Peter walked with the teens, to a place that looked like some very outdoorsy camp. The camp looked very rustic as if it was made by people who were stranded and made a shelter.
"Woah... what is this place?" Peter asked.
"We've been stranded here. We missed the last ship," Dariusreplied.
Peter raised an eyebrow in surprise. "You three... built all of this?"
"Not just us three. We've got three more people here," Kenji added. Just then, a girl in a light pink jacket approached them.
"Hey, Brooklynn! We... um... found someone..." Ben said.
Brooklynn turned to Peter, arching an eyebrow. "Who are you? Were you here this whole time and we didn't even know?"
"If we told you the whole story, you wouldn't believe us," Ben replied.
Feeling it was best to be polite, Peter introduced himself. "Hello, I'm Peter. You must be Brooklynn? I've been to Brooklyn once—" He smiled.
Ben looked at Peter, and covered his face, cringing at Peter's joke. Brooklynn giggled. "Well, it's nice to meet you," Brooklynn said.
Peter smiled, then looked up at the camp. "Wow... I still can't believe you guys built all of this, you guys can really survive-"
Brooklyn stood up next to him. "Yeah, it took a while, but we managed. Would have went faster if Kenji helped us with his lazy ass-"
"HEY!" Kenji shouted, while Darius snickered.
"So," she said, turning back to her friends, "what did you mean by I wouldn't believe something?"
Kenji glanced at Peter, making a gesture for him to explain.
Peter nodded. Ben was standing there, staring. He hasn't even seen Peter's powers yet.
"I... I'm not from here," Peter said.
Brooklynn tilted her head. "You're not from here? Well... none of us are, really—"
"Thank you!" Ben interjected, frustrated. "Just what I said! These two idiots believed this guy when he said he's from an alternate universe!"
"Hey, Ben, chill out!" Darius retorted.
"Don't tell me to chill! I guess being isolated has clearly made you two lose it!" Ben snapped.
Brooklynn listened, looking thoroughly bewildered.
Realizing he needed to demonstrate his powers, Peter took a breath. They seemed like good friends, and he didn't want to ruin their friendship just by existing there. He shot a web toward a nearby tree.
"Huh?" Ben turned, eyes widening as he saw Peter holding a string attached to the tree. "What is that?"
Kenji and Darius exchanged knowing glances; they had seen Peter in action before.
Peter gripped the string and yanked it hard, causing the tree to crash down. "Woah, what the—?!" Ben gasped, eyes wide as the tree seemed about to topple on Peter. "Why are you just standing there?!" Ben yelled, rushing to pull Peter away. But Peter clenched his fist and punched the tree, sending it soaring into the sky.
Ben and Brooklyn, just stared at the tree going up into the sky, mouths agape, while Kenji and Darius just smiled.
Ben finally turned to Peter. "I'm sorry, but... WHAT THE FU—?!"
Brooklynn interrupted, "How did you do that?!" she exclaimed.
"Darius and Kenji aren't going crazy. I really am from another dimension, and I might need some help getting back," Peter explained. Ben's confusion deepened, and he plopped down on a log. "You... have supernatural powers. That's impossible—science fiction!"
"Well, so is bringing dinosaurs back to life, and here we are, trying to avoid being eaten alive," Kenji pointed out.
Darius nodded in agreement.
Brooklyn looked at Peter. "Oh... my gosh... if I had my phone, I'd so want you on my videos,"
"Okay, so... you're from another world. How did you get here?" Ben asked, still grappling with the situation.
"I came through this thing called the Collider," Peter replied.
"Collider?" Brooklynn echoed, her curiosity piqued.
"Yeah, he said it's like a dimensional transport device," Darius clarified.
"But I think he mentioned it only connects to worlds that have their own," Kenji added. Peter nodded in affirmation.
"Only connects to worlds that have their own?" Brooklynn repeated, then gasped. "That must mean there's one here!"
"But... wait... if there's one here, who made it?"
"I think Wu or Hammond was experimenting with more than just dinosaurs," Darius said, folding his arms.
"This is all way too much to process..." Ben muttered as he stood up. "I'm going to take a walk with Bumpy... you all can keep talking," he said, walking away.
Kenji shook his head. "Sorry about Ben... ever since we found those new people, he doesn't trust anyone anymore. He even didn't even want to leave this place even when he had the chance."
Peter was kind of confused. "Why are all of you here anyway? Has dinosaurs infested the earth?"
"Just barely. Just this Island. It's a park. Basically a zoo for dinosaurs. Shit went wrong, and.. one or two escaped-," Kenji explained.
"More like a hundred," Darius interjected.
Peter's eyes widened. "Wow, did anyone ever think about safety?"
"Apparently not," Brooklynn replied.
Peter wanted to help but knew he needed to return to his dimension. "I'd like to help, but I really need to get back to my world. I'm... a superhero there—"
"You're a superhero?!" Kenji exclaimed.
"Well, he has powers Kenge. I'm pretty sure many of us would do something with powers, at least he's using it for good." Darius said.
Peter smiled. "New York can't... stand without me," He said.
"New York? Is your world like some parallel world to ours? Cause we have a New York here, but we don't have superheroes jumping all around" Kenji asked.
Peter shrugged. "It probably is... I don't know much about how dimensions work. All I know is that there are many strange ones." He said.
