Chapter 32: Moonlight-style

"Makoto!"- His father said happily, as Minato hugs his son who was visiting them. It was early morning and Komaru was in school. Makoto had gone there with both Usami and Sayaka (Kyoko wanted to go but everyone except Makoto had reaper job). Makoto smiled back and greeted him as well. – "Dad how are you?"- he said only to notice that his father looked surprised he looked at what he was looking at and noticed he was looking at Sayaka – "Oh sorry dad. This is Sayaka Maizono she is…"

"Please take care of my son"- his father said as he bowed to Sayaka. Both Makoto and Sayaka then blushed and looked nervous – "Wait, Dad?"- but Minato didn't listen – "I know my son it's probably a little difficult, but I thank you for taking care of him… oh look at me, I have to go brew some tea for the guests"- He said as he quickly entered the room, leaving the two blushing teens standing on the door – "I'm sorry for my dad"- Makoto said as he facepalmed himself. Sayaka then kissed Makoto's cheek. He looked surprised while she smiled teasingly - "I'll make sure to take care of you"- she said as she entered, leaving Makoto outside with his face burning red

As he entered he noticed both Sayaka and her father in the living room drinking some just made tea. Makoto sighed and sat on the sofa next to Sayaka. While getting teasing looks from his father – "So how is Komaru?"- Makoto asked trying to deflect his father's insinuations – "Oh Komaru, well she has been doing ok. She has been feeling a little lost because of the sudden disappearance of your mom… but I think she is adapting"- he explained. Makoto then looked sadly, and Minato looked confused – "What is it, son?"- Makoto then looked at him – "Dad… I have to tell you something"- he then explained everything that had happened in the last couple of weeks.

"WHAT!?" – Screamed asking Minato after hearing him. Letting his cup fall and break. How could this be? Not only was his wife working for the new and more dangerous Neo Exorcist. But at the same time, she almost killed their son, hearing all of this he placed his hand on his head. – "I'm …. I'm sorry dad"- Makoto apologized surprising both him and Sayaka.

"I know I shouldn't be saying this… but maybe it shouldn't have returned home after the experiment… I guess I brought more problems to our family"- he admitted. Minato then gave a hard sigh – "Makoto you shouldn't blame yourself. I do not know what is happening through your mother's mind. But I never believed you were a problem. After you came back, I have never been happier. I love you son"- Sayaka slowly looked at Makoto who was crying heavily. She then hugged him, making Minato smile. Although he was half-joking about them, he was happy that Sayaka was there to help his son.

After Makoto finally calmed down, he separated from Sayaka and cleaned his eyes before looking serious at Minato – "dad… I also came here to ask you for something"- he said seriously, Minato looked back a little confused – "Dad… I want to learn Moonlight-style"- he said shocking his father. Who eyes turned serious – "Can I ask you why you want to learn?"- he asked seriously and Makoto looked down.

"I want to get stronger"- He admitted – "I want to protect the people I care for. After mom… well after that moment, I noticed how weak I was. Because of this people are getting injured. I want to protect them"- He explained. Minato then looked at his eyes and noticed that he was telling the truth. He then smiled proudly

"AH!"- they then heard from the entrance of the living room they quickly looked there and noticed Komaru who was panicking – "Komaru?"- Makoto asked a little confused – "OMG! IT'S SAYAKA MAIZONO!"- She screamed in shock, followed by two of her friends quickly entering the house and seeing themselves (Same as UHA). They quickly went into fan mode and dashed to where Sayaka was only to be stopped by Makoto – "WOW calm down Komaru, Lala and Mia"- he said stopping them, only for Sayaka to giggle – "Since when you are my bodyguard Makoto?"- she joked – "well I never thought this would happen"- Makoto said. Surprising Mia, Lala and especially Komaru, she knew they both went to the same school, but never that they were this close. Sayaka then stood up, as the trio tensed nervously over starstruck – "So are you going to present them to me?"- she said smiling

"Well this is my sister Komaru, and these two are her friends Mia and Lala"- Sayaka then smiled to the three and they all giggled excited – "So… Can I ask… how do you two know each other?"- Mia then asked blushing a bit. Sayaka looked interested. She had noticed that every once in awhile, she was looking at Makoto and blushing a bit. She then decided to play along. She then grabbed Makoto's arm

