If everyone hates and wants Makoto dead, would you speak up to protect him at the cost of your dream?"- Sayaka looked shocked… she never thought any of this… she had been enjoying her life thinking she could have both Makoto and her dream but never though… what if she only could choose one or the other. "well let's go!"- Makoto said excited – "shouldn't you dress first?"- Asked Tsumugi, it was then that both of them noticed they were only covered by their towels. Just then Makoto's towel fell – "wow it's rather big"- Tsumugi said impressed

Makoto and Tsumugi walked out. They were doing whatever Tsumugi wanted, as long as it didn't involve the Dr. or hurting others. Tsumugi then pouted at him – "Makoto I'm not a bloodthirsty maniac"- she said a bit offended making him sigh – "Ok then what is your plan?" – she then smiled. before pulling him to an alleyway – "I'll show you" – She then made a couple of demonic wings appear behind her and started floating a bit – "Do you trust me?"- she asked and Makoto smiled - "What other choices I have?"- and took her hands, before they flew together. Makoto looked surprised as he could watch everything from above, after a couple of minutes they arrived at the top of the bridge, landing in a place impossible to get if it wasn't from above – "wow, I never thought that flying was so cool"- he said as they arrived – "yeah, it's rather fun"- she said as she landed and her wings disappeared – "It makes traveling easier"- she admitted – "so why are we here?"- he asked her she then smiled – "this is my favorite place in the city"- she admitted – "really why?"- he asked confused. She then pointed away from the city into the river and Makoto looked surprised the light of the sun made the river shone like a pearl, the calm waters without people brought peace into his mind. Makoto then sat in the border – "wow. It looks amazing"- she then smiled and sat next to him – "see it's cool."- she said smiling, she felt pure joy seeing him like it – "I'm so happy you like it"- she said blushing. Makoto noticed this and looked a bit uncomfortable, confusing her over his change – "Tsumugi… why do you dedicate your life so much to me?" – he asked her and she looked confused – "What do you mean… You saved me… you gave me life… and I love you"- this last part she said blushing. "But you know… I didn't try to save you… it was an Accident"- He admitted – "Yes I know" – Makoto then looked at her – "then if you say you like me because I saved you, then those feelings aren't real… I did not save you"- He needed to tell her this, she always said she loved him for saving her… but he didn't. But instead of the reaction he was expecting, he looked surprised when Tsumugi smiled

"Makoto the time I'm saying you saved me wasn't when you gave me a life back"- she said surprising him – "I was the next in the vampire experiment. That day it was my turn to be experimented and die. But you saved me… you took my turn and ended turning into a vampire, then after they killed me you returned my life back. But to be honest… I was already in love with you. "Yeah, you are right… Some humans are selfish, mean, traitorous, and are trash"- he admitted looking upward – "but some of them are quite nice and caring… and we can't forget, we were humans once"- she looked a bit down. His words somehow struck true… but she still couldn't make her anger and hatred disappear.

"Don't worry I'm not telling you to forgive them… but at least always keep that in your mind"- he said and she smiled softly, the fact he wasn't forcing her or pressuring her showed how kind he was, even when they weren't on the same side. She then blushed as she wanted to ask him something, he noticed this, but instead was confused

Before he bit his thumb making it bleed – "Here"- he said presenting it to her. She then looked at it and felt her heart pounding hard. "Ok what's is bothering you?"- Kyoko said gaining her attention. Sayaka looked surprised over Kyoko being there. Sayaka then looked sadly at Kyoko – "Kyoko… I have to come honestly to you… Makoto is right now with Tsumugi"- she said surprising her a bit, she then started analyzing the situation – "I see… and what did she said to you to get you like this?"- Kyoko said as she sat in front of the surprised Sayaka. How she was able to read her and analyze the situation so fast. Sayaka then told her everything. Kyoko listened and was thoughtful as well.

"Kyoko, I know you are probably the only person who loves him as much as me… so, please… could you tell me… what should I do?"- Kyoko looked surprised, Sayaka was begging for her help. Kyoko then thought for a bit – "I don't know"- Sayaka looked surprised before her face turning sour – "I'm sorry Sayaka, but I can't tell you the answer, after all, you and I are too different. I never had a grandiose dream like yours. Ever since I was young my life has been dictated by my ability as the Ultimate detective and my job as Makoto's Reaper support"- Sayaka listened closely – "So if the world would turn against Makoto I would give my all to help him. I would fight teeth and nails to protect him, even if the world turned against me as well"

