Bella's POV

Bella stood motionless, her breath caught in her throat, as she stared at the silver Volvo parked in the driveway of her old home in Forks. The sight of the car, its sleek body catching the last glimmers of the setting sun, sent a jolt through her. She knew that car anywhere—Edward's car. She had seen it here before, two years ago, the day when she had returned for one last look at the house she had once called home.

Why was he here? Bella had heard through whispers in town that Charlie had sold the house shortly after she'd left Forks, the memories too painful for him to stay. But why was Edward still visiting? Had he… bought it? The thought gnawed at her, a question she had no answer to. She couldn't imagine why he would purchase the house, but the evidence was right in front of her.

Bella's heart ached with the realization that he had never truly moved on, just as she had never moved on from him. She clenched her fists, forcing herself to step back into the shadows of the forest that bordered the property. She couldn't let him see her—not yet, not until she had a plan.

How could she tell him the truth? That she was still here, in Forks, hiding in the shadows, waiting for the right moment to reveal herself? The thought of seeing him again, of being close enough to touch him, was almost too much to bear. But she knew she had to be careful. She didn't want to frighten him, or worse, make him think she was some kind of stalker. She chuckled softly at the thought, a sad, hollow sound. The idea of being an ex-girlfriend vampire stalker was almost laughable… almost.

But the truth was, she missed him. She missed him so much that the thought of even glimpsing him, of seeing him breathe, of watching the rise and fall of his chest as he slept, would ease the ache in her heart. Tonight, she decided, she would go to his room, just to watch him sleep. She wouldn't stay long, just enough to soothe her restless soul.

For now, she needed to distract herself. Bella turned and sped through the forest, her feet barely touching the ground as she made her way back to the Cullen house. Emmett had been pestering her for days to watch a movie with him, and tonight, she had no excuse to avoid it.

When Bella arrived home, she found Emmett lounging on the couch in the living room, a wide grin on his face. He held up a DVD case, waving it in her direction as she entered.

"Finally decided to join me, huh?" he teased, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "I've been waiting for this all week!"

Bella rolled her eyes but couldn't suppress the smile that tugged at her lips. "Only because I lost the bet," she reminded him, plopping down next to him on the couch.

"Hey, a bet's a bet," Emmett replied, shrugging. "You thought you could outrun me in the forest. Big mistake."

Bella grumbled good-naturedly, knowing she had no real grounds to argue. She had been confident she could win, but Emmett's brute strength and determination had given him the edge. Now, she was paying the price—two hours of watching a movie that she wouldn't have chosen herself.

Emmett popped the DVD into the player and hit play, settling back with a contented sigh. The movie started, and Bella groaned inwardly. Of course, it was *Monty Python and the Holy Grail*—a film Emmett had been raving about for weeks. She had seen bits and pieces of it before, enough to know it was the kind of absurd humor that Emmett loved, but that didn't exactly resonate with her.

As the movie played, Bella found herself half-watching, half-lost in her thoughts. She tried to focus on the ridiculous antics on the screen, but her mind kept drifting back to Edward, to the sight of his car in the driveway, to the overwhelming need to be near him again.

It wasn't long before Alice and Jasper joined them, slipping quietly down the stairs and settling on the other side of the long couch. Bella glanced over at them, offering a small smile. Jasper nodded in acknowledgment, while Alice's eyes seemed distant, as if she were seeing something far away.

Bella's attention was drawn back to the movie, but only for a moment. She barely registered the jokes that had Emmett roaring with laughter. Instead, she noticed the way Alice suddenly stiffened beside Jasper, her eyes glazing over as a vision took hold.

"Alice?" Jasper's voice was soft but urgent, his hand resting gently on Alice's shoulder.

Bella turned to Alice, her heart beginning to pound in her chest. "Alice, what is it?"

Alice blinked rapidly, her eyes focusing on Bella with a mixture of fear and urgency. "It's Edward," she whispered, her voice trembling. "He's… he's in trouble."

Bella's breath caught in her throat. "What kind of trouble? Alice, tell me!"

Alice closed her eyes for a brief moment, as if replaying the vision in her mind. "He's driving, alone. But… something's going to happen. It's happening right now."

Bella's body went cold with fear. "What do you mean? What's happening to him?"

Alice's voice was a mere whisper, filled with dread. "He's on the highway, driving fast. But fate has other plans. There's a deer… it runs out onto the road, and he swerves to avoid it. His car—his car skids off the road, slams into a tree…"

Bella's vision swam as Alice described the accident in chilling detail. "No," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "No, this can't be happening."

But Alice wasn't done. "He's hurt, Bella. Not badly, but… he's dazed, confused. He's trying to get his bearings, trying to get back into the car… but he's in pain."

Bella's instincts screamed at her to run to him, to find him and make sure he was safe. She jumped to her feet, but Emmett was faster, grabbing her arm before she could bolt out the door.

"Bella, wait," Emmett urged, his voice steady but firm. "We need to be smart about this."

"No!" Bella cried, struggling against his grip. "I have to go to him! I can't let him get hurt!"

Alice shook her head, her expression pained. "Bella, listen to me. The vision… it's already happened. There's nothing you can do right now. We need to call Carlisle."

Bella wanted to scream, to cry, to tear through the night until she found Edward and made sure he was okay. But Alice's words broke through the haze of panic that clouded her mind. She forced herself to take a deep breath, to calm down enough to think clearly.

Emmett's grip on her arm loosened, and Bella sagged against him, her body trembling with fear. "I can't… I can't lose him," she whispered, her voice choked with emotion. "I can't live without him."

"You won't," Emmett promised, his voice gentle. "Carlisle will take care of him."

As if on cue, Rosalie burst into the room, her expression confused and alarmed. "What's going on?" she demanded, glancing around at the tense faces in the room.

