DISCLAIMER: I do not own JoJo's bizarre adventure or Rising of the shield hero
Myne re-entered the shop and Naofumi didn't question why she had left the shop. Jouta approached her and introduced himself.
"Hey. Myne, right? I'm Jouta Kujo."
Jouta would normally tell someone he liked they could call him "JoJo", but despite the fact that he thinks Myne is "hot", he felt something off about her, like whenever he ran into Kira when he was disguised.
"That's a strange name."
"Why do you think it's strange?"
"Tell me, where do you come from? Your name sounds completely foreign, which would only make sense for someone like a cardinal hero."
Something then clicked in Naofumi's head, "Jouta Kujo" sounds like Japanese, which doesn't exist in this world.
"Well I guess I have strange parents. Which isn't technically lying, is it?"
And now that she mentions Jouta's strangeness, Naofumi also notices that Jouta has a high-school uniform on.
Erhard then came back with the top legendary weapons, mostly swords, and set them down on the counter. Naofumi and Myne went over to inspect them while Jouta stood back and watched the two.
"Truly magnificent."
"Woah. With these types of weapons, even a child could defeat that DIO guy."
Upon hearing what Naofumi said, Jouta became alert, remembering the fact that the cardinal heroes work under the king, thus they see DIO as an enemy. Jouta hoped he wouldn't have to fight Naofumi; He seemed like a nice guy. And then Jouta thought of his brief exchange of words with Myne.
"She seems observant, gotta be careful around her. I don't want to expose myself as someone from another world. Thinking about it, I should really get a change of clothing, but mom always said to be an ideal student, even outside school."
Just then, Naofumi was electrocuted and the sword he was holding dropped to the ground, attracting Jouta's attention.
"What happened?!"
"Naofumi, are you alright?"
"The sword just zapped me and jumped out of my hand."
"That was not supposed to happen."
Erhard picked up the sword, searching for anything wrong with it, but found nothing.
"Wait. It says here, I can't use any other weapon besides my shield."
"Says where?"
Jouta asked in confusion.
"You don't know? We heroes have this icon thing in our eyes that give us information, like a video game. It even has levels and skill trees."
"Oh, I get it. Like mine."
At this point, the fact was undeniable—Jouta was from modern Japan. Naofumi just needed a bit more information to be sure. But he wondered how Jouta could've gotten here in the first place, maybe through the waves, he could be a threat. Naofumi jumped back and readied his shield.
"MYNE, MOVE AWAY FROM JOJO!"
Myne jumped away from Jouta and grabbed one of the swords Erhard brought.
"Huh. What's going on?"
Jouta asked, ignorant to Naofumi's discovery.
"JoJo! I know you're from modern Japan! Your clothes, name, and the fact you knew what a video game was. It's obvious!"
Jouta's eyes became shaded by his hat. He was pretty impressed by Naofumi but disappointed in himself for being so sloppy. But then, Jouta started laughing loudly for an unknown reason.
"Yeah. You're right, you wanna fight me now, huh?"
Naofumi felt the sensation of fear slowly creep in, and Myne noticed.
"Don't worry, Sir Naofumi. He possesses no magical abilities. Defeating him will be child's play."
Myne said quite confidently, even though she was shaking. She couldn't sense any magic, but now, she could sense something else, something far more powerful.
"Fine then. I'll use a fraction of my power, just to give you a taste."
Myne was even more terrified now. She was wielding one of the most powerful weapons in history, and Jouta is only going to use a fraction of his power, not fazed at all. Jouta, on the other hand, was enjoying himself. You see, the reason Jouta laughed was that he had thought of a manga he read with Koichi, back in his world. There, the main character, because he didn't know his opponent's capabilities (in this case, Myne), just claimed he was going to use a fraction of his power to scare his opponent.
"You gonna attack or what!? I'm waiting."
Myne jumped forward and slashed at Jouta's waist. That was when Jouta summoned a piece of CHARMY GREEN, shaped like an emerald sword, deflecting the attack easily. Myne was pushed back and shocked; Jouta easily deflected her attack without magic, even though just holding the sword, was exhausting her.
