Chapter 28: Fear and blood

"take him to the IC!"- screamed one of the doctors as they took Makoto quickly to the intensive care. He had fallen unconscious after the pain had fully coursed his body. His body covered in white streaks. Immediately as they got to the IC, they started scanning every inch of his body, and checked his blood, shocking them. After about an hour of pure testing, Mikan and Seiko came out of the room with a face of dread – "how is he?"- Jin asked and they both looked at each other worried

"I… I didn't think it would be possible, but Makoto is dying" – Seiko said shocking them – "how is that possible?"- Kijo said shocked – "Up until know no sickness or damage could hurt him... so how is it possible that he is dying!?"- Kijo screamed scaring them, only for Jin to calm him down, Seiko then took a hard breath – "well apparently the virus that is inside of him was designed with ghouls blood, and its purpose is to eliminate every cell in Makoto's body"- she explained – "But Makoto is immune to ghoul blood" – Tsumugi said as she was a little shaken in pain and worried – "well the issue is that because the virus is made with both his blood and his mothers, his body isn't fighting it"- Jin then looked at them – "Is there any way to save him?"- Izuru then asked. Seiko then took another hard breath – "Well there is only one option"- she said

"we have to take all his blood out"- she said as they looked in pure shock – "What?"- Kijo asked, Seiko then started explaining – "well the issue is that, the virus only stays in his bloodstream, so if we manage to pull out all his blood and exchange it with a clean one we may be able to save him… but sadly there is another problem. As his body does sense that something is in an array, but can't identify it, if we try to give him a blood transfusion his body will detect it as a foreign substance and attack it"- she started explaining.

"So, what can we do?"- asked Kijo – "well. We did try with ghouls blood and it had a better success rate, but still not enough… we need to find some blood that is so similar to Makoto's that could probably work"- she said – "But Maki is currently the only person like that and she is indisposed and far away, so she wouldn't be able to arrive on time"- both Kijo and Jin then looked mad… this was BS, they couldn't save him… dammit

"I can do the transfusion!"- Tsumugi then said surprising them – "Sorry miss but only…"-But had quickly interrupted her – "I'm like Maki… I'm the first dhampir Makoto made"- Both Jin, Kijo, and Seiko then looked in shock, before they looked at Izuru, who nodded. Makoto was hiding the fact that another like Maki was alive – "but why help us? You work with Dr. Tsesuna"-Izuru then said and Tsumugi brought her hand to her chest.

"The only reason I'm working with the Dr. Is that I want to give Makoto everything he promised"- she said confusing and surprising them. – "you may believe that the Dr. is against Makoto but is not true. We believe that Makoto is destined to guide the world to the next step as King. But you humans are against him. So, we fight you so you can understand"- she explained before she looked at them directly – "but nothing I have done in my life wasn't for Makoto"- she said. Both Jin and Kijo then looked at each other. Although she was from the enemy, her intentions were pure.

"Ok… do the transfusion"

Makoto woke up at the small bar where Ezio was. He then looked around searching for her. He started walking before he then felt a huge shake in the room, shocking him – "What the?"- the room then shook again – "Ezio?!"- he then asked as he started searching for her. The room then shook even more and stuff inside the room started falling. After about 6 minutes he finally found her, hiding under the pool table. Makoto was going to joke or something but then he noticed that she was shaking. He then sighed and sat next to her.

"So… what you are doing?"- he asked her. She then looked at him, tears on her face – "What the hell you think I'm doing? I'm hiding because I'm afraid! We are going to die!"- She screamed truly afraid – "Yeah I noticed"- he said calmly, as the world started shaking again – "aren't you worried?!"- she then screamed surprising him – "well I am, but there is nothing I can do right now. I bet outside everyone is going crazy trying to find a solution"- he said calmly – "but I'm surprised you are so scared. Normally you are always calm"- Makoto said as the scared Ezio snuggled with him – "I'm never afraid because I know we couldn't die… but this is the first time I feel I am going to disappear and I'm scared"- Makoto and she then snuggled calmly as they saw the room being torn apart.

