I don't know what to add… except…

So I re-re-read the whole thing I wrote… and noticed… a lot of mistakes. It's kind of embarrassing, but ok. First things first. I'm sorry I changed Makoto's dad's name from Lucas to Minato… really bad. Also, I noticed I didn't explain that after the betrayal of Kazuo, Mukuro abandoned the Normal Exorcist and joined as a Reaper, or better yet a part of the Sanguis Famiglia. There's a lot of plot points I had forgotten, which I'll try to add more, etc.

Also, I noticed I messed up the explanation of Chiaki. You see The AV source was Nagito, from the special mixture of Makoto's blood, ghoul serum, chemicals, and nanobots, the AV was created. But like Makoto Vampirism the experiment was deadly with a low chance of working. So Nagito, who has high luck, was experimented on and succeded in turning into basically an AV Vampire. Chiaki and Martel are the first experiments of humans with AV abilities, but because their power is closer to the source of Nagito, they have special abilities and can control other people AV at a certain level. Neo Exorcist can use the AV but only to a small degree, only being able to use the one inside their bodies to fight. So basically the relation of the AV and Vampirism is the same. With a source, an upgraded version and a weaker version (Vampires/ Dhampir/ Ghouls)

To Guiltyofmycrimess I was surprised when on the 9 of July you basically read all of Ultimate Highschool Assassin. I know this because I received an email after each review you gave, and the first one was from chapter 5 and the last was from chapter 62. I don't know if you fully finished it, but I was surprised none the less. I read all the reviews and although it doesn't sound like it was, I hope you liked the story. BIHP 37: Project Azazel

Rakdos (from chapter 21) stood from the bench where they were experimenting on him, he rose his hand and could feel an immense power coming from inside him – "So how do you feel Rakdos?"- Asked dr. Tsesuna as he walked closer to him – "It's amazing… this surge of power, is this how the vampire feels?"- He asked only for the Dr. to laugh – "Of course not, compared to his body composition, you are but simple hatchlings. To be honest, my objective was to gather more of my little vampire's DNA to perfect the project, but I guess we can still activate project Azazel with what little we have"- He said complaining a bit. Rakdos then looked at his master – "Dr. May I ask why did you decide to accelerate the project?"- Dr. Tsesuna then looked mad at him – "Because those disgusting Neo exorcists are still interfering with my experiment. If they manage to kill him, all the hard work I spent would have been for nothing, I can't let that happen. We have to crush everyone who is against us"- He said madly. Rakdos then bowed in pure loyalty to the Dr. – "I shall obey any order you give me my Master"- Rakdos said while the Dr. smiled.

Just then the doors opened and Tsumugi entered with Korekiyo – "Good afternoon Dr."- she said smiling. The Dr. then looked at her – "Good afternoon Tsumugi-chan, I heard the mission you received from the higher-ups went well"- Tsesuna said as Tsumugi smiled – "Yep, we managed to bring down their base completely, and I even saw Makoto there"- She said smiling and blushing while holding her face like she was living a Fantasy – "Oh it's that so? And how is my Little Vampire?"

"He looked fine"- The Dr. then laughed – "So does that mean what I think?"- Tsumugi said, her face revealing her evil soul – "Yes… it's time to get him back"- As he said that the other elite ghouls appeared – "we shall follow your orders"

"You two idiots!"- Screamed Kijo (Jin was on the school working as a Principal at the moment) to both Izuru and Makoto who was just listening after they read Makoto's report – "How could you raid the Neo-exorcist, without permission?"- Izuru then sighed before he was going to say something – "as the report tells, we heard rumors of a ghoul raid into the Neo-exorcist base, so as the leader I thought it would be the best moment to enter and investigate, That's why I gave the order to go"- Izuru looked shocked before looking at Makoto, was he taking all the blame? Kijo then looked at Izuru

"Izuru, why didn't you try to stop him?"- Kijo then asked him a bit mad. Izuru then sighed, he found kind of annoying that Makoto was helping him but gave in either way – "At the moment I agreed with his line of thinking, but was ready to interfere and stop him if necessary"- He lied, which Kijo bought, making him sigh – "while I admit that the info gathered is extremely beneficial. I still believe that the fact you broke the rules and acted in such disregard of the rules must be punished"- Makoto was going to complain only to be stopped by Kijo – "I know what are you going to say Makoto, but while you have free movement in some regards, openly attacking an enemy base is something you weren't allowed to do" – He said serious making Makoto gulp – "sorry"- he apologized. Kijo then sighed heavily

