Chapter 38: Project Azazel part 2

"Oh really… great"- Makoto said with a nervous laugh. Luzia then looked to the distance – "Oh sorry Leon I have to leave, my friends are waiting"- Leon looked a bit disappointed but nodded, while Makoto's eyes were fully widened… Friends? For a second he could feel give a dark smile. Makoto then felt a hand on his shoulder – "Sorry guys… but we have to take Luzia back to class with us"- Makoto then slowly looked at who just touched him and Saw Rakdos there and the others behind him.

Somehow, without his knowledge or even the Reaper association, the ghouls infiltrated Hope's Peak.

While Leon said goodbye to Luzia, without his knowledge Rakdos whispered to Makoto – "If you tell your higher-ups, we will make sure to kill as many humans as possible before we are caught"- Makoto clenched his fist in anger, shocking Sakura, Maki, Mukuro, Mondo and a little bit Sayaka, since he was releasing a ton of bloodthirst – "after classes meet us on the roof of the school, you better come along… of we will make sure you regret it"- Makoto glared at him – "If you do anything I'll make you suffer"- Rakdos then smiled – "We won't do anything is you don't" – Rakdos then looked at Luzia – "Luzia we are late to the class"- Luzia then sighed- "see you tomorrow Leon?"- Leon then smiled – "of course"- he said happy – "nice to meet you Makoto"

Rakdos and Leon then left them – "wow isn't she amazing?"- Leon said lovestruck, while Makoto looked mad – "Makoto are you ok?"- Makoto then looked away thinking a bit, he then smiled – "it's nothing, just thinking a bit"- Leon then sighed smiling – "well then let's go… classes are starting"- Makoto nodded

Everyone had noticed that Makoto was rather silent and thoughtful during classes. Like he had a heavy thought in his mind… other than that was Leon who looked like a puppy in love. – "Makoto what is the answer?"- Yukizome asked him, but he didn't listen – "Makoto!"- Makoto then popped off his mental bubble – "Uh? What?"- he said returning to normality – "What is the answer to question 6?"- she asked again… Makoto then looked surprised – "I… don't know"- he admitted Yukizome then sighed – "Makoto please try to pay attention"- Makoto looked a bit embarrassed before he sat again and classes continued.

After classes ended Sayaka then walked to Makoto – "so you are ready to train today?"- She said and Makoto noticed she was currently holding the Twilight-Style sword of his dad… confusing him- "wait isn't that dad's sword?"- he asked as he knew she had her own sword made by Izayoi. She then smiled – "well your dad gave the sword to practice, since is the same one I use in training, but when I go to do my secret job I take the other one to make sure this one doesn't break"- she said whispering as Sakura and Hina walked to them – "Can we go as well?"- Sakura said… she really liked watching martial arts training. After hearing all, Makoto instead looked away thoughtful. Before smiling a bit – "sorry I can't go today I have something I have to do, so I can't go"- The trio then looked a bit surprised – "That is ok… then I'll go with you"- Sayaka said, she knew something was happening to Makoto, so she wanted to help him. Makoto then gave a guilty smile – "sorry Sayaka… but I have to do this alone"- he said, she looked a bit hurt but smiled – "ok then another day I guess"- Makoto then nodded – "Please tell everyone I'll probably arrive late to our job today"- he said as he held his bag with Usami – "see you guys later"

After he left, he made sure nobody would follow him. And got to the roof of Hope's Peak. The moment, even without opening the door to the roof he could feel them on the other side. He took a deep breath and as he opened summoned a sword to Markus's neck. Who looked shocked - "Markus violence is not necessary, we came to talk"- Rakdos said, Markus then smiled and walked away to where the group was Makoto then recognized everyone there, they were the Dr. elite ghouls, but the most shocking out all of the people in the group… was Tsumugi, also in a reserve course uniform, who smiled at Makoto – "Hi Makoto. How are you?"- she said smiling. Makoto then sighed, he knew he couldn't overreact, because they were still in the school and the students were still outside… even if he could beat them… they would probably be able to kill some of them.

