DISCLAIMER: I do not own JoJo's bizarre adventure or Rising of the shield hero
Darkness...for a long time, all it knew was darkness. Ever since its formation 300 million years ago, its life was confined to a dark little space where it felt nothing, and nothing happened. It was not even aware of its own existence, until the essence of a newborn child fused into it, creating one being. This fusion re-contextualized the nothingness, the child experienced all those years with human senses in a flash. Over those years, the child could sense everything around her, but was left stationary. This culminated in a baby in the body of a twenty-year-old with memories from 300 million years ago. ME! I have memories of being a rock now!
"...without hesitation, the warrior ended the wicked king's life with one swift blow..."
I slowly opened my eyes and I saw the origin of the sound. The voice belonged to a blonde man with large muscles who was seated on a fancy-looking chair, reading a book. I looked at him as I sat up from what I thought was a bed, a huge bed. I looked down at myself and was confused to see I had skin, light skin, all over. A huge white t-shirt and black shorts covered me. The blonde man noticed me and put his book down, his golden eyes examining every inch of me.
"Did you hear me?"
I nodded my head.
"I am DIO. And you are Senshi Foo."
He pointed to himself, then to me. DIO? What's that, is it a type of rock? I'm a lump of coal so I didn't know what he meant by Senshifoo. I tilted my head in obvious confusion. DIO picked up on this and explained his words.
"They are our names. Words that identify us as individuals."
I gave him a look of wonder, what does Senshifoo mean? And again, DIO seemingly read my mind.
"Senshi means fighter and Foo is your family name."
Family? I pointed at the man, then at myself.
"You understood language quite quickly. And yes, I suppose you and I are related. I did bring you into this world."
Before I could process his words, a ridiculously tall woman with strong muscles dashed into the room so quickly that I only saw her when she stood still. She had a big fluffy tail and animal ears.
"DIO! Why didn't you call me!? She's awake!"
She said, walking up to me and examining my body. Her hands were soft, yet her grip was impossibly strong. I saw this as an attack and got scared. I instinctively tried to push her away, but she barely moved an inch. Though after seeing my reaction, she withdrew herself.
"Sorry. I'm Raphtalia."
I looked at the woman in awe of her physique and strength. I pointed at her, DIO, and myself.
"F...fa...family."
My first word stunned the two. Raphtalia looked away shamefully.
"Family..."
DIO narrowed his eyes, giving me a stern look. I was intimidated by him and looked down to avoid his look. A deadly silence fell upon the three of us.
"Family, hmm."
"Um, I got you something," Raphtalia broke the silence, presenting a poorly stitched-together teddy bear.
"I, uh, made this for you. Thought you would like a toy or something," She explained. I could feel the warmth radiating from the bear, a warmth that made me smile with joy. I grabbed the bear, though a bit too hard, it tore as I took it. I felt my eyes well up, and the warmth disappeared just as quickly as it appeared, replaced by a deep emptiness.
"I...I..." I tried to apologize, but I could barely speak.
"Shh...it's fine, it's fine."
She sat by my side and hugged me, comforting me with more of that warmth. I hugged her back as hard as I could.
"Ah, you're pretty strong."
DIO's eyebrow raised at her comment. He stood up, revealing his full height, slightly taller than Raphtalia.
"Senshi, follow me," DIO walked towards the door. I looked to Raphtalia who shrugged and we hurriedly got off the bed and caught up to DIO. While we walked, I stared at Raphtalia's ears. I jumped up and pulled on them.
"NYA!"
I pulled my hand away and backed up. I raised my hands in surrender with a nervous smile. Raphtalia smiled at me and placed her hand on my shoulder.
"It's okay, just, please don't do that. It hurts."
I nodded and reached up to pat her head to make the pain go away.
"Thanks, I feel much better."
"Senshi."
DIO pulled my attention, looking back slightly annoyed by my behaviour. I rushed to his side.
"I'm sure you are confused. Suddenly, being born with incredible potential."
I nodded, walking beside him.
"To truly understand it, I suppose we should put it to the test first, hm?"
I confusedly looked at DIO as a cross from him whizzed past my head. I froze mentally, but my body moved on its own, grabbing his arm and pulling him down, using my other hand to uppercut his diaphragm. He saw my movements clearly and caught my fist. He pulled my fist and kneed me.