"I'll announce your punishment later, I still need some time to think about it"- He said and Makoto looked a little relieved, Kijo then held both his hands and looked at them – "changing the subject, I'll need that both of you assist the meeting today"- Kijo said confusing them – "Wait there is a meeting today?"- Makoto said confused. Kijo then nodded

"The Vatican exorcist contacted us"- Makoto's and Izuru's then eyes widened – "they want to talk with us about the current situation, with the sudden rise of ghoul attacks and the Neo exorcist rising against the Vatican and creating their religion. So Although our relationship with the Exorcists are negative, we believe is better to compromise and find a suitable decision, especially since we are the only two groups who are allied"- Kijo explained confusing Makoto

"And… so why should I assist, I mean one of the set rules the Ghoul hunting association created was that I was fired from the reapers… that's why I had to go, Vigilante, wasn't it?"- Makoto asked and Kijo nodded – "indeed that is the fact, but they called for your assistance specifically"- Makoto looked suspicious but accepted either way. Just then Makoto's stomach then started growling hard, ruining the moment, Makoto looked a bit embarrassed, as Izuru facepalmed and Kijo sighed – "The meeting will be at 4 pm just go get some lunch"- Makoto then nodded and both him and Izuru left. Leaving Kijo processing all the info around.

Makoto and Izuru then reunited with the team, all in their civilian clothes, sitting on the resting area of the building next to the Togami, a small 2-floor warehouse building that the Togami bought so they could use as a main base for the Mafia, fully decked out with everything they would need for their work. As the door opened and the duo entered they went to them – "So?"- asked Kyoko while everyone looked serious – "Well…"- Makoto and Izuru then explained the whole situation. Everyone then calmed down and returned to their seats – "I see, so the Exorcist wants to talk with us?"- Sakura said thoughtful as she drank some tea made by Hina (who although wasn't officially part of the team, she would still hang out with them) before shaking, it was too sweet.

"Apparently"- Makoto said as he sat on a bean bag (personally chosen by him) and started relaxing – "So… what should we do?"- asked Maki, before Makoto's stomach growl – "I'm starving"- Makoto said as he looked up from his bean bag, the group then scuffed and some giggled over how relaxed he was – "Hey Togami, can we go eat Sushi today?"- Asked Makoto excited, before Byakuya sighed – "delivery or should we go to the shop?"- Makoto and everyone then looked surprised – "wait seriously?"- Makoto asked and Byakuya sighed again

"Well, I believe sometimes is necessary to increase morale"- Everyone then looked surprised as Byakuya called his assistant (his sister) – "Shinobu please send multiple Sushi plates to the Sanguis base, Thanks"- he said. They looked kind of confused as he sat in one of the chairs of the dining table.

Their eyes then widened as the door quickly opened and an army of butlers and maid entered. They quickly decorated the table with a Japanese style and guided everyone to the table, where a famous Sushi master and his cooks, brought a beautiful feast of multiple sushi plates and recipes. Shinobu then walked to the table – "It's this to your liking young master?"- she asked and Byakuya nodded – "Hey Shinobu you can eat with us if you want"- Makoto said. Shinobu then glared at Makoto, shocking everyone (except Byakuya), before looking happily at her brother – "Well young master I'll take my leave"- Byakuya then looked at her – "Are you sure? I agree with Makoto, you should stay and eat with us"- he said seriously. Shinobu then twitched of happiness, her eyes in full hearts, before she coughed and calmed down – "I appreciate the offer, but I have some unfinished business and already ate. But thanks"- She and the service then left. At the exception of Makoto, Kyoko, Izuru, and Byakuya, everyone looked shocked

"What just happened?"- Asked Sayaka, still in shock over how Shinobu just acted – "Shinobu is a Brother con, she believes that Byakuya is the most beautiful person and that we are corrupting and dirtying him by spending time with him"- Makoto, whispered a bit so Byakuya couldn't listen, surprising them even more…

"I… see"

After a delicious meal and resting, 4 pm finally came and Makoto and his entire team walked to the meeting on their civilian clothes, and as they got to the Hallway he noticed a group of exorcists in their uniform. But the most prominent one was a tall strong man in what looked like armor, Rugged squarish face, golden beard, and a scar on his left eye.