"So… How and Why are you here?" – Makoto asked. Tsumugi then pouted – "Makoto you being rude"- she said, Makoto then sighed – "well I have my reasons"- Tsumugi then smiled – "oh well, you look cute mad as well"- she said smiling – "and to answer your question, we came here to take classes"- she said, but Makoto didn't believe a single word, especially since the ghouls were glaring at him. Noticing this Tsumugi then sighed

"We came to take you with us"- she said serious – "Well then you made a mistake in coming… because I'm not going"- The ghouls then glared even more at him, preparing to fight, when Tsumugi stopped them – "Makoto… these humans don't care for people like us. Yeah, we made you suffer a lot a while ago. But we really want to give you the life you deserve. That day you were chosen to govern this world, not to be tortured in it"- Tsumugi explained trying to make him understand – "Tsumugi… I'm not interested in governing. I am not a king. I'm just me"- Tsumugi looked sadly – "why? Why can't you understand that humans only want to hurt us?"- Makoto looked away. He knew that there were a lot of people who wanted to kill him… but at the same time, there were people he cares for – "Tsumugi, I'm not going with you. If that's what you are trying to do then just leave"- he said as he started to leave – "I won't tell the higher-ups about you all coming here, think of that as a favor for Tsumugi"- Just as he was going to open the door again, he felt a sudden bloodlust and increase of heat. As he dodged lava that melted the door.

He quickly looked back and noticed Modore's hand covered in lava as he aimed at him -"Wait, the Dr. ordered not to injure him!"-screamed Tsumugi. Rakdos then stepped in – "He also ordered us to get him"- all the ghouls then started transforming – "I see. So we are doing this"- Makoto then used his blood to summon his full costume – "bring it on"

Markus in his beast was the first to act as he dashed in his four legs. He tackled Makoto and started attacking, Makoto dodge every strike. Crouching and summoning his blood claw, punching him away. Quickly reacting he then jumped upward as Luzia shot her spikes at him. Aiming both hands at her, his coat created a blood shield to cover her spikes. Finally landing he made a spear appear as he cut one od the Tentacles from the tentacle ghoul (who's name is Silan). He then quickly spun his spear causing a gust that dispersed the lava of Modore, before crouching and consequently jumping to dodge both Rakdos pincer and tail, landing near the border of the building – "I see you've gotten stronger as well"- Rakdos said congratulating him. Makoto then smiled – "Of course I have"- Rakdos then grin

"Then I guess is time we show you the effects of Project Azazel"- he said, surprising Makoto. They all then started mutating again, but this time felt different… Makoto could feel how his vampire blood was overexcited, like that time with the Oni ghoul. They all had gotten way stronger. Tsumugi on her side was looking mad – "do whatever you want, but don't kill him… or die"- she said as two fuchsia looking bat wings appeared on her back and she started flying.

Makoto looked as they all finished their second mutation state. Modore with red lava strikes in his whole body, heating and melting everything around him, Markus Fur turned red and his body increased in size, as a lion's Mane covered his Tiger face, turning into a crimson Liger, Silan's whole underbody disappeared as Hydra's head appeared under her and her hair turned into snakes, Luzia back summoned 8 spider claws, her hair turned black and dark marks appeared in her face, Rakdos's other hand then turned into an insect black claw, a black carapace covered his mouth and Makoto could see purpled droplets fall to the ground from his tail and a purple smoke coming from said droplets.

"What the hell happened to you guys?"- Makoto said as he could feel his hunger rise and his blood screech, wanting to bite something – "This is the upgrade the doctor gave us, by increasing the ratio of your blood inside of us, we have ascended and gotten to the second level of ghoulism"- Rakdos said proudly – "and once we capture you we will rise more and more until we surpass you"- Tsumugi listened to this and looked mad, how dare they compare themselves to Makoto. She really hated Ghouls, since they were the failure and their blood was so thin, they couldn't understand Makoto's masterpiece.

"Well that is only is you capture me" – Makoto said, his eyes widened as he felt a bloodthirst and saw his blood come out as a claw slash cut his chest. He looked and notice Markus had slashed him. Makoto felt his wound hurt as he started falling. As he started to fall faster and faster he knew, that he needed to stop his fall. He could survive the full fall… but ghoul injuries took time to heal, so the claw slash wouldn't heal for a while and if he fell he would not be in any condition to fight.