"Alice had a vision," Jasper explained, his tone grim. "Edward's been in an accident."

Rosalie's eyes widened in shock, but she didn't waste any time. She pulled out her phone and dialed the hospital, her voice cool and composed as she spoke to the nurse on duty. "This is Rosalie Hale. There's been an emergency with one of Carlisle Cullen's daughters. I need to speak with him immediately."

There was a tense silence as they waited, every second dragging on like an eternity. Finally, the phone rang, and Rosalie answered it with a clipped, "Carlisle?"

Bella watched anxiously as Rosalie's expression softened slightly, a sign that Carlisle had managed to reassure her. "Yes, she's here," Rosalie said, glancing at Bella. "I'll put her on."

Bella took the phone with trembling hands, her heart pounding in her chest. "Carlisle?"

"Bella," Carlisle's voice was calm, soothing. "It's okay. Edward's fine. He was in a minor accident, but he's already been treated and sent home. He's going to be alright."

Tears welled up in Bella's eyes, relief flooding her system like a wave. "Thank you, Carlisle. Thank you."

Carlisle's voice remained steady. "There's no need to worry. He's probably home now, resting. You can see him later if you'd like, but for now, just take a moment to breathe, alright?"

Bella nodded, though Carlisle couldn't see it. "I will. Thank you."

She handed the phone back to Rosalie, sinking back into Emmett's arms as the reality of the situation settled in. Edward was safe. He was alive. But the reminder of how fragile his life was, how quickly everything could be taken away, left Bella shaken to her core.

As the minutes ticked by, Bella's resolve hardened. She would go to Edward tonight. She would watch over him, make sure he was truly okay. And when the time was right, she would tell him everything.

--

The moon was high in the sky by the time Bella slipped into Edward's room, her movements silent as a shadow. The house was quiet, the only sound the gentle rustling of the trees outside. She made her way to his bed, her breath catching as she saw him lying there, his face peaceful in sleep.

For a long moment, Bella simply watched him, her eyes tracing the familiar contours of his face. He was beautiful, even more so in sleep, his features relaxed and free of the tension that often creased his brow when he was awake.

Edward stirred slightly, his brow furrowing as he mumbled something under his breath. Bella leaned in closer, her heart skipping a beat as she caught the faint sound of her name on his lips. "Bella…"

His eyes fluttered open for a brief moment, and Bella froze, her heart pounding in her chest. For an instant, their gazes met, and Bella thought he was awake, that he had seen her. But then his eyes drifted closed again, and his breathing evened out as he slipped back into sleep.

Bella let out a shaky breath, her hand hovering just above his cheek. She wanted to touch him, to feel the warmth of his skin beneath her fingertips, but she held back. Now was not the time. She needed to be patient.

Carefully, she retreated to the corner of the room, where she could watch over him without disturbing his rest. She would stay for a while, just to make sure he was okay. Then, when the time was right, she would tell him the truth.

--

The next day dawned clear and bright, but Bella's mind was clouded with uncertainty. She spent the morning pacing the Cullen house, her thoughts a whirlwind of worry and doubt. She knew she needed to tell Edward the truth, but the question of how weighed heavily on her.

By noon, Bella was on edge, unable to sit still for more than a few minutes at a time. The others had gone to school, leaving her alone with her thoughts. Finally, she decided to go for a hunt, hoping that the physical exertion would help clear her mind.

When she returned, it was late afternoon, and she found Alice, Jasper, and Emmett in the living room, deep in conversation. Bella hesitated in the doorway, sensing that something was wrong.

"What happened?" she asked, her voice breaking the tense silence.

Alice looked up, her expression troubled. "It's Edward. He came to the school today."

Bella's heart skipped a beat. "What do you mean?"

"He's investigating," Alice explained, her voice tight. "He was asking questions, trying to figure out who we are. He's suspicious, Bella. I think he's starting to put the pieces together."

Bella's stomach twisted with anxiety. "What do we do?"

Alice's eyes unfocused as she slipped into another vision. Bella held her breath, watching as Alice's expression darkened with fear. When Alice finally spoke, her voice was low and urgent. "If you don't tell him, he'll find out on his own. He'll come to the house, demanding answers… demanding you."

Bella's blood ran cold at the thought. "I have to tell him," she murmured, more to herself than to anyone else. "I have to do it before he finds out on his own."

Alice nodded, her eyes filled with sympathy. "You need to be ahead of him, Bella. If you're the one to tell him, it will give us the upper hand. He'll understand better if it comes from you."

Bella took a deep breath, steeling herself for what she knew she had to do. "I'll go tonight," she decided, her voice firm. "I'll tell him everything."

The hours dragged on, each minute feeling like an eternity as Bella waited for the cover of night. When the time finally came, she moved with a sense of purpose, slipping out of the house and heading towards Edward's home. Her heart pounded with a mixture of fear and determination, but she knew this was the only way.

When she arrived at his house, she hesitated at the foot of the stairs, her hand resting on the railing as she gathered her courage. Taking a deep breath, she ascended the stairs, her footsteps silent as she made her way to his room.

Bella pushed the door open, her heart racing as she stepped inside. Edward was sitting up in bed, his eyes wide with surprise as he saw her standing in the doorway.

"Bella?" he whispered, his voice filled with disbelief.

Bella took a step forward, her eyes locked on his. "Edward," she began, her voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions inside her. "There's something I need to tell you…"

What I'm trying to do here is overlap Bella and Edward's timelines. For example, if Bella planned on telling Edward something two chapters ago (from her point of view), then chapters 12 and 13 are from Edward's point of view, so we get to see what happened to him. Now, in chapter 14, we return to Bella's POV for the continuation."

Hope that clears everything up!
