The sun was shinning through the window when Tess woke up. She laid in bed for awhile, then reached for her phone to call her voicemail. There was message concerning a medication that needed to be picked up. It was her allergy medication, she sometimes had seasonal allergy's. Tess watched some TV for a bit, the news was on and the was a serious concern over the amount of shopping that was getting done this summer. Apparently there was a concern if brands were going to be limited soon.
After getting ready for the day, Tess went down stairs to see what Sahara was doing today. Sahara was cooking and invited Tess to sit down. Tess sat down and had breakfast, then Sahara asked if she would like to visit her brother with her today. Sahara's brother was target shooting for a contest he would be in. Tess replied that she would, and said she would be ready in 5 minutes. When they got to Sahara's brother Reid's house, he was outside with his friends shooting at a billboard. The billboard looked pretty impressive, it had lines that overlapped and the holes were huge. Tess sat down to watch the five obstacle set up, and when someone asked if she wanted to try, Tess replied with a yeah. After going over where the group was standing she held the object so it weighty at the bottom, and took the shot. The shot shot itself was toward the end of the board, and that was only practice she did that day. It was fun but one time was enough, after a few hours at Reid's house, Tess needed to get home for the party at Seth's that Kate had invited her to.
After getting home and going through her closet, Tess decided to wear shorts, with a halter tank, and packed her bathing suit for the pool. When her phone range, it was Kate, her and Riley would be there in a bit. When the car pulled up, Tess went outside to meet them. She said hello to both Kate and Riley, and got into the back seat. Her and Kate took turns with the front seat and it was Kate's turn. Tess asked Kate if she brought her swimming suit, Kate replied yes and that Riley brought his also. Tess told them she had shot a gun at Sahara's brother's today, and Riley joked and asked if she was feeling well, because she said that guns were not her thing. Tess replied she changed her mind and that teenagers did that naturally. Kate told them her Dad was home from his business trip and he had traveled to New Mexico, Kate had wished she knew where he was going before he had left, because Kate liked the freedom New Mexico offered. Kate told them that you could drive for miles with just dessert, and she exclaimed that only the cactus was the scenery. She also said it would be hard for Tess to imagine a land with only cactus, since the large green scenery Arizona had was packed. They seen Cactus's in Arizona but they weren't grown alone. Tess smiled, she had told them that New Mexico, was where she was from, but she was too young to remember.
After arriving at the party, Riley took off to hang with the boys. Tess and Kate went to the balloon water war that was going on. It looked like the team with the couples were winning. The last balloon was thrown and they couples team won. Tess and Kate went to hear the story's that were being told around the refreshment tent. A boy was telling the crowd that he was flying over Roswell and a strange light had appeared. The light was described as a bunch of circles. The he said his cousins father had a experience with museum he was help manage in Roswell, a artifact was beeping excessively. They crowd were in awe, someone replied dude we have to go there this summer. Then someone else screamed, yes all of us need to. Everyone started to laugh, Tess didn't know if she believed the story, but it was a interesting story. After leaving the refreshment table, Tess and Kate decided to go for a swim. The pool was packed and they start to play, don't drop the ball. The first game lasted for about 17 minutes, someone timed it.
While they were waiting for the cook out food to be cooked, Riley came over. Tess asked if he had fun with he boys, Riley replied yes, they watched the football players greatest moments. Riley had played for the first two quarters of school, but had dropped out after. He was going back next year, he had joked that he didn't want to show his best moves to soon. After eating and cleaning up a bit, it was getting dark and the camp fire was starting. The joints were also starting to be passed around, the legal age was 18, but every one had older brothers who didn't mind helping out with the party's. Tess sat with Kate and Riley and listened to the stories about how the woods grew to adapt to busier crowds, since the were kids. Tess was feeling relaxed and while leaning her head on Riley's shoulder, she was dozing off. Tess stayed awake for another story of earthquakes and the effects they have on pools. She heard Kate shake her awake and said that a bunch on them were sleeping in the pool house. There were about 30 lounge chairs in there and Tess said yeah she would stay. After texting Sahara that she was staying at Kate's, Tess followed Riley and Kate to the pool house. They found a comfy 3 person lounge chair. Riley and Kate were on the edge seat with Tess in the middle, Tess drifted off seeing the star from the roof window.
