The next day, we left for New Mexico after we had lunch in San Francisco.

"We'll be stopping in New Mexico for dinner," said Mr. Spier.

"Sounds good," said Stacey.

"Are we actually staying here?" asked Dawn.

"Yes," said Mr. Spier. "We'll be there for the night then we'll be heading for Texas in the morning."

New Mexico sounds. I love Spanish. Kayla and I studied in school. I noticed Mary Anne doesn't look thrilled about it.

When we got in New Mexico, we went to go check in first at the campground. I helped Mr. Spier by speaking Spanish at the check in.

Then, we went to go eat at the Mexican Restaurant for supper. Some of us barely understood what the waitress was saying including me: She was speaking in Spanish. But Kayla & I understood it.

After we ordered, Kristy said, "How can you understand her?"

"Kaylee and I learned in school," I said. "We learned it at our old school back in New York."

That was when the food arrived. It was good. I like Tacos with Spanish rice. After dinner, we shared a dessert. When we got back to the campground, Kayla found a Spanish book while we hang outside.

"That also explains why you knew Spanish," said Mary Anne.

"We got it from New York," I said.

"We both had straight As and Bs," said Kayla.

"We noticed you didn't look thrilled about New Mexico," I said.

"Well, to be honest, I found it boring and hated that subject," said Mary Anne.

"Since when?" asked Claudia.

"I thought you like all of the subjects," said Dawn.

"I do, but honestly, I struggled in that subject at the beginning," said Mary Anne.

"Really?" asked Kristy.

"Luckily, it was during short takes," said Mary Anne. "I had mostly Cs, but I'll take that than failing."

"We did help her out though," said Kayla.

"We also let her borrow that Spanish book," I said.

"That's a good thing," said Stacey.

"Thank god for that part. Even though my grades pulled up near the end, I liked French better to be honest with you because I had As," said Mary Anne.

"Be prepared, you'll be having Spanish in high school," said April.

"When do they learn that?" asked Mary Anne.

"I heard it's either this year or next year," said April.

"We can still help you if you need us," said Kayla.

"Even if we're still not in Maine yet," I said.

"Oh, that would be great," said Mary Anne.

Later, at 8:00 pm, we watched some Spanish movies that Kayla found on Youtube.

"Watching movies in Spanish can help," said Kayla.

"True," said Mary Anne.

We watched a few of them before we got ready for bed by 10:00 pm.
