Sunday Night HEAT: 13/9/1998
Sunday Night HEAT was live at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Massachusetts. The backstage interview with a pissed off Jeff Jarrett had pased, and the next scheduled match was Kane vs D'Lo Brown.
In the arena, D'Lo's theme hits and out he comes with Mark Henry.
"The following non-title match is scheduled for one-fall with a twenty-minute time limit." Tony Chimel announced. "Making his way to the ring, accompanied by Nation member, Mark Henry, he is the World Wrestling Federation European Champion... D'LO BROWN!"
D'Lo enters the ring and shows off his title before handing it to Mark henry who stands at ringside as Brown's theme dies down. The lights then went out, and Kane's theme played to a cheer from the crowd before the pyro exploded, and out comes the Big Red Machine with the Undertaker and the Bladewolf.
"And his opponent, accompanied by the Undertaker and the Bladewolf, weighing in at 326 lbs... KANE!" Tony Chimel announced before leaving the ring.
"They are an indestructible force, no doubt about it." JR said. "And we will never forget SummerSlam, where Mankind was thrown into the dumpster and there was Kane, his partner. And Kane drove that sledgehammer right into the helpless body of Mick Foley. And sources say that Mick Foley may never be the same again."
Kane enters the ring while Bladewolf and Undertaker remain outside. Kane raises his arms and throws them down, making fire explode from the turnbuckles as the lights return to normal and Kane's theme dies down.
"JR, could we be looking at the new World Wrestling Federation Champion in Kane?" Shane questioned.
"We'll find out in two weeks." JR said.
"Or maybe it's the Bladewolf." Shane guessed as the camera shows the Demon Wolf beside the Undertaker. "Or the Undertaker!"
"We'll find out at Breakdown." JR said.
The referee then calls for the bell to begin the match.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
Slowly, and fearfully, D'Lo enters the ring while Kane stands as still as a statue, staring at him. Kane walks over to D'Lo, who quickly avoids Kane's attempt to grab him. Kane backs D'Lo into the corner, and when D'Lo attempts to get out of it, Kane grabs him and shoves him right back into the corner. Kane lunges but D'lo ducks and backs away as Kane turns to him.
Kane continues to stalk D'Lo, who attempts to run past but Kane grabs him and throws him into the corner again, then goes for an elbow but D'Lo ducks out of the way and lands a right hand to Kane that didn't affect the big man. D'Lo hits another, to no effect.
"D'Lo giving some shots to Kane." Shane said as D'Lo lands another right hand, to which Kane didn't feel and shrugged off "And they seem to have little effect."
D'Lo goes for another right, but Kane blocks it and knocks him down with a right punch of his own.
"Oh man! he just got hammered." Shane said.
"Unmitigated power from the Big Red Machine." JR said.
D'Lo rolls out the ring and turns around only to find the Undertaker and the Bladewolf standing there.
"D'Lo Brown, he is in a dilemma." JR said.
D'Lo walks around the ring and over to Mark Henry, making it clear he didn't want to fight Kane but Henry gives him some pep talk. D'lo gets onto the ring apron and starts to enter the ring when Kane goes on the attack, landing a clubbing blow to the side. Kane pulls D'Lo into the ring and lands another right hand, dropping D'Lo to a knee. Kane then grabs D'Lo and rams his head off the top turnbuckle, then brings him over to another corner where he rams D'Lo's head off the top turnbuckle. D'Lo stumbles towards Kane who lands a big uppercut, dropping D'Lo to a knee again.
Kane pulls D'Lo to his feet, scoops him up and slams him to the mat.
"Nice slam, Kane!" Shane said.
Kane runs, bounces off the ropes and goes for a running elbow drop but D'Lo moved out of the way. Kane then sits up.
"Uh-oh, look out." JR said.
D'Lo runs, rebounds off the ropes and hits a low dropkick to Kane's chest, knocking him onto his back. D'Lo gets to his feet and mouths down at Kane, who sits up, looking right at D'Lo.
"Oooh." Shane sounded.
"Oh good Lord." JR said.
D'Lo struck Kane repeatedly at the Big Red Machine got to his feet, then gave him a little slap before he rebounds off the ropes, ducks a right and comes back with a clothesline that doesn't take Kane down.
"Oh!" Shane exclaimed.
D'Lo is frustrated that nothing is working on Kane. So he goes to the middle turnbuckle when Kane walks up and grabs him by the throat., choking him. Kane releases and scares the referee back, then whirls around and clotheslines D'Lo.
"Oh!" Shane exclaimed again.
"D'Lo just got knocked down hard." JR said. "So much power from this monster."
D'Lo stumbles to his feet, and Kane hits an uppercut, knocking him onto the ropes. Kane then Irish whips D'Lo who comes off the ropes and straight into a big boot from Kane. D'Lo stumbles to his feet and Kane runs, clotheslining D'Lo over the top rope and down to the floor.
As Kane looked out, Mark Henry got onto the apron to which Kane snapped his gaze at him. Mark Henry quickly backed down when Kane took a step towards him. Henry backed up, hands raised, when he turned... INTO BIG BOOT FROM BLADEWOLF!
"And there's Bladewolf!" JR shouted. "Bladewolf knocking Mark Henry down, as a warning, I think."
Bladewolf pulls Henry to his feet and Irish whips him directly into D'Lo.
"Here comes the Rock!" JR shouted, spotting the man.
The Rock slides into the ring with a chair in hand... AND SMACKS IT OFF THE BACK OF KANE! Kane goes down to a knee, and the Rock hits him again, sending him down
Undertaker and Bladewolf see this and quickly go after the Rock who retreats.
Back in the Ring, D'Lo attempts to take advantage but Kane grabs him by the throat and gets to his feet. However, Mark Henry attacks him from behind, causing the referee to call for the bell and the disqualification.
'Ding! Ding! Ding!'
"Mark Henry now!" JR said. "D'Lo Brown, double teaming Kane!"
The Undertaker and Bladewolf come running back, slide into the ring and attacks D'Lo and Mark henry.
"The Undertaker and the Bladewolf, coming to their brother's aid." JR said.
Kane grabs D'Lo by the throat as Undertaker and Bladewolf pound away on Mark Henry. Kane lifts D'Lo up... AND PLANTS HIM WITH A CHOKESLAM!
"Chokeslam to D'Lo!" JR shouted.
Undertaker goes to the top rope as Bladewolf lifts Henry onto his shoulder and... THEY HIT A SPIKE TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVER!
The Brothers of Destruction stand tall as Kane's theme plays The brothers then leave the ring.
And that's it for this chapter. Man, thirty chapters in and we aren't close to the end of 1998, nor in 1999 yet.
