Roman and Seth rolled up behind Florrie's car. She was waiting for them out on the road a short distance from the address she had sent. They got out of the car and walked up to her.
"This way," Florrie said.
Roman and Seth walked down the road with Florrie. She turned into a private road with tall trees planted on both sides.
"By the way, some of your friends are here," Florrie said.
"What do you mean?" Seth asked.
Florrie stopped and pointed at the police car parked next to two other cars that could only belong to Finn and Liv.
"That's Damian and Rhea's car," Roman said.
"Rhea called in sick today. Damian is alone," Seth said.
"Now that I think about it, Damian has a way of disappearing sometimes. Rhea never knows where he went or he goes missing on days she called in sick," Roman said. "Like today."
"Damian is the only traitor," Seth said.
"So we got three people in there. Finn, Liv and Damian," Roman looked at Florrie. "Unless there's something you aren't telling us."
"No surprises as far as I know," Florrie said.
Roman pulled his gun and looked at Seth. Seth sighed and pulled his gun as well.
"Guess we're going in," Seth said. "Are you using us to take down Finn?"
"Yes, I am," Florrie said honestly. "But you're not going in. They're coming out."
"What's your plan?" Roman asked.
Florrie didn't answer. Instead she sprinted towards the three cars and jumped up to stand on the hood of the police car.
"Florrie!" Roman hissed lowly. "Get back here!"
"What the fuck is she doing?" Seth asked.
"Finn!" Florrie yelled loudly. "Get the fuck out here!"
Roman and Seth hid behind two trees and watched the house. The door opened and Finn, Liv and Damian stepped outside. Florrie held up her phone.
"Hi, husband. You look good for someone supposedly dead and buried in my garden," Florrie said.
"What do you want?" Finn asked.
"I took pictures of the nice police car parked here. I'm about to send them to Roman and Seth. You know, the two cops Liv has been lying to," Florrie said.
Damian and Finn both drew their guns while Liv giggled.
"You're so dead!" Liv laughed.
"She's mine," Finn looked at Damian. "You're gonna have to explain it if you miss a bullet in your gun."
Damian nodded and Finn looked at Florrie again.
"What's stopping me from killing you before you hit send?" Finn asked.
"What's stopping me from sending it before you kill me?" Florrie asked.
"What do you want? Do you want us to get back together? You know the deal. Get rid of the prenup so you can't fuck me over in case you change your mind again. I fucking earned that money by being with you for so long," Finn said.
Florrie grinned at Finn's anger. There was a time they had been madly in love and he willingly had signed a prenup. It was before she knew how cruel he was and how many people he had hurt.
"I want a divorce," Florrie said.
"Never!" Finn screamed.
"Guess I'm sending the pictures then," Florrie said.
Florrie looked at her phone and a loud gunshot sounded. Roman and Seth watched as Florrie fell backwards and cracked the windshield on the police car.
"No!" Roman screamed.
Damian looked towards the trees and opened fire. Roman and Seth answered Damian's fire. Finn, Liv and Damian all dropped dead one by one. Roman sprinted over to Florrie with Seth right behind him.
"Florrie?" Roman asked. "Fuck!"
Florrie made a low sound of pain. Roman unzipped her jacket and looked at the bullet proof vest she was wearing underneath.
"You wicked woman!" Roman chuckled. "You fooled me."
"And me," Seth said.
"Finn always said he aims for the heart. He wants people dead right away. Headshots are only for cops," Florrie said. "Fuck, it hurt to land."
"Let me help you up," Roman said.
Roman gently helped Florrie up from the car and checked her over. She appeared to be fine. She would get some bruises but they would fade soon enough. She looked over at the three dead people and smiled sadly.
"I know you don't believe me but I never wanted it to end like this. I just wanted a divorce and for him to leave me alone," Florrie said.
"I believe you," Roman said.
"Me too," Seth said. "What do we do now? Call it in or something else? No one knows we went out here. We're in trouble once they find out we acted on our own."
"I would offer for you to bury them in my garden," Florrie said.
Roman and Seth looked at Florrie and started laughing. She cracked a smile at both men.
"We're calling it in," Roman said. "We're gonna take our ass chewing like grown men. By the end of the day, they will understand. We knew someone was a traitor but we didn't know who or how many. We couldn't trust anyone."
Seth nodded at Roman. He knew his partner was right. They needed to do the right thing and call it in.
"And then we're getting you to the hospital for a checkup," Roman looked at Florrie. "Just in case. I know you're probably fine but I won't rest until I know for sure."
"Aye-aye captain," Florrie said.
"And once the dust is settled, I would like to take you out on a date," Roman said.
Florrie tilted her head and smiled widely at him.
"Lunch at your place next week? Saturday again?" Florrie asked. "We never got to finish the movie."
"I'll make more than sandwiches this time," Roman said.
"Don't push yourself too hard. I can eat almost anything as long as it's not liver," Florrie said.
Roman laughed and nodded his head.
"No liver. Noted," Roman said.
"Can I come this time?" Seth asked.
"No," Roman answered.
"Why not?" Seth looked from Roman to Florrie. "Oh, right! It's a date. Don't mind me. I'll be at home with my boring toast."
Roman reached over and ruffled Seth's hair.
"Enough talk. We need to get on with this day or we'll end up sleeping out here," Roman said. "Call it in."