Quickly he then summoned a chain spike and sent it to the wall, the chain then tensed and he stopped himself. He dislocated his shoulder but quickly healed. He was holding himself between the 4th and the 5th floor. He looked his chest and noticed the wound wasn't healing –"fuck that hurts"- He complained as saw the blood still pouring. Not only he felt hunger because of their transformation, but at the same time, it hurt like hell.

Makoto then looked up as he saw them jumping from the roof. Luzia and Silan using their spider claws and tentacles to move through the wall, Markus and Rakdos were sky diving directly to him and Modore was sliding down by melting the walls. As Markus fell, he then used his claws to stop his fall, before punching the wall, breaking down a huge part of the wall, including the part Makoto's Chain was stuck. Making Makoto fall again.

The sound and earthquake of the strike surprised the students down below, who started running and escaping from danger, but once in a safe area also started tapping the event. But the most important part was that Makoto's team also noticed the event. Sayaka who was leaving for sword practice and Maki who felt the resonance were the first to notice – "Makoto is there".

As Makoto fell he saw Rakdos going directly at him. Makoto then pulled his chain, and just as his pincer was about to grab Makoto a huge piece of cement flew and hit him. Makoto summoned another chain and pulled himself to a bigger slab of concrete managing to stand on it. He then noticed that Markus and Luzia had managed to also land on it. While Silan sent her hydra to grab Rakdos. Markus then dashed to Makoto who managed to deflect him with his sword, while at the same time barely dodging one of her spikes by jumping sideways, only for him to quickly react and do a cartwheel dodging Markus quick pounce. Makoto's eyes widened as he saw Markus grab one of Luzia's spider claws and spin to pounce again at him. As Markus got closer. Makoto reacted as fast as possible as his blood started turning. Markus looked shocked as Makoto turned his blood into a spear and stabbed the slab somersaulting him. Who went outside the slab and started falling. Taking advantage of his position. Makoto dashed to attack Luzia. Luzia then felt fear as Makoto summoned two swords, he was going to kill her… only for him to slow down, shocking her. Makoto then jumped back as Modore fell into the slab and broke it into a thousand pieces. Makoto then chained Modore, concentrating intensely so even if the blood chain started to boil it would stay together. He then pulled him down crashing him in an empty spot on the floor. After that, he managed to stop his fall by grabbing another part of the Hope's Peak Building, but it was short-lived since the chains were melted by Silan hydra's acid, melting them before he fell to the floor as well.

When he finally stood, he then noticed first, his hand had acid burns that weren't healing, and second, he saw that in front of him were all the ghouls. – "Oh goddammit!"- Makoto complained as he stood again – "we are still doing this" – He complained – "Man are you ok!?"- he then heard Mondo scream as he came to his aid – "Mondo?"- he said, Mondo was also in his costume with a mask to cover his face, while Mondo looked mad at the ghouls, he knew Mondo was mad about Makoto fighting alone – "Uhm…"

"We will talk about that later, we still have to deal with these people"- Makoto then smiled – "I think you are being too nice to him Aur (Mondo's mafia nickname)"- Maki said in costume as well as she arrived as well – "thanks Maki"- he said smiling, Maki then looked away blushing – "my name is Rossa, Cappuccetto Rossa (Maki Mafia name)"- Makoto then smiled – "and they are really mad at you"- and she gave him an earpiece. Makoto then took it and put it on – "Hey guy?"

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!"- he heard Kyoko scream directly to his ear – "I accidentally got into a fight with ghouls"- Makoto said feeling the anger through the phone – "I'm sorry, I promise I'll explain after"- he said hearing a heavy sigh – "ok, Mukuro is giving you support with a sniper and we are making sure then people get evacuated, and that their videos can't tape as good as possible. So make sure to not cause a lot of damage"

"I can't promise you that"- He said as he looked at the ghouls – "they look really mad" – Makoto then got ready – "Well guys prepare to fight... these guys are difficult. He said as he took all his blood pills healing his hand and chest – "Don't fucking worry I am!"- Mondo said, Maki then smiled – "with you till the end"- Makoto then smiled, making Tsumugi jealous – "that bitch"

