Ok, so I'm gonna shorten the fights in this chapter while trying my best to explain some of the lore of the MK world.

Please do correct me if I get things wrong because I'll be honest, I know very little of the MK lore so if I get some things wrong, don't go too into me about it.

"Mortal...?" Yang began

"Combat..?" Blake finished

RR nodded, "Yes, you see in this universe, Mortal Kombat, that's combat with a K, don't ask, is a fighting Tournament originally established and created by the Elder Gods of this world as a way to keep the realms of this universe in check and for the realms to defend themselves against a realm called Outworld if it grew too powerful for years, well that was until the tyrannical ruler, Tyrian Callows fully took control and posed a serious threat to the realms," RR explained. "However, with the timeline reset, the new tournament was founded in collaboration between Emperor Ozma of Outworld and Lord Sun Wukong of Earthrealm, as a means of maintaining peace among the realms,"

Hearing the last part raised Ozpin's brow in confusion, disregarding the fact that his original self was an emperor. "The timeline of this world was reset?" He asked. "Why?"

RR nodded, "It's a long and complicated story, and we'll check it out later, I promise that for now, we're looking at the reset timeline," RR said.

"Alright, but what's the difference between the timeline you're showing us and the timeline that came before?" Ironwood asked.

RR looked at the general, "I'll explain as we watch, that way you're somewhat informed about the previous timeline," He explained.

Ironwood nodded, "Very well," he replied.

RR nodded, "Alright, then let's get the show on the road!" RR said. "We'll be starting with the introduction on

Everyone turned their attention away from the god and toward the screen as it turned on showing the universe.

The screen showed Jaune, drinking some alcohol at a small table in a rather large mansion. Jaune's hair was short and combed over, and he wore a grey shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a pair of black pants, with a brown leather belt.

Jaune groaned in frustration, "How do you like that, Mr. A-lister," He said taking a drink.

"Whoa! What does Jaune do in this universe to get a place like that!?" Yang asked.

RR appeared, "In the old timeline and this one, Jaune is an actor, though, right now in this timeline, he's kind of at the end of his career," RR said.

"An actor? In what?" Pyrrha asked, curious as to what kind of movies Jaune starred in.

"Action movies," RR said with a bit of an amused tone.

Pyrrha chuckled, "Of course he does," She said, "he always loved those kind of movies,"

Reese nodded in agreement with a smile, "Yeah, especially ones with Spruce Willace,"

Jaune then heard the door open and a small smile came to his face, and he slowly turned around, "Thank god, Lisa, honey, I-" Jaune began.

However once he turned around he wasn't face to face with his wife, Lisa Lavander, he was instead facing Lie Ren, who wore a suit with a green undershirt, and in his hands was a sword.

Jaune glared at Ren, "Where's my wife? What did you-!?"

"She left," Ren cut him off. "She's fine, you will be too if you cooperate," Ren told him.

Nora and Pyrrha were a little worried, wondering why Ren had the sword and why he was in Jaune's house.

Ren was worried that the version of himself on screen would kill Jaune, he also wondered why he had barged into Jaune's house.

Jaune continued to glare at Ren. "What do you want?" he asked.

Ren then pointed his sword over at another sword that Jaune had on his wall. "Sento," Ren replied.

Jaune looked at him, but now with a raised brow, "You some kind of hired gun? Or do you know Sento's history?" Jaune asked.

"I know it," Ren began, as he started circling Jaune. "It's my family blade," Ren told him.

Yang was confused, "Wait? Did Jaune steal Ren's sword first?" He asked

Blake shook her head, "I don't think so," she told Yang. "Ren seems like the one in the wrong in this situation, after all, who just enters someone's house with a sword drawn?"

Back on screen, Jaune shook his head, as he too began circling around the room. "No," Jaune told him. "No way your Taira clan, they've been dead for centuries,"

"Not dead," Ren stated quickly. "Hiding, and with Sento in my hands, I'll lead us out of the shadows," He stated.

"That's a great plan, stranger," Jaune told him with a sarcastic tone. "Except for one thing... Sento's mine and I won't give it up without a fight," Jaune said.

Jaune and Ren took a fighting stance as Jaune prepared to fight with his fist and Ren prepared to fight with his sword.

"Uh... I know I'm late to ask," Velvet began, looking uneasy as the scene began. "But do they have Aura in this world?" she asked.

"No," RR told her.

"WHAT!?" Came the cry of RWBY, NPR, Velvet, and Reese.