"Well, I'm Makoto's girlfriend!" – She said hugging him lovingly leaving the four of them in shock- "What?!"- the trio screamed. Makoto then quickly separated from her – "Sayaka!"- he said nervously only for her to pout – "What? are we hiding our relationship?"- Makoto noticed she was playing him but she looked so cute he blushed either way. Before he felt a dark presence behind him. He looked and saw Komaru with a bloodthirsty aura – "Big brother…. When were you going to tell me, you were dating Maizono-sama?"- she said making him nervous – "well… I mean it's not official yet"- Makoto admitted a little shily, surprising them – "I mean, my current situation doesn't let me have a stable relationship"- Sayaka, Minato, and Komaru understood what he meant. Because of him being a vampire and because of people targeting his head Makoto couldn't risk having a relationship and possibly bringing them harm. But on the other hand, both Mia and Lala didn't know this

"You are a pig!"- Lala screamed angry at Makoto, surprising him- "How dare you to play with Maizono-sama's feelings you two-timer"- she said accusing him – "Makoto I thought you were a nice man"- Mia then said shily. Makoto's morale then plummeted, Komaru then calmed herself – "Maizono-sama do you know?"- she asked a little shy, Sayaka understood and nodded – "do you still love him?" – She then asked making Sayaka blush, before she nodded again – "well then I guess I think you two are a cute couple"- she said surprising her friends – "How can you say that… we can't have this two-timer dating goddess Maizono"- Lala said a little mad – "Lala, big bro isn't like that. I know him if he believes he can't be with her at the moment it's then I guess he has his reason. But look at them"- Lala then looked at both Sayaka and Makoto. Sayaka was trying her best to help him. Mia and Lala were surprised they looked like they cared for each other, but what surprised them the most was Sayaka, they had seen Sayaka in all her shows and appearances. But they never had seen her smile this way. She was truly happy about Makoto. Mia then looked away a little jealous – "ok then I guess I can forgive him this time"- she said trying to be tough. Komaru then smiled – "ok let's go to my room"- she said as she pulled her friends away.

After all that scene Minato then coughed hard, getting the two remaining teen's attention – "well if this romantic comedy is done. We can start with business"- He said making them blush before Makoto looked dedicated.

"I still can't believe that our goddess idol it's dating a two-timer"- Lala said as they all settled in in Komaru's room – "I mean didn't you tell me Komaru that he was dating a girl by the name of Kyoko?" – She said accusingly. Komaru looked a little nervous – "I mean I don't know, they are friends from childhood but never actually started dating"- she said, Lala still looked unconvinced – "Well I don't understand why would they be interested in him, he looks rather plain"- Komaru giggled a bit, she understood that his brother was plain looking, but none of them understood how amazing he was. Her eyes then widened as she noticed her thought and shook her head *As a brother, yes he is amazing as a brother* she thought – "Well I kinda understand"- Mia admitted surprising them – "Although he looks rather plain, he is determined and kind"- Mia said blushing surprising both of them, Mia then noticed both of them looking at her, and her face turned red – "Wait, Mia, do you like Komaru's brother?" – Lala asked as they both got closer to her – "well… I…"- but before she could answer they all heard a really strong crash coming from the back of the house. Surprised they quickly looked at the window on the back.

"It's that all you can do Makoto?"- Minato screamed as they looked at the current scene. Minato had taken off his suit and was in his rolled-up shirt, holding a wooden sword, while Makoto who had taken off his hoodie and instead was wearing his t-shirt had crashed and broken the fence wall. They see Makoto stand, stretch his neck and with his shirt clean a bit of sweat on his forehead, revealing his abs – "I won't give up old man"- He then said his eyes full with determination before holding his wooden sword and dashing to his father again restarting the spar – "ok… I Understand"- both Mia and Komaru heard as they looked at Lala who was blushing and rather attracted to Makoto – "he looks hot"

After sparing for about 30 minutes, without noticing the spectators looking from the top. Two of them quite horny over the masculinity of the two fighters (because hormones are a bitch) and the third one impressed over how strong her father and brother were. But even then Makoto completely lost against his father – "I must say I'm quite impressed you became this strong almost by yourself"- Makoto was on the grass spread trying to catch his breath – "I didn't know you were this strong dad… if you were a reaper you would probably be a captain"- he said while his father smiled. His father then held his sword against his shoulder – "well I guess this will all for today"- he said surprising Makoto who quickly sat – "wait I can keep going"- he said before Minato laughed a little