Makoto then summoned a katana and wakizashi – "I don't care if we win, but everyone, survive"- Makoto said. Makoto and Maki were the first ones to dash of their team, while Rakdos and Markus did the same. As they got closer Markus and Rakdos attacked, only to see them dodge. Their intention was never attacking, Markus Feral instinct then kicked in as he kicked Rakdos and jumped away, dodging the gunshots of Mondo and Mukuro. Makoto and Maki on the other hand kept running to the backline were Luzia, Silan and Modore were. Modore then stood in front of them like a Sumo wrestler, He clashed one of his feet and the floor started melting. Makoto and Maki then quickly reacted as Makoto spun turning his blade to the blunt side Maki then jumped unto his blunt sided sword and Makoto flung her away, over Modore. He then Jumped and from Maki's hair, a chain appeared helping him rise. Modore looked shocked as they breached his defense and were going directly at Luzia and Silan, Makoto then whispered something surprising Maki, who just nodded.

As a reaction, Silan then rose her dress and from it over 10 hydra heads appeared, spraying a rain of acid to the two of them. Makoto went forward – "Dual crimson moon-style. New moons slash"- as he swung his sword it created a burst of wind, spreading the acid around them. Then from Makoto's back, a group of black chains appeared as Maki went to attack them. Luzia quickly reacted and Grabbed Silan before scattering out of there. Seeing them trying to escape Makoto's Wakizashi then Melted as it turned into a large shuriken and he threw it at them. Luzia looked in shock as the Shuriken got closer. Only to be stopped by Rakdos Pincer, who had dashed to the back to protect them. Surprised Makoto then looked back quickly seeing that Markus and Mondo were fighting. Both using their strength to their maximum potential. As Mondo swung his ax and Markus tried to slash him with his claws. Seeing that Makoto then – "Mukuro make sure the big guy doesn't come to us. Maki, can you take care of the two in the back? I'll take care of the leader"- Makoto ordered and the two nodded. Makoto then summoned again his combo of Katana and Wakizashi and the moment his feet touched the floor dashed to Rakdos clashing swords with his pincer.

While that happened Maki dashed to where the duo was. Silan then sends her hydras while Luzia sends her spikes. But this was nothing to Maki who with her hair turned them into blades and started slicing and dicing everything on her way. No matter what they did Maki was able to stop it. And once she was in ranged she turned her hair into black chains grabbing them and capturing them, to the shock of both – "Let us go" – Silan complained – "No I won't Makoto told me to capture you instead of killing you"- she said and they looked mad – "what? Why would he say that?!"- Luzia screamed

"I don't know, but he asked me to do this"- Maki said sighing. Both Luzia and Silan were completely captured. Maki then sighed, before her eyes widened, Mukuro had told her to be careful, She quickly covered herself with her hair as Modore grabbed him. Maki looked confused, as she resisted. She knew how good of a shot she was, so the fact that he managed to escape from her. Maki then looked shocked, as part of his face was missing, instead of looking like a missing hole of lava which was super slowly closing – "don't touch them!"- He screamed as he tried to crush her and melt her. Maki could feel painfully how her hair slowly started to burn and the heat crept in as he also accidentally released the duo, she needed to find a solution

"Please stop touching my friend"- Modore heard behind him. When he looked back he felt a punch hit him with the strength of an on moving train. Maki fell to the ground and when she looked up to see who helped her, looked surprised to see Sakura there, also in her costume – "Maki are you ok?" – Maki then smiled and nodded – "Thanks Sakura"- she then stood up seeing the duo while Sakura paid attention to Modore – "let's fight"

….

While this happened, Mondo and Markus fought. And while Mondo tried his best, he was not as strong as Markus, He was faster, stronger, and had more stamina than him – "It's that all you can do Human?"- Markus screamed as Mondo was in the defensive.

"well if that's it then just… give up!"- He said as he punched Mondo in his chest sending him to his knees – "I won't kill you human. After all, you aren't my target"- Markus said as he looked at Makoto who was fighting against Rakdos. Mondo then looked ashamed as Markus started to leave. He was far too weak… And he hated it. He had trained for this, and yet it wasn't enough. He felt the extreme disappointment on himself. Why did he work so hard… why did he become a reaper?

