Chapter 34: Old friends reunited again

….

"What the hell was that?"- a ghoul in middle of a group asked as 6 of them surrounded a crying girl in the middle they were eating another girl when they saw a red flash flying around they looked worried as they all transformed bringing out their abilities. One's claws grew, another one's arms turned into a gorilla, the third one teeth grew bigger than his head, the fourth one legs turned into raptor legs, and the fifth and sixth hands turned into fire and ice respectively.

"Who are you?!"- screamed the Sharp nails one, before the flash of red cruised again into the darkness… The other ghouls looked shocked as the Shap ghoul's body fell to the ground headless. They felt afraid over this and walked closer- "Who is there?!"- they screamed before heard steps coming out of the darkness, a red hooded person walks to them, holding a crimson like scythe. He starts to run

Immediately the fire one shoots a wave of fire to the attacker, the hooded man then jumped over the flames, before starting to slice away icicles shot by the ice ghoul. As he landed the hooded man then blocked a massive punch of the gorilla one, sending him flying, directly to the open fangs of the teeth ghoul, the hooded man then stopped his momentum just at the border of the ghoul's mouth. He then quickly pulled his scythe from the ground and sliced the teeth ghoul into pieces. He then felt his legs turn cold as the ice ghoul started freezing him in the ground – "kill him"- he screamed as the fire one shoots another wave of flames. The hooded man then turned his scythe into a hammer breaking the ice and jumping upward. After that his hammer turned into a whip which he quickly swung to grab the ice ghoul and pulled himself in, summoning a liquid that turned into a couple of blades, both the ice ghoul and the fire one then shoot their powers to him, creating a cloud of vapor. The cloud then parted and the hooded man sliced them both in half.

The Gorilla man then roared in rage making himself bigger, and dashed to the man. Who joined his hands and both his swords joined together into hi scythe again – "Crimson-moon… execution-style… new moon slash"- The Hooded man said slashing his scythe and cutting the ghoul into pieces

"ahh!"- he then heard only to look at raptor legs holding the hostage with a knife on her throat – "don't move… if you move I'll…"- only for a gunshot to sound and the ghoul to fall dead. The hostage then panicked and fainted. Makoto (because we knew it was Makoto. I was just trying some artistic writing) then took off his hood – "You should have paid more attention to your surroundings"- Mukuro then said as she walked with a gun – "Sorry Mukuro. I guess I am a little rusty"- Makoto said smiling a little embarrassed, making her blush – "well it's ok"- She then looked at his scythe – "So what was that? Crimson-moon execution style?"- she asked him confused, making his blush embarrassed – "well. As you know I been training kendo with my dad, and the style I'm currently learning is the crimson-moon style, but because I use other weapons than sword… I have been… adding names to make it easier to combine and remember"- she then giggled making him blush even more.

"I'm happy it's only us… so nobody can hear me say this"- he said embarrassed. And she smiled – "well you are just lucky that because I'm an exorcist and not a reaper, you can accompany me… after all you are currently a Vigilante"- she joked – "Yeah I know. Thanks again for accepting this selfish request"- she then smiled and looked away – "Sure… well let's go to the next target"- Makoto nodded and they both put on their hoods

"Let's start the party"

….

The next day came in and all the people that hunt ghouls, arrived they were all tired and exhausted. Even more than normal. The current events have caused an increase in the ghoul aggressivity, increasing their violent acts as well.

Seeing them all tired, confused those who didn't know about their secret job (Toko, Hifumi, Taka, Leon, Celes, and Yasuhiro). As they looked at them almost unconscious, Sakura, Hina, and Sayaka entered, Sayaka looking tired, but Sakura and Hina looked calm. Without thinking Sayaka then walked to Makoto and sat on his lap, surprising him and shocking everyone – "I'm so tired, your dad had me training swordfight all day"- she said currently not knowing what she was doing.