The fight began with Ren rushing at Jaune, preparing to swing his sword at him, and Jaune rushed at Ren as well, however, just as he closed the distance, Jaune began to do front splits and pulled his fist back.

Ren slashed at the blonde but missed, and just as he did, Jaune threw his punch right into Ren's crotch.

"OOOHHH!" Came the cry of every man in the theater

Ren bent forward in pain as he dropped the sword and grabbed his crotch. Jaune smiled, and then pushed himself up and then delivered an uppercut to Ren, which sent him flying backward and onto the ground unconscious.

Once Ren lay on the ground, Jaune stood over his knocked-out with a confident smirk, "My house, my rules," he muttered.

Yang looked over at RR with a raised brow, "Jaune took Ren out pretty quick here, is Jaune a better fighter in this world?"

RR nodded, "Yeah, Jaune's one of the best fighters in this world, even in the previous timeline he was an amazing fighter, hell in the last timeline, he even defeated an elder god known as Shinnock,"

"Whoa! Jaune-Jaune kicked a gods ass!?" Nora cried in awe

RR nodded, "And trust me, there are plenty of universes where Jaune fights a god, hell there's even a whole universe dedicated to a tournament where humans face gods," RR said.

The scene cut to show Ren now tied up in a chair, and he was beginning to wake up with a groan, he struggled against the binds, but couldn't free himself.

"So, you got a name or what?" Came Jaune's voice.

Ren looked in front of him as he answered. "Lie Ren," He told Jaune.

Jaune sat in front of Ren on a small cushioned stool with a smile, "Ha! Knew you weren't Taira clan," Jaune said with a smile.

Ren glared at Jaune, "You know nothing, Arc," Ren told him with a stern tone.

"Four hundred years ago, the Taira clan were one of Japan's first families," Jaune told Ren. "They lost Sento, after getting slaughtered at Seige of Aomori," He finished.

"Japan?" Ren asked.

"A country in this world that somewhat similar to Mistral and Menagerie," RR answered.

"There were survivors, they hid themselves by shedding the name Taira for Ren," Ren replied. "They joined the Bakuto for its protection,"

"The Yakuza's predecessors... from first family, to crime family," Jaune said with a smile.

"Ren's a criminal!?" Nora cried.

Yang chuckled and Nora's cry, as the blonde looked over to Pyrrha. "Ya know, I never imagined Ren to be a criminal, he doesn't have that vibe,"

Pyrrha giggled, "I can see that," She said.

Ren sighed but smiled as he overheard the conversation between the two, knowing very well back in the day he was a bit of a troublemaker when he and Nora had to traverse across Mistral by themselves and had to steal a lot just to survive.

Back on the screen, Ren sat up straight as he looked Jaune in the eyes, "I will break us free of the Yakuza's corruption, reclaim our name and out position!" Ren declared. "But... my clan won't follow me unless I prove that I can lead, that's why I need Sento," Ren finished.

The two sat there for a second before the doorbell rang and Jaune looked at Ren with a smile, "And that! Is Malibu's finest!" Jaune said as he got up and walked over to the door. "It's a great story, bullshit, but great, you should seriously consider becoming a screenwriter," Jaune told him as he approached the door.

Jaune grabbed the knob of his front door and opened it, only to see that instead of the cops, standing in front of him were Sun, who had some white glowing eyes, and with him were a younger Raven and Qrow, with Raven wearing a blue sort of Uniform and Qrow wearing an orange uniform.

Seeing her mother and uncle on screen, Yang was shocked, especially seeing how young they appeared to be in this universe. Ruby was also shocked by how young her uncle was, but also looked over to Yang to see her reaction to seeing Raven, or at least a version of her.

Sun looked at his other self on screen and had a few questions. "Hey, why are my eyes like that and who are those two behind me?" He asked RR.

RR appeared in front of the monkey faunus, "This version of you is a god, and was the only survivor of the previous timeline, in fact, your the one who reset the timeline and shaped the lives of those in this world," RR said.

"I'm a god?" Sun asked in shock.

"Yes," RR replied. "And the two with you are Raven and Qrow Branwen who are part of the Branwen Clan,"

Taking an interest in the other version of Raven and Qrow, Ozpin decided to ask a few more questions, "In this world, are they still bandits?" He asked.