"Ouch!" I exclaimed, falling to one knee.
"You recognized the speed difference between us and grabbed me, aiming for my diaphragm to hinder my mobility. You assessed the situation and developed a counter within a fraction of a second. A fighter's intuition."
"DIO!" Raphtalia angrily shouted. DIO was distracted for a split second, I took advantage of that and tried to kick his leg from my lower position.
"Muda!"
A golden fist hit my stomach and sent me into the wall behind me, denting the wall with a human shape. My mind stopped for a second to comprehend the speed and power behind the punch that appeared out of nowhere. I fell to the ground, coughing. Raphtalia ran to me in worry.
"Are you okay!?"
I nodded, a smile on my face. That was exhilarating! The way my heart pumped blood across my body, the way time slowed down, the way the wind shifted with every move, my nerves have never been set on fire like that ever!
"Don't worry, I was careful. Even a human could heal from that, let alone a vampire."
My eyes widened hearing that, did he just say I'm a...vampire! What's that!?
"Part vampire, I would assume."
DIO continued walking with one hand on his hip. I witnessed as my hand fixed itself, the colour turning back to normal in seconds. I looked at DIO in awe. If we're related and I'm a vampire, then...he's one too. I wanted to fight him even more! To feel that rush and beat him!
"D...DI...DIO!"
He stopped and slowly looked over his shoulder, a small smile on his face.
*TEMPUS EST MEUM*
I felt my body suddenly teleported to a different part of the mansion. I was seated on a gold chair with white cushions at a long table. Raphtalia sat across from me with her arms crossed and at the end of the table sat DIO, a glass of wine in his hand.
"Huh!?"
DIO chuckled at my confusion.
"All in due time, for now, eat."
On the table in front of me was a metal tray with various foods. Immediately I dug in, devouring everything before me until the tray was clean. Finally, now I can have the main course! I took hold of the tray and held it up, opening my mouth widely before crushing it and shoving it in. I chewed loudly, tasting each metal within the alloy. Iron, Carbon, Chromium, and some others were present.
"S-Senshi?" Raphtalia's voice shook as she spoke, her eyes wide.
"Hm?" I looked at her with a curious look.
"How...is it?" DIO asked while trying to contain his laughter. I nodded my head to show it tasted good enough. It wasn't the best, but it had its charm. I then pointed at Raphtalia's tray, she had barely touched it.
"I'm...fine," She slowly pulled her tray closer with a nervous smile.
"Interesting...take this, once you've read through all of it, find me outside. We have much to discuss, Senshi Foo."
DIO tossed the book he was reading to me, I caught it and put it in my mouth.
"I said READ!"
"GREEN EMERALD OVERDRIVE!"
*MAX LEVEL BOOST: 58 to 63*
[Charmy Green] was infused with Hamon, boosting its power and speed.
"This overdrive increases [Charmy Green]'s stats along with Hamon properties, unlike when I fought DIO the first time, and all it did was give an electric effect."
The stand remained deadly silent as it rocketed toward this Wave's Boss, the Queen of the inter-dimensional bees.
"URYA!"
Jouta's strongest punch yet, a bright green right cross aimed for the Queen's face.
"Don't. Touch. My. Face."
The bee held up one finger and stopped the punch.
"URYA!"
The stand continued its assault, launching a high kick followed by a roundhouse and a barrage of back kicks. The Queen blocked or dodged all of [Charmy Green]'s attacks.
"Time to flip the switch," Jouta's breathing rhythm changed and so did the Hamon surrounding [Charmy Green].
"GREEN PHOENIX OVERDRIVE!"
The aura of the stand became hot and spread out, the stand let out a mighty shout, taking advantage of the wide range of this overdrive to attack using wind currents created by the heat whenever [Charmy Green] threw a punch. This created a sort of double punch as the air hit the Queen just after each punch, doubling the overall output.
"Hmph, smart for a human," A white mist began to surround the Queen's body and as she blocked [Charmy Green]'s punches with her finger, the stand's fiery aura slowly died down, losing its advantage.
"GREEN FLAME OVERDRIVE!" Jouta wasted no time, seeing that she had somehow countered his Hamon.
Jouta's spirit lost its wide aura but gained a more dense aura of heat around its fists and feet.