"You see now? The power difference between me and you."
Myne jumped towards Naofumi and said something in his ear. Jouta was curious but didn't worry. The two got ready and Naofumi charged at Jouta. Jouta merely moved slightly to left, evading Naofumi's attack entirely. But, out of seemingly nowhere, Myne appears in front of Jouta, swinging her blade downwards. Jouta blocked it, but Naofumi rammed him in the back. Although it didn't hurt him in the slightest, it was enough to make him lose his balance a little, allowing Myne to slash his arm, tearing through his flesh.
"Damnit, they double-teamed me. Should've expected that. I can see their attacks clearly, but my body can't keep up with their movements."
Jouta summoned two swords in response. Prompting Naofumi and Myne to double their efforts. This time Myne rushed in. Jouta almost deflected it, but Myne jumped back and Naofumi blocked it, pushing back against Jouta, whose arm was bleeding, which weakened his push. Myne then went in full speed, slashing Jouta's legs. Jouta pushed Naofumi back and kneed him in the stomach while hitting the sword out of Myne's hand with his right arm, pointing his blade at her neck.
"If you move, I'll kill you. No, I won't."
Myne stayed still and Naofumi stayed down. Jouta started laughing again.
"Man, that was fun. It's been a while since I fought someone with my bare hands. Hey, Naofumi. Sorry for that. Did your level go up?"
Naofumi took a look at his stats and saw that he leveled up.
"Y-yeah."
"Good."
Jouta de-summoned the sword and sat down on the floor. Erhard was watching the whole time. He knew that Jouta was 'testing' the shield hero. Myne was both angered and astonished. Naofumi got up, still in a lot of pain.
"Don't you think it would have been better to just train me, instead?"
"Yeah. But remember you struck first."
"Hey, JoJo!"
Erhard called out.
"Huh?"
"I got your order."
Jouta walked past Naofumi and Myne, taking the armor and entering a changing room.
"JoJo really is something."
"I don't trust him."
"Huh?"
"His power, it's not magic, so how did he do it? Does anyone in your homeworld know how to accomplish such feats?"
"No. I don't think so."
Then, Jouta stepped out, dressed in the armor, holding his school uniform.
"It doesn't really fit your style."
"It's fine, this isn't for me, anyways."
Jouta then took off his armor, putting his school uniform back on.
"Catch you, later, shield hero."
"Wait! We have questions."
"Another time, adios."
Jouta walked through the door. Naofumi and Myne ran out the door after him but found that he had disappeared.
"JoJo!"
Jouta walked through the streets of Melromarc's castle town and down an alleyway. Jouta stopped mid-way, looking at both ends before calling out.
"Eclair!"
At that moment, a figure landed behind Jouta, frightening him a bit.
"Why'd you run out of the shop, earlier?"
"That girl with the pink hair, she is the princess of Melromarc. If she saw me, she could easily identify me."
"Is that why she was with the shield hero?"
"I doubt it. That girl is a snake; she most likely wishes to deceive him and use him for her gain."
"That sucks. He's a pretty nice guy. He's observant too; he figured out I was from another world."
"You weren't doing much of an effort to hide it."
"Still. He's not as dumb as I thought. I think we should convince him to help us."
"You think he would be willing."
"Yeah. After we tell him about the royal family."
"You mean the king and his brat."
"Right."
The two friends glared at each other, but calmed down and walked down the alley together. Jouta telling Eclair what happened after she left the shop, in perfect detail.
That night
DIO stood before Eclair and Jouta, dressed in the solar-protection armor.
"How do I look."
The armor wasn't your typical full-body metal armor. The material was softer. It was not too dissimilar from one of his outfits during Phantom Blood, but DIO didn't know that, of course. Complete with a red scarf.
"You look great."
"I agree with JoJo. It is surely a unique look."
DIO smiled in delight.
"Well, now that issue is taken care of: we should discuss your little encounter with the shield hero."