They recognized him, it was the man next to the pope from the day of showing the existence of the Ghouls (chapter 19) he then looked at Makoto, and his eyes turned serious and menacing, making everyone (except Makoto) starting to look suspiciously about what he was going to do. From behind him appeared a small girl with red hair, the same age as Makoto and the others, dressed in a priestess white robe – "sorry about him, he just gets nervous while meeting new people"- she said, the group then looked surprised again the man and noticed that she was right, he wasn't making a menacing face, instead, he was nervous and sweating a bunch.

"please everyone, enter the auditorium. the meeting it's about to begin"- they all then started to enter. As he walked in, felt Ezio flying pointing at a place. Makoto then looked and noticed a couple of small teens, one with a witch hat and the other with a horned beanie hat. He could feel that they were strong.

The reunion table was in a round auditorium. In the center table were Jin (who returned from his job as headmaster) Kijo, Archbishop Lorenzo, Dio (the large man). Makoto and his team found their seats and sat down, as did everyone else. Once they were all ready Kijo then nodded.

"Good afternoon everyone, we appreciate your assistance"- he said bowing a bit in respect, everyone then responded the same way – "Today we have reunited under the petition of the Vatican exorcists…"

"Crusaders"- Corrected Dio, confusing Kijo – "excuse me?"- he asked truly confused, he then looked calm and determined- "We are now called Crusaders since the effects of Neo exorcist has created a bad reputation and Image on our name"- seeing the reaction of everyone, he felt embarrassed over her actions before sitting again. Kijo then sighed

"Ok, my apologies. Today we have reunited under the petition of the Vatican Crusader. Under what terms have you called this meeting?" – Kijo asked as he sat back again. Archbishop Lorenzo then stood

"I appreciate the fact that the Togami company was able to invite us today. The reason for this meeting is for us to ally against the Neo Exorcists and the Ghouls"- After those words came from his mouth the room became a raging storm as Crusader (yeah I changed their name, sue me) and Reapers started screaming to each other – "How dare you to ask for collaboration after your betrayal! We didn't do that! You Exorcists killed our men! We are Crusaders, not Exorcist!"- Makoto, Maki, and Izuru a bit felt pain as the roars hurt their ears more than to the other people.

"ENOUGH!"- everyone went silent as Kijo imposed his order, silencing both Crusaders and Reapers – "I understand that tensions are high, and there's been a heated rivalry between each other. But the current situation requires that we work together. I'm not asking you to forgive each other, but at least listen to each other before fighting and complaining"- As Kijo finished everyone went silent, both sides feeling a bit of regret over their actions. Kijo then sat again and Lorenzo nodded – "Thank Mr. Togami"- Lorenzo then looked forward – "Although what we as an association did has no forgiveness, I still beg you to listen. We were tricked by Kazuo and fell into his lies, and because of that a lot of innocent people and ghouls died"- The reaper looked shocked and mumbling could be heard, as the archbishop called some ghouls innocent.

"The previous Pope, disagreed with our actions, being saved by the Vampire Makoto Naegi, he knew that being a vampire or a ghoul didn't mean being an evil being. That some people, be it human, Ghoul or even Vampire, were good and caring people"- The crusaders listened closely as they were thoughtful, they knew what he was saying was true, but didn't want to fully admit it – "But because of this reasoning, the pope was murdered by Kazuo. While Kazuo wanted humans to kill every being other than humans. The Pope Jorge Mario Bergoglio believed we could find a way to find peace to all of us"

"That is the reason I and the current council want to join in with the reapers officially, not only to increase our resources and opportunities to beat the Neo Exorcist, but also so the crusaders can learn about human and ghoul interactions and create a new type of society, no betrayal, no hate, just peace"- everyone looked shocked over the suggestion, Lorenzo then bowed – "Thanks for listening"- just like the first time everyone roared, but instead anger, it was a roar of approval. His words had reached them and they wanted to help.