"URYA URYA URYA URYA URYA!"
The stand threw quick punches and kicks with full power, keeping the Queen on her toes, or at least that was the plan. The Queen blocked and evaded everything and the white mist stayed around her, weakening Jouta's flames. The emerald ghost spun to make its next punch unpredictable, the Queen was unfazed by the tactic, ready to defend against it.
"Poof!" Jouta said with a cheeky grin.
[Charmy Green]'s Hamon glow disappeared, the stand's body invisible to the naked eye without it. This slightly annoyed the Queen, but she remained on the ready. Fists flew across the still air, a barrage of punches from all angles; two jabs to either side of the Queen's face, a hook into a powerful cross.
"What did I say!?" The Queen menacingly looked down at Jouta, her finger blocking every single punch.
"Can she see [Charmy Green]!?"
"HAMON OVERDRIVE!"
[Charmy Green]'s fist crackled with yellow electrical energy that flowed from it to the Queen's finger. The Queen seemed to not even notice the technique, her eyes focused on Jouta.
"What the hell!? Her body nullified my Hamon!"
*WHOOSH!*
The Queen appeared in front of Jouta, her arms crossed while she hovered above the ground. Jouta got spooked and fell on the ground, his stand disappearing back into his soul.
"Woah lady, personal space!" Jouta grabbed a handful of snow and threw it at the Queen who stood still, not worried in the slightest. However, the snow exploded with Hamon, the Royal Bee closed her eyes calmly.
"AZURE FLAME OVERDRIVE!"
Jouta jumped up and attacked the being before him, who casually tanked everything he threw at her.
"Senshi! You know you can help, right!?"
"I thought you said you would teach me something!?"
"HELP!"
The Queen grew tired of Jouta, so she backhanded the Joestar. Jouta fell to his knees and hands as blood spewed from his mouth. The Queen lifted her foot over him, ready to kill him now.
"I have seen enough."
Her foot came down with more power than Jouta could ever muster, it would surely kill him instantly.
"Hurricane kick!"
Senshi, now in human form, kicked the Queen's neck, this annoyed the Bee enough for her to spin around and kick through Senshi's abdomen. The child of DIO shot her plasma beam of dense air at the Queen's face.
"You humans truly dislike my face."
The beam engulfed the Queen's head, but the attack had no effect, the Bee's hair covered her face and seemingly protected her against it.
"Uh oh!"
Senshi's body was ripped in half as the Queen removed her leg. The Royal grabbed Senshi's face and held her upper half up.
"You fools, I have counters to all your abilities. Did I not tell you? I embody my hive. And they have informed me of all your tricks, as well as how to end you."
The Queen applied pressure to destroy Senshi's brain completely, something even a vampire would not survive.
"URYA!"
[Charmy Green] came behind the Queen, fazing through her body and punching her internal organs.
"HAMON OVERDRIVE!"
Yellow electricity flowed directly into the Bee's body. The powerful Boss' body became limp and she dropped to her knees with her arms slumped to her sides. Senshi, now free from her death grip, healed her body back together.
"Blood Blades!"
"Azure Flame Overdrive!"
The two attacked at the same time, aiming for the Queen's neck. The Royal countered them both, chopping Senshi's Blood Blades in half with her black claws then grabbing the broken-off piece and stabbing it into Jouta's leg. Standing up into a back kick to Senshi and pulling Jouta's leg up, making him fall on his back.
"H-human, could you do that again?" The Wave Boss looked at Jouta slightly flustered.
"I hit her with enough electricity to turn DIO to ash, and she...liked it!?"
Jouta ignored her request and melted the piece of solid blood in his leg. He rolled backwards and sprung up into the air.
"SCARLET PHOENIX OVERDRIVE!"
He used the heat to stay in the air again, at the same time summoning [Charmy Green] in tendril form to try to attack the Queen, but the bee flew around them somehow, despite their invisibility to regular sight.
"How's she doing it?" Jouta examined her movements as she flew up to him.
"Maybe she has a stand?" A voice echoed through his mind.
"Not likely, but...gah, I don't know," He responded to it psychically.
"Usually the answer is simpler than you think, so don't worry, just fight!"
Senshi got down on one knee and twisted her top half, her muscles tightened before she was launched like a spring. In a fraction of a second, Senshi made her way in front of the Queen.
