After the meeting, I was downstairs making dinner with my older sister, Janine.
"Are you busy on Christmas Eve?" I asked my sister.
"I'm not sure. Why?" asked Janine.
"Mary Anne and Dawn is inviting all of us to a Christmas Party on that night from six to nine. It's on a Tuesday. She said you, Mom, and Dad are welcome to attend if none of you is busy. We'll ask them later when they come home for supper," I explained.
"Good idea," said Janine.
At dinner, I told my parents about the Christmas Party as well. "The girls decided to have a slumber party the night before and I can home with you."
"That would be perfect for because Russ and Peaches are coming on Christmas Day for dinner," said Mom.
"Okay. Great," I smiled. "I'll call Dawn and Mary Anne after dinner to tell her."
After dinner, I went up to my room to phone as Dawn answered. As you can see, I have a phone of my own and a private line, which is why we have our meetings here.
"Hello," said Dawn.
"Hi. I was just wanted to tell you guys that my family and I will be honored to attend the Christmas Party," I said.
"Okay. Kristy just called here before dinner saying she'll be here on her father and his family, but her mother and Watson would be out of town with the other crew," said Dawn.
"No problem," I said.
Mary Anne said, "Dawn and I came up with more ideas for the party that we'll share with you at the next meeting."
After we chatted, I was studying for a math test for tomorrow. I'm a terrible student in every subject even though I get C averages- only way I can remain a BSC member. I'm also a horrible speller.
"Do you want some help with studying for the math test?" asked Janine.
"Sure, thanks," I said.
Janine's a genius and would always help me study so I'd get a B or higher. We studied for awhile. It was on demicals in addition. We just started to learn about them. The trick is trying to put demicals in the right place. You know what I would do: use a ruler to help out. Janine helped me with that part when I first started learning that.
The next day, we were getting ready for the test. We can use scrap paper, but no calculators though. I don't mind. It didn't take me long-only 30 minutes. After I was done, I passed it in.
"Thank you, Claudia," said the math teacher.
At lunch, the other girls said their families are coming as well.
"Oh, good," said Dawn.
After school, on the way home, Mallory and Jessi saw us halfway (They still attend Stoneybrook Middle School as seventh graders) Mary Anne and Dawn mentioned on what they came up with.
"And, Dad and Sharon said it was a good idea," said Mary Anne.
"Okay, that would be cool," said Kayla.
"We're just having our parents with us," said Jessi. "Squirt will be with our aunt to give us a break."
"Yeah, our siblings will be busy. They're going to another Christmas Eve Party that same night," said Mallory.
"No problem," said Dawn.
"I invited Marci, Patti, and Kathi as well. They'll get back to me," said Mary Anne. "If they can't make it to the sleepover or the party, they might spend Christmas Day with us."
"During family time?" asked Dawn.
"I don't think Dad would have an issue with that. I'm going to check with him to make sure," said Mary Anne.
"That's a good idea," I said.
"I bet they'll have permission to do that," said Kristy.
"Me, too," said Kayla.
