Ness woke up to the sound of his alarm. He laid there and went on his phone. He was scrolling through Tina's pictures. He remembered the last time they hung out. They started flirting and he thought she was going to kiss him. They didn't, but they almost did! Man, if they did, that would've been a dream come true.
Years ago, he never would've imagined that he would hang out with Tina. Things have changed so much since Mario tried to take over smash.
He's been more outgoing. Heck, he's hanging out with Sonic. He never once thought that would happen. They're too different and he still hardly knows him despite being in a cave with him for eight months. But hey! He's finally making friends.

He checked his phone and saw that Tina messaged him. He grinned and texted her back.

Ness swiped the notification away. He was getting tired of the sound, so he silenced his phone.

Tonight? What day is it? He checked his calendar app and saw that it was a Thursday. He's supposed to hang out with the boys. Maybe canceling just this one time won't hurt, right? Besides, they'll still party no matter what.
He clicked on the Boys Chillin 2.0 group chat to tell them that he can't make it tonight.

They're all excited that he's going to attend tonight's hang out. The guilt started getting to him. What should he do? He really wants to hang out with Tina, but he doesn't want to disappoint Lucas. His friend would be scared if he doesn't show up to the party. Lucas is antisocial.
Although Lucas seems to be getting comfortable with them on his own there. He teased him on text in front of everybody. He never does that. Could this mean he'll be ok without him? He's sure it wouldn't be too awkward if he doesn't show up this one time. Besides, this will be good for Lucas. This gets him out of his comfort zone. They don't have to hang out every time. Lucas should learn to be more independent anyway.

That Sonic comment caught him off guard. He didn't expect Sonic to say something like that. He said he is important. He didn't want to admit it, but reading that text made him happy.

Oh no. What should he do? He wants to hang out with both. If only there were two of him.

There is. What if he called up Nate and brought him here for tonight? No, what is he thinking? First of all, Nate acts differently. Second, his clone is trying to live his best life. He doesn't want to see anybody here right now because of what he did. Third, making Nate pretend that he's Ness is messed up.
Ness has no choice but to pick. He thought about it for another minute and finally made his decision. He took a deep breath and began texting.

Ness: I'm sorry, I really want to show them that I'm reliable. I'm still the new guy and I'm trying to get them to like me. I promise next week I'll attend the party.

He felt bad. He didn't like seeing them all upset like that. It's fine. They'll get through it. It's one week. He'll definitely show up at the next one.
He didn't know if he would be able to have this chance with Tina again. There isn't a routine with her yet. Next hang out with her might be in a month or two. Who knows? At least with the boys it's every week. It hurts now, but they'll get over it.

He got out of bed and began and put on a sweater and a shirt over it. He put on sweatpants and he didn't forget his signature cap and rucksack. He was all ready to go.
Ness grabbed his skateboard and went outside to ride around while Lucky chased him. The two were having fun until a smasher came up to him.
?: "Ness!"
Ness was gonna try to do a kickflip to show off in front of Lucky, but when he heard his name, he turned around and fell off. The smasher cringed and extended his hand.
?: "Oooh. That looked like it hurt."
Ness: "Yeah, it did. Thanks for that."
Ness grabbed the smasher's hand and realized it was Pit.

Pit: "Sorry. I didn't mean to distract you."
Ness: "Whoa, Pit! I haven't seen you in a minute. Where have you been?"
Pit: "Trapped in the rewind spring."
Ness: "Huh?" *Tilts head*
Pit: "Trapped in an island floating in space."

Pit: "It's not important. So, how have you been? I heard you saved the world."
Ness: "It was mainly Kirby."

His eyes were full of stars when he said that.

Ness looked at the angel up and down unimpressed.

Ness: "I heard you also don't like taking showers."

Pit: "Uh, is something wrong?"
Ness: "Have you seen her?"
Pit: "No, I've been trying to contact her, but she won't answer my telepathic calls."
Ness wasn't sure what happened to the goddess of light. Last time he saw her was when she returned from her vacation. She didn't listen to what he had to say and said she'll fix it herself.
He's not sure if she died or dipped. Not even The Hands know what happened to her. Everyone assumed she left to do her own thing because she does that sometimes. But it's strange that she's not returning Pit's calls.
Ness: "I'm sorry."
Pit: "It's ok. She's probably hanging out with the other gods. She tends to do that and not tell me."
Ness: "Ah, I see."
Pit: "Anyway, enough about me, what's been going on in Ness's world."
Ness could tell that the angel was upset. Ness decided to leave it alone. Clearly Pit doesn't want to talk about it.
Ness: "Oh, things are doing ok. I'm still adjusting."
Pit: "I'm sure you're doing more than ok."
Ness: "What do you mean?"
Pit elbowed Ness.
Pit: "Don't try to act all innocent. I know what you've been up to~"

Ness's social battery was running low. Talking to him was exhausting. He kept rambling and rambling, but that's Pit. He doesn't know when to stop chatting.
He and Lucky went to the food court. He was able to buy something small for the two. His paycheck is not until tomorrow, but thanks to Lucas giving him that hundred dollar bill, he had barely enough to afford a burger for him and Lucky.
The two happily munched. After lunch, he went back to his room and started playing League. He won a couple but lost most of his matches. He decided to take a break and started drawing in his notebook. He hasn't in a while. He was almost finished but he heard his notification sound.

He sprayed cologne on himself and ordered Lucky to protect the room. The Pokemon started throwing a tantrum because he wanted to go too.

Ness: "Lucky, c'mon. You tend to not stay in your ball."

Ness: "No!"
Lucky whipped his tail at the lamp causing it to fall on the floor.
Ness: "Stop!"

Ness: "F-fine, you can come."

Ness: "But you have to stay in the ball."

Ness returned Lucky inside the ball. He went over to his lamp and put it back on his nightstand. He grabbed his rucksack and left his place. As he was walking down the stairs to leave the mansion, he heard his phone ringing.

Ness: "Yeah, sorry, I'm heading to the subway right now."
Tina: "Cool! You don't need directions, right?"