"Meteor Fist!"
Her fists moved so fast with so much power that they left a streak of light and burned the air in front of them. A barrage of these punches missed the Queen completely, her speed too much to overwhelm.
"Get out of my way, human!"
The Royal threw her first punch, one that collided with Senshi's arms as she crossed them in defence.
"This feeling, it's strong, it's primal, it is pain!"
The Queen withdrew her fist quickly, moving back to examine it. Her hand was burned from coming in contact with Senshi's arms, the same arms that moved similar to a meteor through air, making them just as hot.
"1649 degrees Celsius, enough to melt iron," Senshi boasted.
"When did you get so smart?" Jouta asked telepathically.
"I'm a rock! I know these things!" Senshi visibly grinned saying that.
"I underestimated you, I will not make that mistake again!" The Queen proclaimed, the white mist grew and covered the Boss entirely, leaving only a faint shadow of her figure visible.
"OUCH!"
Senshi felt her arm disconnect from her body, a tendril of whirling white mist striking her.
"You are not the only beings who can manipulate air," The figure spoke from within the cloud of mist. Her hand made a quick, short chopping motion and the mist shifted and formed a long tendril aimed at Senshi's head.
"Jouta!"
Senshi caught her disconnected arm with her foot and kicked it. The Joastar understood what she was thinking and [Charmy Green] punched the arm into the cloud. The arm entered the cloud and exploded in a flash of yellow energy. The explosion disturbed the flow of the mist, creating an opening and saving Senshi.
"EMERALD FINGER!"
An emerald shot from [Charmy Green] like a bullet, using the opening in the cloud and hitting the Queen's neck. This made the Queen cough, her breathing disturbed. The stability of the cloud weakened and it dispersed.
"Just like I thought, that mist is carbon dioxide you were exhaling, that's how you put out my flames. You controlled it with your wings."
"Wings?" Senshi asked from the ground.
"[Charmy Green] has crazy accurate precision, passed down from my dad. I saw the thin slits on her body, her wings are super tiny, but all of them working together let her fly and move the air around her."
"Woah, JoJo, you're smart!"
"He is dead!"
The Queen angrily flew to Jouta, but as soon as her fingers were inches from his face, her body stopped.
"Another thing I got from my dad was biology. The brain is the key, all it takes is a little tickling of the motor nerve to do this."
The Boss felt her hand move on its own and slap her.
"How dare you! How did you evenー"
"Get my stand in you without you detecting it? Simple, I figured out you were using air to detect its movements and make out its shape, so I just moved...slowly," Jouta shrugged. The Bee almost had an outburst of anger, but that would be uncivilized.
"Hm. Jouta Joestar, you have surpassed my expectations, and for that, I will make your demise quick."
Jouta lifted an eyebrow, and the Queen grew four extra arms, one of them grabbing her head and ripping it off.
"WHY!?"
Without the brain being connected to her body, the Queen could now attack freely, kicking Jouta to the earth below. She reconnected her head, glueing it with some yellow substance.
"The more limbs, the less control you have individually. My kind is not foreign to losing a head momentarily and honey promotes healing."
Jouta coughed painfully, his impact breaking something. He stood up slowly, refusing to give up.
"Hamon doesn't do too bad," He took deep breaths in an attempt to heal himself.
"Hmph," The Queen lifted her open palm to the sky, a disk of honey whirling above it. She threw the disk casually, it hardened mid-flight, spinning toward Jouta.
"[Charmy Green]!"
Jouta commanded his stand to kick up the snow on the ground.
"HAMON OVERDRIVE!"
He injected Hamon into the snow, causing each flake to burst into liquid form. The water fell like rain, and the Queen became wet and lost her ability to fly. She nearly fell to the ground, but before she did, the slits closed and she grew two large insect wings.
"I could never touch this disgusting planet!" When the bee looked back to her prey, they had disappeared.
"I despise the feeling of water, I am now partially blind."
The Queen now had to rely on another sense of hers to find her targets. She raised her nose to the air and smelled the various pheromones lingering from Jouta and Senshi. The smell became stronger and stronger with time until she felt a low rumble beneath her.
"This scent, it is of excitement, not of fear."
"Jouta?"
"Yeah."
"Why are we hiding?"
"We are not."
"Then, why are we underground?"
