The week that school let out was here. Tess was at home getting ready for school. Riley and Kate would be there soon. There was a community picnic for the high school kids and their parents. They had the dance last week, it went off good. The gym looked like the white flower decor they wanted, white paper flowers streamers with flowers, and flower big hanging objects. At the dance the had a option to sing along as a group to a line of songs, there was punch and snacks from one the bakery's in town, and there was a track of favorite music choices.
Riley and Kate pulled in and Tess went out to get in the car. They started talking about the camping trip coming up. It was a few week trip and about 14 more kids from school were going with them. They would drive from Arizona to Roswell. The would check out the museum that their friends at the party were talking about, and also the desert that Zack flew over. Once at school Tess went to class, they were preparing for the kids next year to take their place in the class, and the teacher mentioned that if you were assigned to the welcome the new grade program, that a short description of your time would be passed to the student. Tess had a few more classes than lunch, She sat with Kate and Riley and like last time, she warmed Kate's bagel. Everyone was excited for the summer to start and had a cheer for the coming awesome months.
After school Tess went home to go swimming. She stayed in the pool for awhile then went inside to do more research on Roswell. Tess emailed the museum in Roswell to see what the workers had to say about the artifacts they had. The response that Tess got was that a lot of their devices beep, but nothing that is not staged has happened. Tess had diner than got ready for bed as usual. As she was falling asleep, she said something in a language, she didn't know she used. It was too late though and she was sleeping.
The community picnic was spread out through a few blocks and there was also a small parade that the football team had planned. Tess, Kate, and Riley walked through the vendors. Tess had tried the candy apple and it was very sweet. The were a few rides set up. Kate wanted to try circular ride that looked like a UFO, after getting on the ride the only thing keeping the from falling in the middle was gravity. The whole rider platform was shaking. They made it through, them played a few games. At the football field they were playing a game where you were blind folded than asked to find your partner in the game. Tess actually found that easy, she found Riley in 15 steps, and no mistakes.
After getting home, Tess saw that Nasado was there. Nasado greeted her and let her know that they had achieved a big milestone at the navy base in testing rare material. Nasado wanted to gain a higher reaction for a possible placement of there civilization. Nasado wanted the best of society that was left after Kavars takeover to be able to rebuild. Nasado told Tess that he was able to keep in contact with members of their home since the crash. Although they were out of place, mostly they were safe and well cared for. Tess replied with a praise for his goals being reached. Nasado also asked what she had been doing, not too busy he hoped, he wanted her to keep a open mind about the future. Tess said her good nights and headed for bed. Like last night Tess had fallen asleep using another language.