After the meeting and the official signing of an alliance. Makoto and his crew went out and looked a little surprised. Both exorcists and reapers were celebrating the union together. Makoto couldn't stop himself from smiling if this union prevailed… maybe there was a chance to create a better world.

"Impressive how a speech can motivate and change people"- Byakuya said – "Well it shouldn't surprise us… after all, Makoto is always doing one to help each of us"- Sayaka joked, making everyone (except Makoto) laugh, even Izuru a bit. After they laughed they decided to leave when…

"Wait, Makoto"- They heard Jin say as he got closer to them – "Can you come to the office for a while? we still need to talk something with you"- They all looked confused, but Makoto nodded. The others then decided to wait for Makoto in their base and said goodbye to Makoto.

Makoto and Jin finally arrived at the office, where other than Kijo, Lorenzo, and Dio, confusing Makoto – "umm hi?"- asked Makoto confused. The two of them then joined their hands in prayer – "Good afternoon Makoto Naegi, we are thankful you came"- Makoto felt a bit… weird. After what happened to him he was an atheist (no judging any religion) so seeing them made him feel a bit odd.

"Hi, umm… can I ask… why am I here?"- Makoto asked confused, Kijo then looked at them and Lorenzo nodded – "First, as a representative of the church, I want to apologize"- Makoto looked a bit surprised over what he said - "although there is no excuse how the Vatican church has been treating you, we wish you would forgive us"

"It's ok… but aren't you guys also afraid of me?"- He said before both Dio and Lorenzo then looked determined, surprising him a bit – "We aren't. you see unlike other crusaders and bishops of the church, we were the direct bodyguard and assistant of the previous pope. And while others spread fear propaganda about you. The pope truly believed in your kindness and sense of justice. So because he believed in you. We will as well"- Dio explained. Makoto looked a bit shocked before he smiled – "thanks"

"that is why we wanted to help you"- Lorenzo explained as Makoto looked confused – "Mr. Togami and Mr. Kirigiri explained to us the plan they have with your secret job"- Makoto looked surprised over at the duo, who just nodded – "So we want to send two of our best Crusaders to assist you"- Makoto then looked curious, wondering who they were – "We will present them in due time. But we wish they can be of assistance"- Makoto and Lorenzo then shook hands

The next day arrived, after the meeting, he explained everything to his team before they went into a full night hunt. After it, they returned to their rooms and rested. Makoto was finishing changing his clothes when he heard someone knock. He walked to the door and opened it seeing Sayaka smiling – "how is it possible that you aren't tired"- he said before yawning, she then giggled a bit – "well I have some training from being an Idol"- she said and Makoto sighed, before his eyes widened – "oh yeah… how is your Idol career? I hope is not too taxing"- he said a bit apologetic – "don't worry, currently, we are working a little bit less considering the state of the world, so for the first time in a while, I have a lot of time to waste"- Makoto then sighed of relief, he knew how important being an Idol was to her, so he didn't want to ruin her career only for her to help him – "thanks"- he said, she then smiled and kissed his cheek surprising him – "anytime"

Makoto grabbed his bag with Usami, and they went to the cafeteria where they started eating, and one by one the others appeared – "Good morning guys"- Leon said as he arrived with Teruteru. Just then, Mahiru, Hiyoko, and Mikan entered – "Stop keeping secrets, you cow!"- Hiyoko screamed at Mikan who was trying her best to not cry – "Hiyoko, it's ok for Mikan to keep some of her secrets"- Mahiru said trying to stop the fight – "But Mahiru! She has been keeping secrets from us… why else she wouldn't want to hang out with us today"- Hiyoko said complaining.

"Good morning Hiyoko sempai, Mahiru sempai, and Mikan sempai"- the other said as they sat Mahiru then looked at Makoto and looked confused and interested, as she watches closer at him – "Mahiru sempai?"- he asked confused as everyone looked confused at him as well - "Uhm… I see" – she said confusing, even more, everyone – "so that's why girls like you"- his face immediately exploded in blush and both Leon and Teruteru dashed to sit on his table… maybe if they learn his secret they could get dates – "What do you mean Mahiru?" – Asked Teruteru interested – "You know why girls like Makoto?"- he said a bit obsessive for learning the masters secret – "Yep, or a least a bit of it… is his face"- she said confidently as everyone looked confused… other than Makoto's hair… his face looked as plain as possible – "Are you sure Mahiru? He just looks like a squirt to me"- Hiyoko said, making him laugh a bit embarrassed.