Sayaka felt worse, was she telling her that her love for Makoto was weaker than Kyoko's? – "but at the same time I can't fault you"- Sayaka looked surprised – "you are feeling like this because you dedicated your life to two different causes that clash with each other"- she explained – "So only you can make the decision… you have to find your own path"- Sayaka looked sad again – "but remember you still have time and we are here to help you too" she said, making Sayaka feel a little better. Sayaka then looked suspicious – "Ok why are you being so helpful with me?"- Kyoko then blushed a bit and looked away

"Ok… since you were honest with me I'll be honest with you. Although you and I fight all the time for Makoto's love… Honestly… you are probably my fist female friend"- Sayaka looked surprised – "I never had a lot of close friends, only Byakuya and Makoto. And while Chiaki would still be my friend. The way you and I became close friends… made me happy"- Sayaka was tearing up. She understood exactly what she meant. Their friendship probably started on the wrong foot. But little by little it deepens until they became really close friends… who knows… maybe best friends.

"Thanks, Kyoko"

It was sunset when Makoto and Tsumugi were walking through the park to go back to the dormitory. Makoto carried her off the bridge and was helping her home since she was still weak from the blood – "Sorry Makoto… I ruined our date"- She said a little ashamed. But Makoto smiled softly at her - "It's ok… I had fun"- he said, as a tinge of pink appeared on her face – "you are so sweet" – Makoto smiled.

Before both of them turned serious. Makoto then let Tsumugi go, while she stood up serious – "I see… unwanted pest want to interrupt our date"- she said mad as they looked a team of 6 neo exorcists surround them – "I see the monsters came together to die"- Said one of them right in front of a large hooded man Makoto recognized his voice – "we meet again demon"- He said taking his hood off revealing a blond guy

"Who are you?" – Makoto asked honestly, shocking the guy – "It's me, Lucio Ling, we have met before"- he said offended (chapter 16) – "yeah but you didn't show your face nor told me your name" – Lucio looked surprised as he remembered that… indeed that was what happened.

"Why are you here?"- Makoto said as he summoned blunted swords. Lucio then looked enraged – "We came to kill you"- Makoto then sighed as he looked serious – "Why? Why?"- Lucio said confusing him. Makoto then noticed that Lucio was getting angrier and angrier – "Why did you kill Sinon?"- He said shocking him. Makoto felt bad… but couldn't let it get to him – "You are a monster and I'll make sure to kill you myself"- He said as he pulled his AV rapier and the man behind pulled an AV Greatsword – "Tsumugi…be careful"- she then looked angrily at them… how dare they threaten her Makoto.

They both then went to fight, Makoto taking the greatsword one, Lucio, and an Archer. And Tsumugi taking care of the other three. Makoto was quickly dodging all the attacks. While he jumped. Lucio then swung his rapier, which expanded and turned into a whip. Noticing this Makoto's sword quickly turned into a shield, blocking it but pushing him back, as he rolled Makoto's clothes turned into a robe. He couldn't turn in his normal costume. To prevent anyone from noticing the Sanguine attacking a Neo Exorcist.

Makoto then felt a hard bloodthirst and quickly dodged the great sword breaking the floor. Makoto then used his hand to somersault back unto his feet. His cape quickly grabbing 3 arrows flying to him. Makoto then dashed to the archer summoning a hammer. Only for him to have to jump back to dodge the great sword, dropping his hammer into the air.

"You can't beat us… is 3 against 1"- He said before his smile disappeared as Makoto was smiling – "I have fought harder ghouls than you guys"- he said making them mad – "also you are wrong about something"- the two front eyes widened as they heard a loud crash behind them. They looked, surprising them, the archer was unconscious as the hammer hit his head. Makoto the summoned his blunted blades – "is 2 against 1"- They both then wanted to attack when they heard their communicators ring. They looked mad, Lucio was going to attack, only for the large man to stop him, Lucio then clenched his fist – "You are lucky… we are retreating"- they said as they grabbed the unconscious archer. Makoto let them leave before he quickly dashed to Tsumugi's aid. When he noticed that two of the Neo exorcist were still as they saw Tsumugi grabbing the third one on his neck. Makoto then noticed that slowly started clenching her hand, starting to crush his throat.

"Tsumugi, that's enough"- Makoto said. Tsumugi then looked at him – "they tried to kill you… these disgusting humans wanted to harm you… they should be killed"- she said her eyes as she looked madly at them – "Tsumugi, they won't fight. Please let him go"- Tsumugi then looked mad, before she dropped him. The Neo Exorcist then grabbed their man. And started leaving before they stopped – "Monster. We appreciate your mercy, but you are too naïve"- they then left

Leaving the duo – "Tsumugi are you ok?"- she then turned her face, with a soft smile – "Makoto… you are way too soft with the humans"- she said making him smile sadly – "I guess I am… but we were humans once too Tsumugi"
