Jessi- Christmas is my favorite time of the year!

Mallory- Same here.

Jessi's family is coming over for Christmas dinner. I can't wait for them to come over. Mom wants my siblings to help me out to set the table. Do you think they would help out? All they want to do is play with their new gifts. I went over to them.

"Guys, you need to come help set the table to get ready before Jessi's family get here," I said. "You can play later."

"But it's too early," said Jordan.

"Mom said to do it now," I told him. "And, I'm not doing it alone."

That made them help me out. Thankfully, we were done in 20 minutes. Jessi's family came at the same time. I'd be sitting with Jessi since we're best friends. We love to sit together especially at lunch. This would be the best Christmas ever!

"Merry Christmas, Jessi," I said.

"Merry Christmas," said Jessi.

"It was fun last night," I said.

"I know," said Jessi.

"I made Mary Anne a present. Can one of you give it to her when you see her?" asked Vanessa.

"Sure," I said.

Vanessa's a poet and went to get a book of poems that she did. She got it in a gift bag.

"It's about her," said Vanessa.

"I'm sure she'd like that," said Jessi.

"That was very thoughtful of her," said Mom.

"I know," I agreed. "I can drop it off at her house tomorrow."

Then, it was time for dinner. We were having ham with corn, squash, and mashed potatoes along with gravy. We prayed before we started eating. It was a good meal. After we had dinner, we all cleaned up. The best part of all is that Jessi had plans to sleepover. In fact, I'll be sleeping at her house tomorrow, so that was cool. Her family left by around 8:30 pm.

After they left, Jessi and I had our pjs on. We decided to watch A Christmas Carol in the rec room downstairs. I love Christmas movies at this time of the year. We went to bed at around ten and we whispered in bed for awhile. Vanessa was sleeping in my room using a cot. We fell asleep nearly 20 to 30 minutes later.

The next day, I packed my overnight bag as before Jessi grabbed hers and we took off to bring Vanessa's gift at Mary Anne's house. We were told that she was baby-sitting.

"I will give it to her," said Mr. Spier. "She'll be coming back shortly to get the overnight bags."

"Okay," I said.

"She had a last minute phone call from Mrs. Prezzioso to watch Jenny for a bit," said Mr. Spier. "And, the other girls are with her."

Then, we went over to her house. We would be sleeping in her room. Jessi unpacked her bag and put it away.

"Can't wait to see Mary Anne's face when she opens that gift," said Jessi.

"Me, either," I said.

We're going to be watching Becca and Squirt tonight. Her parents are going out to an adult Christmas Party for their co-workers and her aunt who lives with them is busy, too. It would be from 6:00 pm to midnight. It's in Stamford.

"What time do they go to bed?" I asked.

"Around 8:30 pm," replied Jessi. "We're going to feed them dinner."

At 5:30 pm, her parents are getting ready to leave.

"You're just going to have Squirt tonight," said Mrs. Ramsey.

"Oh, yeah, I forgot we won't have Becca," said Jessi.

"Me, too," I said.

"That's okay," said Mrs. Ramsey.

She was sleeping over at her best friend, Charlotte's house.

"You girls can stay up until we get back," said Mrs. Ramsey.

At 6:30 pm, we fed Squirt first before we did it ourselves. We had grilled cheese with chips. At 8:00 pm, Jessi said, "I'm going to get Squirt ready for bed."

That's what she did and came back down 30 minutes later.

"He's already out like a light," said Jessi.

She reads him and Becca a bedtime story. They both love it.

"We could change ourselves to get comfy to be all set," I said.

"Good idea," said Jessi.

That's what we did. After that was all set, we watched a couple of movies in the living room. Her parents were back before midnight while we were still watching a movie.

"How's everything?" asked Mrs. Ramsey.

"We made out fine," I replied.

"Good, I'll pay you both in the morning," said Mrs. Ramsey.

"We're just going to finish this movie before we go to bed," said Jessi.

"That's fine," said her mom. "Your father and I are heading off to bed now."

"Okay, night," we said.

After we finished watching the movie, we went off to bed. We whispered in bed for a bit until we went to sleep.