As the Anger in him started to boil and grow, Markus looked shocked. Somehow… even though his blood should be thin… Markus could feel a resonance with Mondo. As his anger grew more and more Mondo's skin started to redden and steam from his eyes yellow flames started pouring out. In a rage Mondo then swung his ax, Markus then looked shocked and felt fear as he dodged back the floor fully cracked and formed a crater. Like a beast in a rage, he then tried to swing again.

"That's enough Mondo"- Izuru said as he hit Mondo in the back of his neck knocking him down. Markus looked a bit surprised as Izuru place Mondo in a tree – "I will fight you know"- he said as he pulled out his tonfa blade

Makoto and Rakdos were fighting toe to toe. They were both fighting as strong and as fast as possible. Rakdos tried to grab hi with his pincer, only for Makoto to jump and slash from above with both swords, which was covered by Rakdos tail. They both kept fighting. Until Makoto noticed a weak point. He then slashed with his right sword, only for his eyes to widen as Rakdos stabbed his hand with his tail. Makoto quickly jumped back, but it was too late. The poison was already spreading. – "I finally beat you Lucifer"- Rakdos said as he dashed to him with his pincer to decapitate him – "Rakdos Stop!"- Tsumugi ordered, only being ignored, but as he got closer he noticed Blue petals falling

"Twilight Moon-style Crescent moon slash"- Rakdos Managed to block the life-threatening ones but she still managed to sliced his shoulder, chest, and face and sending him flying. Makoto then looked surprised as a beautiful girl with blue hair appeared and saved him – "Sayaka?"- Sayaka then crouched and flick her finger in his head, she was also wearing a mask (part of the costume for day wear) and was currently using the same sword that she had on her – "Makoto you Baka… why did you go to fight alone?"- Makoto then looked a bit ashamed – "sorry"- She then smiled and sighed – "well I'll forgive you after you explain… but for now, I'll protect you. You just concentrate on healing"- Makoto looked surprised and a bit scared – "wait, Sayaka!"- but she dashed to Rakdos

Tsumugi saw this and somehow felt extremely angry. Normally she wouldn't be jealous of Human bitches, since she knew that they could never have what Makoto and Her had…but somehow… her jealousy started bubbling. Sayaka then dashed to Rakdos, only for her to be grabbed by his pincers… or so it looked, his eyes widened as the body of Sayaka turned into smoke and an X shaped slash appeared in his chest – "Damn you are though"- Sayaka complained behind him. He then sent his tail towards her only to see her missing, he then looked for her for a couple of seconds, before listening to the air swirling. Sayaka had jumped and currently was upside down, her back arched in a black-flip. She then looked seriously – "twilight moon-style"- She whispered as she concentrated – "Crescent slash"- she then swung directly to Rakdos's neck. But in a shocking revelation Rakdos managed to grab her sword with his pincer – "Nice try little girl, but you'll need to try harder"- Noticing she wouldn't give up the sword he then swung his pincer throwing her to a tree – "Ahh!"- Rakdos then smiled – "You held this sword with such care… does it really mean that much to you?"- he said smiling with malice under his face mask – "give.. it back"- she said.

….

*Crack*

Her eyes widened as the broken sword fell to the floor, he had just crushed it with his pincer. Sayaka looked in shock, not even able to move as the sword fell… and despair started to creep in. Rakdos then twitched with pleasure as he saw her suffering… he needed to kill her. His tail then rose, and he thrust her

"You bastard!"- Rakdos then felt a blood crushing fear jumping as back as he could possibly. He landed and felt extreme pain as his tail was missing. That was the vampire kid… but it shouldn't be possible, even if he could heal, his poison should have made him unable to fight. He then looked forward and his eyes widened, Makoto's right arm was missing. Seeing this he felt a blood-curdling fear… what kind of monster would give his own arm?

"You bastards. How dare you hurt the people I care. I'll make sure to kill you!" – As he said this his eyes started glowing red/Fuchsia and, all the ghouls, Tsumugi, and Maki fell to the ground in pain as Makoto's resonance was crushing them. Rakdos looked in fear as from Makoto's missing arm a giant blood claw appeared and grabbed him. Slowly crushing him.