"It's that so then why don't you try looking directly at him?" – Mahiru said. Hiyoko looked confused before she sighed and she looked at Makoto… she then stared a bit, and then felt her heart start to flutter and her face blush. She couldn't understand what this feeling was. After she couldn't take it anymore she quickly looked away – "see?"- Mahiru said as Mikan, Sayaka, Leon, and Teruteru looked astonished. Makoto, on the other hand, was confused

"But why?"- Asked Teruteru like a philosopher trying to find an answer of the universe – "the reason is that Makoto's face is like a beautiful picture, it tells a complete story"- they all listened immersed into the info while Makoto still looked confused – "Although he looks rather plain, weak and a bit cute"- she said as Makoto twitch receiving psychological damage – "his eyes show how he is, the pureness of his soul, his pain, his loyalty to those he cares for, but mostly his determination and his strength, is captivating and attractive. So girls fall for it"- they were astonished over the explanation, and Sayaka knew… she was right.

"Wait then what about mine?"- asked Leon interested in the topic, Mahiru looked for a bit – "well you are rather attractive, but it just shows how much you are trying to look cool"- Leon then sighed – "and me?"- Teruteru asked when suddenly Sonia and Ibuki crashed into the table – "what are you guys talking about?"- completely blocking Teruteru.

After they ate Makoto then noticed that everyone was there except Kyoko, making him sigh, she probably was either sleeping or working. Makoto then took a coffee to go and some food and walked to Kyoko's room, while everyone left for the class, he explained he was going to wake Kyoko up.

He arrived at Kyoko's room and knocked. After a couple of seconds, Kyoko opened up yawning still of her PJ – "Makoto? Why are you here?"- Makoto then sighed and invited himself to her room – "I brought you breakfast and coffee since we are late for school"- Kyoko eyes widened a bit before she blushed – "Here"- He said as he cleaned her desk and placed a plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast on it with a fork and a knife. She smiled and the first thing she did was try the coffee. She looked surprised, it was exactly as she liked it, black coffee, with a tiny hint of cinnamon. Makoto looked a bit proud over her reaction – "Surprised? How long do you think I known you for?"- he said. After she ate he then stood up from her bed – "well let's go to class, we are already late"

"I'm not going"- she said surprising him – "I have a permit from my dad… I'm taking the day off"- Makoto looked confused for a bit before he understood – "You are going to visit your mom right?"- Kyoko then smiled softly – "Yeah… it's been a while since the last time, so I wanted to make sure I went"- Makoto then sighed - "Well then I'm going with you"- Kyoko was a bit surprised – "I mean… I'm already late. And we haven't done anything together since we studied together. So I can go"- He said smiling, showing his fangs, he knew that for Kyoko is was hard to go visit her mom since she still felt guilty over what happened to her, even if it wasn't her fault at all

"Thanks, Makoto".

Makoto and Kyoko arrived at the Special Togami hospital As a petition of Makoto they stopped in a flowery to buy purple tulips. The same place where Makoto did his check-up. the place was highly protected. After they were checked and registered as visitors, they both went to the room where Sinon (Kyoko's Mom) was. There she was, in the same bed, her body connected to machinery keeping her alive, asleep and looking not even a year older. They placed the flowers on the Jar nearby.

Kyoko then walked to her mother, looking sadly – "I can't believe it has been 9 years"- she said as she held her mother's hand, and tears started forming – "If she woke up right now… I wonder if she would even recognize me?"- her eyes then widened as she felt Makoto pet her head – "Of course she would… after all you are exactly like her, a strong, beautiful, and determined woman. I bet she would know the moment her eyes open"- Makoto then looked surprised as Kyoko hugged him and cried.

After she calmed down. They stayed there for a while, Kyoko was telling her mom all the stories of everything that had happened since the last time she visited. Telling about the sad moments, the happy ones, The Jealous ones, she told as she looked mad at Makoto who just laughed nervously, and finally of everything she wanted to tell her when she would wake up. She teared up again.