The two were currently within a sealed-off small cave-like space [Charmy Green] created. Being so close to a coal mine, the mountain naturally contains large quantities of igneous rock, which does possess air between its molecules. Bubbles of air were trapped within the mountain which allowed the two to breathe.
"Because, my dear little Senshi, I have a plan!"
"Okay, before we do that, gimme a sec."
Senshi was holding a long bone and trying to fit it onto her stump. Her arm had survived the Hamon.
"Oh, you can't just regenerate a new one?"
"No, silly! Vampires can only heal themselves back together. Limbs and organs are pretty complex, so we need a ton of blood to create them from scratch."
"Sorry about that."
"No worries, just need to...there!"
She forcibly shoved the remnant of her arm into her stump. Despite the odd positioning, the arm began to heal, offsetting Jouta.
"Does your plan include fighting!?" Her question snapped Jouta out of his haze.
"Yes, but I'm going to need you to answer one simple question: are you actually a rock!?"
"One hundred and ten thousand, thousand percent!"
"What type?"
"Coal! Well, actually diamond."
"You make that sound like a downgrade."
"Let me show you!"
Senshi punched her fist through the wall next to her and removed it, revealing a bloody fist.
"This is Chimera blood!"
Senshi absorbed it and her hand gained scales.
"Holy shit," Jouta said amazed.
"I copied the blood's DNA, but DIO says I'm not focused enough to keep it."
"That's incredible! How does that even work?"
Senshi was elated to have someone actually invested in her this much, she did not hesitate to reveal to Jouta everything she knew of her power and origins.
Flashback
I found DIO standing on the roof of the mansion, looking towards the sunrise, his hands behind his back.
"Not long ago, I had awoken to this very same sunrise, it had frightened me, but now," DIO held out his palm to the sun, "only a month later, I see it as another obstacle to overcome," He closed his palm with force.
"When your aunt approached me with a newborn infant that refused to die, that declared she wanted to live, I had to."
DIO reopened his palm, revealing blood.
"I gave you my blood, it saved you, as well as brought your body to its prime. However, that was not enough, so I gave you something that would provide you with the knowledge and speciality to thrive."
I walked closer and stood beside DIO, listening to him attentively.
"My blood is a permanent fixture in you, but the crystal formation of carbon replacing your DNA has an infinite number of possible combinations. Diamonds are constructed in such an organised manner, that data can be stored within them. Your very DNA can hold the data of any living organism for a possibly indefinite amount of time, allowing you to alter your anatomy to a certain level."
DIO outstretched his hand and a blackbird flew over. DIO grabbed the bird gently, it seemed at peace in his hands. Even when he killed it. Its blood dripped from its corpse. I couldn't help but be drawn to it, slowly reaching out to take the bird from DIO.
"Now focus that hunger you feel, don't let it control you, control it."
I did what DIO told me and my fingers sunk into the corpse and drained the blood from it. I felt it run through my veins and suddenly my body grew with power.
"Ow!"
I dropped the bird, feeling the sun's heat increase dramatically and burn me. DIO quickly stood in front of me, his shadow shielding me from the sun.
"Concentrate!"
I struggled immensely, falling to my knees. DIO stood over me menacingly, looking down on me.
"Useless."
He moved his arm and a single beam of sunlight pierced my hand.
"Ah!"
DIO grew irritated by my screams of pain, he slowly moved out of the way of the sun, the beams burning me viciously.
"So much for creating the ultimate lifeform," DIO said nonchalantly, walking away from me.
My body was being vaporized from the inside out, my skin had cracks that glowed as vapour raised from them.
"DIO," I said weakly, fear washing over me.
"Strength dominates the world, dear."
I felt heartbroken and angry towards DIO, but then I realized that it was my own weakness that put me in this situation. I smiled, thank you DIO, now I have an obstacle to overcome.
"DIO!" Raphtalia jumped onto the roof with a sword in her hand.
"Hm?" He responded with innocent confusion.
"What's happening to Senshi!"
"She is merely enjoying the sunrise, isn't that right?"
Raphtalia and DIO watched as my body altered, two long bone structures sprouting from my back. These bones become covered with black feathers. I stood up calmly, the sun's effect on me diminished entirely.
"Yeah, it's pretty warm out here, wanna fight?"