Everyone felt fear as Makoto's bloodlust, just grew more and more, and Rakdos screams just went louder, as the pain that he felt increased. Rakdos then looked at Makoto's eyes, they were empty and soulless, only his bloodlust remained – "I'll kill…"

"Please Makoto stop"- He then felt Sayaka hug him from behind, looking at her… she was afraid… but wanted to save him – "I'm ok. So please stop"- Just like breaking a spell Makoto's bloodlust disappeared and his claw turned back into the blood as he fell to the floor breathing hard. What just happened? Enraged over the situation Rakdos then stood up ready to kill him.

"THAT'S ENOUGH RAKDOS!"- they heard Tsumugi scream. Rakdos then looked about to ignore her – "I SAID ENOUGH!"- Rakdos then felt his body stop as Tsumugi forced him to stop – "we already made a scene, we are leaving"- just then they all heard the police and a group of Reapers appear. Disappointed they all looked away and started to leave – "Tsumugi wait!"- She then stopped

"Makoto… I truly believe you are destined to be king, and I know the Humans are only going to make you suffer… so I want to protect you, even if it means working with the devil"- she then turned around and smiled. A pure-hearted smile – "Because I love you" – Markus then looked mad before they all disappeared, leaving the team there, Makoto then felt someone pull him up and carry him. Seeing Sakura holding him and Mondo – "we have to leave as well"

….

Tsumugi and all the ghouls then appeared all under the bridge where they all turned back into their human-like form. As the arrived Modore, Luzia and Silan fell to the floor as they were all tired – "Tsumugi… what the hell was that? We had him"- Rakdos then screamed, walking to her only to be stopped by Markus – "wow man chill" – Tsumugi then sighed

"Rakdos. I don't care what kind of vendetta you have with Makoto. But if you try again to kill him"- Her eyes then glowed pink – "I'll make sure not even a little trace of you is remaining"- Rakdos then gulped as he could feel her anger – "the Dr. Orders were to protect Makoto from Neo exorcists until we destroy their army… don't forget that"- Rakdos then clenched his teeth in anger and left. Modore, Luzia, and Silan sighed and left as well. Luzia was thinking something. Leaving only Markus and Tsumugi – "And are you sure he won't tell them?"- Markus then asked

"He wouldn't tell them. After all, he cares about my safety"- She said smiling. Markus then clenched his fist angry – "Tsumugi… I…"- But before he finished she covered his mouth with her finger – "I know… but my heart belongs to Makoto… sorry"- Markus then looked hurt and left. Leaving Tsumugi alone – "maybe I should talk with him alone"- she said as she looked up – "after all it's about time for a date.

Makoto and his team all arrived at their base where all of them fell to their areas. Maki still felt a little lightheaded over Makoto's blood lust resonance, Sakura felt tired from carrying and running with Makoto and Mondo. Sayaka sat sadly in a chair, holding the pieces of her sword. Kyoko was helping Makoto's injury. Byakuya and Izuru were working together to make sure the least info possibly went online, Mukuro was resting, and Mondo woke up. After a couple of minutes, Byakuya and Izuru came back

"Ok we did everything possible, we didn't manage to erase them all, but at least nothing incriminating or with our faces will appear"- Byakuya said. Makoto was drinking a blood bag, making his injuries heal quicker as only his hand was now missing – "I must say, even though is my first time seeing that… is kind of horrifying"- Sakura admitted, while Maki, Mondo, and a bit Sayaka nodded, and Makoto laughed embarrassed – "yeah… sorry"- He then pulled a blanket and covered his hand.

"what happened?"- Kyoko then asked and Makoto sighed. Before he relays all the information, he had – "I see... so those ghouls are going to our school. And they wanted to take you"- Byakuya said, as he thought about the situation – "we should tell the higher-ups about it"- Maki then said. Makoto was going to say something but.