"Um… Sayaka?"- Makoto said confusing her – "we are in class"- he said blushing before she noticed what she was doing. She was accustomed to doing this while training since he would help her bandage her injuries, that she got accustomed to just doing it. She then quickly stood up her face color of red impossible to explain. Everyone then looked at her surprised – "wow Maizono-kun I didn't you were so bold"- Said Junko teasingly, while Hina, Kyoko, Maki, Mukuro and somehow deep inside even Celes, felt really jealous. Sayaka then tensed – "I'm sorry"- she said using her silent step to run as fast and far as possible shocking everyone there over the massive gust – "I must say I'm proud she has managed to master this much" – Sakura said tearing up of pride. – "wow you have her wrapped around your finger… and maybe she isn't the only one"- Junko said as she seductively touched his chest, making him tense and blush embarrassedly. Makoto looked around and noticed the multiple death stares looking at him. Especially Leon and Yasuhiro who's face was a mix of despair and murderous hate of pure jealousy

"Makoto how are you so popular?"- screamed enraged both of them as they cried blood of jealousy, shocking him – "Well because he is cute"- Junko joked, making them even more angry – "Junko you shouldn't joke like that"- Makoto complained. And Junko grinned maliciously -, before changing to her childish persona – "Oh master Makoto are you going to punish me again? If you are… please be gentle… I can't take it like last time. Such a barbarian"- Makoto was so shocked and terrified he had no words. He could only feel the hellish flames of Jealousy of everyone in the room, seeing there was no way of winning this situation just gave up and dropped his head to the seat – "damn it"- he said as Usami jumped into his head and fell asleep

Not later on Sayaka came back and classes started. But the teacher (Who was Yukizome for the day) noticed the fact that ¾ of the classroom was looking at Makoto with jealousy and malice, and that both Makoto and Sayaka were blushing uncontrollably. She was interested in the why… but instead decided to not pry into something that was not her business.

The lunch break finally started and most of them disbanded and went to rest and eat. Still staring daggers to Makoto. Makoto (who had forgotten his lunch) just stayed on his desk, playing with Usami (to whom he remembered to bring food for). As he pets Usami and fed him some lettuce, he then felt his stomach growl.

Just then he saw how a couple of melon pan bag landed on his desk, without a second Makoto grabbed it and opened one before starting to eat – "Makoto you should be more careful, and remember to bring "- He then heard in front of him, he looked up and saw both Kyoko and Byakuya there, the former looking mad at him – "Thmank yoku Beakauya, Koko"- Makoto says with a Melon pan in his mouth, making Byakuya sigh – "swallow your food before talking" – he said. Makoto then did as said and swallowed the melon pan – "Thanks guys"- he said, Byakuya then smiled and sigh a little, while Kyoko just looked away angry. Seeing her like that made Makoto smile confused while Byakuya sighed – "Kyoko, you know for a fact that Makoto isn't that intimate with Enoshima Junko"- Byakuya said

"I KNOW! BUT IT STILL MAKES MAD!"- she screamed shocking both of them. Before looking away mad and puffing her cheeks. Byakuya then decided to best ignore her – "So Makoto how it went yesterday?" – Makoto who was now eating the second one paused a to swallow – "It was easy… and hard at the same time… Easy because they were easy ghoul hunts… hard because… well after fighting for so long, it is kind of hard to implement my dad's teachings and the Crimson moon-style into my way of fighting"- he said a little embarrassed.

Both Kyoko and Byakuya then looked at each other confused before looking at him – "Makoto we wanted to ask you about that… why are trying to learn Moonlight- style if you are already captain level?"- he asked him. Makoto then smiled – "The answer to that is easy"- he then looked serious- "I know every Captain level reaper and I have seen them fight… and although I don't the deepness of their power. I know something for a fact…. My father has them all beat" – he said shocking them both, before they calmed down and smiled – "Makoto you must be kidding, all the captains are Ultimate fighter level. How could your father be stronger than them?"- Makoto then picked up his cellphone and started looking for something.

"When I started learning how to fight, I wanted my dad to teach me… but he said I was too young. So one night I used an old camera to tape him while training. After a couple of years I just saved it in my cloud"- he said as he played. The both of them looked a really old recording

Makoto (8-9 years) was picking up his camera. Since his dad had told him he couldn't learn Kendo from him, he was going to spy on him and learn it himself – Makoto grabbed his backpack and walked to the car, opening the back and hiding on it. He knew his father was going to use it to go to a secret place to train. And while an 8 years old boy disappearing from the house would be weird. He had lied to his dad and sister that he was going to the Kirigiri family house (which was nearby). And his mom… well she didn't care at all where he went.