"so… do you have any regrets?"- she then asked trying to make conversation to affront her fear – "Well… I guess the fact I never managed to stop the ghouls, or maybe not having a family?"- Makoto said thoughtfully, before looking at her – "and you?"- he asked her and she blushed – "Well maybe the fact I'm dying a virgin" – she said shocking Makoto – "what?!"- her face turned red – "we'll, all the other vampires disappeared before I went through my puberty, so I never managed to get laid before I was frozen"- Makoto looked a bit embarrassed until something caught his attention – "wait? Other Vampires?"- Ezio then quickly covered her mouth – "there are other vampires?"- Makoto said, and Ezio looked nervous. Makoto noticed she didn't want to talk about it. And he sighed – "you know our relationship would be easier if you told me this kind of things"- he said making her feel guilty – "Ezio"- he called her before she looked at him

And he kissed her. Her eyes widened as he kissed her deeply before she got way into it and kissed back. Somehow kissing Makoto felt so reassuring, her fear had disappeared almost completely. After a while, they finally separated, and after noticing what they were doing her face turned red – "what was that?"- she asked nervously before he smiled at her – "well since we don't have a lot of time. I thought I could help you fulfill your last regret"- Makoto said and her face exploded red. He was going to do what? - "unless you don't want to?"-Makoto then asked a little confused.

"It's ok… we can… continue"- she said embarrassed making blush as well – "after all like you said, we don't have a lot of time" – they both then looked at each other again before they kissed again, but this time it was different, it felt more passionate and carnal. He then noticed the door opening and from it entered Kyoko, Maki, Mondo, Mukuro and Byakuya – "Sup guys, how you been?"- immediately without a chance to move, Kyoko then tackled him to the ground – "Makoto… it's it really you?"- she cried heavily as everyone else got closer all of them, yes even Mondo, were crying a little – "I mean I think I'm me"- Makoto said smiling. He then looked at Byakuya

"So how long have I been asleep?"- Byakuya then cleaned his tears – "you been asleep for about a week"- he said, Makoto looked a bit surprised – "I see, I guess I made all of you worried"- he said as he felt Kyoko not letting him go. Just then the door opened again as Kijo and Jin entered – "is its true Makoto is awake?"- Kijo and Jin said as they entered to see the current scene. Immediately Kyoko stopped hugging Makoto, but it was too late Jin had seen everything – "Jin?"- Makoto then asked but it was too late – "Jin?"- Kijo asked even more worried

"Makoto… I'm happy you are ok… But I need to ask you a favor"- Jin said as Makoto got more and more worried – "Please Die!"- He said pulling his gun – "Jin?"- Makoto's eyes widened as he cocked his gun – "don't worry… you won't die"

After a while, they all calmed down. Makoto was full of bullet holes, that quickly healed – "So what happened to me?"- Makoto asked them, they all went silent. Makoto couldn't remember all of it, but he knew it was painful. – "Makoto… your mom did this to you"- Kijo said, and just as fast Makoto's memories came back. As the painful information rushed into his mind, he had a slight headache – "Makoto?"-asked worried Kyoko – "I'm ok"- he said trying to calm her... while Jin was pulling out his gun again, only to be stopped by Kijo – "I see. Momo did this"- Makoto then said sadly

"she injected a virus on you who started destroying your body from the inside" – Jin explained calm – "and how did I survive?"- he asked confused – "we had to give you a quick extreme blood transfusion"- he explained – "but we couldn't give you any human or ghouls blood. And since Maki, the only one we could give you… was Tsumugi's blood"- Makoto's eyes widened at that… she had saved him? – "where is she?"- he said calmly

"she is currently in a cell, the same one Maki used to be"- Jin said. Makoto then stood up from the bed – "I'm going to visit her"-Makoto said shocking them – "wait for Makoto you can't go"- But Makoto didn't listen – "I need to ask her some questions… so I'll go"- he said as he got to the door. Kyoko was going to say something only for Maki to stop her. – "He needs an answer"- she said, and Kyoko looked sad, and both Kijo and Jin sighed

As Makoto was walking to the containing cell area, he looked a little up – *Ezio… are you there? *- he thought as a ghostly version of Ezio appeared – "yes I am"- she said a little sad – *how are you feeling? *- she then looked ahead – "well… I mean I'm glad we didn't die… but…."- Makoto was confused - *But? *- her face then turned red – "I said and did a lot of super embarrassing things… Is so embarrassing I feel I could die!"- she screamed fully red and he smiled softly – "well at least we are alive enough to get embarrassed"
