence

Luster Dragon #2: 2400 Attack / 1400 Defence

...

Taiyou: 2000 – 400 = 1600

Dimitri would grin as he then clapped his hands together. "Now, with the field taken down… it's time for the grand finale!" He would grin as he gestured to the crowd. "Ladies and gentlemen, you witnessed the ability of Lindbloom… but there's no more monsters! How could I possibly deal damage to Taiyou now? Well… I can! And it's all thanks to the card that's been on the field since the first turn!" Pointing at his face down card, it would flip over as a pulse of energy echoed through the field.

As it did, Soul Tiger wouldn't be changed… however, Dimitri's other would start to change. Ojama King's white skin would turn pitch black as his green cape became red and his red undies became green.

Spirit of the Breeze would have her skin turn from green to red, her hair from blue to orange, her yellow graceful dress into a purple alluring dress, and her angelic white wings into pitch black devil wings.

Finally, Lindbloom's flowers would slowly change into a fiery orange as his underbelly became brown and his eyes turned into sharp red eyes.

Dimitri would just grin. "I activated Inverse Universe! This trap affects all Effect Monsters on the field and switches their Attack and Defence points!" He gestured to his changed monsters with a grin. "Meaning now? They're glass cannons ready for battle! Lindbloom! Finish this duel!"

The flowery wyrm would fly up into the air as a glowing orange energy started to form around it's mouth. With a mighty roar, Lindbloom would release a massive beam of energy towards the Obelisk Blue, hitting him directly.

Lindbloom: 1800 Attack / 0 Defence

Taiyou: 1600 – 1800 = 0

DIMITRI WINS!

Dimitri, as the monsters started to change back and disappear, Dimitri would grin as he yelled out loudly. "And that's the show! I hope you enjoyed!"

The crowd would cheer loudly at the entertaining show put on as Dimitri turned to his opponent. Walking over, Taiyou would scoff and glare as he pocketed his deck. "What? Going to laugh and taunt the loser?"

"Good game!" Dimitri would hold his hand out for Taiyou with a smile. The blue would look at the hand in confusion as Dimitri chuckled. "I'm serious! It was a good game! Truthfully, I got lucky with my draws. One destruction or negate card and I was in a world of hurt."

"…That's… right." Taiyou nodded as he frowned. "You could have lost at any point. But… you don't care?"

Dimitri would shake his head. "Of course not. Is winning fun? Sure. But what I enjoyed more was putting on a show and enjoying the duel." Dimitri would sigh a bit. "Truthfully, I feel like Seto Kaiba did both a good thing and a bad thing. He made duel monsters popular… but he also made it so serious."

The dragon duelist would ponder the boy's words before nodded and taking the extended hand. "Good duel. And I guess… you plan to make duel monsters become "fun" again?"

"Eh, it's up to the person. If someone ones to duel seriously, be my guest." Dimitri would smile as he shrugged. "But if it's against me? I am not dueling to be some badass pro. I'm dueling to have fun and bring smiles and laughs. And to use any card because any card has it's use!" Letting go of the Obelisk's blue's hand; Dimitri would wave and walk out of the duel arena.

As he left, Taiyou would reach into a side case of cards as he pulled out a Baby Dragon. "…Maybe my deck needs some reworking… with you in it." The boy would then stop as he, for a second, could have sworn he saw Baby Dragon wink at him. Shaking his head with a smile, he pocketed the card and headed off.

Up in the stands with the professors, Crowler would be ranting and raving. "I never even HEARD of Lindbloom! Or Inverse Universe! To pull out unknown cards to win against my Obelisk Blue!?" Crowler would turn to Sheppard. "We must expel him on the grounds of cheating!"

"You will do NO SUCH THING." Professor Midori would speak up with a frosty glare as she sighed. "A new card doesn't mean cheating. The duel disks we use at our academy are personally controlled by Kaiba-Corporation. Meaning that the cards used in the duel were all accounted for and verified by Kaiba-Corporation."

Sheppard would nod. "Indeed. To state that Dimitri was cheating would go against the official security programs built into the academy duel disks." The man would stare at the leaving duelist with a smile as he turned to Satyr. "But… I think I understand what you mean Professor Satyr."

Satyr would nod with a proud smile. Truthfully, it was but the beginning. Dimitri had more to show and more to reveal! But for now, the wild card made it's first appearance!

-TO BE CONTINUED-

Hello everyone! Void here!

And welcome to my attempt at doing an "Inserted into GX" story. Truthfully, I like stories like these, and I've read a good number of them. However, as time went on, I found myself wanting to make one of my own.

And I've read a good number of them! I've actually taken a bit of inspiration from some of them. These including "Why am I Syrus?" by CaioCoia, "Stacking the Deck!" by 0 Jordinio 0, and "A Frog Out Of Water – Yu-Gi-Oh GX" by LeafyLeaf.

Each of these stories had parts of it that made me enjoy them and from them I wanted to create a story following an inserted character trying to just… enjoy the scene instead of having to deal with all the darkness and craziness.

Now, there is the question is… why did I pick Dimitri?

In my stories, (unless I build around them), I prefer to have my characters be ACTUAL characters from the series. I don't like using original characters as it makes them feel… too important/taking over the entire story.

So instead, I try to pick a character I felt could play the leading role of this story. And through them, I settled on a couple of picks… but in the end chose Dimitri as… I felt like he deserved more.

He was an interesting character with this concept of using different cards as different duelists. While the show likes to hammer home "You need to follow the heart of the cards and trust your OWN deck"… which is ironic considering the competitive scene usually follows the same archetypes… but the idea of multiple decks appealed to me.

Then, I figured "Hey, why not make the goofiest and fun decks I can?" And thus… Joker's Wild! Dimitri is the Joker. The wild card! And through this story, I plan to make him slowly build his own cast of friends just like Jaden… only with other side characters.

It'll be a fun time and I have plans! So prepare yourself!

But now… for the biggest thing. Decks.

Send me all your ideas for gimmicks and deck ideas! And when I mean gimmicks, I mean gimmicks. I want the goofiest but most unique decks possible!

I don't want archetypes or strategies that you would see in a serious story. This is a story following a duelist who will pull the craziest combinations one can see. Plus… I like being given a concept for a deck more than an archetype.

The theorycrafting I had while making "Zero Hesitation" was fun and there's still so much more of the deck that hasn't been shown! I wanted a fun idea and went with a "Zero Attack Points" deck!

So, yeah. When it comes to suggestions, suggest me deck ideas or fun concepts to work around! Or give me an obscure card and ask me to make it work in a deck! Just whatever fun suggestions you have!

But… that's all for now! Until next time! See you all later!
