RAW is WAR: 2/11/1998
RAW is WAR was live at the Compaq Center in Houston, Texas. The first and current match going on was DX against the Brood. X-Pac and Edge start things off. X-Pac catches Edge with a spinning heel kick, but gets caught coming off the ropes with a spinebuster. Tag to Christian, they deliver a double slam followed by a double-team wheelbarrow splash.
Christian lands a gutbuster off the shoulders for two. He eats a roundhouse kick allowing X-Pac to tag in Road Dogg. Ross says Chyna is "conspicuous by her absence" as she's handling her legal issues with Mark Henry, recovering from reconstructive surgery. Road Dogg hits the Shake Rattle and Roll for two. Christian turns things around with a jumping dropkick. Edge tags in for a side slam/reverse DDT to Road Dogg. Gunn and X-Pac EXPLODE on the Brood and a brawl gets underway between the six men.
Just then, the lights go out and the arena is plunged into darkness.
"Wait!" JR exclaimed. "We got a power outage."
Kane's theme then plays to a pop from the fans.
"Oh my God." JR dreaded.
"What?" Jerry blinked.
"That is Kane's music." JR said. "Where is he?"
OOOOOOOOWWWWHHHHOOOOOOO!
A wolf howl goes off just as the pyro explodes on the stage with Kane's music continuing to play. Kane walks out along with the Bladewolf, the two brothers making their way towards the ring with lethal intentions.
"There they come!" JR said. "The Big Red Machine and the Demon Wolf are headed to the ring!"
"Do they not realize there's a six-man tag match going on?" Jerry questioned.
"I don't think they really care, King." JR shakes his head. "They're all alone, they only have each other as allies."
As they reach the end of the ramp, Billy Gunn gets out of the ring to meet them there, throwing rights at Kane who no-sells them and retaliates with an uppercut that drops Gunn to the floor.
"Billy Gunn laid out!" JR said.
Bladewolf and Kane enter the ring, with Bladewolf grabbing X-Pac and turning him around so he can grab him by the throat and Kane grabs Edge by his throat.
"uh-oh!" JR said. "Kane's got Edge! Bladewolf has X-Pac!"
Together, the brothers lift their victims up... AND PLANT THEM WITH CHOKESLAMS!
"Dounle Chokeslams!" JR exclaimed. "Edge and X-Pac are out!"
Christian stumbles out of the corner, only for Bladewolf and Kane to both grab him by the throat.
"Kane and the Bladewolf are raising hell!" JR said.
"Look out!" Jerry shouted.
Bladewolf and Kane lift Christian up... AND PLANT HIM WITH A DOUBLE CHOKESLAM!
"God! Look at the carnage!" JR shouted. "It looks like a car wreck out here!"
Kane raises his arms up and throws them down, causing fire to explode from the turnbuckles as his theme plays and the lights go red.
"DX and the Brood have just experienced hell delivered by Kane and the Bladewolf!" JR said. Kane and Bladewolf leave the ring and start making their way to the back. "Look at the carnage! Bodies are lying everywhere! What's going to happen next here?"
It's Goldust vs Steven Regal.
As Regal throws Goldust to the floor, out comes MARLENA out to ringside – wearing a golden dress and holding a cigar. She tries to get Goldust's attention. Regal pounds Goldust in the corner with some forearm shots. Goldust finds a running bulldog for two.
As Goldust sets up Regal for Shattered Dreams... the lights go out.
"Wait a minute..." JR started.
"Now what?" Jerry asked.
"Don't tell me-" JR stopped as Kane's theme played. "Yes. Oh my..."
"What?" Jerry's eyes widened.
"That's Kane's music again." JR said.
OOOOOOOOWWWWHHHHOOOOOOO!
A wolf howl goes off just as the pyro explodes on the stage with Kane's music continuing to play. Kane walks out along with the Bladewolf, the two brothers making their way towards the ring with lethal intentions once again.
"Here they come again, for God's sakes!" JR threw a hand up. "These monsters don't know right from wrong! Kane's father, Paul Bearer has turned his back on him. Kane and Bladewolf's brother, the Undertaker, has admitted setting the fire that scarred Kane's face and orphaned Bladewolf. They only know one thing and that's destruction."
Kane and Bladewolf enter the ring, with Goldust running at them only to get a big clothesline from Bladewolf while Kane walks over to Regal and grabs him by the throat. Bladewolf pulls Goldust to his feet and grips him by the throat. Together, they lift them up and... PLANT THEM WITH CHOKESLAMS!
"Chokeslams! Double Chokeslams!" JR exclaimed.
"Look at Marlena!" Jerry pointed as Marlena climbs into the ring to check on Goldust.
Bladewolf and Kane turn their attention to her, causing her to look at them and back up fearfully. Bladewolf walks to her other side so she couldn't run.
"What are they going to do?" JR dreaded the answer.
"Don't even think about it, she's pregnant." Jerry warned.
"They don't know right from wrong." JR shakes his head.
Kane grips Marlena by her throat.
"No! No! No!" JR shouted. Kane lifts Marlena up. "Don't do that! Good God! He'll break her in half! Put her down!"
Referees and officials rush the ring, yelling at Kane to put her down. Kane does so, and Marlena is quickly taken out of there. However, Bladewolf snaps his gaze to an official, Tony Garia... AND GRABS HIM BY THE THROAT! Kane soon joins in, they lift him up and... HIT A DOUBLE CHOKESLAM!
