Hermione made her way to the familiar gargoyle statue that guarded the entrance to Professor Dumbledore's office. As she approached, she noticed that McGonagall, Snape, and a young girl with striking green hair were already there, waiting. Who was that girl? Hermione had never seen her before. Why was she present with the group of Professors?

As she approached the group, the girl turned to her and greeted her with a friendly smile. Hermione couldn't help but notice her unconventional style. She wore a long, flowing green dress made of a vibrant fabric that seemed to shift in the light, and her handbag was unlike any Hermione had ever seen before. It was made of a material she couldn't quite place and had the initials "N.S." embroidered on it in silver thread.

Hermione's eyes turned to McGonagall. Why had she disappeared in the dungeon earlier? And why was she acting as if nothing had happened?

She decided to observe McGonagall's behavior closely, looking for any signs of distress or anxiety. But the professor's demeanor was as calm and collected as ever, and she seemed to be completely focused on the task at hand.

Snape, meanwhile, was eyeing Hermione with his usual disdain. It was like being in the presence of a venomous snake, ready to strike at any moment. She tried to keep her composure, but she couldn't help feeling a sense of unease around him. Snape was notorious for his harsh treatment of Gryffindor students, and Hermione had never been on his good side.

As she made her way towards Dumbledore's desk, she could still feel Snape's gaze following her. It was like being trapped in a cage with a predator, waiting for the right moment to attack. She kept her eyes focused on Dumbledore, trying to block out Snape's intimidating presence.

Dumbledore greeted Hermione warmly but with a hint of concern. "Ah, Ms. Granger. It's always a pleasure to see you, but I can't say I'm thrilled about the reason for your visit."

Hermione couldn't help but feel a twinge of apprehension. What could be so important that Dumbledore had summoned her, along with McGonagall, Snape, and a stranger she had never met before?

Dumbledore turned his attention to McGonagall and Snape, and with a nod, gestured for them to leave.

McGonagall gave her a small, almost imperceptible nod, before making her way out of the office, followed by Snape. The young girl with green hair still stood there, silent and observant, clutching onto her unusual handbag.

Dumbledore wasted no time in getting down to business. "I wanted to bring a case to your attention, Ms. Granger. A problem that might be of interest to you, Harry, and Ron. Although it's not terribly dangerous, so I thought you could handle it on your own."

Hermione furrowed her brow in confusion. What could be so unthreatening that Harry and Ron didn't need to be involved?

Dumbledore looked at her confused face, "I understand that Harry and Ron are likely occupied with their quidditch practice, but if you feel that you would benefit from their assistance, you are more than welcome to invite them to join you." His voice was calm and measured, but there was a glint in his eye that told Hermione that this was more than just a simple task.

Hermione asked, "What is it, Professor?"

Dumbledore continued, "You see, all of the Boggarts have suddenly disappeared. We don't know where they've gone or what's happened to them."

Hermione's mind raced as she tried to process the information. Boggarts were shape-shifting creatures that could take on the form of one's greatest fear. But why would they all disappear at once? And what did it mean?

Noticing Hermione's hesitation, Dumbledore added, "I know it doesn't sound like much, but it's an unusual occurrence nonetheless. And I think you'll find that there's more to this than meets the eye."

Hermione nodded thoughtfully, her mind already whirring with theories and possibilities. "But why am I the one you've chosen to investigate this, Professor?" she asked.

Dumbledore smiled. "Well, I think you're perfectly suited to the task, Ms. Granger. And besides, Professor Snape is preoccupied with a matter related to the dungeons at the moment."

Hermione felt a twinge of curiosity about what Snape could be up to in the dungeons. Ever since they had started their sixth year at Hogwarts, Snape had been even more unpleasant than usual towards her and her friends. It was as if he were hiding something, and was it somehow related to Fleur's captivity?

But then at the same time, Hermione couldn't help but feel a sense of relief that she wouldn't have to work with Snape on this particular case. But then, she remembered the green-haired girl who was still standing there, looking at her expectantly.

Dumbledore noticed Hermione's gaze and said, "Ah, yes. Allow me to introduce you to your partner on this mission. This is Daphne Scamander."