"No," Replied the ball of light, "They are a group of assassins that work to keep Earthrealm safe, with Raven now leading the clan, Raven in this world is Known as Sub-Zero due to her powers and Qrow is known as Scorpion, though in the previous timeline, someone else held that title while Qrow took the name Sub-zero,"

Jaune looked at the three with utter confusion, "What in the actual fu-!"

"Good evening, Jaune Arc," Sun greeted with a respectful tone. "I am Sun Wukong, protector of Earthrealm, may we enter?" Sun asked.

"This Sun seemed to be more respectful than ours," Weiss teased.

"Hey! I'm pretty respectful!" Sun cried.

"Uh..." Jaune began as he looked around behind the three, "Nothing's being shot here tonight, You sure you're in the right place?" Jaune asked.

Sun looked at Jaune with a flat look, "Yes," he replied. "We come on a matter of grave importance, we must speak to you and your guest,"

"What?" Jaune asked and leaned closer to Sun. "How do you know about him?"

"Because I am the god of Fire," Sun told him.

"Whoa! I'm the god of fire!?" Sun cried with joy.

"Technically, you were once the god of thunder and fire, and that's because of who your mentor was in the previous timeline, but you lost the thunder when you gifted the power of thunder to this world's version of your mentor," RR told him. "But that's a story for another time," RR told him.

Jaune chuckled lightly and shook his head, "Lisa you vixen," Jaune muttered. "Sure! Come right in!" Jaune said, stepping back and letting the three step in.

Sun walked in, followed by Raven and Qrow right behind.

"Glowing eyes are a nice touch!" Jaune told Sun as he walked in.

As they walked in, Sun walked over to the tied-up Ren. "Lie Ren, a tragic figure with a noble cause," Sun said. "Your actions this evening do you no credit,"

Ren was confused as he looked over at Jaune, "Who are these people?" He asked.

"Wait, Ren's confused?" Blake asked. "I thought he would know this version of Sun in this universe since it seemed like this Sun knew him,"

"Sun knows all of them because he knew them in the previous timeline and shaped their lives," RR told her. "He pretty much knows everyone that he knew in the old timeline, but he has no control over them or their lives, he just keeps tabs on them, meanwhile, none of them would know Sun since he's kept his presence hidden from certain individuals who didn't need to know just yet,"

Jaune looked back at Ren, "You tell me, they're your scene partners,"

Sun then turned to look at Jaune, "I also know of your struggles, Jaune Arc," Sun told him. "I am here to offer you both a path forward,"

"Dun Dun Duuun!" Jaune said with a smirk.

That little action got a giggle from Yang.

Jaune then began to laugh as he looked back to Sun, "C'mon guys, let's call this! Lisa was a doll to set this up, but... as pranks go, this one's... eh, pretty obvious," He said.

"This is no prank," Sun told him. Sun then looked at the twins. "Raven, Qrow, if you please?" He asked.

As he said this, Raven walked over to Lie Ren to untie him.

As he did this, Jaune chuckled, "Alright, alright! I'll play my part in this martial arts LARP, the missus ought to get what she paid for," Jaune said as he began acting and looked at Raven. "Hey, you! Get your damn hands off him! I said, get your hands-!"

Jaune grabbed Raven's arm, only for her to shove him away, punched him in the face, and then uppercut him, before Raven jumped and spun around and delivered a kick to Jaune, sending Jaune back and sliding across the floor until he hit a small shelf with some art piece on it, which fell off and landed on Jaune, breaking in the process.

"Damn... that Raven chick and kick some ass," Neptune said.

Jaune groaned as he began to get up.

Qrow stepped next to Raven as he looked at her with a raised brow. "Was that necessary, sister?" Qrow asked.

"To put him in his place!" Raven replied with a stern tone.

Ozpin smirked a little at seeing that the Qrow and Raven on screen did remind him of them when they began to attend Beacon. With Qrow being curious about the world around him and Raven putting on the stern and rude act.

Jaune sat up and looked at the broken art piece. "That was a Hichuli! One of a kind!" Jaune cried as he stood up and dusted himself off. "Alright, I don't care of this is a damn prank! you crossed a line!" Jaune said as he prepared to fight Raven.

Raven approached Jaune with a glare and tried to punch him in the face again, but Jaune quickly ducked under the swing and then quickly got back up and delivered a punch to Raven's gut, before he jumped backward and backflip-kicked Raven in the process, sending her flying back onto the ground.