Makoto hid there until he heard the door of the driver seat opening and heard the car starting. He was excited to see his dad training his Moonlight-style. Makoto woke up 2 and a half hours later as he heard the car finally stops. Scared, he quickly looked at his legs to see if there were still there, only to remember that he wasn't a test subject anymore. He got up and turned on his camera. Before going out of the car and following his dad. They were in the woods, walking in the middle of the forest. As he tried to sneak, Minato then stopped and sighed – "Makoto I know you are there"- He said turning around, panicked Makoto tried to hide behind a tree. Only for Minato to walk to where he was. Makoto looked a little scared about how his dad would react, what if he hated him like his mom.

But instead was surprised to see a warm smile on his father's face – "Makoto do you want to see dad train?"- He asked him. Makoto shily nodded, and Minato patted his head – "well let's go"- he then held started walking and Makoto excitedly started following him using his camera to tape everything. After walking for a couple of minutes they arrived at a large river with a waterfall in the back. Makoto was awestruck looking around. While he did that he then saw his father walking nearby and changing his clothes to a Samurai garb and picking his Katana (The Crimson-style one). Before looking at Makoto, who looked awestruck over his father. Minato felt a little proud of himself seeing his son so excited. Makoto then sat next to the water with his feet touching it. While Makoto videotaped his father.

Minato then walked to the waterfall, and to Makoto's surprise Minato was walking on top of the water. Once he arrived at it he took a long breath and closed his eyes. The sound of the waterfall slowly fading away as he concentrated his mind into pure calm stillness.

*Drip…. Drip…. Drip*

Minato quickly opened his eyes, pulling his sword and slashing upwards. Makoto eyes widened in shock as for 4 seconds, the waterfall was sliced in half. Before it raged again normally – "Ok the warm-ups are done"- Minato said.

Makoto looked in awe as he saw his father train his moves and techniques for the last hour and a half. It was so cool to see how he applied his mastery of martial arts. Makoto looked amazed overall when a growl sounded behind him. Makoto looked back and a mountain lion appeared behind him. Makoto looked unimpressed. He wasn't afraid of any pain he could receive from this Lion. So instead he looked at his dad who was still concentrating on his martial arts.

The Lion then growled mad and pounced on Makoto. Makoto a little shocked tried to dodge, but the mountain lions claws slashed his arm, bringing blood out. The Lion then growled harder as it looked at the injured Makoto, who was still not reacting, and was getting closer to him. But the lion then stopped in his tracks as he felt a blood-curling fear over a powerful bloodthirst targeted at him. Looking where it came from, it was Minato, who after seeing his son injured was enraged.

The Lion then tried to run in fear, before Minato swung his blade. Makoto picked up his camera again looking at the destruction Minato had brought the mountain lion was dead sliced in half. 5 miles of trees where simply cut and a nearby hill fell over the slice. Minato then dashed to his son.

"Makoto, are you ok?"- Minato said holding his son's bleeding arm, and Makoto nodded as a response. Minato looked mad – "Makoto why didn't you tell me there was a Mountain Lion! You Could have been hurt!"- he screamed, shocking and scaring Makoto. He then tore up some of the cloth on his kimono and started bandaging Makoto – "I'm sorry"- Minato heard Makoto say shily. He looked at Makoto who was crying a bit. Minato calmed a little and smiled – "it's ok. But Makoto, I know… that what happened to you there well… changed your life. But you can't keep getting hurt like this… It makes me worry"- Makoto just nodded softly. Minato then petted Makoto's head – "come on let's go buy some ice-cream before we go home"- Makoto nodded again and turned off his camera.

Byakuya and Kyoko were shocked. Not only for the sweet father son's moment but instead for the power Minato Naegi had. Yeah his body strength probably wasn't as strong as the other captains, but the fact that his abilities could rise so much and increase his overall power with the moonlight-style, showed the potential of the same. And if someone who had already captain level were to learn it, who could imagine is power

"See?!"- Makoto said smiling proudly. Before putting his phone on his pocket – "I see… the Moonlight-style indeed has incredible potential"- Byakuya said analyzing the tape – "Well yeah that too"- Makoto said smiling. Confusing them – "at first… I did it to be stronger. But the truth is… I having fun with my dad"- he said smiling. Both Byakuya and Kyoko smiled a little bit.