"We shouldn't… after all, we still don't know what is their plan and countermeasures against it"- Izuru explained confusing them – "I agree with Izuru. if they only wanted Makoto they could have attacked him at any point he was alone, but they registered into the school… that means they are trying something that at least is time-consuming"- Kyoko thought out loud, everyone (except Izuru) then looked surprised over her perfect analysis – "Nothing less from the ultimate detective"- Makoto said smiling, making her blush. Makoto then turned serious

"We won't tell the higher-ups about this. I don't know what they are planning, but I don't think they will do something like today again. So let's take advantage and gain as much info as possible" – Everyone then nodded. Makoto then stood, his hand fully healed – "ok time to work"

After the reunion, they all went their separate ways to work. Mondo wanted to train with other reapers, Mukuro went to visit Junko to see how she was after the event, Sakura did the same with Hina. The way there was silent. Both living in their own minds and thoughts. They arrived at Makoto's family house and Minato opened the door – "Hey… are you guys ok? I saw in the news what happened in Hope's Peak"- Makoto and Sayaka then nodded and Minato sighed of relief – "omg that's good, I don't know what I would have done"

"Mr. Naegi… could we talk?"- Sayaka said surprising him, but he let them in, they then sat on the table – "Komaru isn't here today, she was visiting a Lala's house and after what happened I asked her to stay there. Se we don't have to worry" – They all sat and the silence went on. – "So Sayaka, did you wanted to ask me something?"- Minato asked and she just gulped before looking down – "I'm sorry"- she said surprising both as she started crying. She then pulled up the broken sword – "I'm sorry Mr. Naegi… I broke your precious sword"- Both of them were surprised, but mostly Makoto - *so this was what was worrying her*- Makoto then felt bad… he thought it was about him… but forgot to think about her feelings. Sayaka was and is a caring girl, so breaking the sword must have been eating away her soul… and he only cared about what she thought about him – "I tried saving it. But… but"

Sayaka's eyes then widened as she felt Minato pet her head. She then looked at him and he was smiling softly – "It's ok Sayaka is only a sword"- he said – "But…"-she tried but he just shook his head – "I know this sword has significant value to me, but in reality is just a tool to protect yourselves. Yes, the sword may be broken, but at least you are ok"- Sayaka looked surprised before bawling out in tears. How could it be? How could the Naegi family be so nice and caring, she knew that if she wasn't in love with Makoto, she would probably fall for his father.

"and after all Makoto broke the other one. I guess it just shows how the new generation is getting too strong for the swords"- He said as Makoto looked embarrassed. Sayaka then giggled a bit – "I'm sorry Sayaka"- Makoto said surprising her – "I was too worried about what you thought of me… that I forgot to think about your feelings. I guess I'm selfish"

"No that's not true"- Makoto's eyes widened after hearing her say that – "… I understand why you asked and why you fear other people's reactions, that moment was also horrifying to you as well… so you are afraid people are afraid of you… but you are not selfish. You saved me… and you got angry because of me… so I know your heart was in the right place"- Makoto then smiled softly – "Thank you Sayaka… I love you"- Both Sayaka and Minato then looked surprised… before his own eyes widened… did he just say that in front of his own dad? Minato then coughed – "so when are we planning the wedding" – the two teens then turned red

After that moment they both drank some tea with Makoto's father and talked a bit, before returning to the dormitory. It was dark but both of them looked happy as they walked back. As they got close Makoto and Sayaka then felt something and stopped – "we know you are there… so please just come out"- From an alleyway appeared Luzia, who was alone – "What do you want?"- Sayaka asked and Luzia looked angry at Makoto.

"Why did you wavered?" – Sayaka looked confused, while Makoto paid attention – "In that slab, you could have killed me… and then you asked the black-haired girl to capture us instead of killing us… why?"- Makoto then sighed.

"Because Leon cares about you"- Luzia's eyes widened… she was not expecting that answer – "what?"- Makoto then looked at her calm – "you may want to kill me, kidnap me or whatever, and you maybe be my enemy. But Leon cares about you, and he believes you care about him. So I'm going to trust his gut"- Luzia then squints her eyes in suspicion – "what do you mean?"

"just the same way before I'm a vampire I was a human… you were the same before becoming a ghoul. You have feelings, you love, you hate, etc. So maybe there is a way for you to live normally"- this made Luzia mad – "don't you hate ghouls? why would you want to help me?"- Makoto then smiled – "I don't hate ghouls, It would be like hating Maki or even Tsumugi"- Sayaka looked a bit sad that he didn't include himself – "I hate when they hurt people for their own selfish reasons… but in the end, all ghouls were born human, so I believe some of them can choose to change"- Luzia looked really angry