Raven growled before she quickly got back up and glared at Jaune. She rushed at him and threw another punch, but Jaune blocked it, however, Raven then punched him in the stomach, causing Jaune to wince, Raven then pulled both her hands back and delivered a double open-palm strike to Jaune's Chest, sending him stumbling backward.

Raven rushed at Jaune again and tried to deliver a high kick, but Jaune managed to side-step the attack before he then moved forward and delivered a punch right to Raven's face, causing her to become dazed as she stumbled backward slowly.

Jaune continued forward with his attacks, delivering a right hook to Raven's face and then a left hook, before kneeing her in the gut and then jumping up and kicking her in the chest, sending Raven flying back and groaning in pain.

"DAMN!" Sun and Neptune cried in shock.

"Yikes, he really handed it to her," Blake said.

Yang was shocked at her mother and seemingly lost the fight, as she had heard from her uncle how her mother was one of the best fighters on their team, but then again, this was a different version of her mother and maybe she wasn't the best at hand-to-hand.

She also had to admit Jaune was a pretty good fighter in this world, but there were definitely a few things he could improve on as she was sure she could easily take this Jaune on in a fight.

"And scene," Jaune said as he looked over at Raven. "I hope you're insured because you're paying for my Hichuli!" Jaune told her.

Raven got up and glared at Jaune, "Imbecile! You have no idea with whom you are dealing!" Raven seethed.

"Enough!" Sun cried as he erupted into flames for a split second, causing the smoke alarm of the house to go off.

Jaune looked at him with confusion and shock, "Uh... that's no special effect," He said.

"Gee, ya think," Yang teased Jaune on screen.

Sun looked at Jaune, "Indeed, Jaune Arc," He said. Sun then turned back to Qrow and gestured at Ren. "Qrow," he said

Qrow bowed at Sun quickly, before moving to untie Ren.

Jaune then stepped forward and looked at Sun, "Ok, let's go back to one here, who are you again?" He asked.

"He just told you who he was minutes ago!" Nora cried.

"Nora, he's in shock that it's all real, you can't blame him for asking who Sun is again," Ren said with a smile.

"You can't blame him either, I mean can you imagine if that happened to you?" Pyrrha asked. "I for one would be questioning so much," She said.

"I as well," Weiss said.

"Lord Sun Wukong, protector of Earthrealm, God of Fire," Sun repeated his introduction.

Jaune nodded, "Well, that last one tracks, but... what's an Earthrealm?" He asked.

Sun chuckled, "All will be explained, Jaune Arc, for now, what is important is that you both have been chosen to join its champions," Sun told him as he then turned to the freed Lie Ren.

Jaune turned to look at Ren and pointed at him. "Why him?" Jaune asked. "Or me for that matter?"

"Because I have faith, that you will rise to the challenge," Sun told him with a soft smile. "And because your service will change the arcs of your lives,"

Sun watched as Jaune and Ren seemed to consider this and the god looked at them, still smiling. "So, what will it be?" Sun asked.

Ren looked at the god and nodded, "I'll do it, I suppose, can't refuse an off from a god, now can I?" He said.

"Then I guess I'm in as well," Jaune said with a smile.

Sun nodded, "Good," Sun told them. "Now, let us be off, you must train and meet the other two champions, and I'm sure you'll get along, just fine," He said.

With that, the screen slowly faded into black as the viewing came to an end.

"Aw! It ended there!? But I have so many questions!" Nora cried. "Like who were the other champions? What happened after that? And who were they gonna fight!?"

RR chuckled, "We'll return to it at a later date, as we still have a lot more to see from this universe," RR told her.

Nora sighed, "Alright," She said.

"Well that was pretty fun, but what's next?" Yang asked.

RR disappeared for a moment, before reappearing and looking at the audience of the theater. "Well, you see, it seems that we'll be returning to the first Universe we watched,"

"You mean... the one where he was betrayed and killed?" Pyrrha asked with worry.

RR nodded, "Yeah,"

"But isn't Jaune dead?" Yang asked with a raised brow.

"He is... but sometimes, death is as permanent in that world as you would believe," RR told them

Hearing that, team RWBY and NPR were in shock at what the god was implicating.

"Are you saying... someone brought him back from the dead!?" Ruby cried.

RR nodded, "Yeah, but we won't be seeing who brought him back, nor will we see the battle he had to reclaim his home, instead, we'll be seeing him and a very small group fight for survival against an ancient enemy,"

"What kind of enemy?" Weiss asked, curious.

"An Army of the Dead," RR replied with an amused tone.