"Umm Makoto?"- they then hear nearby as Sayaka walked closer to them. Kyoko immediately went into defensive as she stood next to Makoto – "*don't you think you are going a little far?*"- whispered Byakuya, only for her to shush him – "Actually I have to tell you I can't go to sword practice today. I received a call. The Idol group has an interview today for a magazine… can you please tell Minato-sensei?"- she asked, and Makoto nodded, she then smiled – "thank you, I'm going to tell them"-she said as she picked up her phone and left the room. – "Well I guess that means I have to go alone"- Makoto said – "we can go with you!"- Kyoko then said surprising both of them – "wait for what?"- Kyoko then looked serious at Byakuya, who just sighed – "I guess we can go"- he said, Makoto then smiled – "are you sure? It isn't that interesting"- he admitted but they both nodded – "Thanks guys"- Just then the bell rang and classes started again.

Hours later the class finally finished and the trio went out of the classroom. They decided to first change clothes in their housing and decided to meet 1 hour later. The hour passed and both Byakuya (now wearing a light blue tux) and Makoto (who had a bag, and was wearing a short sleeve hoodie and jeans were waiting for Kyoko. Makoto was currently talking to his dad – "Are you sure? Oh ok! Bye dad"- Makoto then put off the phone – "That was my dad. He said since Sayaka isn't going it would be better to cancel. I guess he will still try to…"- but stayed silent. Byakuya understood… Minato was still searching for his wife. They both then stood there silent.

"Hey Byakuya… can I ask you something personal?"- he asked him. Byakuya then looked a bit shocked over that – "Sorry… I know you don't like those. But I wanted to ask you as my best friend, and because you are extremely honest… to a fault" – Byakuya then sighed and nodded, Makoto then sat on the ground and looked up – "Byakuya, am I a bad person for not wanting to see my mom ever again?"- Byakuya eyes widened over what he heard, making Makoto laugh a bit – "I guess I am"- he admitted, with a smile and a sad stare. Byakuya then sighed and sat as well – "I don't know if you are a bad person Makoto. The things you have seen, the things you have suffered, nobody can understand that. I can't tell you are good because your mom tried to kill you, nor I can tell you are a bad person because you don't want to see her, Only you know how to feel"- Byakuya said making Makoto smile

"You know for as much as you hate when people ask you for personal questions, you are good at giving advise"- Makoto joked – "shove it"- He said, making him laugh. Makoto then stood up – "Well since I don't have to go train anymore, I should better go study… my grades are barely passing"- As he finished saying Kyoko finally appeared and Makoto instantly blushed. She was wearing a light blue strapless blouse, and a slightly darker blue skirt, long boots and her hair down – "Sorry I was late"- Kyoko apologized before looking at both of them who looked shocked – "Why were you leaving?"-

Makoto then explained the whole situation, except the conversation he just had with Byakuya. Surprised and disappointed – "Oh ok"-she said a little sadly. Byakuya then stood up – "You two should go on a date"- He said surprising both blushing fools – "WHAT!?"

"The three of us have been working so much lately, we haven't had any free time to rest. So, of course, I'll take this as an opportunity to enjoy myself, alone. But since you two are already dressed, you should go out together"- Byakuya said making them both embarrassed – "well I'll see myself out" – and he left. Leaving the two of them alone. They then looked at each other and blushed and looked away – "So… what do you want to do?"- Asked Makoto softly looking away embarrassed – "well, what you were going to do after talking to your dad?" – she asked. He then explained his previous plans

"we can do that together!"- Kyoko said, surprising him. Before he looked a little confused – "are you sure… it doesn't sound so fun."- he admitted, but she looked determined – "I want to help you study. After all, even if we are Ultimate Student, we are still high school students, and we have to pass our classes"- she said and Makoto smiled – "ok let's go"

….

They both studied in Makoto's room for about 2 hours, learning everything they could for the exam the next day. After studying for so long they both then decided to rest for a while – "Oh my god that was long" – Makoto complained as he stretched his body before doing a kickflip up and stood. He then walked to his mini-fridge – "Do you want something?" – She nodded and asked for some green tea. He then gave it to her and sat again. As they both drank some tea.