As Makoto listened he then felt something, as Ezio appeared in front of him… holding her hand like she wanted to take him somewhere. Makoto was confused but took it. Just then he looked around himself… he no longer was in the hospital… instead, he was flying in a flower field. Both Ezio and he then landed on the placed – "Ezio… where are we?"- Ezio shook her head and instead pointed to a place. Makoto looked and his eyes widened as he saw Kyoko standing there in a sundress – "Kyoko…no… you aren't Kyoko"- Makoto, noticed some differences… her hands were fine, and although she looked younger he knew… she was Sinon

"Ms. Kirigiri?"- Makoto asked, Sinon then smiled – "Oh if it is the young Makoto… how big you look, Thanks for bringing him here ms. Ghost"- she said smiling, he, on the other hand, was too awestruck to understand what was happening – "we are we Ezio?"- he asked her Ezio then smiled sadly – "we are inside her mind and soul"- Makoto looked shocked – "what do you mean?"

"That day… I died"- Sinon said shocking Makoto – "when the ghoul hit me my rib bones broke and it stabbed my heart"- Makoto looked in disbelief – "But that can't be… you are alive… you are just in a coma"- he explained trying to understand

"It's because of you"- Ezio said confusing him – "When you went berserk to protect Kyoko and Sinon, your blood responded to your will and healed Sinon. But unlike Tsumugi who turned into a Dhampir, her soul was too far apart… so she didn't turn. Instead…"- She didn't want to finish but Makoto understood either way

"I see… I tethered her soul into the living world"- Makoto said softly. Ezio then looked away a bit sad – "Makoto this isn't your fault… I was the one who decided to fight… and you tried to protect me. The reason I called you today… was so you can tell my family to move on"- Makoto listened as he looked to the floor – "I don't want to be the reason they are holding back. I want Jin to find a new love… I want Kyoko to succeed and fight… And I know they will hold back because of me… so please tell them… to let me go"- Ezio looked uncomfortable and sad. What Sinon was asking Makoto was to let her die.

Out of nowhere Makoto slapped both his cheeks, shocking both of them – "ok now I know what I'll do"- they both looked shocked and confused – "I just have to grow stronger and bring you back to life"- He said determined shocking both of them – "What?"- Sinon asked confused. Makoto then smiled openly – "If I'm somehow keeping your soul alive… then I just have to return it to your body. That way you can be alive again"

"But Makoto… you can't do that… that's going against the circle of life"- Sinon said… somehow she felt… he could do it. Makoto then looked determined – "So what? I'm already a proof that the circle isn't all perfect. I know I'm being childish and selfish… but… I want you to see Kyoko again… to see Jin again… I want you to smile with them, live with them…and eventually, die with them. So if I have to break the cycle of death… if I have to go against the world then I'll do it"- Sinon looked utterly shocked – "But why?"- she asked… she couldn't understand why he was so determined. Ezio then smiled, she knew his heart was true

"Because I love Kyoko… and seeing you again would make her happy"-Sinon started crying, her soul finally honest to herself… she also wanted to see them again… to hug her daughter, to kiss her husband… she loved them… and wanted to see them again.

Makoto then looked at Ezio – "Ezio, sorry… I guess I just added more work to our plate"- Ezio then scuffed – "Yes I know, now we have to overwork"- she said making him laugh nervously before she kissed his cheek – "but is that kindness that makes me believe in you"- Makoto smiled and then looked at Sinon – "Thanks Makoto"- Makoto then nodded

"Makoto?" – Kyoko asked as Makoto woke up. Apparently, he was dozing off, noticing that Usami was also sleeping on his lap – "are you ok?"- she asked worried, looking at her face Makoto then smiled softly – "Yes I am… just making myself a promise"- she then smiled and they both started to leave, as they walked to the entrance Kyoko then stopped – "Bye mom… I love you"

After they left and ate in a small fast food restaurant, they decided to go back to school. Since he went missing, Makoto received a call from Jin and had to explain everything, receiving a huge scolding from him. So how did you guys met?"- he asked as he sat. while he did this, Maki, Sayaka, Junko, and Kyoko noticed something… for some reason he was rather tense – "well I was practicing batting when she arrived and talked about how she liked baseball… we talked for a long while and I don't know man, we simply connected"- Leon explained excitedly

"Oh really… great"- Makoto said with a nervous laugh.