"Garia planted!" JR shouts as the referees scatter from the ring and away from the two destructive men.
Kane flips his hair back, raises his arms and throws them down. Fire explodes from the turnbuckles again as his theme plays and the lights go red. The Bladewolf and Kane then take their leave.
The current match was Ken Shamrock vs The Rock, with Vince adding the stipulation that if the Rock doesn't beat Shamrock, then he isn't going to Survivor Series.
Rock unloads on Shamrock to start. Shamrock catches Rock with a back elbow and buries some knees into him. He hangs Rock out to dry and soaks up the boos. To the floor they go. Some ringside violence with the Rock in control. Shamrock cuts him off with a clothesline and runs Rock into the steps. They fight over to the announce table where Shamrock gives Rock a slam.
Back inside, Shamrock eggs on the crowd to boo him until Rock explodes on him with a clothesline. Shamrock comes out of nowhere with a hurracanrana and a Belly to Belly Suplex sets up the ANKLELOCK. Vince and the stooges are watching on from the ramp by the way.
Rock reaches the bottom rope, but runs into a double-KO. Rock turns over onto Shamrock for a count of 1-2-NO! Rock punches back and finds a swinging neckbreaker for another nearfall. Shamrock catches Rock for a powerslam for two. He stays on top of Rock, but Rock manages the Hurricane DDT for 1-2-NO! This crowd really wants Rock to win.
Ref Tim White gets wiped out by the Rock by mistake. Shamrock grabs a chair and that brings a smile to Vince's face. He goes to whack Rock, but Rock moves and the chair bounces off the top rope back into his own head. As Shamrock staggers up, he turns around into a slam to set up the PEOPLE'S ELBOW. YES! Rock covers, but there's no ref.
OOOOOOOOWWWWHHHHOOOOOOO!
"What?!" Jerry looks around as the lights go out.
"ooh God, don't tell me..." JR didn't want to know.
The lights remained off for another few seconds and when they came back on... THE BLADEWOLF WAS IN THE RING!
"It's the Bladewolf!" JR exclaimed.
"Ahhh!" Jerry screamed.
The Rock turns... INTO A GOOZLE!
"Rock is caught!" JR shouted. "What the hell?!"
Bladewolf lifts the Rock up... AND PLANTS HIM WITH A CHOKESLAM!
"Chokeslam! A Chokeslam to the Rock!" JR said. "The Bladewolf has been on a rampage tonight alongside his brother, Kane!"
Bladewolf eyes Shamrock, then looks up to where a now concerned Vince is, then snatches Shamrock by the throat to yank him to his feet.
"Now Bladewolf, clutching the man he faces at Survivor Series!" JR said.
Bladewolf stares directly at Vince, then lifts Shamrock up... AND PLANTS HIM WITH A CHOKESLAM!
"Chokeslam to Shamrock!" JR shouted. "More destruction by the Bladewolf!"
Bladewolf stares down at Shamrock, then at Vince before the lights go out again, and when they come back on... THE BLADEWOLF IS GONE!
The match was deemed a no-contest due to Rock and Shamrock being laid out, meaning the Rock did not win.
Later, Vince McMahon gets wheeled out and taken down to ringside over by the commentary tables by Pat Patterson, Commissioner Slaughter, Gerald Brisco, and the Big Boss Man. After Boss Man and Vince's Stooges make sure the cage is secure and the door is locked with them inside, Vince has Boss Man abuse his stooges for allowing Vince to be kidnapped and embarrassed by Stone Cold Steve Austin.
The stooges fight back because it's 3-on-1 and they are all former wrestlers. All Vince wants is their 100% allegiance and this will all end. This builds until Vince orders Boss Man to strip them of their clothing.
Stone Cold Steve Austin then runs down. He climbs over the cage wall and stomps the shit out of Boss Man. He's not here to save the stooges, he just wants him some of Boss Man. To show that Patterson is in McMahon's corner, he grabs Boss Man's nightstick and whacks Austin in the hip. Austin NO-SELLS and goes after Patterson. Boss Man starts using his nightstick on Austin until Shane McMahon shows up to get Boss Man's attention.
It looks like Boss Man is ready to wail away on Shane, but Vince calls off the Boss Man and has him get out of the ring. Vince points at Shane, but Shane gives him the bird in return.
The Undertaker's music hits and here he comes joined by Paul Bearer. He meets Austin inside the cage and they do some back and forth brawling.
"The Undertaker could've been the WWF Champion at Judgment Day if it hadn't been for Austin!" JR said as Undertaker pounds away at Austin in the corner. "The Undertaker will never forget that night! How much more can Austin take?"
"Look at McMahon!" Jerry pointed, the WWF owner was watching the beating at ringside.
As Undertaker goes to pick Austin up, the lights go out.
"What the hell?" JR said.
Kane's music hits.
"Oh my God." JR said. "Oh my God."
OOOOOOOOWWWWHHHHOOOOOOO!
A wolf howl goes off just as the pyro explodes on the stage with Kane's music continuing to play. Kane walks out along with the Bladewolf,
"Here comes Kane and the Bladewolf!" JR exclaimed. "They're coming to the ring and they're walking with purpose!"
Undertaker stares down his brothers from inside the ring, as Bladewolf and Kane walk around to where the cage door was. Kane raises his arms and throws them down, causing fire to spew from the turnbuckles and set the cage on fire. Austin attacks Undertaker from behind while Kane and Bladewolf enter and join Austin in assaulting the Phenom.
RAW is WAR goes off the air with this sight...