"So… is it true that you have had sex with Junko?"- She asked making him spit the tea. – "No I haven't"- he said blushing embarrassed, making her giggle – "yeah I thought so. Makoto… I'm sorry" – she apologized confusing him – "I guess I became a little extra jealous when I heard that. Even though I know that you wouldn't lie to me. Also, Junko likes to lie a lot."- she joked smiling, making him smile as well.

Usami then appeared and jumped on top of Makoto, who started petting him softly – "Wow she really cares for you"- Kyoko said getting closer to him, and looking at him pet the calm cute bunny – "yeah… I think she likes me because Chiaki wants to protect me."- Makoto said with a soft smile.

After a couple of minutes Usami fell asleep. Makoto then softly placed it on her bed. Makoto then walked to Kyoko – "Ok let's keep studying"- he said. Kyoko then looked confused – "are you sure you should talk so loud?"- She asked – "Don't worry, Usami sleeps like a rock, nothing can wake her up"

"Um, Makoto… when was the last time you drank blood?"- she asked him, shocking him – "where did that come from?"- he asked surprised – "well… I mean… it has been a while since you have drunk my blood. So I was wondering… if you have been drinking from someone else"- she asked shily

"Not really. It's been weeks since the last time I have drunk it"- he said blushing shily as well – "well let's keep studying"- he said trying change the subject – "Do you want to?"- she said and Makoto looked surprised at her, before looking away – "I mean we shouldn't"

"well nobody is watching" – she admitted. They both then looked at each other and blushed before looking away – "I mean…"- Makoto then took a peek at her seeing her shoulders nervously – "you can bite me if you want"- she said. Makoto then took a long breath and looked at her before she looked at him. He then got closer and closed her eyes, and she closed her eyes waiting for him. Before they both kissed, a long passionate kiss. After the kiss Makoto softly moved her hair from her neck. And slowly got closer as his fangs were about to hit her neck, she closed her eyes in waiting

*KNOCK**KNOCK**KNOCK*

They both then tensed up and separated – "yes?" – he asked – "Makoto is me Jin"- both of their eyes then widened - "Umm yes... I'll go in a second"- Makoto then stood and walked to the door before opening it – "hi Mr. Kirigiri"- he said a little nervous, confusing him – "Makoto are you ok… you never call me Mr…"- but then he noticed Kyoko was in the back sitting on the bed. Makoto got a little nervous when he heard Jin's heart rate increase – "Makoto… why is Kyoko here?"- Makoto could feel a slight bloodlust coming from him – "well.."

"We are studying for the exam of tomorrow"- Kyoko responded as calmly as possible. Jin then analyzed her face for any lies and couldn't find anything. He then sighed – "well, I think is better you are here as well"

He then entered the room and sat on Makoto's desk chair. Makoto then started to sit on his bed next to Kyoko. Only to hear Jin's heartbeat rise, and decided to better sit on the floor – "are you sure Makoto?"- Jin asked and he smiled awkwardly – "yeah sure" – Kyoko then looked mad at her father

"well Makoto… we need you to return to the Reaper association"- Jin said shocking them – "wait, what? Why? I thought…"- but Jin stopped him – "we received something today"- he said as he pulled out a tablet and showed some info – "a spy we have, has finally located the neo Exorcist main base here in *This country*"- he said shocking them. Makoto then stood up – "well if you do why haven't you gone to raid the place?"- Makoto said a little mad. But Jin sighed – "we can't"- he said shocking them

"The government is currently protecting them"- he said – "what do you mean"- Kyoko asked confused and surprised over his statement – "because the government identifies the ghouls as the mayor threat of humanity, they are currently protecting the three groups of exorcists, Reapers and Neo exorcists from infighting, even providing them military level weaponry and armies. They even are going to announce at the end of the week the Ghoul hunter association. A group of the three areas of ghoul hunting and provide them with compensation and prestige for their work"- he explained making Makoto mad

"So they are trying to make Ghoul hunting a nonchalant issue, to bring false hope to the public?"- Makoto asked a little enraged. Making Jin sigh – "Whether is false hope or real, we can't deny the fact that because of these rules we can't attack them"- Makoto sighed and sat on his bed – "so what do you want me to do?"

"What I'm going to say to you… is incredibly irregular and nonsensical. But please listen to me before saying anything"- He said and Makoto nodded – "also you Kyoko"- Kyoko then nodded as well. Jin then took a long breath

"I want you to start an Underground Vigilante mafia"