"Ohh I know, but this was only a test to see how strong you already are. Tomorrow let's meet at the dojo on top of the hills"- he said pointing at the dojo that was nearby – "there we will start your formal training" – He said. Makoto looked excited, he had seen his father train and now fight so none of this was new… but somehow something inside of him made him excited to learn. His father then helped him up and Sayaka walked close to give both of them a towel. Minato then looked closely at her – "Dad what are you doing?"- Makoto asked a little suspicious – "I see… Bring her again tomorrow"- he said confusing the two of them before he left

*she has potential as well*- he thought as he walked away

Both Makoto and Sayaka were standing there alone – "why do you think he wants me there?" – She asked him – "I don't know actually, but hey if you are occupied you don't have to come"- he said a little nervous. But she then smiled – "are you kidding, if it means spending more time with you I wouldn't hate it"- she said making him blush – "so now that we are alone…"- She started insinuating, only to be stopped by Makoto – "Sorry Sayaka but we have spectators"- he said pointing up, Sayaka turned around and noticed the trio who quickly hid under the window frame.

The next day came and Makoto was extremely tired. He came the day before only to be almost interrogated by Maki, Mukuro, and Kyoko about what Sayaka and he did during the visit. And because of that they basically spent the whole night "with him". After the night both Makoto and Sayaka got ready to leave again. Maki and Kyoko were going to follow them only to receive a notice from Byakuya that they had another new mission. Disappointed they left, but without them knowing someone followed them.

Sayaka and Makoto then arrived at the dojo. As they almost entered the dojo they noticed a couple of sets of clothing one for him and one for Sayaka. Confused they took it and noticed a print of an arrow on the door showing to the dressing area. They just shrug his shoulders and went to change, Makoto came out with a black kimono with red petals and a grey Kamishimo, and Sayaka came with a light blue one with purple stripes and a white Kamishimo, and a ponytail. They then looked at each other and blushed. They then entered through the main door only to see Minato on his own Red Kimono and black Kamishimo, sitting seiza in front of him there were 2 Katanas on their sheath, one in a red sheath and one with a purple sheath. He then looks at them and nods.

They both then look at each other, before they sat in seiza as well. Makoto in front of the red, which he recognized because it was the same he used once. Katana and Sayaka in front of the purple one – "These two blades are the pride and joy of the Moonlight-style"- Makoto then looked nervous… he didn't know about the sword back then… but he was sure he broke the sword – "don't worry Makoto although the swords are important, they are just a symbol"- His father explained calming his son. He then looked serious to both of them – "The Moonlight-style is an ancient evolving style which has been divided into two different schools, The Crimson Moon-Style and the Twilight Moon-style. But only a true master can learn both"- he explained

"but as tradition, the master can only teach one to each of his students and once they master each school they will teach each other"- it was then that Makoto and Sayaka both realized why she was there – "Yes. Makoto you, like me, are first going to learn the Crimson moon-style, he is perfect for men or strength built people since it uses its techniques based on the user's body, and you Sayaka Maizono, I wish you would learn the Twilight moon-style, this one is made for more soft and finesses bodies, specialized by using the enemies strength on your techniques"- he explained surprising them – "I will teach each of you the basic techniques of each school. You will learn and evolve the techniques and once mastered you will teach each other to master the full Moonlight-style. That is… if Sayaka accepts"- He said looking at her

"Did mom learn moonlight as well?"- Makoto then said surprising Sayaka, and making his father sight – "No she didn't, but she did learn the Twilight moon-style and taught it to me after we fell in love"- he explained. Makoto looked sad. But knowing this Sayaka eyes looked determined, maybe if she learned this, she would be able to help him, just like his mother helped Minato. And if she learned maybe she could help him in battle – "Ok I will learn"- she said determined surprising Makoto – "But Sayaka"- but she smiled at him

"Makoto… I love you"- she said shocking him and making him blush – "I do… so every time you go to fight I feel sad and afraid that I will never see you again"- she said looking down before looking determined again – "But this time I can become stronger with you, this time we can work together to become strong"- she looks at him her eyes fully determined – "and next time we can fight together"- Makoto was surprised. He had never seen this side of Sayaka before. But slowly smiled and nodded. Minato smiled as well – "well then let's begin"- he said, they both looked at him and nodded

"Yes, Sensei"

But hiding nearby was Junko, who looked excited over what she had just learned

Well, this is the end of the chapter. To be honest the whole Sayaka learning was just a random thought that came to my mind mid-story like about 4 to 5 chapters ago. And I really liked it. So I hope you do as well
